we are living in a lonely world
There's no shame in having an outlet to your real life world's problems, a way to relieve your stress and problems. This show has the exact vibe, somewhat even taboo and shameful. But in the end whatever works for you works for you.It was a quite unique show and Jisoo is a great actress, hope to see her in the future again doing acting work. Also insane cast in general, the greatest actresses and actors in one show!! A great drama to unwind to on a rainy day.

Office enemies to lovers
It was light and though it had its cliche parts, I still liked it. This. is the second time I am seeing Ji Soo in a drama and I like her voice. I wont say much on the acting because I dont see any issues. Park Gyeong Nam plays that introverted character and I think they paired well.I liked the cameos of the virtual boyfriends she was dating. Those were fun to watch.
It was surprising to see that Park Gyeong Nam liked her first....
Overall, she realized not all men are the same and she gave another chance on love and she is quite happy. Matter of fact they are quite happy at the end.

Boyfriend on Demand hasn't met my expectations
I honestly expected something different from this series.First of all, I found the series a bit monotonous at first: a girl's (Mi-rae) offered a free virtual reality device where she can go on dates and through this process, she meets different boys until she finds her ideal boyfriend.
To be honest, those dates didn't do anything for me; it all felt quite flat. Perhaps there were some fun or enjoyable moments, but they didn't contribute anything to the plot between the two protagonists. To be honest, I watched the first 5 chapters at 1.75x speed and still perfectly understood the plot, so those chapters could have been skipped for me, as they don't contribute anything to the plot between the two protagonists; they simply focus on Mi-rae isolated in a virtual world.
The last thing I didn't like about the series is how long it takes for the plot to include even a minimal interaction or romantic interest between the two protagonists, because, despite being a fan of slow burn, I found this plot too tedious and it was boring to wait for.
I understand that some people may have enjoyed it, but despite giving it my time and a chance, this series isn't for me.
I hope no one's offended by my review.

A Fun K-Drama to Watch! Light and Fast
I’ve seen a lot of people criticizing this K-drama, especially the acting, mostly talking about Jisoo, but honestly, I don’t think the series lacked much. For me, it was a good show with an interesting plot. The only thing I didn’t like was that everything felt a bit rushed. I would have liked to see the female lead go on more virtual dates or see the existing ones develop further. In the end, I understand that the main message wasn’t really about the virtual game but about living real life instead of getting lost in an emotional fantasy. Still, I started the drama expecting more scenes inside the virtual world.
That said, I still enjoyed it. The female lead had more depth than I expected, and I think Jisoo did an okay job. Some people say she didn’t show enough emotion, but I actually think that was intentional. Her character wasn’t written to be overly expressive, and in the moments where emotions were needed, I think Jisoo delivered well.
I liked the male lead too, although I can’t point to anything very specific. His character felt a bit flat at times, still good, but maybe lacking depth. I think he just needed more scenes or development.
One thing I really didn’t like was the fact that the female lead’s “ideal man” in the virtual world had the same face as the male lead. I understand why the writers did that, but it still felt a bit odd to me.
Overall, it’s a cute and fast drama. I’d recommend it if you’re looking for something light and easy to watch.

JISOO Shines in the 2026 Global Hit "Boyfriend On Demand"
If you haven’t started "Boyfriend On Demand" yet, you are missing out on the biggest TV event of 2026. Dominating the #1 spot on Netflix globally for consecutive weeks, this series proves that JISOO is not just a global icon—she is a powerhouse actress.Playing the role of Mi-rae, JISOO delivers a performance that is both incredibly natural and emotionally resonant. She effortlessly balances the comedic "chaos" of virtual dating with deeply moving, vulnerable moments that showcase her immense growth. Her chemistry with the leading men is electric; whether it’s the nostalgic, heart-fluttering scenes with Seo Kang-joon or the sophisticated, high-tension romance with Seo In-guk, JISOO anchors every episode with her undeniable charm.
With its sleek production, witty script, and JISOO’s "Visual Queen" presence, "Boyfriend On Demand" sets a new gold standard for the romantic comedy genre. It’s more than just a rom-com; it’s a masterclass in modern storytelling. A must-watch masterpiece that justifies every bit of its global hype!

