I love this series so much, i would watch it again and again yet still not over about the ending.

The series went all good. For me, there's no much of problem there except of these, i agree to that one review here saying it's be more epic if the plot executed well. It could have been more funnier. About the ending well its alright too but i kinda hope that they've added more episodes for Lin Yan's pov since he says that he also dreamed about Jicai. The bonding of Shen's family is so sweet yet chaotic, i like it when they're always welcome for others. I love the chemistry between the main cast😍. Overall, i love it and its so good to watch. I've been watching it 2x now😂

Fresh Ancient Chinese Drama with Food themes!

Honestly, I started watching this just for fun since I’ve been following Li Yunrui lately. But from the very first episode, it already hooked me , it’s fun, has a nice sense of humor, and never gets boring. Each episode tells different stories, not only focusing on the main characters, so it always keeps you interested to keep going.

What I love most is how this series actually gives a lot of life lessons, especially about family, self-growth, and learning to express your emotions. I even learned some things I didn’t know before, like how some people hurt themselves to shift emotional pain. There are also some fun facts about food here and there.

Even though it’s set in ancient times (and yeah, there’s always some revenge in the background 😂), the story still feels clear and meaningful. The acting is amazing and super refreshing. This drama definitely deserves all the praise! 💯✨

Started Sweet, Ended Dull

I went into this drama really wanting to love it — the concept seemed fresh and full of potential. A whole family time-traveling together? That was something new and interesting. I’d watched When Destiny Meets the Demon, which also plays with time travel, so I was curious to see how Ying Lu would handle a similar idea — and it actually started off well. The humor was on point, the sarcasm landed nicely, and the family dynamics felt warm and genuine. Even the romance had that slow-burn charm that made me root for the characters at first.

But somewhere along the way, I completely lost interest. By the time I reached around episodes 10 to 30, everything just felt empty and repetitive. I wasn’t emotionally invested anymore — I was just finishing it for the sake of finishing it. I was bored. The romance dragged on way too long, especially with the ancestor plot, which was just dull. The revenge storyline also felt hollow; it didn’t really define the character, and even the acting didn’t sell the emotional depth it needed.

As for the ending, it was bittersweet — at least they met again. The final scene, with him sitting on the chair as it snowed, reminded me of Kill Me, Love Me. It was beautiful visually, but it didn’t hit as hard emotionally, probably because I already expected the reunion from earlier scenes.

Overall, I’m disappointed. I truly wanted to enjoy it, but it just fell short. The humor turned silly instead of witty, the romance lost its spark, and the final twist — where the whole family resets back to zero — made everything feel pointless since none of the characters remembered their growth or experiences.

Would I recommend it? Maybe, if you’re looking for something light and don’t want to think too much between heavier dramas. It’s not terrible — the concept is good in essence — but the execution and writing were weak. It’s a drama with a fun idea that unfortunately never lived up to its potential.

yucky yucky yucky

yummy yummy yummy is another pretentious ancient chinese drama that begins its long tedious run with the overused time travel narrative. the acting and story direction are more than cringe. every episode is filled with unbearable jokes and superfluous plot that goes nowhere. and the music is just as insufferable

A spectacular drama you must watch! ?

A spectacular historical drama! Absolutely loved it! ❤️
Rating: 10/10
As a regular viewer who completely fell in love with this show, I can confidently say it is a true masterpiece! The story is captivating, beautiful, and keeps you hooked until the very last minute.
A huge bravo to the actors, especially Liu Xueyi (Lin Yunrui)! His performance was absolutely incredible, powerful, and deeply moving. The chemistry, the stunning costumes, and the emotional depth of the characters made this an unforgettable journey.
It is a wonderful, romantic, and highly emotional drama that stays with you long after it ends. If you haven't watched it yet, you are missing out on something truly amazing! 🌟

I'll Be Asking My Grandparents About Our Ancestors Incase I Will Also Time Travel Hahaha

Wang Ying Lu is my second favorite c-actress before Chen Du Ling and damn, her drama is always my comfort drama and dare I say that she is busy so busy promoting her 2025 drama's wahaha.

‎When I saw this, I thought it was so funny since her 2025 drama's is almost all time travel hahaha and this one was so different from the other drama since the whole family is the one traveling instead of her only like any other drama.
‎The first episode was so hilarious that I expected, and they are so unserious at the same time and also I didn't expect how long the episode will be before they will get together and how short when they are together like "😵" but that's fine because that's also the reason I'm staying till the end.

‎Now let's talk about about the characters, cause damn this may be long like essay thing cause I like them all and I will give a damn opinion in every one of them.

