Reveals & Betrayals

THE ACTION. THE TENSION. THE SUSPENSE.

😨

This will probably be my LONGEST post yet, so buckle on!

Predictions for this episode:
~ 2000 Flashback - Another episode, another time I am wrong about my 2000 flashback TT There is still next episode!
~ Rift between Day & Night - I was correct about the rift about Day & Night, but I was wrong about the when. lol Looking at the teaser for episode 8, it seems that the rift will start in episode 8 and will probably last for 2 to 3 episodes.
~ Day Lashing Out at Dream - I am glad I was wrong about Day not getting angry at Dream even though he will still be in the right if he did. It makes sense that he didn't lash out since when Day met Night for the first time, he shows he is good at controlling his anger and focus on the task at hand.
~ Confrontation with the Stalker on the Rooftop - I was kind of right about them getting confrontational with the stalker, but I was wrong about the when and the who. Apparently, only Day will have a proper conversation with the stalker next episode. I was also wrong about the when and who with the rooftop scene. I mistook the professor for the stalker.
~ Night's Car Accident - As for my Night surviving the accident prediction, I was completely incorrect about that. A few episodes ago, I thought a car caused Night to bleed, but I didn't stick with that thought and changed it to someone attacking him with a sharp object since the blood spilling out a lot didn't look like it was caused by blunt trauma. Even if I did stick with the thought, I would still be wrong. The reveal that the car hit Dream took me out. Hopefully, it didn't took her out as well.
~ Dream Talking to the Curse - Dream is not resting this episode lol. My prediction that the curse was going for her is right (I think?). It looks like the curse is threating her more than talking. Most of my predictions were wrong, but the one that I got right was a big one.
~ Stalker is a Good Guy - I knew the stalker was a good guy! Never lost faith in him for a second! Okay, that was a lie... I was switching sides left & right. His actions were so sus! However, I had some faith because I don't think they will make the obvious suspicious-looking guy actually be evil for the purpose of throwing people off.

Moving onto the plot, the episode starts off with merging some of the last scenes of episode 6 with the first scenes of this one, which I really like as it slowly reminds us where we left off. Although, who could forget that Ozone was kidnapped?! The episode was tense throughout as the gang was trying to find Ozone and Ozone trying to escape from the stalker. Or, should I say Kit? We finally know his name and finally know what his purpose is: to stop the curse & the professor. I can't believe my theory was correct since episode 2! However, as much as most of my theories were correct since early on, I can't quite figure out how the show will end and what are the fates of the characters, but I will explain more at the end of this post in the theories section. One thing I do know is that the curse is getting stronger by the minute. The fact that it put Dream into a trance-like state to make her go into the fire escape is scary since I didn't expect the curse to have that much power where it can make people do things. At this point, it looks like it is saving its strength by taunting them with messing up the network signal, playing with the lights, and pushing Dream down the stairs. Well, so I thought, until Dream got rammed by a car! Apparently, the taunting period was not supposed to last long. Also, I saw some people say the characters should learn how to look both ways before crossing the street, but Thai people tend to drive pretty fast and the traffic there is bad. Plus, even if they were super cautious, they will still get hit as the curse is powerful and the drivers should be looking clearly while on the road. Anyways, besides me rambling about Thailand's traffic situations, I want to say that this episode is the most intense one so far and the tension will continue to rise even higher with Dream's life currently on the line.

Unlike last episode where I was complaining quite a bit on filming techniques, I don't have anything major that is bad to say here. The directing was very clear & direct, which is important since the 4 of them were split up for half of the episode and there was a lot of information given, so it is crucial for the viewers to not get lost. However, one thing that I was confused about was when Dream said "Could it be that you guys are together?" when Day complained to Night about the tracking app like did the app suddenly started working because it didn't seem like it, but that is more of a screenwriting problem than a directing one. The camera shots were cool, especially with the overhead shot where Dream is looking up through the numerous levels of the library and the dream sequence (it looked so believable). If I were to complain, I would like more camera angles like one to show the distance between Professor Wiwat's car & the gang and one to show Dream & Night noticing Day before running to him for the purpose of enhancing the scene, but that is a minor thing to criticize. I did get a bit annoyed at one point with the camerawork where it focused too long at the door, but I didn't took points off of that as I didn't want to nitpick. Moving on to editing, which I never talked about before, I wanted more cuts between the scene of Dream running down the stairs of the fire escape & the scene of Ozone running down the stairs of the apartment building, in order to add more contrast between the parallels of them being in a similar situation of escape. Lastly, the action scenes of the back-and-forth struggle between Kit & Ozone looked really natural. It is not a hard scene to pull off as there is no fighting, but sometimes actors whose characters that need to kidnap someone tend to be afraid of hurting a person and it shows in their actions by having a weak grip & awkward posture.

