From my best drama of the month to THE WORST
This dama hurt my feelings. It's like everything went down the drain. At first, I Loved the drama. Felt like a new concept. I even gave it 9.5 at first. But the end....
It went down to a 4 because of the ending. All the effort they put in organising their life, job and career went down the drain.
I mostly feel bad about her family. She very carefully arranged pieces of her life, worked hard, made new friends, attended a top college, stopped her parents from making past mistakes, and her brother was actually doing something.
The 2nd FL also had learnt her lessons. This is so cruel. I just can't accept this. She lost everything. All the respect she had earned by herself through her bravery and hard work are all gone. It was the FLs story of not being love sick anymore, but to be a successful career-driven boss lady.
What good is gonna do for me if I lost my identity and 10 years of hard work, but at least my boyfriend remembers me????
This is no happy ending. It's a SAD ENDING. Heartbreaking soul-tearing ending. Nothing can be worse than this.

A wonderful fluffy drama....TURNED INTO COMPLETE NONSENSE
Summit of our youth began as a drama you'd watch to pass time then suddenly changed into a drama that you will watch to vent your frustration. Perhaps the director of the drama was changed midway because there is no way a normal person would advocate for this nonsense of an ending. The SML becoming a villain was so random and unessacary and to top it all of they went back to the very beginning? Like wh?!??? The censorship in china cannot be that bad and even if it is why bother filming a drama like this? If you are currently watching this drama and you have watched up till episode 18 or 20 then I'd advise you to stop there and call it a day because you will be extremely angered. Was this review helpful to you?

How to f**k up the story and ending
I know I may be extreme about this review, and maybe it doesn’t deserve such a low rating from others, but from my point of view, I didn’t like how they messed up the ending. That said, I think the cast for the FL and ML was good, although there are some annoying characters, especially towards the end of the drama, which I didn’t like one bit.
We all know that at the end of the drama it was just a dream and the FL was in a coma, so shouldn’t they have shown a wholesome or slice-of-life moment in the last episode instead?
This is just my opinion, because I think it would have been a better story if they ended it nicely without adding unnecessary twists and turns. Maybe I’m wrong, since everyone has different tastes when it comes to dramas, so I apologize if someone feels it’s wrong for me to post this negative review.

lovely story
After a long time, a series that gives me the feeling of hidden love Very lovely, the actors are great and beautiful, and the story is very beautiful It has an enjoyable atmosphere, I recommend you watch itI'm very curious to know how the story will continue. Isn't the actress playing the female lead very pretty? Why hadn't I met her sooner?
I think it would have been better if there were more episodes. Although it's not over yet, I think it's a bit difficult to wrap up the series. I hope they can finish it well.

