True Review

I personally love this drama it's such a great casting. The story is good but would been great if they had made it more clear in some episode. The starting got me confused but when i kept watching i got to know what's going and to be honest slowly slowly i love it. I completed the full series in one day without any break because when you start to watching you wouldn't be able to stop yourself from not watching. The story is good in the end. It tell us that when we search for love we should check near cause near us are some of the people who loves us more then we expect without much of expectations. But we should look for them. We should make them comfortable so that they are to be feel love too.

Watched this twice to fully appreciate. In general its a light romcom that gives us the escape we need from this mundane world. IN the 2nd half of the series, it gives us a point of view that is deeper when it comes to past relationships and moving forward to new ones. For the main leads, this is also the start of heartfluttering moments as the story finally focuses on them.

I recommend to viewers to get past the 1st 3 episodes to fully appreciate the series.

*Review: A Delightful Rom-Com That Balances Heart and Humor**

*

Romantic comedies often follow familiar formulas, yet every once in a while a drama appears that refreshes the genre with charm, wit, and emotional sincerity. This particular rom-com manages to deliver exactly that. Blending lighthearted comedy with heartfelt romance, the drama creates an engaging story that feels both comforting and surprisingly meaningful.

The plot revolves around two individuals whose lives collide in the most unexpected way. At first, their personalities clash—one is cautious and practical, while the other is spontaneous and unapologetically optimistic. This contrast becomes the driving force of the story. Their arguments are witty and playful, filled with clever dialogue that often leaves viewers smiling. What makes the drama stand out is how these comedic moments never feel forced; instead, they naturally grow out of the characters’ interactions.

Visually, the drama maintains a warm and inviting atmosphere. The cinematography highlights everyday settings—cafés, city streets, quiet parks—and transforms them into places filled with romantic possibility. The soundtrack also deserves praise. Soft acoustic melodies and upbeat tracks accompany the emotional highs and lows of the story, enhancing the mood without overpowering the scenes.

One of the most compelling aspects of the drama is its character development. Both leads begin with personal insecurities and emotional baggage, which makes their journey toward love feel genuine. Instead of instantly falling for each other, they slowly learn to trust, communicate, and grow. This gradual evolution gives their relationship depth and authenticity.

The supporting characters add another layer of charm. Friends and family members provide comic relief, heartfelt advice, and occasional chaos that keeps the narrative lively. Their presence ensures the story never feels too heavy, maintaining the perfect rom-com balance between emotional vulnerability and playful humor.

Ultimately, this rom-com drama succeeds because it understands the heart of the genre: love is messy, unpredictable, and often hilarious. By combining sincere emotion with clever humor, the drama offers viewers a feel-good experience that lingers long after the final episode. It is the kind of story that reminds us why romantic comedies remain so beloved—because sometimes, laughter and love truly are the perfect combination.

One of my favourite kdramas of the year!

I didn’t expect to love this drama as much as I do now. I thought we were going to get a cute romcom and yes we did get that but we also got to see so much more. The character development and the emotional moments made me fall in love with this drama. The way certain moments were so relatable made me love it even more and I know that I’ll be rewatching this drama again and again!

I would definitely reccomend you to watch this series!

I have just finished watching 'Boyfriend on demand' and I have actually really enjoyed it! It has been a long time since I have enjoyed a series and I finally did. In this series I did stand up, close my computer and think 'How could he/she do that' since you know sometimes you just want to tell the character in a series about something to help them understand what is happening but you know.
First of all, I did watch it because of Jisoo and Seo In guk but I actually realised that the plot of the movie was written really well and it doesn't get boring in the middle of it. I am glad I found these series and want to reccomend it to more people.
Hope you watch it!

Ignore the Obvious Haters and Watch BOD

I watched the 1st 4 episodes and I have to say it's an amazing drama with a unique concept of a romcom.

The cast give amazing performances and the cinematography was amazing.

Jisoo, in particular, gives a stand out performance. Her acting skills give emotional depth to her character. Keep in mind that she won the Outstanding Female Actress Award for her role in Snowdrop. She blends into the character of Mirae so naturally and she looks absolutely magnificent.

There are a lot of Jisoo haters in the comment section so my advice is to ignore and watch it for yourself.

It seems Kpop has strange fans who will go out of their bored lives to spread unnecessary hate.

Dissapointed

I was looking forward to the show actually. I thought that the ai boyfriend concept would be fun and fresh for kdrama after some while but it did not live up to my expectation. The concept was very interesting but execution is done so poorly i had to drop it. The plot is really boring and felt so draggy to the point that i just find myself skipping a lot through the episodes. Cringy and unexciting.

Everything about this show felt underwhelming despite the big budget and promos and they tried to make up for it with Jisoo's big popularity and the flashy hot oppa cameos. It just felt like an SNL skit at some point lmao

For the acting, I feel like Jisoo's acting skills is still not solid enough to be a FL. Her diction and weak portrayal was very obvious. There's definitely some improvement from her previous drama. Something about her acting feels flat AF i find myself getting bored. She's NOT extremely bad and is completely unwatchable but when she has to do funny scenes, she tends to over-exaggerate and it feels unnatural. The rest of the cast also has this 'extra' acting which was so unbearable for me (fl's bestie, office mates). I get that this genre is not supposed to be serious and light hearted but the the comedy acting didn't deliver. I feel like for cringey plots/concepts you really need good solid actors to make it less cringey and enjoyable. It made me realize how romcom type casted actresses are heaven sent

A feel good series just right for a weekend binge watch

I absolutely enjoyed watching Boyfriend on Demand. Light, funny, not too complicated yet very relatable. Just right for a weekend binge watch. JISOO portrayed Seo Mirae so well. I was impressed that she was able to handle all the diverse settings, the different characters that she needed to play and all the emotions that came with it. Plus, the insane chemistry she has with all the actors that played as her “boyfriend”. We saw many sides of actress JISOO through Seo Mirae and she absolutely nailed it! I would definitely watch it again.

Songs and story that flow together

The story in BOD is simple but relatable, showing the ups and downs of love through funny, sad and even frustrating moments that feel close to real life. The songs add to the mood perfectly. Seems light and playful when the scenes are silly, and emotional when the drama gets heavy that making the whole experience more engaging and heartfelt.

Like being talked through someone else's holiday photos

Boyfriend on Demand is the televisual equivalent of watching paint dry — except at least with paint you know something is setting. The drama is relentlessly episodic: this happens, then that happens, then they go somewhere new and repeat the pattern — but to what end? It’s not that nothing happens. Plenty happens. The problem is that none of it carries emotional weight. Because the stakes of these essentially transactional fantasy dates are so low, we have no real reason to care. Watching it often feels like being talked through someone else’s holiday photos — pleasant enough in theory, but entirely devoid of shared investment.

Most critically, there is no tension. No real “will they, won’t they,” because tension requires something to lose — and without character development there is nothing at risk. A fantasy of beautiful clothes and doe-eyed men is not a substitute for interiority. Aesthetic charm cannot sustain a story on its own.

I love a heart-fluttering, happy-ending romance as much as the next K-drama aficionado, and I have a high tolerance for lightness if there’s enough sincerity to carry it. But after six episodes, I had to step away. The result is a quiet kind of ennui — not because nothing happens, but because nothing truly matters. Without emotional stakes or growth, even the prettiest fantasy begins to feel hollow. And over time, that hollowness becomes its own kind of quiet desperation — a longing for something genuine to emerge and give it weight.
