Same genres for both dramas: thriller, detective, mystery… Coroner’s Diary is the best detective drama in 2025 so far with exciting plot, excellent acting, and perfect visual with great cast.

Ning Jin Hai is an assassin from Bai Yu Jing - a place where homeless women gather and train to become female assassins. These assassins are then dispatched under the name of “Yin Niang”. This drama tells the story of the “Yin Niang”.

Feng Miao Jun, a princess of the fallen Anxia Kingdom, crosses paths with Yun Ya, a cruel master from Wei. Despite initial distrust, their fates intertwine. Together with Master Mo Ti Zhun and Saintess Han Yue, they become close allies in their battle against the Heavenly Demons. Through trials, love, and mutual support, they grow into powerful beings capable of facing all challenges.

For those who enjoy a gritty investigative story, then Justifiable defense is a good watch. Both tackle the impact of convictions on the lives of the accused and sentenced.

Both dramas involve detectives taking a practical approach to solving crimes (as in, staging a crime scene, taking in all clues, etc).

Both also seem to be more male-centric with less romance, which IMHO is good for detective stories. Both also involve (some) humour.

Synopsis:
