Take me to your heart....
Heartbreak is the beginning of the healing process. Finding Love is a chance event that happens only a few times in one lifetime. Boyfriend on demand offers a temptation, selling an artificial dream, a maybe perhaps a ladder to discover oneself when you have lost meaning in attachment, forgotten what love and desire feels like in a healthy relationship. At a time when women have to constantly stay vigilant , consider personal and collective safety before needs, worry about privacy and trust, I understand why the prospect of dating in a virtual world can be so tempting - you don't have to worry about being judged, harassed or assaulted, the algorithm is there to serve you and your happiness. You are not hurting anyone, and no one is dehumanizing you! It is an escape from our high cortisol realities. And once you are in a safe space, you can finally think and feel more clearly, the clouds lift and you can finally accept the care and admiration that has been directed at you which you could never notice before because you have been in a self preserving daze!
Keeping this deeper story in mind, I am very generous with the rating despite the dystopian unethical addictive nature of the dating software trope, especially considering AI's inherently destructive tendency against humanity.
This drama dives into FL's state of mind and her journey towards accepting and loving herself more intentionally, after a breakup lay heavy on her insecurities causing her to bundle her emotions into a box. This makes her gullible and prone to falling for the virtual boyfriend offering. She fails to notice subtle signs from the ML (seo in guk) when we all know he has deeply fallen for her but keeps a respectful distance taking slow hesitant steps forward.
Every virtual boyfriend she meets helps her understand what she appreciates in a partner, her emotions open up and she can finally express what the ideal type is for her, it is a Seo in guk lookalike of course!
I think this is where the story gets tricky for the fl and the viewers. We now have two endearing avatars of the ML. One hot perfection, the other a comforting warmth. The office ML, Seo in Guk, really was so comforting to watch, his loving in silence and waiting for her to acknowledge him, his taking that chance eventually to let her know how he feels, all of it is so cathartic to watch. On the other hand fl's doubts about love keep holding her back so much so that she keeps escaping into the VR to talk to the virtual version of seo in guk.
Towards the end it was a matter of finding the courage and building that trust in reality to let go of the safety of an algorithm which promises only happiness and consistency when life is not like that at all. I liked that the drama manages to refocus on accepting Life as a forever changing journey and where true love can really exist despite strifes.
My favourite scene - They are standing on the snowy pavement, fl gently holds ml's face with her hand, tears start falling from his eyes.
I love seo in guk in this drama, he's a worthy romance lead I would like to see him again in a similar role. I kept thinking fl was Hye Ri initially and wondered why she was looking so different lol! Ji Soo brought a casual lightness to the drama. Overall, I felt the story itself was larger than the characters and was fed to us in a palatable mild dose instead of going full on black mirror. Love needs to win - Every. Single. Time.
Felt the Love 💟
Seo In Guk's deep eyes 🩷
Impressive guest cast 🌶️

Boyfriend on Demand is such a fun and feel good romance !!
Boyfriend on Demand is such a fun and feel good romance that completely pulls you in from the start. The chemistry between the main characters is natural and exciting, making every interaction enjoyable to read. What really stands out is how the story balances lighthearted, playful moments with genuine emotional depth it’s not just a typical romance, it actually makes you care about the characters and their growth. The pacing is smooth, the dialogue feels real, and there are plenty of moments that will make you smile (and maybe even swoon a little). It’s the kind of book you can easily binge in one sitting because you just need to know what happens next. Overall, it’s a charming, uplifting read that’s perfect if you’re looking for something romantic, entertaining, and comforting. Definitely worth picking up if you love modern love stories. Was this review helpful to you?
Perfect binge watch for the weekend
As a woman the themes in this drama hit too close at home for comfort so yes, it deserves a 10/10. The FL is scared of feelings that change in a relationship, she resorts to AI fantasy only to realise that what she wants, exists in reality but it comes with all the traps of real life.Yet she's willing to live for the moment and not let an uncertain future intimidate her. A wonderful mature romcom approach to a universal relationship dilemma: safety or life? Was this review helpful to you?
Must Watch
Honestly, 'Boyfriend On Demand' (월간남친) is a 2026 masterpiece! Jisoo’s acting has evolved so much—her performance as Mirae is incredibly natural and moving. The dreamlike chemistry with Seo Kang-joon in Part 1 and the intense tension with Seo In-guk in Part 2 are pure gold! It’s no wonder it’s #1 on Netflix. A perfect blend of stunning visuals and heart. You HAVE to watch this! Was this review helpful to you?
A Fun Time, Didn't Quite Stick the Landing
I had fun watching it, and that's what matters a lot of time for me and shows. I loved the premise behind it, and I was so caught up in the drama of wondering how she would fall for her coworker when having such fun online dates with fictional men. It's that thing that readers dream of doing because real men kinda suck sometimes.I think it had great commentary on the idea of dating and expectations that people have for love. I ended up marking it down a bit right at the end. It was so close to being another one of my favorite shows, but I do think once you've seen it, there's not a point to rewatching it again. The ending also didn't land right for me. It felt too sudden and too clean without really addressing some of the issues that were posed in the story line. I'm not a big fan of that in rom-com spaces.
I did like how they established the FMC's drive to pick-up the service in the first place. It felt very realistic like people could just step into this world. It's totally not the point of the show, but I kinda want the Boyfriend on Demand system. Just to try it out for myself...
I definitely think it's worth a watch. I was cracking up laughing through many parts and messaging my friend about it. The key here is just not to take things too seriously, especially life.

