diva for sure

I started this show with zero expectations and I was happily surprised by how I've been attached to the characters.

Junior~aka penguin
He is so fun, diva behaviour, as zero survival instinct, like mister have a carnivorous boyfriend and he's like "you wanna eat me? go on! I'm waiting for you and my whole body is on display!". I just love the sass and the attitude, he's been bullied and when he understood that he was like "I'm not gonna play their game, I'm gonna set ✨️MY OWN RULES✨️ and fuck them" before walking in the school's hallway like a supermodel at the fashion week with his sports uniform turned into a crop top.

Sun~aka black panther
He's so down bad and head over heels for his boyfie, even at the smallest sulk he's like "I know you don't that on purpose but I'm still gonna give you the world and every stars in the sky in a golden plate". And my boy is so protective towards Ju, even before they really talked he's trying to help him not to be tangled into the bully game.

Mina~aka the goddess
She IS the moment! I love her with my whole heart and i wish we saw her more in the show 😭😭 Breaking the 4th wall and all this shit... I just love her 😭

Overall~
Super cute serie to watch with a light heart. I was there giggling and kicking my feet everytime they were cheesy, usually it cringe me a bit honestly but not with them.

More mature than I expected

I had no intention of watching this series. The plot, the poster, everything gave me an extremely childish idea and I already expected that this series would be another low-budget production with a terrible script.

And it was a huge surprise to realize that this series is actually very good. The production is really interesting and has beautiful photography. The story, despite the plot holes, is captivating. And the actors are excellent and have great comic timing.

It is a simple story, but very well executed. The highlight here is Junior. At times he seems like an animation come to life. He is an expressive, funny actor who managed to do very well in the more dramatic scenes.

The story could be better. There are many arcs that are abandoned or that could be better worked on. Nam's bullying, Junior's brother, Sun's past, the aunt's son who died.

At times the story gets too stuck within its own narrative and doesn't expand these arcs into other paths. The secondary couple, without a doubt, is one of the biggest disappointments. They just tease, but they don't get anywhere with them.

The final conflict is a bit messy and the direction and editing really struggle to create a cohesive scene. They leave a lot of points open - the fate of the animal traffickers and why Sun took so long to return.

It's not the best Thai BL of 2024, but it's undoubtedly a competent and dedicated production that delivers a different story with a cast that exudes chemistry.

I had this on my planned to watch way to long and kept pushing it away..

I was scared before starting this series. It looked low budget, boring and I was afraid the story was nothing for me, turns out, it's pretty much the opposite. When starting this series, I did dislike the designs of the penguins but after letting that go the series was amazinggg. It wasn't low budget, I do wished they had made the school a bit more mysterious but it was enough. It wasn't boring at all! It was pretty obvious what the story was about and I never got confused either.

I personally didn't expect this but I'm really happy I watched this in the end! I especially suggest this BL if you're just getting into BL, it's not complicated, it's cute and a slight bit of angst.

Cute

The story was a bit immature for me, but it was a nice story about sticking together. Being there for one another.

Acting though was brilliant. Ben who played Sun and Jay who played Junior were excellent. Last two series I have watched has had young up and coming actors and they have been so good and natural.
Loved Junior just so adorable and goofy and carefree but loved big. Sun just wanted to be loved, he was super reliable.
The two friend Jodd and Jeng were awesome. Not silly just normal good friends.

Younger people will love this series.

Wouldnt rewatch it but dont really rewatch anything.

Hope these actors go far, well done. Oh there kissing was so cute and age appropriate.

There was some funny parts in it, dont think everyone would of got. But it had me laughing.

Penguin Only

If you are inclined to watch this do not go into it with any expectations and you won't be disappointed. Yes it was scattered, poorly written and unbelievably stupid. I fully supported releasing the last 3 episodes together. Why stretch the unbearable? A better script might have them becoming shape shifters, exploring the world by night but living their animal form by day. Then a catalyst happens forcing them to make a choice. Their choice would include being adopted by Ton and Nam with Jeng and Jod as friends in their escapades. No, what we got was a whole lot of nonsense, with irritating side characters and with outlandish plot twists. Eliminate the rest of supporting cast and the money saved could have gone into more cgi to enhance the plot.

Then I remember Penguin and I'm okay with some aspects. He is innocent, naive, sassy with a big heart. He was the only reason that would excuse wasting 8 hrs of mind blowing nonsensical. Sun, rubbing his face against Junior aka Penguin and resting his head on Junior's shoulder while telling him how much he loved him, made for a very sweet moment. Junior crying in ep 10 undid me. His process of deduction and internal conversations are humerous. That is all.

Take Junior and Sun out and you can burn the rest. For relative newbies they were okay, especially Jay. I do hope they get better scripts because they are cute together. I can not recommend watching this. No, I really can not. Go to a real zoo instead.

Adorable WTH? that I Still Enjoyed

This is one of those shows where the message is about the journey, and the plot very much takes that route. I think this could have been stretched out to 12 episodes to give a little bit more of fleshing out because the ending was very rushed, as does it usually is. Ep. 8 is was pretty much all filler just to get to that end scene, the 2nd to last episode curse and then conclusion and end. I can't help but feel like I've missed something.
What happened to Junior's brother Little? Does Junior ever visit after he went to Bangkok?
What happened to Nam? He became a bully and then just fell off the face of the earth.
Did the 'bad guy' die? He was hit on the back of the head. Did he live and get rearrested?
Who was the guy on the phone?
How far away do Jeng and Judd live from the school because they got to Sun reaaaaally quickly LOL
How did Sun turn back into a human? How did he get from the hospital to Junior?
I honestly wtf'd my whole way through the final 2 episodes LOL

The plot focused on Sun and Junior's journey and everything else just danced around them.

I almost feel like we had another director for those final episodes. There was a drastic change of tone for me, so much so that the humour that was littered throughout the show, which I had been enjoying up until then, seemed really out of place.

Having said that, it is what it is, and I still enjoyed it but things did go wonky at the end there.

The CGI stuff didn't bother me honestly. Even that last scene of Junior fulfilling his dream didnt bother me. I get it. CGI is expensive. It's ok, I'm not going to be too harsh about it. Did laugh a little at Sun visibly sweating in his artic clothing with the wind sounds and green screen northern lights LOL

Overall, it's a sweet quirky show, kind of a filler for your afternoon type of show and I thought the ML's as newbie, did well for their first roles.
