Brewing frustration
This is such a poorly written show. It's hard to believe that, with an experience cast and crew, the show producers and writers made made such a mess in setting the show narrative tone. The main storylines are incoherent and intertwined with some off the most basic humor that i saw this year. The suport characters are completely hollow. They just shout and make weird faces. One or two ahjummas are also on Virtuous Business and they were good in this show, because the writers and director created scenes that show their humanity and personality. They are not just screaming cardboard cutouts.
There's also the feeling that something feels off with the main characters due to the erratic story progression but mainly because on some scenes the actors don't have anything to hang on. Sejeong in the "action scenes" does not seem to be in character but just performing some stunt like in some variety show showing her physical prowess. It's a shame to see actors wasting their talent with such shallow roles.

The best romcom this year for me
I just love it. The main characters deserve to love each other. Not the weak type of woman who cries a lot and not the arrogant and insensitive type of man. There are no evil characters like the devil. Many quotes that are relevant to life. can't wait for next week. Yuhuuuu. please give a chance to watch this drama. i like the little things in this dramaWas this review helpful to you?

crying boss
When he’s boss was crying about their branch closing , I had to skip a bit because why does he cry like that 😭I couldn’t take him serious.I’m really enjoying it so far they’re so cute , really cute . I love how the male lead isn’t like your usual tough guy act male he’s so adorable and goofy.I don’t know why I thought in the beginning they’d show her going to the doctor for the injury she got from episode 1 . The FL is so hard working and she really does our everyone above herself it does make me sad 🥲.
I’m rooting for Areum and Chan Hwi too they’re cute .

Simple plot but with well-written characters that drive the story further.
When I first read the synopsis, it felt so simple that it didn't feel like a drama that I would watch and look out for if it wasn't for Sejeong being casted as FL. And true enough, the plot was as simple as it gets, that after the first 2 episodes I wondered how they're going to stretch this into 12 episodes. But looking back, honestly, isn't it closer to real life than other dramas do? Most of us lead same, simple lives, that the only difference we have is the people surrounding us and how they're bringing color and dimension. This is the same with the characters, they live normally but each have their own story to tell.Story (9/10)
I love love the depiction of the characters and how their stories unfold, especially Yongju. I'm not sure if it's just me relating to her, but I felt the strongest conviction for her character development. It made this drama from "something that I watch just for Sejeong" to a drama "must watch for characters like Yongju".
Regardless of the characters, I still feel like the drama could use more strengthening in terms of plot development. Because of its simple plot, there were times when I felt like they were just dragging conflict/issues to make it progress. After the characters' development, the excitement sort of just slowly dissipated.
Acting (9/10)
While I love the character Chae Yongju, I have to admit that this is not Sejeong's strongest portrayal. Based on character description, there were a lot of parts about Yongju that overlapped with Sejeong, that sometimes I feel like I'm just watching Sejeong. Her actions, aegyo and mannerisms just scream like her so I kind of found it hard to separate them. I don't want to compare but her portrayal of Shin Hari was so well-done if felt like she was a whole new person on her own. But she definitely improved on the emotional scenes that half of me wishes we'd get more sad and emotional Yongju because she portrays that amazingly.
It's the first time I'm watching Lee Jongwon, but I'm amazed at how well he does. His expressive eyes are definitely something to treasure for. I'll admit I was initially skeptical about his acting the first 2 episodes, but he just transformed after that.

When it comes to acting, I think it can be improved more by the FL. Don't get me wrong, i absolutely love her and she has been my favourite for a long time, but I feel like, in few of the scenes her acting feels forced. It's unlike her to not deliver a script well, as I've seen her in so many series and have absolutely loved it. But nonetheless, overall, it's not that bad, she's gonna make your heart flutter in certain scenes for sure. And regarding the ML, I have only one thing to say, Perfection! His subtle expressions, his soft gaze that portrays his empath character perfectly, his mannerisms, it's perfect.
You must give this series a go, it's worth your time, trust me! It's surely gonna make your heart flutter!

