DISAPPOINTMENT.
frankly, it was a complete disappointment. i was a huge fan of pit babe the first season. poohpavel is one of my favorite couples. the story progressed very slowly, and what should have been a big event in the last episode was quickly wrapped up. i haven't read the novel, but it was clear in the script that there was a major flaw. i'm fucking tired of alan and jeff, and it was clear from the start that alan was an asshole. i fucking hate him. charliebabe's acting was great as always, but they were sadly wasted because the writing was bad. i'm not even talking about kimkenta. they were the only couple that touched me emotionally in the last episode. i had tears in my eyes when kim and kenta said goodbye. the fact that kim never left kenta was the only thing i expected while watching the series. they were the couple who truly deserved a happy ending.i would have loved to see more scenes of them. sonic and north's story was boring and childish. they couldn't even talk openly and made each other suffer for years. chris's breakup speech to pete was so accurate and heartbreaking. it was nice to see a mature couple. at the end of it all, charlie, who had lost his memory and didn't even know what he was fighting for, figured everything out again. it should also be said that while the series was airing, i don't know what was going on in those heads who wanted willy and babe to be together. willy openly sexually assaulted Babe. i don't understand how they can still call someone like that attractive and want them to be together. still, it was nice to see charlie and babe get married at the end of it all. congratulations to them. Was this review helpful to you?

Definition of lazy writing...
I'll try to go by parts, first of all, CharlieBabe's storyline was a mess since the beginning, nothing about what happened to them brought anything to the plot, I was really excited about seeing them again, but I was so disappointed. Now, AlanJeff, another mess, first Alan went to the very man who abused HIS boyfriend and best friend and stole blood of said best friend's boyfriend and they didn't even get mad at him? Suddenly we have to be understanding because he wanted to protect all of them? He should have talked to them and make a plan at least, I think since last season they should've know by now to not work alone.
KimKenta's storyline had so much potential, Kim was the only one who truly cared about Kenta, wanting to make sure Kenta knew he won't leave him behind and suddenly he doesn't even ASK Kenta to go to Korea with him?
NorthSonic deserved more screentime too, they did them dirty.
Finally, why were Winter and Willy at the wedding? The ending was rushed and didn't make sense.

Too. Many. Characters.
It was not great to me, and did not live up to the hype. I loved the first season, like really loved. I think I've watched it 7 or 8 times. And I am a big fan of the cast, of all of them, so I was really looking forward to this season. I waited until it was over to watch so I could get the full, immersive experience, I really wanted to like it more than I did. They probably shouldn't have done a 2nd season, but since the first season was so popular I can understand wanting to capitalize on that. But honestly this ruined a lot of the characters for me. The rest of this review is my opinions of the characters and how the series portrayed them. There were just WAYYYYY too many characters, no one's story felt complete, I was so let down by the storylines of the side couples and characters. If they were going to have that big of a cast and make so many couples they needed to do a 24 episode season.
Apparently I had STRONG feelings about this series, I realized as I was writing how much I actually didn't like it. So be warned, there is probably unpopular opinions coming up.
I KNOW IT'S BASED ON A BOOK AND THERE WILL BE LIMITATIONS ON WHAT A SERIES ADAPTATION CAN CHANGE. I HAVE NOT READ THE 2ND BOOK. THESE ARE JUST MY OPINIONS ON HOW THE CHARACTERS WERE PORTRAYED IN THE SERIES ADAPTATION.
Pete trauma screwing his unrequited dead loves twin was weird, it would have been less weird if they had more screen time to grow their own story and develop a relationship. Though they do good NC scenes, it kind of felt like that's all the relationship was there for. I did like Chris though, his motivations were clear and he had no connections to these people so I wasn't expecting anything of him and I wasn't annoyed or offended at his actions like some of the characters were. Once he caught feelings (and got caught at Way's place) he was honest with Pete about his background and purpose. His conversation with the other 2 lab workers about disappointing someone was very cute, you could see character growth. And I'm glad he stood up to Pete about not being a stand in for Way and leaving so Pete could figure himself out. I just wish we got to see it.
Alan going bad guy because he's older than his boyfriend and wants to be stronger was also weird. I can kind of understand the trying to save Kenta and Dean and going to Tony on his own, but the please give me special alpha powers was unnecessary and a big let down for me. It felt like he was saying powers are the answer to everything when he knows how much Jeff and others have suffered with powers. Jeff, well he was just kind of there, like the first season he's Charlie's confidant, but other than that he's not much of a presence in this season, too many characters and not enough time. Though him and Dean were funny together, and I am glad they redeemed Dean.