‎SHEN SHAO GUANG - She is the smartest yet sometimes the one who is hurt the most. I love her personality and dedication and I love/hate how she resist herself from falling inlove with Lin Yan because of that thought. I know many of you kind of hate her at that time but I'm not because if it's me, I would do the same. But after that, she is the most sweetest to be in the relationship.

‎LIN YAN - The man you are! I just feel sad about him when they tell him that they are lying to him but he can't resist himself to protect them because they are the one who literally the one who give him the love of parents and feel to have a family again, even if he got adopted, he was so hurt after realizing the truth of the case, but his dedication to break the rules of romance just to be together with A Ji is so heart warming (before they knew the truth).

‎SHEN SHAO JIE - Damn I think he is my favorite among all, he's so funny and even though he is the last to improve in the family, still he loves his family specially his child and he'd do anything to give her what she wants and that was so father code. Let me be for real, he's like my father and even though he doesn't like to express his love through word but he is so proud and supportive at us his child.

‎SHEN JIAN SHE - I also like him but this is not that much, he and Shao Jie is so canon with that "✌️" code of them wahahaha. Sometimes he kind of pisses me off because of "Great chief in Yong An" but he really love his wife and family, it just that he is hardly understanding the situation.

‎LI FENG XIA - Sweetest mother and how I love how she comforted A Ji the time she is hurting herself and she always the one who is always worried in every family members. Mother

‎SHEN YANG YANG - I really love how she rangebait her father so hard that's like she really knows him and even his that personality, she is still proud of him.

‎A YUAN - New member of the family!!! She is so loyal to them yet at the end I don't see her, just hope she doesn't go to Yun Lai Tavern, she's pitiful enough.

‎LIU CHANG - Favorite subordinate and bridge on the relationship of A Ji And Anran. Uhmm new crush unlock wahahha

‎PEI FEI - Okay, I thought he is a villain because when he becomes Lin Yan friend so easily, but he is my second favorite character here, he's so unpredictable like that 2 plot twist I didn't even think about back when I was watching the drama. I also feel sad about him because of his love story, and I understand him, it's like what he said that she is Deity while he is just a commoner but I just want to know who is his wife after all.

‎FU HUI - I love when I see princess that is so kind and you will ask yourself if it is a disguise. It's so funny when she is so worried that his husband will wake up hahahaha, that's loyalty (iykyk).

‎I actually have something to say to someone but it's getting more long.
‎But even if this drama ended quiet 50/50 sad/happy, I still have more questions.
‎Where did A Yuan And Li San go, Who is Pei Fei's wife, How did they retrieve the picture or did they think that Lin Yan is crazy when he said he has a wife, with that painting when they doesn't remember Shen Shao Guang.

‎But the ending is so different that other that just stare, and finally a good one but still, I really hate the fact that Shao Guang will fell Inlove to Lin Yan (modern) because he is the one who has the consciousness of Lin Yan back then but Lin Yan will live his life with only 1 wife, and that's Shao Guang.

‎It's so good even though the episode of them being together was too short, but still I love this drama.

‎I dare say, I like this time travel more than "When Destiny Brings The Demon" even though I ranked it higher that this. So It's HIGHLY RECOMMENDABLE!!!!

lots of comedy and light romance

The first five episodes of the series have aired, and as I watched, I realized, "Yes, this is definitely my show." It had great comedy and a bit romance, which I wanted. Yes, the romance was a bit light, but the romance that developed in the final episodes was very well balanced. The chemistry between the actors was great; in fact, the cast was very good overall.

We saw the couple in the modern age, yes, it would not be bad to see just a little more of them, I think, because I immediately became attached to the couple and loved them very much.

The Shen family was the most chaotic family I'd seen in a long time, and I loved them so much. Overall, this chaotic storyline made me eagerly await the series, which airs two episodes daily. Two episodes will air tomorrow, so be patient and wait. That's what I tell myself every day.

If you just want to relax and watch a beautiful couple without thinking about logical fallacies, don't miss this series, but if you want to watch a lot of romance, I'm sorry, you're in the wrong place.

This series is a chaotic yet entertaining story about a chaotic family, and it's got even me, a romance lover, hooked. As I said, the romance in the final episodes will leave you very satisfied, believe me. ^_^

Wish it stayed as lighthearted as the title

Nice to have a whole family time travel together and seeing how they come to love the ancient time period despite not having proper bathrooms and a dishwashing machine. The comedy was fun and it would have been nice to have a drama stay this way. Since it didn’t, they should have given this drama a less lighthearted title.

When a drama doesn’t engage me fully, I find it hard to overlook plot loopholes especially the biggest one at the end that left me with questions instead of a feel good feeling.

