Watch if you are in need of a sweet Mr. Green Flag Male Lead only

“Brewing Love” is a hybrid business romance + healing romance. The business part focuses on the beer industry - developing, manufacturing and selling. The healing part focuses on our main leads and how they grow and heal each other, even though they are very different individuals.

I am usually a fan of business romance dramas, but unfortunately, I was quite bored with the business part. There isn’t a whole lot of excitement especially when it’s about the beer industry. All you can do is really taste the beer and evaluate. The company politics are pretty shallow and the characters/villains one-dimensional. The drama tries to educate you on how to make beer, but it’s not done in an interesting way.

The only good thing about the business plot is bringing together 6 likeable individuals to form a special team. The villagers are also not as annoying as I worried. They don’t take up too much screen time and provide enough humor to bring together the male and female leads. I actually would much rather the drama focuses on life in the village than the business plot. But I do find the special ‘ability’ that Min Ju (ML) has quite unrealistic. You can’t be THAT perceptive to become a lie detector, right?

The best thing about this drama is the sweet romance. If you are in need of an introverted and sweet Mr. Green Flag, this is the drama for you! This is also one of the few dramas that I enjoy the middle episodes the most, when Min Ju (ML) starts to realize his feelings and falls in love with Yong Ju (FL). His subtle flirting also makes me blush! I enjoy learning about their backstory and how one incident changed both of their lives. One to live for and focus on his own well-being, while the other to live for others and forget herself. This is my favorite quote in the drama, "I'll find everything for you from now on, what you like. I'll make up for all the time I spent forgetting you by finding everything for you." Aww…. isn’t that sweet?

The secondary romance is OK. The characters are likable and Baek Sung Chul (as O Chan Hwi) is absolutely adorable without being annoying. However, their relationship roadblock regarding Chan Hwi’s past is resolved too quickly and easily. But I guess if the drama focuses too much on it, it would have become too ‘dark’.

Overall, “Brewing Love” is an average drama for me. If I didn’t like the green flag male lead that much and their sweet romance, I would have rated this lower. I also find the very last episode unsatisfying with a lot of filler. If you are not into this type of romance, I would not recommend this drama for you, as there are many better business romance or healing dramas out there.

Cheers to Love!

Brewing Love (2024)
================

WHAT I LIKED ::
⎯ ♡ ⋆ A really relaxing and refreshing drama to watch with great pacing
⎯ ♡ ⋆ I loved the fact that they compared sensitivity to the amount of hops in beer
⎯ ♡ ⋆ All the supporting characters were so sweet and lovable

⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯ ✧ ❤ ✧ ⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯⎯

WHAT I DID NOT LIKE ::
⎯ ✦ ⋆ I wish they would address more of the obvious mental health issues seen here and show some growth for those characters, especially Oh Chan Hwi
⎯ ✦ ⋆ I wish the main couple had better conflict resolution skills for their arguments
⎯ ✦ ⋆ I did expect a little more from the ending

OVERALL,
I am obssessed with this drama, because the whole message is really relatable to me. I cried more than I thought I would, and I learned more about myself too. I came to find out that there are other people out there like me who experience the world the same way I do and that we all have varing levels of sentivity.
Brewing Love filled my cup! It's the best drama of the year, in my opinion.

WHYYYY NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS??????

I'm so happy and glad that i watched this show!!! i loved itttt
Brewing Love is a heartwarming drama that balances humor, emotion, and valuable life lessons. While the female lead's acting initially felt over-the-top, her quirks quickly became endearing, and the chemistry between the main leads was sweet and satisfying. The second leads, however, stole the show with their adorable and impactful story, easily making them one of the cutest second-lead couples in recent memory. The supporting cast is top-notch, each character adding depth and warmth to the narrative. The grandmother’s death was a particularly emotional moment, leaving a lasting impact and reminding us of the importance of family. Overall, this feel-good drama is a perfect mix of laughter, tears, and inspiration, making it a must-watch for anyone who loves meaningful storytelling.

9.5/10

This was a really good drama. It was a really good storyline and the casting was good. There was a lot of things I think could have been left out or less focused on. Some characters was really annoying like the directors but the various types of other characters made up for the annoying ones. I'd definitely recommend this to someone if they asked for a recommendation.

Side Note: Kim Sejeong's acting in this was so good and I can't wait to see what she does next! I'll also look out for dramas from the other TF members!

Brewing Love Review - ZyKuu

"Alcohol is the catalyst to love" - The story is very unique and was a breath of fresh air for me as a viewer. It introduced me to the craftsmanship of beer making which I found very neat. Chae Yong-ju and Yoon Min-ju are the main leads of the drama and I found them to be terrific in their roles. Yong-ju did a great job but I enjoyed Min-ju's performance even more. He excelled at portraying his role of an empath. The main romance between Yong-ju and Min-ju was very thoughtful, caring and supportive which I admired. Oh Chan-hwi and Bang Ah-reum were the second main leads, and their romantic relationship was my favourite as they were innocent and gentle towards one another. I have a tiny crush on Ah-reum as I found her visuals to be stunning, I found the side characters to do well in their part but the one that stood out the most to me was Yeom Jang-goon. Jang-goon is a compelling character because he portrays himself as a villain, but deep down he is a hardworking man allowed his greed and jealousy to overtake his ethics and morals. The OST is great and I always found each soundtrack growing on me through each listen. Overall this was a very entertaining drama and it was easy to binge. I highly recommend everyone to check this one out!

One of my favourite!

I really enjoy watching Brewing Love. The chemistry between the FL and ML is outstanding! Both character does complement each other in their own ways.

I fell in love with Kim Se Jeong in this drama. Bro, her acting and her face expression is super funny! A super strong will character but fell on her knees when things went south.

The vibe in this drama also not too heavy. I can feel the warmth and slice of life (a bit) kind of vibe - which I really love! Eventho there is a slice of life kinda vibe, the pace of Brewing Love is not slow at all. I can say Brewing Love is like a healing drama for me as u can just watch, relax and enjoy the drama.

JUST AMAZING

I just finished watching this. IT was SOOO gentle and healing drama. Loved the main couple (ju-ju couple). They healed each other and supported each other. I loved how FL was tough girl and ML was gentle-caring guy. The second lead were so pretty and charming. I loved the story overall of both main and second leads. I loved the villagers too and everything gave me a pure summer vibe. If you like hometown cha cha cha, you would definitely love this too.

Cute and Cringe

I really like the characters in this show, especially the main two. They had great chemistry, and I loved seeing their characters interact because of how different they are. Some parts were a little too cheesy or cringe for me, even for drama's standards. It was pretty cute overall! Always love seeing Se Jeong, she's so funny!

A soft, healing drama with lovable characters

I watched Brewing Love while it was still airing, and I remember really enjoying it. It’s the kind of drama that feels light but still meaningful in its own way.
What stood out the most to me was the chemistry between the actors, not just the main leads, but the whole cast. Their interactions felt natural and made the story more enjoyable to watch. I also tend to be drawn to dramas that explore themes like psychology, trauma, or childhood experiences, so I might be a bit biased, but I appreciated how this drama included those elements in a gentle and approachable way.
The characters were another highlight. I really liked the female lead. She comes across as strong, but you can still see her vulnerabilities underneath, which made her feel real. The male lead was also refreshing. His level of empathy is something you don’t often see portrayed so clearly in dramas, and it made his character stand out in a very warm way.
Overall, this drama felt like a small form of healing for me. It’s not heavy or emotionally draining, but it still has enough depth to make you feel connected. I would recommend this especially if you’re feeling emotionally tired and just want something comforting to watch.

SALES QUEEN MEETS SENSITIVE BREWMASTER

The story follows Chae Yong-ju, a former special forces soldier turned legendary liquor salesperson. When her branch is threatened with closure, she's tasked with recruiting the reclusive, 'god-tier' brewmaster Yoon Min-ju. The twist? Min-ju is an extremely empathetic individual who literally feels the emotions of those around him, which is why he lives a quiet, isolated life in the countryside. Their dynamic is a classic 'unstoppable force meets immovable object', but with a soft, healing center.

Furthermore, it's a delight to see a 'tough girl x soft boy' trope handled with maturity. Yong-ju is physically strong and emotionally guarded, while Min-ju is gentle and emotionally attuned. Their relationship is built on communication rather than the typical 'accidental kiss and trip' cliches. Set against a cozy rural backdrop, the drama excels at being a 'slice-of-life' comfort watch. It tackles themes like burnout, PTSD, and the pressure of societal expectations without becoming overly 'angsty'. Min-ju and Yong-ju's chemistry is understated but sweet. Se-jeong brings her signature energy, while Lee Jonh-won plays the sensitive lead with a quiet, magnetic charm. Also, the relationship between the ambitious Bang A-reum and the free-spirited Oh Chan-hwi provides a nice contrast and some of the show's best character development.

However, the show starts with a visual, almost supernatural depiction of Min-ju's empathy, but this unique element fades into the background as the series progresses, turning it into a more standard office rom-com. If you high-octane drama or 'makjang' twists, you'll be bored. This is a low-conflict show where most problems are solved with an honest conversation and a pint of ale.

In conclusion, Brewing Love is a solid 'easy watch' as it's my second time watching it. It's not going to be the next Queen of Tears or Business Proposal in terms of impact, but it's a sincere, heartwarming story about two people learning to be vulnerable.