And speaking of Tony, immortal special alpha powers. Like why? He was a great villain in season 1, and I know we're already in the realm of powers, but giving him this overpowered ability to bring him back seems lazy. They could have created a new villain, someone taking over his empire, or something. And making Winner his main assistant/henchman, why? He was such a wimp and he showed that in season 1, it doesn't make sense that Tony would pick him. The end when he's running away from Kim and company was very funny, though I can't believe they let him go.
Willy as a villain didn't make sense, and yes he was forced into it blah blah, but if he has the power to freeze time why did they need to go the seduction and almost SA route? Wasn't that done enough in season 1 with Way? Bad storyline. Just no. And once again if he had more screen time maybe he could have been a complete character. But nope. Bad guy does bad things, gets caught, helps good guys, the end. He needed depth and we needed to see his redemption.
And Charlie. He was the worst. In the first season he did everything without telling Babe because everything was for Babe, he loves Babe, must protect Babe at all costs. Then he gets mad at Babe when Babe goes to try and pretend seduce Willy without telling him. Like the nerve! He pretended to die and almost ruined Babe!!! I don't think what Babe did was right, but what right does Charlie have to be so pissed? And this season he continues to play the hero martyr by breaking up with Babe and moving out, then quitting the team, because he's worried Tony will hurt everyone around him to get him. This man had no character growth. How is he still repeating the same patterns when he has seen how much they hurt the person he loves more than his own life? I understand the desire to create the power nullifying drug, but wasn't he an editor? Why does he need to practically live at the lab, what does he even do there other than get constantly injected and monitored? When Babe was crying at the garage saying Charlie loved him more when he was chasing him it was so sad, and so true! But Charlie does everything for Babe including sacrificing his relationship with the man all for Babe's own good, and are we supposed to be ok with that because he just loves Babe so much? Other than Babe's failed pretend seduction I actually liked him a lot. He passed the broody never love anyone phase and is trying to own his love for Charlie and have a great life with him. If only Charlie would cooperate. On the Charlie and Babe storyline the amnesia was unnecessary with the way they did it here. Maybe if we had seen their interactions more and Charlie re-falling in love with Babe it would have been fine, but it was so rushed and glossed over that it felt like it didn't add anything to the series.
I'm glad we got North and Sonic together finally, but they needed more air time, we needed to see them being a couple. Sonic came back, they danced around eachother, Sonic got frustrated, they're both insecure, then boom they're together, the series is wrapping up and Sonic leaves to go finish school. There was no payoff to their buildup, and no I am not talking about NC scenes, so once again it felt like they were being coupled just because they could.
Lastly, Kim and Kenta. They deserved more. I do actually understand and respect Kim's decision to leave and not ask Kenta to go to Korea, and Kenta's decision to live for himself finally. That was probably what I understood most about their relationship. We barely saw them together and then bam Kim likes Kenta. How and when did that even happen? I like the actors as a pair but it came out of nowhere and was put in just for the sake of pairing up the actors, at least that's what it felt like. Maybe if they had more screen time before the confession it would have been more believable for me. Then after that it's all Kim loves Kenta who loves Pete who loves deaf Way and is trauma screwing dead Way's twin Chris who caught feelings for Pete in return. Kenta gets captured still only contacts Pete when he's undercover, and then it feels like he basically imprints on Kim because Kim keeps coming to his rescue, is the only one showing up for him. That's why I liked how they ended, it wouldn't have been believable if they were all of a sudden a couple. Or maybe it would have if we had seen more of their relationship growth before Kenta was captured. If we had gotten any context about their relationship, anything that would show them growing closer other than Kim consoling Kenta over Pete and rescuing him from fights I would have been all in on KimKenta, but there just wasn't enough. I do hope they get their own series, ASAP, as the leads. They deserve it.
Once again, no I haven't read the 2nd book, and now I really have no interest to, so I don't know how closely the series followed the source material. If they were following it maybe they shouldn't have. It would have been better to be a sequel seperate from the book. Inspired by the book, based on characters from the book, but done with the production team's own writing, I think that could have been better. If they already weren't following the source material closely then I don't know what they were doing.