LOVED IT!
It's fun, relatable, and many handsome guys. As Jjong said in the drama, "I wouldn't care if you had 10,000 flaws." 😍😍😍 If VR dating apps exist in real life, I'd definitely be subscribing 🤣It's fun, relatable, and many handsome guys. Natural ,fun , heartwarming! Perfect spring romcom
So i finished this drama few days back and let me tell you its been a while since i was in a slump and this drama turned out to be the perfect fluff romcom that I needed . The concept was quite fun , the performances even better. The whole virtual reality gaming stuff is so relatable since we all look forward to an escape from the world and those who have played such rpg / simulation/ otome visual novel/ choices games they'll thoroughly enjoy it ! The cameos indeed were the major attraction and being a kdrama fan , it was exciting to our beloved stars making an entry . The chemistry btw the leads felt natural and that enemies to lovers dynamic with a hintof twist ws endearing . I liked Jisoo's acting in this i don't know why some people were saying she overacted ,like i have been watching k dramas since a decade now and she was perfect as a romcom main lead .Seo in guk made me fall in love with his ever so amazing work . I love the camaraderie between the office staff. You are bound to laugh in almost every episode . One of the side characters i really enjoyed was lee ji yeon played by Ha Young , she was savage in last few episodes . Some people were complaining about the slow paced relationship within the leads , I myself didn't have any complaints since it was only obvious that they'll progress slowly and acc to me the misunderstanding part was essential and was resolved within a good time frame , i wont be going into too much detailing about that part since it'll be a spoiler .Since it was only 10 episodes, they managed to pull the story line properly without unnecessary drags or rushing things . All in all this has easily become on of my favourite light hearted dramas! Was this review helpful to you?
A Unique Take On A Drama
I wanted to wait before checking my drama list because I really wanted to go to this drama with a pure, no spoiler state of mind and I’m so happy I did.I was looking for a lighthearted drama, and this one surprised me very much because it was lighthearted, but it also had depth to it as well. Yes the pacing can be a little odd sometimes, but it all made sense in the end.
This drama is purely romance. There’s no other sub plot or genre in there. So that should be the expectation.

You must watch
"Boyfriend On Demand" is a visual feast with a rock-solid plot. The chemistry is top-tier: Seo Kang-jun opens the show with dazzling charm, while Seo In-guk provides a grounded, soulful depth that anchors the story. Most importantly, Jisoo’s acting has reached a turning point. Her vocalization is stable, and her natural, "lovely" energy makes the character Seo Mi-rae truly shine. A binge-worthy rom-com that feels like a warm "full charge" for the soul! Was this review helpful to you?