Well, where to start.. The story is no new invention obviously, but that’s not really a bad thing.. I don’t think the drama ever aimed to create something new.. It gives off a Legally Romance vibe, which honestly doesn’t work at all in its favor, because Legally Romance set a high standard that’s not easy to achieve.. There’s not much to talk about in this drama.. Nothing new to be exact. The story was good up until the last episode.. Nothing extraordinary, but still a fun watch overall.. The chemistry between the main leads was nice.. I loved how their relationship developed.. Some scenes were beautifully shot.. Their first kiss, the proposal scene and some moments like that..
Honestly I don’t think Chen Jing Ke fits well in that college age role.. He looks a bit too mature to fit in.. They tried hard with the costumes, but nah it just doesn’t suit him.. I think more mature roles would suit him better, he has a hard edge to him that’s hard to ignore.. Sun Zhen Ni on the other hand, fit the role perfectly.. She is one of the actresses I hope achieves huge success in her career.. Yeah, her acting feels a bit rigid at times but she definitely has potential..
The drama had way too many characters whose stories went nowhere, the ML’s cousin and his friend, the FL’s friends, FL’s brother and Shi Yun.. Because of that ending it all felt meaningless.. I also don’t think the drama was very logical when it came to the business aspects.. It was pretty clear they didn’t do enough research on how shares and ownership actually work.. But anyway, not going to dwell on that..
Now the third act of the drama, where it all spiraled out of control.. First of all the SML’s villainous arc made no sense.. He had no reason to do it, he was not that sort of a guy.. You hear two people talking about their past lives, the logical conclusion would be to think they are two whackjobs or may be look for answers, but obviously not get depressed about losing something you don’t even remember having..
That was one of the most absurd endings I have ever seen in a drama.. Everything was wrapped up beautifully and then they went and ruined it all in a matter of 15 minutes, like completely destroyed it.. I understand censorship and all that but there were better ways to end the final episode or even the entire third act.. Sure it’s a happy ending, the leads are together but at what cost?? Their relationship felt like a consolation prize.. Even if that’s how they wanted to end it, they should have added at least one more episode in the present, to show that she achieved something.. With her character, you can tell she might seem happy but that regret will always be there.. I enjoyed the drama until that last episode, but after that it just spiraled.. Really disappointing..
Yeah, I am happy for Xue Jiao and Zhi Hua.. They got the chance to experience a life they missed the first time, something many people can only dream of.. They lived and loved with all their hearts and they had the opportunity to enjoy every pursuit of life and happiness together.. If this was an outright romance drama, that conclusion would have been satisfying.. But she lost everything, didn’t she?? Her parents, her brother, they are still struggling and she is too.. But yes, she found her better half, so silver lining and whatnot..
Overall, even with all the criticism about the ending, it was a good watch.. But obviously, the conclusion would have been decent if they had just stopped about 30 minutes into episode 23 but yeah " censorship ".. If I am to end this on a positive note, I would say I hope they found success in their current life and it’s not just their love story that had a happy ending but every other aspect of their lives, especially hers.. God knows she deserves it, even if we don’t get to see it.. And to the writer, I hope you have nightmares about that ending for a long, long time..

Skip the ending.
I didn’t finish it yet but reading the comments makes me sad and angry. A lot of audiences are saying the ending is obviously cut because of censorship. Surely the writers knew about the rules beforehand because China started restricting transmigration / time travel dramas for a while already??? Couldn’t they have just followed the guidelines and write an ending that made more sense while knowing for sure it will pass censorship!?? Can’t they hire a censorship professional???Sorry I’m just tired of crap, abrupt endings especially since the drama started out so strong. Skip the last 4 episodes.

Wait what?!
This is the first time that I'll write a review, I don't know what happened but the ending is MEH!,The ML and FL was good, from ep. 1-23 ( and half ) it was good, but then the when the FL wakes it messes up the story. The ending should be better, maybe I would rewatch this if it has a different ending.
So many question to ask, what happened to YTY now that the FL is awake are they still together or did they broke up?, how about the story of GMZ, and ZSY? , or even STT before the FL woke up she is a successful businesswomen,
it was really a disappointing ending.

Summit of Our Youth: A Journey of Dreams, Friendship, and Growth
Gu Xuejiao (Sun ZhenNi) is a contract worker whose application for full-time employment is thwarted when her program has bugs—bugs planted, she believes, by her boss, Ling ZhiHua (Chen JingKe), which ultimately causes her to quit. After narrowly avoiding an elevator accident, she finds herself time-traveling—back to age 18 and decides to dedicate herself to acing the college entrance exam. In a twist, Ling ZhiHua reappears as her tutor during this crucial period.Everything was fine until episode 18. In episode 19 don’t understand why the female lead suddenly became so angry with the male lead. She was also keeping that secret from him, wasn’t she? So why was she acting so upset with him? The ending completely ruined it for me. It made it seem like the evil second female lead came out on top in this life, while the female lead was left in the same position as before, struggling just to live a good life. Even if I try to overlook the ending and just focus on the earlier episodes, I still can’t understand why they suddenly turned the female lead’s ex into a villain. Why did he even come back after going abroad? And if he did return, why was he suddenly so obsessed with the female lead? “If you want to keep a happy impression of the drama, I’d recommend stopping at episode 18.

