A mixed bag of pros and cons with a few pretty good kiss scenes.
I know Cheng Yu Feng (the ML) is capable of some pretty brilliant performances, but this isn't one of them. However, his portrayal of this character was solid, and I think he did the best he could with what he had to work with, considering the mediocre script and rushed feel of the production. For the FL, this was sort of a breakout role for her and I think she also did pretty well. It wasn't anything super spectacular, but you could tell she was putting effort into taking this lead role seriously and I think with experience she will grow into a really amazing actress. The bgm/ost were actually not terrible, which to me is a nice surprise for a short-length c-drama. The wardrobes were very nice, and some of the settings were beautiful and interesting -- although some of the interior shots were tres tragique. The script had some points that could have made it really great. But it also was packed with a lot of npc-level dialogue, cliche moments, and storyline fails. The side characters and backstories are not fleshed out properly, the whole thing feels like a half-baked budget production that just wasn't planned out carefully.
I found it particularly annoying that the ML and FL don't share a lot of onscreen chemistry moments. Their kiss scenes are really good, and there are some scenes where you can feel a little angst and passion rise from the actor's performances. So I know the chemistry COULD have been there. But actors just can't give their best performances when they're being rushed and poked and prodded at by a director and production team that won't devote the effort and time it takes to create the right atmosphere for their actors to actually ACT.
I wish ML and FL all the best on their future projects, they are both far better than this mediocrity. Is it worth a watch? Yes, if you're truly bored and without anything else to watch. It's not the worst thing I've ever seen. It just isn't very memorable.

No misunderstanding and strong till the end
So, the story was nothing extraordinary. Revenge plot and nothing exceptionnal or new. I found it decent, I wasn't really bored. Mind to say, I have different standart and rating for mini drama vs normal lenght drama. Also, when I compare, I compare with other mini drama. For me 2 different world😂 of course short drama are not the same bugdet, quality, name it,...But, what I liked to most about this is the relationship between the leads. Them working together till the ends after they started. No misunderstanding or problems between them. Slowly trusting, helping and sharing with each other. I liked that. Also, both were there for each other, ML supporting and saving her a few times. They found each other, FL definitely suffered more, but both suffered and their family trash (well again FL is definitely worst, that mom was horrible and money hungry, felt so bad for FL). That scene in the last ep, when she got the call from the police and she said "I have no mother", I was like go girl. I loved that scene when they both severed things with their family and met. We could say they are both alone. The nephew wasn't bad but anyway
Chemistry was not bad to me, we got 2 good kiss too.
Acting was decent.
FL getting back with that annoying girl was satisfying at time
The beginning, the memorial and what they did with the ashes of the brother, that was horrible
The revenge could have been better and more satisfying for sure... but sister going kinda crazy, loosing her baby and everything. The mom in prison. At the same time, with the plot they made the evidences destroyed/lost so, it was still something I guess
Nephew was annoying at time, like bro she doesn’t want you.
Anyway, for a mini drama, I think it wasn't bad