Loved it ! no necessary drama and plotline . It is silly. Little romance series
Had time of my life . It has been months since i binged watched something . Got me hooked from the start , i was laughing and giggling so hard . Jisoo had chemistry with every virtual boyfriend but for my roman empire is definitely seo mirae and kyung nam . Like that man was a fucking yearner , he yearned for her maybe not the most expressive but you could feel his desperation for her .. he was such a loser .And can we talk that kiss no wait actually those kisses but they kiss no ate .. devoured each other bourbhfuighbifduhbgdfkjhbrdkgkjhbdligfbiu….
People who think she had best chemistry with eun ho ( seo kang joon ) i beg to disagree ..maybe second best but yes i was definitely swooning over them and lee so hyuk (choi si woo ) ohhh….. my goddddddd he was seriously so hot like even those cheesy lines
And seo mirea being so relatable in that flight scene but not her getting excited that her next virtual boyfriend going to be a foreigner like girlll lollll
But my favourite was definitely the seo mirae in real world .. my girl was relatable af and a comedic genius but i would like to apologise to her because i was laughing so hard at her daily life misery
I literally danced along with her when she hit number one with her webtoon such a fun scene
And one my sad but favourite part her ex they did such a good job portraying their roles . How they fell in love to they ended up breaking up . Seriously chose the best actor for that role he did so well and those scene where mi rae was reminiscing her life her ex literally got me crying and my heart acing her her . On a side note jisoo is such a pretty crier . And for acting wise she nailed the . All her micro expressions were so good . You get 10/10 from me jisoo . I have loved her since snowdrop era. This is totally opposite of snowdrop but again such a good series. Finally a series which got me thinking on business proposal . Oh how i love seo mirae.
And for my kyung nam you have my heart you were such a gentle and understanding and a Loser in love . And all those scenes with gyoug pil were soo good too especially where they both dressed in white and he kisses her head . Idk how to put it but seo in guk played two character, one in virtual other in reality and somehow i ended up falling in love with kyung nam . I loved their plauful banter and always bickering and competitive . I would like to applaud director he did such a good job directing it , there were so many cameos but each had there own charms and chemistry . I miss it already i feel like a void but no worries i will be just rewatching the whole but first gonna watch ep 9 again. And can we cast seo kang joon and jisoo again in anotjer drama.

A Masterpiece of Modern Romance: Why "Boyfriend On Demand" is Essential Viewing
In the saturated landscape of romantic comedies, it is rare to find a series that balances high-concept fantasy with profound emotional realism. "Boyfriend On Demand" (월간남친), currently dominating the #1 spot on Netflix in 47 countries, achieves exactly that. While its premise—a subscription service for "customized" virtual boyfriends—initially promises lighthearted escapism, it quickly evolves into a poignant exploration of loneliness, desire, and the value of human connection in a digital age.The undeniable heartbeat of this series is JISOO. Portraying the cynical yet vulnerable Mi-rae, JISOO delivers a transformative performance that should silence any lingering skeptics of her acting prowess. She carries the show with a "naturalism" that is rare for the genre, navigating the absurd humor of her "dates" and the quiet heartbreak of her personal life with remarkable nuance. Her ability to anchor the narrative while rotating through an elite roster of leading men—from the nostalgic chemistry with Seo Kang-joon to the intense, sophisticated tension with Seo In-guk—is a testament to her versatility. She doesn't just act alongside these titans; she leads them, proving her status as a definitive "Rom-Com Queen" of 2026.
Visually, the production is a feast. The cinematography captures a dreamlike, high-fashion version of Seoul that mirrors the "Pepti" app’s perfection, yet the direction never loses sight of the "messy" reality Mi-rae inhabits. The script is sharp, avoiding typical tropes in favor of witty dialogue and a self-aware critique of modern dating culture.
Ultimately, "Boyfriend On Demand" succeeds because it asks a hauntingly relevant question: Is a programmed happiness better than a painful reality? Supported by JISOO’s career-defining performance and a star-studded cast of "special boyfriends" who each bring a unique flavor to the story, this drama is more than just a global hit—it is a cultural touchstone. Whether you are a fan of JISOO or a lover of high-quality storytelling, this is a masterpiece that justifies every bit of its global acclaim. 10/10.

Drama review
Story was good. Acting was good. Jisoo has definitely improved her acting. She is still weak in few expressions like when she feels extremely embarrassed or when shes crying, but overall she did a good job (but news articles will never mention her improvements 🙄). I also felt that the male lead should've had more background story. I liked the chemistry between all the characters. By the end of the last episode it made me sad because i felt the drama was kind of short and i wish there were few more episodes 🥲Was this review helpful to you?
