Wish it stayed as lighthearted as the title

Nice to have a whole family time travel together and seeing how they come to love the ancient time period despite not having proper bathrooms and a dishwashing machine. The comedy was fun and it would have been nice to have a drama stay this way. Since it didn’t, they should have given this drama a less lighthearted title.

When a drama doesn’t engage me fully, I find it hard to overlook plot loopholes especially the biggest one at the end that left me with questions instead of a feel good feeling.

Why did the rest of the family not remember their time travel? Was it because the FL found love there so her heart is tied to the past? If so, who is the ML? Was he a modern day person who dreamt the whole sequence and time travelled the same way as the FL? If so, why didn’t he remember his modern day life when he was in the past?

Or was the ML not a modern day person? He travelled the opposite way from the past? But he mentioned that he woke up from a long dream about the FL… how did he fit into the modern day so fast to be able to find his way to his home dressed in modern clothes? If he time travelled from the past, shouldn’t he be an old man since we saw him grow old there?

As for the business aspect, it was another case of unrealistic business success with some little pitfalls. Also so few people managing the restaurant and there were times it seemed like no one is cooking but yet there was food to be served :D only later did they employ a chef.

Couldn’t really understand why the FL started getting more accessories in her hair and having it so elaborately made up to be super big. Those hairstyles are more in keeping with nobles who have nothing better to do than spend hours each day being made up instead of an entrepreneur who needed to get to her business as fast as possible each day.

The dynamics of the FL’s parents was interesting when they tried to explore the mother falling out of love but unfortunately not well thought out enough on how she fell back in love again - just because the husband showed more commitment to improve himself? That doesn’t help the fact that he didn’t understand his wife which lead to them growing apart.

Glad it was a happy ending though it was the classic 3-second version where they meet and the rest is up to your imagination.

Yummy Yummy Yummy: A Comforting Feast of Flavor, Heart, and Time-Travel Charm

I’ve only watched ten episodes so far, but I can already tell this drama has something special. The story and plot are genuinely refreshing — a modern family suddenly finding themselves in ancient Yong’an and trying to continue their food business in an unfamiliar world. It’s a creative concept that blends family warmth, time travel, and culinary charm all in one. 🍲

That said, the frequent repetition of the “ancestor” theme does start to feel a little overused and slightly slows down the pacing. But overall, the idea is fun and different enough to keep you watching.

💫 Performances:
The supporting cast really shines — they bring humor, personality, and life to every scene. Li Yunrui absolutely embodies Lin Yan. His performance feels natural and sincere, as if he’s living the role rather than acting it. You can see it in his expressions and subtle gestures — he owns the character.

On the other hand, Wang Yinglu still feels a bit disconnected from her role. I find it difficult remembering the female lead's name after ten episodes, and that says a lot. Some of her expressions feel off, much like in When Destiny Brings the Demon. It often feels like she’s performing rather than experiencing the emotions her character should feel. Hopefully, this improves as the story continues.

🎬 Production & Direction:
Visually, Yummy Yummy Yummy is a treat. The cinematography captures food scenes so beautifully that you can almost smell the dishes through the screen. The warm color palette — golds, ambers, and soft pastels — fits the tone perfectly. Costume design is also on point, mixing a hint of modern charm with classic historical aesthetics.

The music score is light, playful, and comforting — it enhances both comedic and emotional scenes without overwhelming them. Direction-wise, the pilot feels confident, though the editing could be slightly tighter. A few scenes linger longer than necessary, but overall the production quality is smooth and professional.

Yummy Yummy Yummy isn’t trying to be an epic or overly dramatic show. It’s warm, cozy, and comforting — a perfect drama to unwind with. It’s one of those lighthearted series that can lift your mood and make you hungry at the same time.

If I had to rate it based on the ten episodes, I’d give it 7.5/10 — visually charming, well-paced (for the most part), and full of promise.

Empieza bien, mal desarrollo, final predecible.

Los primeros capítulos me gustaron mucho, me pareció novedosa y divertida; pero más o menos a la mitad de la serie la pareja principal se estanca y no avanza para nada hasta casi llegando al final. Fue muy estresante de ver y estuve a punto de abandonarla, de hecho, tarde más de un mes en terminarla por eso. Las tramas secundarias son interesantes y están bien llevadas, pero en mi opinión, lo que más nos interesa como espectadores en una serie de romance es ver a la pareja principal desarrollar su relación, pero si ese desarrollo se convierte en un "estira y afloja" de nunca acabar, pues cansa. Y la forma en que esto se resuelve en el penúltimo capítulo, así porque sí, porque al guionista se le ocurrió, pues es insatisfactoria. No digo que este mal, pero pudieron esforzarse más. El final (ya las últimas escenas del desenlace), son satisfactorias, aunque predecibles.

Familia, amor, diversión y comida

Esta historia es maravillosa, llena de comedia, romance, y una vida familiar muy loca, oh, por supuesto no me puedo olvidar de lo más importante, comida, mucha comida deliciosa.