Such a pleasant surprise!
Truth be told, I only watched this for Seo Kang Jun, but was I in for a treat. Just when k-dramas have been pretty disappointing of late, this one was such a refreshing change! To my surprise, I enjoyed this so much. This is such a fun, lighthearted, and cute romance drama. I liked how simple the concept of the story is and how easy it was to follow along. The biggest thing that draws you in is the line-up of good looking men in this series! It was such a treat! I loved all the cameos and their storylines!
Jisoo is always a delight. She was perfectly cast for this role and for some reason, was very relatable in this drama. In Guk has always been a favorite as well. This drama won't win acting awards or anything of that sort but this made me smile and feel giddy a lot which is rare in recent k-drama offerings.
What is weird is that although this movie is pretty simplistic, there is an underlying societal theme and lesson that is the pulse of this show. Is AI or virtual reality replacing human relationships? Is it better? That seems to be a question this show is trying to ask and in a way, it was able to tap into some answers. I really enjoyed this one and would probably find my way into rewatching this in the future.

A Standard Romcom Experience!
This is a show that repeatedly had me second guessing all my theories regarding it.I loved the story and pacing the most. It stays lighthearted throughout even when talking about real world dating dynamics and past hurt. But this drama takes a unique concept like VR dating and makes it even more unique with it's quirky plot twists and enjoyable character dynamics.
For eg. Making a character like Gu Yeongil who resembles Park Kyeongnam was a genius plot point. Not only does it reveal Mirae's inner feelings for Kyeongnam without excessive telling and without her even realizing it because she made Yeongil, it also gives the story the necessary conflict to progress Kyeongnam and Mirae's relationship further in her real world. Likewise, having other supporting characters also use the game made it feel much more realistic and the world of BoD more lived in other than a simple plot device. Also loved how the VR game itself helps Mirae learn and grow and complete her character arc from being heartbroken and fearful to healed and brave.
I also loved Jisoo as Seo Mirae and Seo In Guk as Park Kyeongnam's chemistry. They naturally formed a team and their dating era was very easy to watch and follow. I loved the reciprocity in their relationship even though Mirae was infuriatingly prickly at points in the beginning as well as childish. Once they started dating, she became the sweetest to Kyeongnam and very involved which was refreshing to watch. I especially enjoyed all the gentle and tender physical touches in this show, from the loving way Mirae cradles Kyeongnam's face to their easy hugs and cuddles.
This drama shows real world love surprisingly realistically making the VR game a central part of the story but always in tandem with the development and progress of the lead's relationship. Also must mention the obvious thought and effort put info fhe VR game concept itself, from the packaging that looked creepily realistic, to the ads on deatures like texts and calls from the VR boyfriends, the safiricalway the show mocks capitalistic culture with endless subscriptions and how every VR BF is trained to keep customers hooked to the actual product which is at the end of the day, a plain business. It got me wondsring how a drastically different show coukdvebeen possible with this same concept, one that was much darker dwelling in on tbe parasitic nature of a game like this if it really existed in our lives, a reality we kight be heading to much sooner than later!
This drama on the other hand thankfully ends on a beautiful note encouraging bravery even when we know things can inevitably get scary such as finally allowing oneself to open to another relationship after the bittersweet end of an old one.
Seo In Guk is one of my all time favorites and he shines in this drama in every frame, both as Kyeongnam and Gu Yeongil. The vulnerability he brought to Kyeongnam and the heartbreaking way in which he delivered that love confession in ep 8 particularly standout and has gone staright to my top 10 favorite confession scenes of all time and my favorite scene in this entire show. Big props to the writer for the perfect dialogues too.
Jisoo is truly the star of the show both role wise and in execution. She brings life and color to Mirae and the drama as a whole and shines most in the lighthearted moments and with comedy. She struggles a bit evidently in emotional scenes, especially with crying, particularly obvious when opposite an actor like Seo In Guk in the confession scene in ep 8 and other sadder moments.
The supporting cast makes the world of BoD feel warmer and the cameos are perfectly placed. From Seo Kang Joon and his incredibly expressive eyes who plays Seonho who is a highlight to Lee Soo Hyuk, Lee Jae Wook. Ong Seong Wu, Kim Young Dae and all the others, the show creates a perfect balance between the VR subplot as well as Mirae's real world relationships.
My only complains were that I wish Kyeongnam's character had more depth written for him, a short backstory or something exploring his talent in drawing, and that I wish the drama relied more on showing rather than telling in revealing Kyeongnam's feelings from the first moment they began instead of a rushed montage limited to one episode. Both Mirae and Kyeongnam keep saying things without the drama showing them which was pretty frustrating. I think this has more to do with choosing to begin the story right in the middle of Mirae and Kyeongnam's established office dynamics which in my opinion, should've begun from the first moment they met as strangers to how they became rivals up to the present. This seems to be an unfortunate trend these days with dramas choosing to show thos natural progression of feelings and the "falling in love" part which should be the hgihlight of romance stories anyway, and instead rushing this most importsnt aspect into a preinstalled formula of characters already having feelings from the first episode.
But none of these flaws are gaping holes considering the tone of show remains consistently lighthearted. Other than the slightly rushed pacing between Mirae's initial reluctance to give love a chance again with Kyeongnam and her immediately throwing in all the enthusiasm into beginning a relationship with him one kiss later between ep 8 and 9, the show has a consistently solid pace and tone.
To end with: this is a thorough romcom meant to be enjoyed without too much analysis. I would recommend it for those who enjoyed shows like Business Proposal and Spring Fever.