Second Time Around
For me, this second season delivered a more engaging experience compared to the first. While it retained the super melodramatic flair and high-octane action scenes that defined the series, it also leaned more confidently into its emotional core. The love scenes still brought that signature raw passion that fans have come to expect. The plot remains a bit chaotic, darting in multiple directions, but I found the twists and turns far more compelling this time around, even if some story arcs felt rushed or underdeveloped. Visually, the show continues to impress with its production values and cinematography. I also noticed an improvement in the acting. I especially liked the characters of Willy and Kenta and the chemistry between Alan and Jeff. That said, I do think the season could’ve trimmed a few episodes. Some storylines dragged a little, and tightening the narrative might’ve made the series feel even sharper. Overall, I was entertained. 4 out of 5 stars. Was this review helpful to you?
pit babe season 2
well I thought that the ending was pretty good but halfway through it personally I got a bit bored but I am happy to say I stuck with it because the ending was nice and wrapped everything up. I would say the actors did a good job and its really a fun but a bit stressful watch because I was worried for the characters. Was this review helpful to you?

Pit Babe 2: I wanted to love this, but the show refused to let me
From the absurd storyline to the painfully bad writing and that forced “let’s make everyone a couple” cliché, Pit Babe 2 was a slow-motion disaster. I honestly don’t even know how I made it to the end. It dragged forever, and when it finally did end, it felt like a mercy.Storyline:
The first season already wasted its one unique advantage: "racing"! It’s a theme I’ve never seen in another BL, and as someone who loves both engines and BL, I was genuinely excited. Finally a story not set in an engineering faculty with the same recycled “university love” plot. But racing here? A background prop at best! Apparently, anyone could just walk onto the track, touch a helmet and suddenly they were a professional racer. No training, no experience... Charlie went from being a complete beginner in season 1 to landing in top positions and random new additions like Dean and North were suddenly in the top three despite never being shown practicing or properly learning. It seemed like North started after Alan named him. Until then he always made videos and lives with Sonic. And of course, every competition magically ended with Team X-Hunter sweeping the podium. Always the same people, always the same results. No real rivals, no tension, no sense of realism. Apart from one recurring antagonist, Willy, no one else, not a single racer outside their circle, ever made it close to the spotlight. It made the entire concept of “team racing” feel like a running joke. When you introduce competition, at least make it believable. Otherwise, it’s just cosplay with engines.
Then came the plot twist overdose. I hate when villains turn into immortal demigods who can’t stay dead no matter how many times you kill them. If Tony had actually stayed in his grave and the story focused on the races themselves, maybe it could’ve been watchable. Instead, we got a circus. The drug experiment plot? Peak of absurdity! For half the series there’s only one “successful subject - Willy” and suddenly, by the finale, everyone survives, conveniently, all the main characters. Alan and Kenta stroll through the experiment like it’s a spa day, no trauma, no recovery time, like Willy had to do. Alan, who was older than everyone and had serious health injury and still pulled through? Yeah, a good one. They even skipped the whole chip implantation scene but somehow Tony could control him right away.
And when Jeff nearly died from his ability development in a few days but Charlie could handle it perfectly fine days later until the end of the series? Don’t even get me started. The writers completely forgot how to write. The moment Way’s long-lost twin appeared, I nearly closed my laptop. A perfectly Thai-speaking (instead of English), accent-free twin who grew up in the US and lived there his whole life? Sure. Because that’s totally how language works.
Oh and Dean... The guy who literally tried to kill Babe in the first season is welcomed back into the team with jokes and smiles? What kind of alternate reality is this? No one in their right mind would say, “Yeah, come back, buddy!” to a man who once tried to murder them! They would have trauma for life instead.
And of course, the cherry on top... instead of actually wrapping up the storylines they already had, the writers decided to turn Pit Babe 2 into a mass-produced matchmaking event. Two main couples were more than enough to explore, yet somehow, we ended up with almost the whole cast romantically paired off like it was mandatory. Instead of focusing on real character growth or giving existing arcs a proper resolution, they just kept throwing in more ships nobody asked for. It felt like a fan service in action.
By the end, good triumphed over evil in the most painfully predictable way possible. But it didn’t feel like victory, it felt like the writers ran out of ideas, threw on a happy ending and called it a day.
