Garden of Beauty

At the end of the Ming Dynasty, a trend of garden construction emerged in Shanghai. The Shen family built the Tianxiang Garden and created the spectacular scenery of the "One-Night Lotus Blossom," gaining fame in Songjiang. In this setting, Xu Xiao Chou, an intelligent young woman from the Xu family, married Shen Ke Hai. However, their happiness was short-lived. Xiao Chou's family became involved in a major legal case, and Shen Ke Hai missed the opportunity to help them, causing the couple to become estranged lovers filled with resentment. Despite the difficulties, Xiao Chou, an admirer of the Min family's embroidery art, faced opposition and founded the Tianxiang Embroidery Pavilion. By incorporating elements of calligraphy and painting into embroidery, she elevated the "Tianxiang Garden Embroidery" to widespread recognition.
