Five Stars

Episode 17 is giving us two different kinds of chaos, and honestly, I’m here for both. Changxuan being caught in an ambush with his gun malfunctioning has me genuinely worried because this man is used to being in control of every situation. But the most interesting part is how the story keeps complicating Pingjun and Changxuan’s already messy relationship. And Jiang Xue Ting’s Japanese girlfriend showing up? Oh, this is about to get even messier. I need people to stop making Pingjun’s life more complicated than it already is. Also, Cheng Lei continues to be such a compelling presence as Changxuan; there’s something about his intensity that makes every scene involving him more gripping. The romance, the danger, the misunderstandings, and the political games are all coming together, and I can’t wait to see what happens next. 🍂

Loved it

Captivating storyline and the phenomenal cast. The staging and costuming deserve immense praise; it is clear that meticulous effort went into even the smallest details. Furthermore, the opportunity to immerse oneself in China during this captivating historical period is genuinely fascinating

Dropped due to mistreatment of animals

At the end of episode 17, the horses fall. If you look closely, the horses have their legs tied so that they will fall. I dropped this series IMMEDIATELY on seeing that. This is completely unnecessary and cruel.