As for the acting, it was great as this episode brings a lot of difficult high-tension scenes and the actors delivered. Gun really killed it here as he had the hardest part due to him having minimal lines because he had to be knocked out for 1 part of the episode and had his mouth duct taped for the other, yet he managed to showcase extreme fear & desperation to escape while still being in the character of Ozone. Another character whose part was hard is Day. Pond had to show anger, fear, and desperation while having to restrain all of those emotions, in order to effectively find Ozone. He is great at showcasing the character's emotions as I can see that Day is trying to restrict from lashing out & breaking down rather than seeming to have no emotions. Pahn has been good as always. I really like her scene when she was explaining to Day & Night with what has happened to Ozone. She did well in expressing emotions of nervousness and concern. Last but not least, Dew did well here. I like the scene when he ran to Dream at the end and when he was trying to save Dream from the fire escape because I can see it in his eyes and eyebrows that he is worried. Hopefully, I will see more emotions in the next episode as he will probably have the most emotional scenes there out of anybody.

This episode is what I have been waiting for in terms of theories.

First off is the 'Professor Wiwat & Kit are curse partners' theory. I am so happy I got that right! I was so ecstatic that I replayed the scene 5 times lol. The title sequence really helped me create that theory as it showed Kit early on and it had his picture right besides the professor's. Plus, there is a scene of both of their eyes right on top of each other, showing a paired element & contrast. I wonder how did they had the curse to begin with? Did someone else older transferred the curse to them or were they the first people to have the curse? If they were the first people to have the curse, I think they are twins and their father made a deal with the devil for them to survive birth (lol I am laughing as I am writing this). I think someone older transferred the curse to them as the professor knew Day was born right at noon unless their mother gave birth to twins with a 12 hour gap or there are other people with the curse before Day & Night.

Next, lets talk about the fact that Kit is a good guy. I was changing my mind every single second, but I still had a bit of hope left. During the episode, I was trying to convince myself that he is not evil as villains tend to have a better plan of kidnapping someone. Like, he didn't have a hidden weapon, he kidnap Ozone at a public place with security cameras (even though he knew where most of them were), let go of Ozone when he tried to unlock the door, didn't took away his phone, and left the door wide open when he put Ozone down onto the sofa. I think if he was evil, he would have thought more into his kidnapping plan. I was so happy when he turned out to be good. However, a little part of me thinks he will sway to the dark side a bit towards the end because he is so tired of suffering all these years and get a better deal/reason to side with the professor. If that happens, I believe he will be good again. This is assuming that he is still being affected by the curse. I think the professor transferring the curse only impacts him and not Kit, which explains the constant moving and the lack of experience with people. However, even though it only affects the professor (I assume), two instead of 1 baby is involved. Also, I do think Kit is somehow affected as maybe what Wiwat did protected him from the curse killing him (assuming the curse kills the cursed person once there is no loved one to kill off).

As for "the professor transferring & renewing the curse" theory, that haven't been proven or disproven yet, but I think we will get our answer next episode. I don't know if he only needs to transfer the curse once and just need to renew the curse for Day & Night every 4 years by killing people or he has to transfer the curse every 4 years by killing people, meaning there might be a bunch of people being affected with the curse. I think the former might be true. Also, we don't know if he needs to kill people to renew the curse yet, but I still think that is true, which goes to my theory of him being the 2008 killer.

Lastly, why will only Night die? Is Kit also autistic or somewhere in his research, he found out about Night's fate? Either way, why only Night and why does it look like that Professor Wiwat only interfered with Day's birth? As said before in my last review, was Night destinated to have his mother died (cursed or not) or Wiwat was involved, but we don't know about it yet? He doesn't have to be the doctor for Night's mother to be involved. When I saw the teaser for next episode, I thought maybe he will die because he joined forces with Wiwat, so he probably died after a fight with Day (accidently) or died after a fight with the professor (maybe he will betray Wiwat last minute). I was thinking that is a possible reason, but I remembered that Kit does not have psychic abilities (I assume), so he can't know that Night will be "evil". Another reason I thought of was that maybe the curse kills the cursed person when there aren't any loved ones left to kill, which does explains why Day say" tell me how you're still alive when you are born on Leap Day" to Kit, but that means Dream has to die too and the visions haven't shown that Dream will die. To sum this up, I think the most possible reason is Night was destinated to have his mother died (cursed or not), but I don't know why he will die because of that.

