Love the scripts
Not exaggerating but the last time I had good laugh for romcom throughout the whole show was 'my love from the star'.At first I thought it's just simply about her wanting to find bf then puff she met cute guy at work. But there's so much to it. She probably won't even use the device if her ex didn't show up with marriage news.
The writing really flows so well, from trying it just for her work to actually wanting to escape from reality. Even she knows it's affecting her in real world. Episode 3 is good, Eunho and her ex storyline overlap seamlessly. I'm surprised the chemistry with the ex is so natural too. The contrast from her friends who wanted to have fun while she's in it to find some peace.
I'm glad she found Park Kyungnam and overthrow her fear of commitment to new guy who might change from the first time they start their relationship.

Quirky & lovely drama on modern dating
I didn't think I'd enjoy this at all at first, but it really picked up and conveyed the themes in a fun, quirky way.Virtual reality dating/idealisation seem like they can protect you from disappointment, slow-burn, trying over and over again, missed timings, meeting the wrong person, the pain of breakups, making yourself appealing to others on first dates,, etc.. Real love is awkward a lot of the time and people make mistakes while expressing themselves in the pursuit of romance, but in the end that's what love is, and these many feelings that come with love and dating make us feel alive and human. That's the message I got from this drama and my overall stance on AI.
Chemistry between the main leads is just okay, though I really like In-guk's character. The office romance part is written quite well - how ML maintains professional boundaries while expressing his feelings with small actions and relying on "chance encounters" :)
I'd recommend the movie Materialists (2025) for those who enjoyed this one, as it is pretty similar in theme.

The concept is a swooning fantasy
This is my 2nd drama of Jisoo, and if you dont mind reading the other review on one of her dramas, it is clear I didnt watch this because of her.If you are looking for a romance turmoil of crinchy punchlines, cliché glamorous romance tropes with a sprinkle of modern tech, then this drama is for you.
I am personally enjoyed it very much. The kya screams, giggles and kicks in the air were plenty and I binge watched it within 3 days.
Read some knetz having issues with jisoo's acting, but then again, its knetz, they have issues with everybody (cough cough Seablings 🤣). But I thought she has done really well, improved a lot, and played the written character well.
The concept plot of the drama was really cool, they catered nicely towards the female audience as we are all aware the reality dating/marriage is cesspit of incels and toxic dangerous males.
It was so nice seeing the multiple faces of different mls. The chemistry between the leads was odd at first but you ended up warming up to them.
Gosh if only this futuristic tech becomes a reality in the future. Fl is living a dream ✨️
Conclusion: worth the watch, does tick the "must watch next episode now" box and worth even as a rewatch.

Light, cute watch
Light romance, without requiring much thought. The first two episodes are more of a lead-in into the concept. Episodes 3-4 the best of the entire season with an actual theme/story about first love and cherishing the good rather than bad moments. I thought that the following boyfriends will then help build more themes surrounding romance but no. I actually think introducing the ideal boyfriend character Gu Young Il was also random, and didn’t build Jisoo’s character. Definitely a drama to have play in the background for eye candy. Otherwise skip about.Jisoo’s acting definitely improved though and you can see this throughout. Seo Il guk is love as always.

Reality Isn't Bad After All
This drama is about Sep Mi-rae, a webtoon producer who doesn't go on a date anymore because of her past experience. One day she was given a chance to try a gadget that brings her to a virtual world with an ideal boyfriend she wants. After subscribing to a specific amount who can customise her ideal guy. She unexpectedly made a person who was exactly like Park Kyeong-nam, her work colleague that likes her. This drama reflects today's reality. How people want to escape it and experience a virtual world that seems perfect. Where you are the leading lady with your ideal man. It may seem happy at first, but if you think about it, it won't last forever. It was never real.
Just like how Seo Mi-rae chooses Park Kyeong-nam over her custom made boyfriend. Shows that choosing reality over your virtual fantasy was never a bad choice. It may be fragile, because you can't predict when people may change their feelings for you. But with holding on and understanding with each other, you can stay longer than you think.
Life was never a smooth ride in the sea, it may be in dating, family, work, and more. But accepting it can help you change to be a better person.
Reality may be fragile and imperfect, but it’s more meaningful than a perfect illusion that was never real.