Characters:
Kim:
I actually liked that Kim left the team, it was the only logical thing. He saw there was no room for growth as a racer. But then… why was he still there? I never understood why his character stayed in the story at all. After everything he went through in the first season... nearly dying, getting dragged into that entire nightmare, any normal person would’ve packed up and gone back to Korea. He was just a professional racer Tony hired, a regular guy with no idea about the chaos happening behind the scenes. A more realistic storyline would’ve been him returning home and trying to rebuild his life after the trauma. Instead, he somehow decided to stick around and risk his life again once it was revealed Tony was still alive. For what? The man barely had a reason to stay, let alone get involved again. As much as I liked him in season one, it would’ve made far more sense if his only scene had been him boarding a plane out of that hell. His presence in season two felt forced, like the writers didn’t know what else to do with him.
Kenta:
God, what wasted potential! I loved him from the very first season. He actually had one of the most grounded, psychologically real storylines. When someone raises you from childhood, even through abuse, that bond can become the only form of connection you know. It’s the same twisted logic that keeps victims tied to their abusers, tragic but real.
But season two gave him almost no room for self-growth. And while I did enjoy his chemistry with Kim, their pairing made absolutely no sense. It felt forced and completely unrealistic, especially considering his long-standing feelings for Pete. It was so out of character it almost felt like fan fiction written by someone who never watched season one.
Willy:
One of the few genuinely interesting characters and he was saving the show for me! I didn’t like what they did with his storyline, though. There was so much untapped potential in exploring his background, his past and the reasons behind his behavior. He was layered, complex and carried the kind of charisma that made you want to know more.
Milk actually nailed the role!!! Every scene he was in felt alive and that’s saying a lot given how dull everything else was around him. But him celebrating on Charlie's and Babe's wedding was totally OFC!
Charlie:
I couldn’t connect with him in season 1 and unfortunately that didn’t change in season 2. Pooh just can’t act. He got slightly better in season 2, but when you put him next to Pavel, who completely owned his role, the difference was almost painful to watch. Charlie’s expressions never matched the emotion of a scene. He always looked flat, detached, like he was reading lines off a teleprompter. And the character itself? Stuck in a loop. No development, no growth, just the same secretive, self-sacrificing pattern over and over again. He constantly kept things to himself, carried every burden alone and made reckless decisions that hurt everyone around him, especially Babe. Their relationship lacked trust, lacked support, lacked everything that makes a partnership believable from his side. Watching them was like replaying the same toxic cycle from season one just with different lighting.
Babe:
He was the only reason I made it through the first season and the reason I even bothered starting the second. Pavel brought him to life so naturally that every emotional scene hit exactly as it should. He has this rare ability to pull the viewer right into the story, to make you feel what his character feels. But in season 2, Babe was pushed more into the background. He carried the season 1, yet was treated like a supporting role in the sequel. A massive waste of talent and character potential.
Tony:
Tony wasn’t a deep or fascinating villain, but at least he was believable. And honestly, that’s more interesting than forcing him to have some tragic backstory. People like him exist in real life: selfish, power-hungry, driven purely by greed and control. He didn’t need a grand reason for his cruelty, his motivation was simple and disturbingly human. He stayed consistent throughout the series, showing zero empathy for anyone, not even Babe in the end. He didn’t love him; he wanted to control him. That sociopathic, narcissistic energy was played perfectly and I’ll give him that. He wasn’t the kind of villain that blows you away but he was portrayed realistically.
Everyone else? Forgettable filler. Background noise in a story that didn’t know what it wanted to be. But thanks to this series I discovered Pavel, Milk and Garfield and that is at least one positive thing I found on this disaster.

STORY
Was Pitbabe series 2 worth watching NO. Whoever wrote the script for this second series said lets do the direct opposite of what all the fans want. It wasn't a patch on Pitbabe one. It was a complete turnaround and it sucked. It was as if the directors and the scripwriters had lost their memory and justmade a complete hash of series 2. It turned into experimenting with drugs with names like the skill erasing drug...What's that got to do with motor racing.. It was laughable.. as for the bare chests and the kissing which to me was overkill The whole series was pointless. So
a big disappointment. The cast has only followed what's give them. Only my opinion.

Worst than season 1
Season 1 was nice and different to all other storylines I have seen before. There were a few meh moments here and there but nothing too bad. Season 2? Was very excited and thats what ruined it. I expected the storyline to progress, stay different and unique, give us the same emotions but with more intensity. Not only did the storyline get super messy, but it became unwatchable. It felt like i was forcing myself to go through each episode. The cast was the same as before, which i liked, but the plot was really going from bad to worst, at many moments i found myself closing my eyes from how bad and toxic it was.Was this review helpful to you?