The Drama Overall
Boyfriend on Demand is the story of how a soft beta guy with zero game fell in love with a low-self-esteem alpha girl and managed to win her over because she created an alpha version of him in a dating simulator — and that version ended up giving her advice until she fell for the actual soft, whiny protagonist.Dude, if I found out the person I fell for had created her ideal man in a dating sim and that man turned out to be literally me, I'd drop to my knees and thank God. The guy is such a pushover that he was out here pouting the whole time. That said: I loved the drama. Solid 10/10. Seo In-guk's acting is always incredible — the man is unmatched in versatility. He's played a con artist profiler, a rich guy with amnesia, even Death itself, and now this. Absolute legend. Was this review helpful to you?
Its Decent Watch.
As mentioned before in my each episode reviews, this drama had huge potential. But nonetheless, there are few places the drama shines and few where it falters.
But the question is, should I skip it or stream it? Well, I would suggest you to give it a try and watch it. You will appreciate the potential of the story. You will be impressed by Jisoo's chemistry with someone else more than the ML. Won't spoil you but give it a try.
Now after watching the finale, I felt that there were few unresolved things which were left out, hence I was feeling somewhat incomplete after watching it.
Still, if you have time, give this drama a shot.

Take me to your heart....
Heartbreak is the beginning of the healing process. Finding Love is a chance event that happens only a few times in one lifetime. Boyfriend on demand offers a temptation, selling an artificial dream, a maybe perhaps a ladder to discover oneself when you have lost meaning in attachment, forgotten what love and desire feels like in a healthy relationship. At a time when women have to constantly stay vigilant , consider personal and collective safety before needs, worry about privacy and trust, I understand why the prospect of dating in a virtual world can be so tempting - you don't have to worry about being judged, harassed or assaulted, the algorithm is there to serve you and your happiness. You are not hurting anyone, and no one is dehumanizing you! It is an escape from our high cortisol realities. And once you are in a safe space, you can finally think and feel more clearly, the clouds lift and you can finally accept the care and admiration that has been directed at you which you could never notice before because you have been in a self preserving daze!
Keeping this deeper story in mind, I am very generous with the rating despite the dystopian unethical addictive nature of the dating software trope, especially considering AI's inherently destructive tendency against humanity.
This drama dives into FL's state of mind and her journey towards accepting and loving herself more intentionally, after a breakup lay heavy on her insecurities causing her to bundle her emotions into a box. This makes her gullible and prone to falling for the virtual boyfriend offering. She fails to notice subtle signs from the ML (seo in guk) when we all know he has deeply fallen for her but keeps a respectful distance taking slow hesitant steps forward.
Every virtual boyfriend she meets helps her understand what she appreciates in a partner, her emotions open up and she can finally express what the ideal type is for her, it is a Seo in guk lookalike of course!
I think this is where the story gets tricky for the fl and the viewers. We now have two endearing avatars of the ML. One hot perfection, the other a comforting warmth. The office ML, Seo in Guk, really was so comforting to watch, his loving in silence and waiting for her to acknowledge him, his taking that chance eventually to let her know how he feels, all of it is so cathartic to watch. On the other hand fl's doubts about love keep holding her back so much so that she keeps escaping into the VR to talk to the virtual version of seo in guk.
Towards the end it was a matter of finding the courage and building that trust in reality to let go of the safety of an algorithm which promises only happiness and consistency when life is not like that at all. I liked that the drama manages to refocus on accepting Life as a forever changing journey and where true love can really exist despite strifes.
My favourite scene - They are standing on the snowy pavement, fl gently holds ml's face with her hand, tears start falling from his eyes.
I love seo in guk in this drama, he's a worthy romance lead I would like to see him again in a similar role. I kept thinking fl was Hye Ri initially and wondered why she was looking so different lol! Ji Soo brought a casual lightness to the drama. Overall, I felt the story itself was larger than the characters and was fed to us in a palatable mild dose instead of going full on black mirror. Love needs to win - Every. Single. Time.
Felt the Love 💟
Seo In Guk's deep eyes 🩷
Impressive guest cast 🌶️