Not Bad, Not Amazing
I tried watching this again several times and even fast-forwarded through a lot of parts. First, I’m not really a fan of the whole virtual world concept, although I can’t deny that I loved all the amazing actors who made cameos in the drama. I think I would have enjoyed it more if it didn’t seem to encourage the use of AI and instead explored its psychological effects. But of course, the tone of the drama is more comedic and seems to cater to single and lonely women.Second, about Jisoo’s acting. I’m not hating on her or on BP, but she still has a lot to improve, and I believe she could really nail it in her future projects. Her acting isn’t bad, but sometimes it feels like she gives off more of a supporting-role vibe. Her performance can come across as a bit flat, and at times she has the same expressions. Her chemistry with Seo In Guk also feels a bit lacking. However, this might also be a problem with the plot, since she dates several different men in the story. It’s difficult to maintain strong chemistry with the main couple while also building chemistry with the other characters.
Overall, this could still be a great drama if you don’t mind the things I mentioned and are just looking for something fun to watch, especially if you’re here for all the oppas. And if you’re single, feeling lonely, and work is stressing the hell out of you, you might actually enjoy this.

It was entertaining enough
I really liked the storyline of the AI boyfriend concept but I think they could have done more with it if they were a little braver. I am not talking about sex but they could have explored a bigger variety of boyfriend types rather than the stereotypical kdrama boyfriend/date.The main lead actor did a fabulous job of his character, showing a man who was introverted and not quite the normal, to me with all those little habits he was screaming autism at me. If you know you know.
I did like that no one was being followed by a serial killer for a change. No big dramas but misunderstanding because of lack of communication. It is understandable with him, but the female lead had already significant relationship experience yet she had no idea how to communicate? So it made any misunderstanding too cliche and well I really thought the lead actress was too cliche given that. Not like she is a young woman with no idea. And I didn't think the lead actress did a great job of being that character, the acting was a little dull for me.Her crying acting was very poor to me.
The 2nd lead actress did a great job of a interesting character. She expressed the emotions of the character really well and made her pretty classy and funny as well without being slapstick.
It had a lot of good acting in it, and some fun scenes but It isn't on my rewatch list unfortunately.

Not for me but you decide for yourself
I wasn't impressed by the show.I thought acting was stiff and only surface level.
I thought the story was underwhelming. And that wasn't the word I thought of when I first heard news of this drama. I saw potential. I think a story about the emotional rollercoaster of a virtual reality romance sounds great. But this show landed flat.
Half of the show was our female lead contemplating her 'dating' habits, both inside and outside the game, which slowed pace down enourmously. During these moments of low energy, low activity, I lost focus and zoned out of the show. What's worse? I never saw the need to go back and catch what I might've missed.
If the show wanted to be more drama and romance, there wasn't depth to the story to amplify that.
If the show wanted to be more comedy and fun, well, that was lacking almost the entire time.

love love love
I really liked the story; I even felt sorry for some of the characters. I liked how the romance between the main characters developed; it didn't seem forced or anything like that. On a separate note regarding the most talked-about topic: Jisoo's acting. In my opinion, she has greatly improved comedy since Newtopia. I'm happy with the result of this project: it gave us drama, romance, and comedy all at the same time. I'm highlighting too much how they emphasized Seo Mirae's previous relationshipWas this review helpful to you?

Slmm kimse okumuyor ama yazmayi seviyorum. Ilk olarak bayadir kdrama izlemiyordum jisoo ve seoyu gorunce dedim allah izleyim bide hep aksiyon izldigim icin bazen insan romantige ihtiyac duyuyor. Evet simdi Boyfriend on Demand hakkinda konusacak olursam acikcasi bende cok buyuk bir etki birakmadi.