When fate gives you a second chance
Summit of Our Youth is a light, addictive and fun drama that will keep you up for nights! The story starts off with Gu Xuejiao (played by Sun Zhenni) being transported back 10 years ago, back to the years she regretted the most in the future. Given a second chance in life, she decides let go of her love obsession and focus on studying and a healthy mindset. During her time as a student again, she meets Lin Zhihua (played by Chen Jingke), who in her previous life was her “ruthless boss” that she once despised, but now was her only option to climb up the ranks at school. After begging him for a while, he finally agrees to tutor her after seeing her determined spirit.
In terms of chemistry, I was honestly speechless. They were the best thing about this show! Just put them in the same room, and I would rewatch that scene a million times, it was THAT good. You have to trust me on that. If you like leads with excellent chemistry, this show is 100% made for you, I promise.
Their relationship was satisfying to watch and just so sweet! It was kinda a slow burn (at least for us, who had to wait for just 1 episode everyday for a while T_T), but that was the best part! It made the confession and their relationship much more valuable. I loved how in the start, we could already see them slowly started falling for each other without realizing, just to be spoiled by Gu Xuejiao in the most hilarious way possible (don’t worry, they have a proper confession scene).
Now, let’s talk about the characters:
Starting with our main character and female lead, Gu Xuejiao played by actress Sun Zhenni. First of all, I’d like to point out how pretty she looked throughout the entire show, she was absolutely gorgeous, I was too busy staring at her then to read the subtitles lol. Now, moving on to the actual character; Gu Xuejiao is not just a pretty face, but a kind, intelligent, determined and fun character. Thanks to her, the show was funnier and more enjoyable. She properly uses her transportation from the future as her strength to support her and her family, but never as a shortcut in life. Everything she has now is because of her hard work and determination. Overall, she is a lovable character, a worthy female lead and one of the best parts of the show!
On the other hand, we have our male lead, Lin Zhihua played by actor Chen Jingke. He is literally a walking green flag, always understanding and caring and yes, fine as hell. I don’t know how anyone wouldn’t fall for this guy. He cares a lot about all his loved ones, one of the best example of was when Gao Rui was in a coma, in the hospital. During that time, Lin Zhihua took over all of Gao Rui’s part time jobs and spent all his days in regret, knowing that all this was easily preventable. I loved his character very much and especially his relationship with Gu Xuejiao, they complimented each other perfectly.
Supporting roles:
Gao Rui played by actor Ge Qiu Gu:
First of all, he was a real homie. He kept the leads’ relationship as a secret for 2 years, I’m genuinely impressed. He understood the meaning and importance of a real friend, and is close to both Lin Zhihua and Gu Xuejiao, so he easily understands both of the leads more than anyone else. Other than that, he was one of the really likeable characters and this show would probably would not have been this fantastic without him.
Zhou Shiyun played by actress Tu Zhi Ying:
By now, I sure everyone has heard of her, right? Now, lemme address this issue, her character is straight up HATE-ABLE, like no one and nothing can save her. She has done bad things and is still doing bad things. Gu Ming Ze is an absolute fool for loving her.
HOWEVER, we have to blame her mom for the monster she has become. In fact it’s not her fault at all. If her mom hadn’t put so much pressure on her own daughter like that, she wouldn’t have become the person she is today. Although she did have some character development after the high school arc. She gets more bearable to watch afterwards. Moving on, it feels weird defending her like that.
Gu Mingze played by actor Wu Chong Xuan:
He was such a wholesome brother. The way he covered for Gu Xuejiao was really nice (especially an older brother lol). Loved the siblings-relationship so much. But as I said earlier, HE IS AN ABSOLUTE FOOL FOR LOVING ZHOU SHIYUN. Like what did girl do to deserve a person like him?? The way he can’t tell how Shiyun’s mean personality is just straight up stupid. Anyways, he’s just a good character with bad, no, extremely poor taste.
There were also many other characters like Yi Tianyu, Sun Tian Tian, Lin Zhiyue, etc.. who all played their parts well. But if we were to talk about everyone, we would be here all day, right?
Now it’s time for the REAL question:
Does Summit of Out Youth really deserve the 9 stars I gave it?
Probably not in terms of many aspects, but do I care? ABSOLUTELY NOT. I adore this drama and it brought so much joy to my life temporarily. Even if even if the story wasn’t interesting enough, the chemistry alone is enough to deserve the 9 stars.
In conclusion, Summit of Our Youth was a great show that certainly kept me entertained (and definitely waiting too) for the time being. This is such an underrated drama. There were many aspects to love about it and you’ll know once you start watching it too. It’s worth every second of watching, I promise. Give it a try.
Although I would like to remind everyone to look at the bigger picture when watching not only this drama, but every drama out there.
Without considering the smaller details, ask yourself if you liked it or not, only then you’ll know if you truly enjoyed the drama or not.
Well, unless the small details are so bad that they become major problem and throws you off.
Anyways, thanks for making it this far. If you have any questions on the drama or opinions to share, feel free to comment.
Now, let’s all hope for a happy and satisfying ending. Enjoy your watch everyone!

