@Cesia_07
Can you tell me more about 8th prince arc? Is he a good prince to our cp? And how about prince xun's heir? Did he go againts our cp because of his loyalty to emperor?
8th prince, Changyan hates our cp bcos Huayong killed his uncle. He came back to the capital to confirm it. However even without it, Huayong already planned to kill Changyan anyway, so it doesn't matter if he is good.
Prince Xun is loyal and good. Huayong doesn't dare to touch him. Prince Xun, Changfeng, is loyal to the person who sits on the throne. So even if the reign changes, it won't affect his status/life/duty. Moreover, Changfeng is married to Shen Yingruo, and Xihe ensures her future with Changfeng. They might be on different sides, but Changfeng isn't their target. Well, they use him for their plans though.

I see... Thx u for enlightenment ✨✨
And what happened to 8th prince, did he die?
Well he did something terrible to Huayong before he ran away. But Huayong used 6th prince, Changyu, whom Changyan is close with, to capture him. I don't think it was stated clearly how his end is, but I assume Huayong killed Changyan after he took him to custody, in secret. The 12th prince, Changgeng, took over Changyan's army to help Xihe in the end.
The novel has 3-4 major enemies, but our cp literally killed/eliminated a LOT of people to clean up the cabinets and pave way for their son.
SasaRumi:
Can you spoiler me about terrible things he did? And are our cp is unscathed? And did 8th prince arc long? I already read until 300ch, its just too long 😂 just hope a little spoiler... I like 12th prince from the start ;3
Changyan's arc is the last 3rd of the novel. His story is the opening for the last boss.
Well, he possesses soul stirring skill which can control people. When Huayong is about to receive treatment for his poison, Changyan controls a slave to poison Huayong instead. Xihe is furious and wants to kill Changyan. In the end Huayong manages to capture him using Changyu.
Nah, our cp is so formidable, overpower and outsmart everyone. They do get hurt due to trap or sudden attack, but their revenge is far worse. That's why the title is "After I bloom, a hundred flowers die".

SHEN XIHE
The daugther of a general who defends the northwest border. She was born premature, so she is physically weak. She couldn't walk far, ride horse, run, or do anything a normal person can. Her father and brother are overprotective to her. Xihe is bestowed the title of Princess Zhaoning and granted a treatment equal of a duke.
She is skilled in perfume making and has a keen sense of smell. She can differentiate a smell and remembers the smell on each person. Bcos of this, she doesn't like being in the crowd.
Due to her weak physique and sensitive status, her 5 maids are all capable of martial arts. She also recruited a medic skilled in acupuncture.
Xihe doesn't like being touched by someone other than her family. She also doesn't like to socialize and doesn't have friends, Her first and official friend is Xie Yunhuai. Then she befriended Bu Shulin and Xue Jinqiao.
Shen Xihe doesn't believe in love and long lasting affection. She only believes in mutual benefits. She chose Xiao Huayong bcos she wanted an unfavorable prince. Moreover, the crown prince won't live long. Xihe treats Huayong respectfully and keeps reminding him about her principles and not to indulge in love. She wants them to be a harmonious couple who respect e/o, nothing more nothing less. But after being constantly treated sincerely by Huayong, he becomes the first man she ever loves.
“I have a question. It’s said that Gu Qing Zhi’s soul is in Shen Xi He’s body, with Shen Xi He’s memories intact. So, aside from the physical condition, wouldn’t her personality and principles also change, since it’s Gu Qing Zhi in Shen Xi He’s body? Or is the soul/body swap different in this case?
In most dramas I’ve watched, when a soul transfers into another body, the person may retain the original owner’s memories, but their personality, way of thinking, and behavior usually change significantly.
So if Shen Xi He’s personality and principles remain the same even after the soul swap, does that mean she only carries Gu Qing Zhi’s memories, but is essentially still Shen Xi He? Or is she actually Gu Qing Zhi, just using Shen Xi He’s personality to carry out her plans for revenge?”
Umm it seems you are confused. Your last paragraph shows it 😅 it is NOT soul swap.
It is explained in the novel in the early chapters, Shen Xihe is DEAD, drown in the river. Gu Qingzhi's soul took over the body. The real Shen Xihe is a pampered lady, that's why she has SIX maids. Weak, timid, coquettish and slow wit, just like any other noble lady who's never been outside.
Gu Qingzhi has Shen Xihe's memories, but her personality is still Gu Qingzhi. Her maids are surprised that their master changed drastically. The new Shen Xihe is cold, deadly, arrogant, mysterious and untouchable. The way she interacts with her father and brother is the same, adjusting to Shen Xihe's memories, but other than that, the new Shen Xihe has Gu Qingzhi's personality.
The author said: Gu Qingzhi blends with Shen Xihe and created a new Shen Xihe.
You can try reading first few chapters. The author explains everything about the characters setup.