Honestly, I can't lie, the plot doesn't make sense but it's nice to watch
I have to say, I am only here for Kimkenta. I didn't start the series for them obviously, I started it for the main characters but damn, it seemed like they didn't need season 2 or something. So I'd have loved if they did a season 2 where they show them all Happy in their relationship without the extra drama and focus on the side stories relationship because Babe and Charlie are doing very okay to me. The whole thing doesn't make sense but I'll still say it's a manageable series. Was this review helpful to you?

Level Down!
Everyone changed and not for the better. What was previously an entertaining series turned into a snorefest of stupidity. S2 was very flawed with very little entertainment and a healthy dash of cringe. Every single time Papa and Mama were said, I vascillated between rolling my eyes or watching on mute. After 1 yr:
Alan, who would have been open with everyone and never hurt anyone, decides to go to Tony for help. Tony, who had robbed him of Way. Yes, that Tony. He showed how frail mentally he was when faced with aging and how human. Becoming Tony's victim and puppet was just sad really. Why try to become invincible? Jeff lost his reclusiveness but became bold and boring. Being with Uncle Alan turned him into Uncle Jeff.
Babe, Babe, Babe. He became stupid and more reckless. By all means, follow the perp to the bathhouse, whom he suspects has powers, but he doesn't know what it is. I'm not sure if I wanted Charlie to save his butt. Literally. Charlie decides to take away Jeff's powers without thinking of the consequences. Stupid. So he has his, Babe's, and Jeff's which caused a system overload and memory loss. Only at the end, would this prove to be an asset on meeting Tony. The question to ask here, why wasn't this thought of before?
Kenta was caught, escaped and allowed them to recapture him again. Let's put that down to all the hits he probably took in his head while working under Tony. Kim was sitting around being a babysitter for an entire season. Save that drift in the car to save Kenta. He was like a comma in a sentence. Just there.
North was more direct with his bestie in S1 but suddenly shy in S2. Sonic wants the relationship but wants North to do the asking. Hmmmm, why? They were open to each other in S1 with no secrets.
Way was interesting. Chris is not. The most interesting thing he did was sit on Pete. When compared to S1 CharlieBabe and AlanJeff, it was a meh kinda moment.
Pete, well, what can be said. He had a "deep" love for Way by keeping a "shrine" for him. Chris steps into the picture. Suddenly, Way became just someone he knew. Loyalty flew out the window the second his nose flew wide open. Very wide. The many times Pete's house was entered by anyone who chose, uninvited and unannounced, and caught before or after the act, well, it did not have the wow factor the writers had hoped.
Two people stayed true to character. Winner remained a weak lackey, and Tony returned as a losing villain. He had all that money and all that power and couldn't do anything that could change outcomes. He should have stayed dead. He rejuvenated to create poor schemes that backfired and remained on the losing end. One would think that capturing Babe from the first episode to lure Charlie would have made better viewing.
I loved the character of Willy. He was the only reason to reach episode 12, but in true stupid fashion, as this was the S2 common thread, it was wasted. He could have done better. He had guile, intrigue, and charm. He could have snapped those fingers in episode 1 and saved us at least 9 episodes of chronic stupidity by all.
The writing depreciated greatly in this season. Save to addition of Willy, the script was dull and repetitious. None of the characters has layers to peal back like Way did. Other than the engines revving, everyone just stood around and chatted. At this rate, they should not think of continuing with another season unless the acting and script get a major overhaul. Though it was great to see them all together again, it was not worth it in the end.
Copious amounts of coffee will be needed if watching.

This 2nd Season was Doomed to Fail
Like what I said in the headline, this whole season was doomed to fail. They started out very strong in the first few episodes, yes, but from the very beginning this whole thing was not going to be successful. Problems started for them when the author decided to remove the omegaverse from the 2nd book, which angered so many fans, since that was the whole plot of the first book.
The reaction from the fans basically led the whole production into a scramble. When the director said that they will keep the omegaverse plot, a lot of fans became optimistic, and they continued to be optimistic until around episode 5, when everything became a mess.
By the time Episode 12 came out, all hope was lost.
Let's just say the only thing worth watching in this series is the acting, since none of the actors slacked off, they played the parts given to them nicely.
I also liked the fact that they changed NorthSonic's ending, and made them become endgame, since they parted ways in the novel. And I liked that they changed Charlie's amnesia from permanent to temporary. these are the things that ruined the novel for me, other than the removal of the omegaverse.
If you wanna watch it, watch it, because a lot of the episodes are entertaining. But don't expect too much, specially towards the ending.