THE ENDING WAS INEVITABLE AND FAKE AND THE WRITERS HAD TO BECAUSE OF SOME LAWS SO DON'T SAY THIS DRAMA IS BAD JUST BECAUSE OF THE ENDING ✨

fantastic chemistry that is gonna make your heartflutter
i absolutely love both leads. their acting was impressive. chen jin ke showed amazing micro-expressions (esp his brows, deserves a fandom of its own) and sun zhen ni portrayed so many emotions with just her eyes, and i love seeing them together. absolutely love their dynamic, their progress from enemies to lovers (somewhat) was certainly the cherry on top. seeing their cat and dog disagreements when their fragile bond was still developing to their lighthearted banters when they were already a couple was definitely fun to watch.the fact that they both traveled back in time makes it even better. i suppose i was anticipating the reveal to be made much earlier so that they can depend on each other with their knowledge of the future and become such a power couple. but then, the delay does work in its own way to deliver the intended storyline and make them face more individual growth that way. yes, there were unneeded setbacks because of it and i would say its typical for a drama to add some level of drama to a smooth sailing plot. however, it worked out naturally to strengthen their bond and the argument was a completely normal irrational human reaction for people in love, and they didn't escalate it for ridiculously too long which i appreciate.
the ending could have been better and it is pretty obvious how everyone reviewing was rather threw off because of the last 10 minutes of the drama and set the ratings very low for this despite initially wanting to give an almost perfect rating. i am disappointed with the ending myself, but i must say it could have been worse and i'm glad it wasn't as bad.
there was a chance of them making lin zhi hua never part of the journey and it was all just a dream for her Alone. and i would say that kind of ending would have been even more horrible, i would've hated this drama to the ground. the fact that he still retains the same memories as she does shows that the dream was maybe perhaps an actually reality that did exist for both of them.
as much as she felt lonely waking up from a dream where she lost all the accomplishments and connections she built up, it would have been far more devastating to know that it was all just a dream and the very person who was right there to experience and build it up with her, was never part of the journey to begin with and treats her coldly like a stranger with no attachments. that, would have been horrid had they decided to take that route for the ending.
yes, i hated that all the effort they put thru in their second life has all but vanished. i hate endings where "it was all just a dream" bc it makes all the journey come down to nothing but one person's fantasy. all the people that were able to make different choices and become better people. their family, friendships, financial, academic, and business problems, all of those that they were able to overcome in the second timeline has been reduced to nothing.
but i believe the writer intended to emphasis that these two lovers were fated for each other regardless in whichever timeline they're in. they were able to persevere so much together in the second change timeline. sure enough, they're gonna be able to persevere more together in the original timeline.
like what zhi hua told xue jiao in the last episode, "i can create another company ten thousand times. but you're one of a kind." emphasising that whatever troubles that comes my way, it doesn't matter as long as i have you with me. it can be assumed that is why he left the company after waking up from the elevator coma. it was already infested with too many 'bugs' and right now, he needs to reset and start back from scratch.
perhaps there is a possibility that all of them can have their character developments in the original timeline, albeit much later in life and after creating even more problems for the people around them. but i assume that is the intended message with the final scene showing shi yun and ming ze meeting each other again, where shi yun is the one going after ming ze instead. hints at an open ending that change is possible, even in the original timeline.
[found out that there was censorship towards the time travel genre as it disrespects history and promotes superstition. so i think i can understand now why the ending was the way it is. however, it does give me the perspective that the author intended the story to end differently and it only turned out this way because of the ban which is unfortunate. great story though, but could've been better.]

I love both leads... I love them so much that I watched the drama while it's still on going which I rarely do...I love the story, how the leads corrected their mistakes to be a better version of themselves. As well as the people around them.
But why do they need to give it an ending like that!!!
I especially feel bad for the FL' s brother:(