Creo que fue un gran giro del trama que no solo la protagonista viajará al pasado, si no toda su familia, los Shen eran una familia muy excéntrica, era muy divertido ver cómo se adaptaron a la época antigua y como trajeron a ella cosas de su vida de la era moderna, a pesar de que eran un imán de problemas, porque a veces solían ser muy torpes, especialmente los hombres; la pobre Shao Guang tenía que lidiar con todo esto, para sacar a su familia adelante. Pero a pesar de todo eso, también eran muy unidos y eran nobles, se amaban más que nada y se apoyaban, y también a las personas que llegaban a su vida, incluyendo a nuestro maravilloso magistrado Lin Yan... Él era una persona que había sufrido bastante, perdió a toda su familia y el culpable fue quien lo crio y quien había querido como un padre, sin embargo al conocer a esta peculiar familia, se sintió amado de nuevo y les tomo cariño; hacía cualquier cosa por protegerlos, porque eran lo más importante en su vida, aunque al principio desconfiaba de ellos; obviamente ese amor y cariño más grande era para Shao Guang, tuvieron un comienzo por decirlo de alguna manera difícil, pero después de convivir y afrontar tantos problemas juntos, se dieron cuenta de lo importante que eran el uno para el otro, eran demasiado lindos, tenían una relación de apoyo y confianza mutua, y a pesar de todas las adversidades, jamás podían abandonarse del todo, así muchas veces lo desearan.

Fueron muy tristes y dolorosos los momentos donde Shao Guang trataba de alejarse de Lin Yan, porque al pensar que era su ancestro, sabía que era una relación prohibida, el pobre no entendía porque tanto desprecio y eso dolía aún más porque daba todo por ella; sin embargo el corazón es más terco que cualquier norma y siempre terminando acercándose cuando uno de los dos se encontraba en alguna dificultad.

Antes de hablar sobre el final, quisiera mencionar algunas cosas más que me gustaron de este drama; aunque habían varios personajes secundarios que eran divertidos y un gran apoyo para los protagonistas y para el avance de la historia, definitivamente mis favoritos eran el súbdito de Lin Yan y la princesa, eran súper graciosos y también fueron cupidos para nuestra parejita terca, que no querían en un comienzo aceptar sus sentimientos. Tampoco puedo dejar de alabar el maravilloso OST, nos traía a colación tantos sentimientos, era precioso y algunas canciones también quedaban perfectas para el tono jocoso de la serie y por último pero no menos importante, ameeeee las notas de comida que hacía Shao Guang al final de cada capítulo, no solo nos traía pequeñas recetas, si no también un poco sobre la relación y las diferencias que existen entre la vida moderna y la antigua.

Bueno ahora sí, el final... Wow, me hizo tener un caos emocional, me llene de felicidad cuando Shao Guang descubrió que Lin Yan no era su ancestro y pudieron dejar de un lado todas las dudas y temores, pudieron amarse sin límites ni restricciones, pudieron dejar de guardarse todos esos sentimientos que estaban reprimiendo, pudieron amarse sin más, pudieron demostrarse ese amor, acompañarse y estar juntos y felices... Pero por tan poco tiempo, no es justo que los separaran, ya habían sufrido bastante, mi pobre Lin Yan después de perder tanto y encontrar una nueva familia, no merecía acabar solo, de los 41 minutos que duró el episodio, estuve llorando como por media hora 😭💔 Aún así con tanto dolor (que jamás les perdonaré a los productores) sentí un rayito de esperanza con el final, Shao Guang también sufrió al volver al presente y darse cuenta que nadie recordaba nada y sabiendo que su amado también había sufrido su ausencia por el resto de su vida; pero su amor era tan grande, tan puro y tan fuerte, que cruzó las líneas del tiempos y el espacio, ese reencuentro fue maravilloso, estoy completamente segura que ese chico que se encontró con Shao Guang era Lin Yan, él la amaba tanto que su alma espero el momento adecuado para reencarnar y poder encontrarla una vez y tener una nueva oportunidad de vivir una vida juntos y felices a lado de su familia 🥹

Esto fue una historia increíble que me hizo reír y llorar mucho, antojarme de la deliciosa comida (y del protagonista también 😳🤭) y presenciar una historia de amor preciosa. Sin duda alguna quedara marcada en mi corazón y me la volveré a ver nuevamente, porque vale la pena sumergirse en ella. La recomiendo mucho 💖

Cuma siap² aja yang nonton tahan² emosi soalnya gue greget bgt ini nonton bapak sm anak laki yang rasanya bikin naik darah mulu😤

Drama ringan yang kental akan kekeluargaan ditambah bumbu komedi, beuuh paket lengkap. Drama ini menunjukkan pentingnya wanita di sebuah keluarga!!! 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ Dan jangan sombong!!! Karena yaaa... kena batunya aja😌

Eu amei!

Ele entregou tudo o que prometia: foi divertido, cheio de ação, com momentos emocionantes e muita culinária, que era o foco central da história.

A única coisa que, pra mim, deixou um pouquinho a desejar foi o romance. Eu esperava ver mais do casal, mas ao mesmo tempo entendo que a forma como ele foi construído era necessária pra história fazer sentido. No fim das contas, foi um amor puro, verdadeiro e atemporal, ele esperou por ela mesmo depois que ela voltou pra era moderna, e ela pôde assistir a vida dele passando no passado.

Esse amor que ultrapassa o tempo e as barreiras me encantou completamente. Foi um romance silencioso, mas profundo, e isso tornou tudo ainda mais bonito. Confesso que fiquei ansiosa por mais momentos românticos, mas os roteiristas souberam entregar uma conexão emocional que vai além do comum.

Também adorei a parte da vingança do protagonista e a forma como ele cria laços e amizades no meio do caos. A história da família Shen me emocionou muito… chorei quando só ele se lembrava deles.
E aquele final… quando ele diz que teve um sonho e sonhou com ela… Foi simples, mas profundamente tocante. Sou apaixonada por essas pequenas cenas cheias de significado. Valeu a pena! Eu sou muito apaixonada quando o casal tem esse sentimento que é único, me faz querer amar desse jeito!