Why did the rest of the family not remember their time travel? Was it because the FL found love there so her heart is tied to the past? If so, who is the ML? Was he a modern day person who dreamt the whole sequence and time travelled the same way as the FL? If so, why didn’t he remember his modern day life when he was in the past?

Or was the ML not a modern day person? He travelled the opposite way from the past? But he mentioned that he woke up from a long dream about the FL… how did he fit into the modern day so fast to be able to find his way to his home dressed in modern clothes? If he time travelled from the past, shouldn’t he be an old man since we saw him grow old there?

As for the business aspect, it was another case of unrealistic business success with some little pitfalls. Also so few people managing the restaurant and there were times it seemed like no one is cooking but yet there was food to be served :D only later did they employ a chef.

Couldn’t really understand why the FL started getting more accessories in her hair and having it so elaborately made up to be super big. Those hairstyles are more in keeping with nobles who have nothing better to do than spend hours each day being made up instead of an entrepreneur who needed to get to her business as fast as possible each day.

The dynamics of the FL’s parents was interesting when they tried to explore the mother falling out of love but unfortunately not well thought out enough on how she fell back in love again - just because the husband showed more commitment to improve himself? That doesn’t help the fact that he didn’t understand his wife which lead to them growing apart.

Glad it was a happy ending though it was the classic 3-second version where they meet and the rest is up to your imagination.

Sidenote: Watched this before Love in the Clouds but didn’t realise I forgot to leave a review until I started When Destiny Brings the Demon and saw the same FL

This drama is an excellent blend of storytelling, performance, and emotion. It doesn’t try too hard to impress — it simply tells a story with honesty and purpose. Every episode feels meaningful, and every character has a clear arc that contributes to the larger narrative.
The direction and cinematography are outstanding, creating a consistent tone that enhances the story’s depth. The writing strikes the right balance between realism and drama, offering both emotional impact and thoughtful commentary.
What I really appreciated was how the show handles complex emotions with restraint. It doesn’t rely on exaggerated scenes to make a point; instead, it trusts the audience to feel the nuance.
The soundtrack and visual design deserve a mention too — they complement the mood perfectly. By the final episode, I felt genuinely moved and grateful for the experience.
This isn’t just a show you watch — it’s one you feel. A well-crafted piece of storytelling that reminds us why good dramas matter.

You are mine.

This is a fun, fun story of a family that went to the past and met the so-cold ancestor of them.

A tasteful and fresh drama where a family tried to survive in another era... great chemistry from the leads. Both leads were just wonderful.

I think they should have resolved the ancestor issue earlier to better savor the moments of their romance.

Overall it's a good watch... :)

Yummy Yummy Yummy: A Comforting Feast of Flavor, Heart, and Time-Travel Charm

I’ve only watched ten episodes so far, but I can already tell this drama has something special. The story and plot are genuinely refreshing — a modern family suddenly finding themselves in ancient Yong’an and trying to continue their food business in an unfamiliar world. It’s a creative concept that blends family warmth, time travel, and culinary charm all in one. 🍲

That said, the frequent repetition of the “ancestor” theme does start to feel a little overused and slightly slows down the pacing. But overall, the idea is fun and different enough to keep you watching.

💫 Performances:
The supporting cast really shines — they bring humor, personality, and life to every scene. Li Yunrui absolutely embodies Lin Yan. His performance feels natural and sincere, as if he’s living the role rather than acting it. You can see it in his expressions and subtle gestures — he owns the character.

On the other hand, Wang Yinglu still feels a bit disconnected from her role. I find it difficult remembering the female lead's name after ten episodes, and that says a lot. Some of her expressions feel off, much like in When Destiny Brings the Demon. It often feels like she’s performing rather than experiencing the emotions her character should feel. Hopefully, this improves as the story continues.

🎬 Production & Direction:
Visually, Yummy Yummy Yummy is a treat. The cinematography captures food scenes so beautifully that you can almost smell the dishes through the screen. The warm color palette — golds, ambers, and soft pastels — fits the tone perfectly. Costume design is also on point, mixing a hint of modern charm with classic historical aesthetics.

The music score is light, playful, and comforting — it enhances both comedic and emotional scenes without overwhelming them. Direction-wise, the pilot feels confident, though the editing could be slightly tighter. A few scenes linger longer than necessary, but overall the production quality is smooth and professional.

❤️ Final Thoughts:
Yummy Yummy Yummy isn’t trying to be an epic or overly dramatic show. It’s warm, cozy, and comforting — a perfect drama to unwind with. It’s one of those lighthearted series that can lift your mood and make you hungry at the same time.

If I had to rate it based on the ten episodes, I’d give it 7.5/10 — visually charming, well-paced (for the most part), and full of promise.

Empieza bien, mal desarrollo, final predecible.