By the way, I wonder is Kit the older version of Day or Night? I think Kit is the older version of Night, mainly because he is wearing all black lol and I think they are not going to have both Days be on the good side and both Nights be on the bad side.

Before I end my theories section, lets form one more theory. How will the curse end? I feel in my gut that this show will have a happy ending, but I don't think everyone will survive. I think the professor or Kit (please don't let it be Kit) will die. Or, everyone survives, but what the professor did will come back to bite him since he is messing with dark magic. I am trying to think on how to end the curse once and for all. Maybe there needs to be a huge sacrifice like all of them need to die or one half of the pair needs to die. Or, destroy the thing or person that created the curse. I wonder if they need to end the curse at a specific time like the stars need to aligned in a certain way for that to happen. If that is the case, do we have to wait for leap day in 2024 for that to happen (assuming only Leap Day is the day where it is possible to end the curse).

Here are the predictions for next episode:
~ Day will begin to trust & work with Kit (I am so looking forward to seeing more of Kit)
~ Night will begin to trust & work with the professor (not saying fully work with him, but something will be formed slowly or Night will think more about his offer if Dream survives by herself)
~ Dream will probably be knocked out for the rest of the episode, but will survive (too early for her to die)
~ The curse will come for Ozone next (I don't trust the blinking lights)
~ Rift between Day & Night (probably will last until episode 10 or 11) (maybe a fight will happen next episode or the episode after)

Favorite Scene: Kit talking to Ozone (been waiting to hear his voice for ages) & Dream being hit by the car (I know. I'm a psychopath lol jk I just really liked the emotions portrayed by each of the 4 mains & Pon (Kit) and it is a great transition to the next episode)

I gave this episode a 10. I did had minor issues with it, but the importance of Kit in this episode and the stellar acting of Gun really changed my mind. I was thinking of giving a 9.5 before, but that wouldn't be fair as I was complaining a lot last episode and I gave that a 9.

I finished my review earlier than expected, so time to watch episode 8!

P.S. Two episodes left until I am caught up!

P.S.S. Ozone & Day were so smart here. I love that Day have a tracking app on Ozone's phone just in case if he wanders off. Also, Ozone got into his phone very smoothly like I would have been caught so quickly due to mine not having a fingerprint scanner.

P.S.S.S. I don't know if it is just me, but young Kit looks pretty attractive.

P.S.S.S.S. When the camera zoomed into the news articles that Kit had, I noticed that 1 of them was titled "Truck Crash Kills". Was that regarding Kit's loved ones or Day & Night's? If it is Day & Night's, did Day's grandparents or Night's dog died by a truck since we know nothing about 2012? However, I tried looking at the year and it looks like it is in the 2000s since I only saw 200x. If that is the case, then maybe it is Kit's since that doesn't match up to Day & Night's. I also noticed that an article say "Mass Shooting Kills Two," referring to 2008. However, in episode 3, when Day was reading an online article, it says that there were 20 victims, so that is probably a production error.

P.S.S.S.S.S. I was correct. This post is 2,942 words long. OMG!

Keeps getting better and better....

What was the point in kiddnaping Ozone? To talk? Why not just go up to Day and talk to him, he tells Ozone to tell Day about what they talk about but not to tell Night, Hello dumbass you have a mouth use it with Day and tell him yourself, no reason to scare Ozone like that you creep.

Why can't they ever LOOK before walking onto/across a road! That will save soooo many in Asians dramas.

What I don't get is the dreams Ozone has been having abouy Night. Leap Day kills the ones they love not themselfm so was Ozone really dreaming about Night, or it was Dream he was dreaming about but it just looked like Night?

I knew there was something with that Doctor, he just looked like someone not trust worthy.

Hopefully we can get some answers in the next ep.... Hopefully Dream makes it. I feel so bad for Night, he needs something good in his life to stay good.

Every episode is more dangerous than the last one

Wow, this episode... there was just soooo much. First of all, there was Ozone who was kidnapped by this guy. Then, Dream was locked in somewhere and fell down the stairs. Ozone knocks out and before he wakes up he has this crazy dream. And wow, it seemed so real. I thought this actually happened and was so relieved when it wasn't. Next, the kidnapper guy who's been stalking all of them reveals to Ozone that he shares the fate of Leap Day with that prof. What???? How???? He sees that Ozone got his own phone and called Day. So Day heard everything. Meanwhile, the prof is there. When Ozone leaves he calls to Night, tells him to stay put basically so that he won't risk getting hit by a car. Just like Ozone saw in his dream. But then, Dream runs towards Ozone and she's the one getting hit by the car instead. I have so many questions rn. I can't even tell how many. It's crazy. This drama is absolutely crazy. Please make next Tuesday come fast!!!