Gems like “Two Foxes” are the reason we keep wading through low quality minidramas
Every year, over a hundred of minidramas come out (and I mean that literally). Most of these feel like you’re watching little more than a Wattpad story come to life. But you keep wading through them anyway… Why? Because gems like “Two Foxes” exist. This is one of the best short form dramas I’ve seen yet. It is an excellently delivered revenge story that keeps you engaged. You’ll inevitably watch it in one sitting.
Pros:
* These two leads are amazing. One one hand we have Jin Xu Yan (played by the always awesome Cheng Yu Feng). He is clever, complex, intelligent, and compassionate. He is Xinyan’s equal in wit and challenges her schemes. Ultimately, when they partner up, they’re dynamite together. On the other hand, we have Wang Xinyan. She is determined, clever, and morally ambiguous. She’s willing to live in the gray to avenge her little brother’s murder, and Cui Yi Liang does a great job demonstrating both her rigid and almost vicious nature brought on by her trauma while allowing moments of vulnerability and growth to creep in. She development as a character is excellent.
* Production. Minidramas are often know for poor production. The cinematography isn’t great, the costume budget is small, the music is too loud, etc. But “Two Foxes” manages to deliver a quality drama that feels like the budget is bigger than it probably was. Again, it stands out as a gem in the Minidrama world.
* The storyline. Is it new? No. Were there tropes? Yes. But the truth is, “Two Foxes” has engaging plot that keeps you watching. The ultimate antagonist is written so much better than many short form drama baddies. Her acting in her final scene where she literally bludgeons someone to death was absolutely spinechilling. The unraveling of the mystery of Xinyan’s brother was done well too, as was the romantic development between the leads. And, in the end, we find ourselves with a satisfying happy ending.
Cons:
* So much more to be explored. Because it is a Minidrama, some of the subplots and characters needed way more exploration. This left you feeling somewhat unfulfilled after it was said and done. If they were going to attempt this much depth from their supporting cast, this was going to need to be a longer drama. They bit off more than they could chew here.
* The evil half-sister…. What can I say? She was awful. Now, I think she was written just crazy enough, but the actress failed to deliver this. Ultimately, she wasn’t a Joker-esque crazy villain… She was a psycho who annoyed the heck out of you. In comparison with her mother, the main antagonist, these weaknesses were glaring.
* A little too much “slow” in the slow burn. Our leads had amazing chemistry; so having us wait and wait for them to finally take the step from confidantes and partners to lovers drove me crazy. If this had been a full length show and we had waited until episode 22/24 for them to actually get together, I would have given up. Their kiss scene was amazing, but we only got one… It felt like, given their chemistry, we needed more from them.

Underwhelming mystery-romance tale
I ❤️ Cui Yi Liang in False Face and True Feelings & enjoy Chen Yu Feng's dramas. When I saw this drama advertised on iQiyi, I was pleasantly surprised. What I liked:
1. Wang Xin Yan characterisation - I like her determination to seek justice for her bro. She's flawed but not silly nor annoying. Cui Yi Liang was great in her role.
2. Guo Xing Ye - Wow, he was visually stunning in this drama. Acting wise quite good too.
3. Revenge - Watched many revenge C dramas and this tale of revenge is quite refreshing. I ike FL devise different strategies to outwit her enemies and how she got ML to become her ally.
What I disliked:
1. Romance - Sadly it is underdeveloped. I wanted more from my two favourite mini drama actor & actress but they didn't provide much tension.
2. Xie Xin Ni - Possessive & vicious. I pity SML.
3. Mrs Xie - Evil & manipulative.
Favourite scene
Blue dress scene

Lackluster!! To put it nicely
The show is extremely boring especially the first 5 episodes were so annoying.. i personally hate the plots where one gender is given baised amount of spotlight. Take this drama for example ... The FL is out to avenge her brother ... But her plans ..her strategy ..her overall execution is so damn lame ..I mean you wanna enter a party and you have no preparation to obtain its gate pass you seduce a random Stranger and by default his pass was there in left pocket you get it and you enter .... Seriously writer you want us to believe this crap. ?!! As if this nonsense wasn't enough we get an over smart Ex FBI agent ML who reaches absolutely any place to turn the FL plans into big failure... At some point I was wondering if this invisible omnipresent ML might as well appear in my room ... Honestly speaking the entire show is bogus but first 5 episodes were intensely unbearable. The Character of FL is third class .. she is told to be a genius but her actions ... She walks into the obvious traps like a retard ... Has no survival skills and if it weren't for the ML she might have died before the drama even started.
ML character .another boring one ... Type of role that you forget withing 30 min of watching the show ..
There was one more shocking thing about the plot ... There is no normal parent here ..every parent is using their child either for business or for money ..no normal parenthood.. insane right?
Lead actors are okay ..FL is good looking her acting is okay .. ML not impressive.. this was my first time watching him ..and i already have enough.
Ost was good ..as per the theme of the show... quite apt..but plot is so mediocre that even fine BGM couldn't help .
You can watch this or you can watch paint dry. Truth me both have same satisfaction

Similarities to the Glory
I’m only a few episodes in but this show is the Chinese very of Korean version The Glory. They really didn’t change much. Still pretty good and the shorter episodes keeps you locked in. The 2nd FL is atrocious, but maybe that’s the point since she can’t do anything right. But since I know how this is end I will watch to see if maybe they will throw something in different from the Korean version. Was this review helpful to you?
