A Bit Flat, But Hopefully Not the Beer

It was just okay. It was filled with lighthearted, bubbly moments but seemed to be confused with what exactly it wanted to be. There were a few plot lines that were wholly unnecessary and seemed like they were thrown in to make things “interesting.” Certain parts felt overdramatized and cliche when this kind of show didn’t need any of that; it could have just been about beer, romantic love, and self-discovery.

Sejong, as usual, was a delight to watch. She definitely had the most serious plot lines and her acting felt very real. The ML was an absolute green flag and sweetheart, and his story was quite unique for a kdrama. The first few episodes had me intrigued over how the writers would use his “gift” in the story.

Some of the supporting cast was cute, but the others felt bland. I did like the village members and their dynamic, but sometimes their scenes dragged on a bit too long. However, they still felt like more complete characters than the Jisang Beverage employees, whom I didn’t feel a lot of connection. Part of this could have been due to the acting, as most of these actors are very young and perhaps lack some experience. Furthermore, many of the “dramatic” or “mysterious” plot points weren’t either of those things and I found myself checking out.

As I’m writing this review, I’m realizing I recall very little about the story. This is probably because I came back to it for the last 3 episodes after putting it on hiatus for two months…

No way bro was an empath

ML is an empath and FML is a go-getter who is optimism in a bottle. So basically girlboss and a malewife, fantastic I love a good malewife. I think we need more feminine boys in Kdramas like that's a lost market I would spend alot of money on. Anyways, the drama itself is sub-par with a very light and fluffy plot, no deep problems that last more than 15 minutes which is great for someone with no time to be emotionally invested. However, a problem I have with this drama is that it empowers empaths too much. Your average empath is an emo tiktoker saying shit like I can feel the pain of Chernobyl victims like baby no you can't, you just empathising rn. This drama portrays empaths as people who can see true emotions even when hidden, like a superpower and not just someone who is very observant. I dont think empaths are real if im being honest (call the woke police idgaf) so when the show pulled up that term I simply could not take the ML or the drama seriously anymore. Hence the bad rating. Overall mid drama with low stakes but alot of love to the actors and actresses

Good but not for me.

This was a hard watch for me. It honestly wasn't that bad of a show, but parts of it were a little to close to home. The premise of the story was interesting but honestly got boring really fast and there were many times were I caught myself on my phone and then had to rewatch parts. The part of the show that focused on the beer was very repetitive, something bad would happen and then they would fix it until something else would happen. I did really like the core cast but the side characters in charge of the beer company were annoying and too cartoon. I will say this though, there were parts of this show that were really great and there were many parts where I was crying and also many part that made me laugh. I think that for some people this may be a really enjoyable show, but for people who deal with similar issues as some of the characters here its a hard watch.

Brewing frustration

This is such a poorly written show. It's hard to believe that, with an experience cast and crew, the show producers and writers made made such a mess in setting the show narrative tone.

The main storylines are incoherent and intertwined with some off the most basic humor that i saw this year. The suport characters are completely hollow. They just shout and make weird faces. One or two ahjummas are also on Virtuous Business and they were good in this show, because the writers and director created scenes that show their humanity and personality. They are not just screaming cardboard cutouts. 

There's also the feeling that something feels off with the main characters due to the erratic story progression but mainly because on some scenes the actors don't have anything to hang on. Sejeong in the "action scenes" does not seem to be in character but just performing some stunt like in some variety show showing her physical prowess. It's a shame to see actors wasting their talent with such shallow roles.

crying boss

When he’s boss was crying about their branch closing , I had to skip a bit because why does he cry like that 😭I couldn’t take him serious.I’m really enjoying it so far they’re so cute , really cute . I love how the male lead isn’t like your usual tough guy act male he’s so adorable and goofy.
I don’t know why I thought in the beginning they’d show her going to the doctor for the injury she got from episode 1 . The FL is so hard working and she really does our everyone above herself it does make me sad 🥲.


I’m rooting for Areum and Chan Hwi too they’re cute .

Simple plot but with well-written characters that drive the story further.

