Never-Ending Summer — A Love That Hurts, Heals, and Stays With You
Never Ending Summer is one of those stories that quietly gets under your skin and refuses to leave. It doesn’t rely on loud drama or unrealistic twists—it hurts in a very real way. The kind of hurt that comes from misunderstandings, sacrifices made in silence, and love that never truly fades.

Hard drama to move on from
This one of my top fav 2026 modern dramas. The storyline was just good i loved that it didnt drag or have such a slow burn romance. Bao shang en and daniel zhou chemistry is off the charts i hope they do another drama together. Daniel first sniper butterfly and now this he is def ml material. I never wanna see sml like he was only for your love. I know some fans were annoyed that cut some stuff from the novel but thats how works they can't always fit everything. Def recommend this drama thats why i didnt put too much in my review just watch it.Was this review helpful to you?
Enchanting
Wow - Loved it, loved it. From the chemistry between the leads, the story, acting and the Osts! So beautiful and painful. And the ending just make you want to re-watch it from the very beginning. Highly recommended. One of my favorite now of all time. The love story and character developments are beautiful to watch. The cinematography is magnificent, especially the scenes of the main cast as teenagers and adults. Don't miss out on this gem.Was this review helpful to you?
Zhou Keyu - Yearner God
This series completely wrecked me. I spent a day and a night binge watching and have been mourning not being with these characters anymore. The OST is outstanding and very playable, I have already rewatched several episodes a few times, and I can't stop thinking about the story overall. The breakup arc is extremely frustrating but extremely understandable as well. I felt as if my own heart was broken several times over. Both leads are superb and fully immersed in their characters.
Zhou Keyu especially stole my heart though. To say RAW emotion is an understatement. Give that man all the awards and all the yearner roles 💜🫣💜

frickin goated show i love it sm
def one of the best modern cdramas i've watched! perhaps one of my top 10 dramas of all time. the romance is just sooooo good and the angst?!?! ugh i frickin love bao shangen and zhou keyu mannnn they're both so fine and ugh i want both of them frzhou wan and lu xixiao's chemistry is through the roof! its so insane. the tension?!?! ugh too good. the acting was just phenomenal
there's def some plot holes and ?? moments, and the ending like you don't really see much of characters from previously but they wrapped it up pretty well. i wish there were more episodes with zw and lxx!!
i think the storyline was well written. the story hate is mainly because of like why zhou wan did certain things but you gotta keep in mind that this girl went through so many traumatic events all before the age of 18. like she never got to experience being a kid because she had to grow up so fast. and ofc there will be times where she does something and you're like ?? but keep in mind this girl is 18. like come onnnnn give her a break TT
also the ost is just perfection *chefs kiss* not a single flop they're all bangers
yea not a single bad thing to say... its just that good
p.s. zhou wan's outfits throughout the whole show?!?! she looked sooo good. her stylist needs a big fat kiss fr
note: 2nd (10 years later / adult) arc starts ep 20

idk
The chemistry was amazing, the plot was engaging, the emotional scenes hit hard, and the OST was beautiful. The leads being close in age made their chemistry feel incredibly natural and believable. What impressed me the most was how perfectly they fit their characters—it never felt like they were acting. It felt like I was watching real people living through those moments. Was this review helpful to you?

Perfect Casting and Chemistry but Uneven Timeline Distribution
The casting in this was perfect. Both the actors gave off the vibe they needed for these characters. Bao Shangen did so well like her crying scenes genuinely had me feeling so bad for her.Honestly the yearning in this drama was next level like it had me hooked from the beginning. I also love the character dynamics. I like the side characters and I like how they didn't take up too much of the drama and how most of it was focused on our main characters.
They also did a lot of tropey things like him backing her into a wall and if done wrong it would be very cringey and hard to watch but since they have such a natural chemistry they pulled it off really well.
My main complaint was the timing of the drama. For a 29 episode drama why did we spend like over half the time in the past. I feel like it should've been half and half not like 20-9. At some points in the past the drama felt like it was dragging abit. I think we should've spent more time unpacking Lu Xixiao's pain and what not in the present. I also think the transition back into their relationship in the future could've been smoother. It felt a bit too all of a sudden to me and didn't make much sense. I wish I saw Lu Xixiao get more mad or something because it would've been valid.
Anyways this was a very good show that I would definitely rewatch one day.

Nine Episodes In and I'm Already Not Ready for What's Coming
After 9 episodes, Never Ending Summer has completely won me over. What started as a slow-burn youth romance has become a deeply emotional story about loneliness, family wounds, and finding comfort in the right person at the wrong time. Zhou Wan and Lu Xixiao's relationship continues to be the drama's biggest strength—every interaction feels earned, from their quiet conversations to the countless moments where they instinctively look out for each other. I especially love how Lu Xixiao keeps acting indifferent while constantly showing up whenever Zhou Wan needs help, while Zhou Wan gradually allows herself to lean on someone, even though not fully, but she is really carrying herself very well, even though she has always learnt to carry everything alone. The drama also does an excellent job balancing romance with the heavier themes surrounding Zhou Wan's grandmother, her mother's abandonment, and the complicated connection between the two families. Rather than relying on dramatic twists, the story builds its emotional impact through small moments, lingering glances, and unspoken feelings. Knowing that this is ultimately a story about love, separation, and reunion makes every happy scene feel bittersweet.
Nine episodes in, the chemistry between Bao Shang En and Zhou Keyu is carrying every scene, and the emotional tension keeps getting stronger. If the drama continues at this pace, I'm not ready for the heartbreak that everyone knows is coming.
dreading the inevitable separation storyline.

worth it to watch if you want a drama to watch when bored
I absolutely loved this drama, it was executed perfectly and with the right approach. Its just that it felt so wrong that the grandpa told wanwan that she had to break up with him. i felt that was so rude considering what happened before that she had lost her dad her grandma and her mom didn't love her. But i understand the grandpas worries, and i'm so thankful that wanwan ignored him later on still dated the male lead. The cast was really good as to where even if he went close to her i had butterflies in my stomach. Also i loved the aunt and how supportive she was she literally said chase after her if you want i'm not stopping you. i also loved how well they portrayed the characters feelings through the screen. knowing everything that was happening made it so much easier to connect with both characters and feel what they feel, and i haven't seen like that in a drama in a while. but the story was good overall its just that i feel that it was rushed like the directors were trying to finish the drama as fast as they could and the love felt rushed. also i couldn't understand when they were together or not. back when they were 18 he was chasing her but i couldn't understand if they were dating or not because they seemed so close to not be dating. I feel that if they cleared that up it would've been a 10 for me. but that all i really loved this drama overall and would for sure watch it again. Was this review helpful to you?

Their Chemistry
I personally enjoyed Never Ending Summer. The chemistry between the main leads was sweet, and many of their scenes felt natural and heartwarming. The drama has a light, youthful vibe that makes it easy to watch. However, the story is not perfect. Some parts felt slow, and a few situations could have been resolved more quickly with better communication. Still, the emotional moments, friendships, and character growth kept me interested throughout the series.
Overall, if you're looking for a comforting romance with lovable characters and a nostalgic summer atmosphere, Never Ending Summer is worth watching. It may not be a masterpiece, but it's a charming and enjoyable drama that leaves a warm feeling.