A pretty solid watch
There's a lot to find in these 12 episodes, I saw mentioned that the drama is a bit disjointed in a different review, but in my opinion it comes together well enough. There's his family issues, her family issues, his work, her work, and then all the secondary characters - so there is a lot to cover. My main problem with the Kdrama is that I couldn't get away from the fact that it's happening in 3 different places; Seoul, Busan, and a "midway" point. There's a 4.5-5.5 hour driving distance between Seoul and Busan and our female lead works in both places during the drama while still living in the same home. And sometimes it's so far between that you need a cat sitter, and sometimes it's just a quick drive 🙄 Yes it's fiction, and yes, these are the two largest cities in S-Korea and therefore the best known ones - it still took away from my enjoyment of the drama.

9.5/10
This was a really good drama. It was a really good storyline and the casting was good. There was a lot of things I think could have been left out or less focused on. Some characters was really annoying like the directors but the various types of other characters made up for the annoying ones. I'd definitely recommend this to someone if they asked for a recommendation.Side Note: Kim Sejeong's acting in this was so good and I can't wait to see what she does next! I'll also look out for dramas from the other TF members!

Lame Story, but leads are lovely
Great chemistry in the show in both the main leads and second leads. It has very sweet moments throughout but the story itself is quite lack luster. Not bad not great. I hadn’t seen the ML in anything before this and will be on the lookout for him in the future. He was great! The story itself, is really flat. Follows a very tropey kdrama vibe with ridiculous conflicts and unnecessary drama. Worth watching for the cast, but certainly won’t be a rewatch for me.

It doesn't make me feel anything.
I don't want another drama where they end up with him making beer with her and they live happy for the rest of their days after a lots of misunderstandings etc. I need a happy ending but... It is too mutch simple stuff produced these days. It feels like they all have the same style these days. I don't think the story holds up. I need someone more that gets me hooked right away. This story is about a female and male protagonist who has a complicated history around work and family... She and others must persuade him to make beer for them. She is handsome and happy but sad inside. He senses people's feelings and is angry with his father. You understand. You have heard the story before, but in different versions. Was this review helpful to you?

Brewing Love: Here's what stood out (and what didn't)
So, I just wrapped up Brewing Love, and let me tell you, I have a LOT of feelings about this one. It’s a drama with a mix of romance, humour, and some emotional punches that kept me invested—but not without some head-scratching moments. Let’s break it down:What I Liked:
1. Yoon Min Ju, the empathic brewer stole the show for me. His ability to feel others’ emotions while grappling with his own identity was such a refreshing take. His changing relationship with Chae Yong Ju was especially entertaining, whether they were bantering, arguing, or sharing heartfelt moments. Also, Oh Chan Hwi's over-the-top personality added so much energy to the show—it was impossible not to laugh when he was around.
2. Min Ju’s sensitivity and Yong Ju’s resilience as she fought to save the Busan branch. I loved how the show explored the struggles of being kind and compassionate in a world that doesn’t always reciprocate.
3. From the meddlesome but hilarious Young and Sook sisters to Chan Hwi’s chaotic yet endearing attempts to woo Bang Ah Reum, the supporting characters brought so much life to the story. The village scenes, especially, felt warm and inviting, with a true sense of community.
4. *The music was perfect for the story’s emotional highs and lows. The OST nailed the vibe every time.
5. Once Min Ju and Yong Ju's relationship blossomed, their chemistry was undeniable. That kiss in the mountains? Swoon-worthy.
What I Didn’t Like:
1. Ah Reum’s journey from a scheming opportunist to a sympathetic team player felt rushed and inconsistent. One minute she’s throwing Yong Ju under the bus, and the next, she’s crying about feeling inadequate. It was hard to root for her romance with Chan Hwi when her redemption arc didn’t feel earned.
2. The whole “Does Kang Beom have a crush on Yong Ju?” subplot felt unnecessary. It didn’t add much to the story.
3. Yong Ju’s tendency to act flustered or “cute” didn’t always land for me, and some of her emotional scenes lacked depth. It felt like the actress wasn’t quite the right fit for certain moments.
4. Jjuan’s ex-husband drama just “died down” after that one confrontation?
Despite its flaws, Brewing Love was an enjoyable watch. It combined heartfelt moments, quirky humour, and a fresh take on romance that kept me hooked. While some characters and subplots didn’t fully hit the mark, the show’s charm and strong leads made up for it. If you’re in the mood for something light-hearted but meaningful, give it a try!
Would I recommend it? Definitely, but with a heads-up about its minor hiccups.