When I first read the synopsis, it felt so simple that it didn't feel like a drama that I would watch and look out for if it wasn't for Sejeong being casted as FL. And true enough, the plot was as simple as it gets, that after the first 2 episodes I wondered how they're going to stretch this into 12 episodes. But looking back, honestly, isn't it closer to real life than other dramas do? Most of us lead same, simple lives, that the only difference we have is the people surrounding us and how they're bringing color and dimension. This is the same with the characters, they live normally but each have their own story to tell.

Story (9/10)
I love love the depiction of the characters and how their stories unfold, especially Yongju. I'm not sure if it's just me relating to her, but I felt the strongest conviction for her character development. It made this drama from "something that I watch just for Sejeong" to a drama "must watch for characters like Yongju".

Regardless of the characters, I still feel like the drama could use more strengthening in terms of plot development. Because of its simple plot, there were times when I felt like they were just dragging conflict/issues to make it progress. After the characters' development, the excitement sort of just slowly dissipated.

Acting (9/10)
While I love the character Chae Yongju, I have to admit that this is not Sejeong's strongest portrayal. Based on character description, there were a lot of parts about Yongju that overlapped with Sejeong, that sometimes I feel like I'm just watching Sejeong. Her actions, aegyo and mannerisms just scream like her so I kind of found it hard to separate them. I don't want to compare but her portrayal of Shin Hari was so well-done if felt like she was a whole new person on her own. But she definitely improved on the emotional scenes that half of me wishes we'd get more sad and emotional Yongju because she portrays that amazingly.

It's the first time I'm watching Lee Jongwon, but I'm amazed at how well he does. His expressive eyes are definitely something to treasure for. I'll admit I was initially skeptical about his acting the first 2 episodes, but he just transformed after that.

Sweetttttttttt!!!!

Actually I am not a big fan of only Melo or Romance where I wait for every episode but I really Waited for every week for this drama and really enjoyed It .
First I just came for Kim se Jeong but I really liked Lee Jong won in this drama , I really Liked their chemistry a lot and The second Couple were very sweet and I Liked there chemistry too.
Story - The story was not common but not that different but I liked it , The village set up and small connections between Leads and also each character has their own story
Actors - I really liked all the 6 members in the squad and Individual character is also very good and I am really Impressed with Lee Jong Won in this drama . The mains have a healthy relationship and I am satisfied with this part a lot.
Over all The drama is very good and I really recommend this drama to watch .

God, I am absolutely loving this series. It's light-hearted and feel good series, yes, but the way it takes you on an emotional ride from happiness, to sadness, from confusion to understanding, it properly depicts how the real world is. I love how in such a subtle and tender way they are breaking the social norms. You can't ever get offended by it, that's how it's been portrayed. I've never cooed so much in my life like the way I'm doing for the soft scenes of this series, I think I can't even recognise myself at times XD.

When it comes to acting, I think it can be improved more by the FL. Don't get me wrong, i absolutely love her and she has been my favourite for a long time, but I feel like, in few of the scenes her acting feels forced. It's unlike her to not deliver a script well, as I've seen her in so many series and have absolutely loved it. But nonetheless, overall, it's not that bad, she's gonna make your heart flutter in certain scenes for sure. And regarding the ML, I have only one thing to say, Perfection! His subtle expressions, his soft gaze that portrays his empath character perfectly, his mannerisms, it's perfect.

You must give this series a go, it's worth your time, trust me! It's surely gonna make your heart flutter!

Story is original but leads have no chemistry

I watched this because the ML is uniquely handsome with his retro seventies hairstyle and so captivating, you can’t take eyes off of him during his scenes . The FL was adorable in Business Proposal but I don’t like her in this drama She is too butch and the whole armed forces scenario is suppose to make her desirable to the ML? She did not age well, and her sugar coated broad fake smile doesn’t make her more attractive. These leads do not have the onscreen chemistry to make a romance convincing. The storyline is unique which is the only reason I made it to Episode 8……along with the memorizing looks of the ML.
