The title of ¨Invisible Us¨ says it all
More than a murder mystery, this miniseries is about the alienation of young adults within Japanese society. An incisive, well-written and well-acted but depressing tale that follows a reporter as she discovers not only the roots of the crime she’s investigating, but also that almost all her former classmates are already to at least some degree disillusioned with their lives only 8 years after graduating from high school. What keeps this series from being overwhelming dark is that in reconnecting and finally being honest with each other, several of these old friends manage to find glimmers of a way forward.This is not a light easy watch and perhaps not to everyone's tastes. But after a slow start, I thought it one of the best Japanese series I've watched recently.

im giving this a 7.5/10 because its not my type of drama. although it was predictable and overall, i kinda liked it thatway. the fact that they ended up solving everything in their own ways and kept supporting each other like they used to made me cry. after everything they have done to each other they could surpass it and try to start over.i have to admit too, it wasnt the best watch i've ever had and it got boring sometimes but its short and easy to watch. its realistic and i liked that part.

SNAIL PACED
I found this J-drama to be excruciatingly slow-paced, which made it quite dull to watch. From episode 4 onward, the pacing became so sluggish that it felt almost unbearable, to the point of being frustrating. Still, I managed to see it through to the end. The storytelling leaves much to be desired, as it unfolds in a somewhat circular manner, relying heavily on flashbacks. Unfortunately, the main characters are largely unlikable, which only added to the overall disappointment.(good point: good looking cast)

slow-paced drama and can be quite boring
Idk why I'm watching this, just scrolling the recommendations in the Netflix. All the main characters are very flawed except for Kitano and Lisa, I think these two are the most unproblematic, and maybe Ken too, ignoring the stabbing incident. And why did no one mention about how the fl cheated on her very nice boyfriend just for her ex crush way back in high school? 🤓 She didn't even feel guilty towards him. I also feel quite bad for Kitano and her bf 😮💨 And, the story is quite dragging, even for 6 episodes. I think the plot point is not that strong enough to make a drama. This might be good if this is a movie instead. But anyway, the fl is soo pretty heree, I think she looked prettiest without bangs ^^Was this review helpful to you?

"Can you see me?" ... there are none so blind as those who cannot see
WOW ... what a loaded and psychologically poignant story ... "Tomeina Watashitachi" or "Invisible Us" ... It reminds me of that proverb: "There are none so blind as those who cannot see"So many pearls of clarity and wisdom were slowly drawn out in the endlessly swirling muddy waters of life.
"Invisible us" due to the blindness and arrogant confidence of those who cannot see ... a condition that even the "invisible" themselves have ... "can you see me?" ... "can I see myself?" ... the psychological 'cover ups' we use to justify our narrow perspectives about ourselves and the lives of others ... the tragic knock on effects of that blind mind set has on the lives of so many others ... the way people use social media (amongst other things) to perpetuate this kind of blindness by canniblising others to invisibility and worthlessness in order to 'elevate' themselves out of their own 'blind' misery. That scene where everyone was too busy filming the stabbings then to render assistance ... "blindness' that is truly dehumanising ... both for the 'victim' and the 'perpetrator'.
Fascinating too how the cycle of tragedies in our lives also provide openings or opportunities to honestly face our own internal blindness and choose clarity ... there is a real humility and power in that process ... some people cannot do it and prefer to live in 'blindness' and render not just others, but themselves 'invisible' ... some are so overwhelmed they un-alive themselves or take it out on others ... some face it and accept the consequences and move into the light of awareness ... and , in turn, are liberated.
Yes ... this was very poignant and profound ... ladened with sadness and tragedy on the one hand and the gaining of 'liberation' from blindness of self and of others on the other hand. "Seeing" and moving forward in honesty, humility ... there is a gentle empowerment that comes from self awareness and ipso facto awareness of others.
It is 6 episodes with the pace of a slow breeze ... at first it feels so oppressive and 'hot' as if you are confined in a very narrow space with no fresh air ... but as things come to light ... as the characters take on board and accept the truths that are revealed, it feels less oppressive, the air feels fresher and less constricting ... just perfect to take you from blindness and invisibility to full sight ... 10/10 for me.
