Hmmm......ok.
If your looking for sunshines and rainbows, look elsewhere. Turn back now. Final warning..........Dark and dreary and overly complex in its story telling from beginning to the end. But you should know that immediately considering who the FL is. It's not about forgiving. It's not about changing or redemption. I found this drama to be about acceptance? Nothing is forever, basically shite happens, that kind of stuff. Deal with it. But it wasn't really until the end and her last few lines that I came to my personal conclusions.
The 3 in this story were all about wallowing in misery, hiding, wanting to share things but unable to, they believed they'd drag others down. It hurt them all as they tried to move on with lives that had some devastating setbacks. Find that special someone only to let insecurities dmg or keep you from moving further. The trials they all went through in the end were completely unnecessary, it was just a Kdrama things to up the "omg why?!"reactions. Y'all know what I mean.
So I'm glad it wasn't a perfect ending, which is what I find I've liked about FL's dramas in general.
It's possible to be lonely even when your with someone and how you choose to deal with it is on you and you alone, solitude at times being just one out of many ways to address it. At least if you're the one feeling it.
This was messy and far from perfect but it wasn't horrible. I liked how well this was at displaying wide ranges of raw emotions. Mid tier drama but watch for yourself see what you think of it.

Hardly a 10 but ok
Told a passable story. Most of it. The problem was this is like the 3rd or 4th straight drama with a story setting during the IMF crisis of SK. Every year I swear, it's like these script writers get together and say let's all produce law dramas this yr. Or med dramas. It's like all we get for a few months and you just start to get fed up. So I will admit I MIGHT have a small bias towards pieces from this timeframe , kind of sick of them. You have to be on point with this as the background, historically correct you could say since this is kind of a niche backline to use, or had been until we just got this string of them. Even so, you've got to be almost perfect when viewers get to this point and this wasn't it~Decent all around cast and this ML here has done well in the past. He was all but useless here. Was playing as the cold boss with FL, working for him of course, with a relationship that went sour in the past. Uninspiring, dull, and boring. Story or the actor? Idk. But these leads did NOT mesh. The saving grace here was that even though they had a past, there was no attempt to rekindle anything and very little in the way of romance within the drama period. FL's role here was more or less, pretty fairly generic. Her acting was fine. A bossy, pushy, self righteous character with no respect anyone with the belief that her behavior is justified by her belief in righting injustice in the world. Her target happens to be a huge dirty corporation where she runs into her ex and cue the story~
The supports were better in dam near every category imo. There must have been at least 15 or so recognizable faces big and small. Had grand standing villains delivering cheesy lines of overconfidence and menacing threats with laughing cackles and dark eyes blazing. And the ending? Trash. I didn't like it at all since what was portrayed wouldn't have happened or worked well historically. That's MY opinion on it though and shouldn't stop you from checking it out~
This wasn't a bad drama. The strength of the supports was actually what kept me until the end since the leads didn't shine together. FLs archetype here is familiar for viewers of her works so it was fine alone but didn't stand out. It's a very long drama, a full 16 eps. It's starts off very slow, 8 was the make and break part on continuing or dropping for me so you do need to watch a few before deciding~

Hard pass~
Absolutely awful from start to finish. From the over the top evilness displayed by the villainous brother/sister duo to the awful dialogue and poor acting by all, this is something that should be forgotten asap and nothing anyone would be proud to have in their acting resumes. There is nothing good to say about anything this drama put forth and easily one of the worst dramas of the year. Was this review helpful to you?

Hit of a miss........
Yes, I said it was a hit of a miss, meaning it was like throwing a dart that misses the board and hits the wall instead~Acting was pretty good but I felt it was written in a way to where any and all other supporting actors were not given many chances to showcase anything that would let them shine or help further their own careers. 8 episodes just didn't allow for it. It was a full carry of the two stars, mainly the FL and they were up to the task~
You can tell there was a great deal of effort made with the creation of this script. But I found it overly complex, complicated, vague, and didn't make much sense at times. Revelations and reveals didn't have the oomph factor. Too many possibilities, too many questions left unanswered and too many gaps in the story. It was a mess but I wouldn't give it a hard pass~
The ending was as open as the drama being messy. But one part I really didn't like was the Court verdict at the end.
"Considering the meticulous planning of the murder prior to the incident and the intentional abandonment of the victim in what was clearly a life threatening situation, the defendant must be punished according to the severity of her crimes. Considering these factors, along with other relevant sentencing conditions, the defendant is sentenced to ten years in prison."
All that got was 10 years? REALLY?! Looking at what's currently going on around the world right now and the wording the judge used just prior to reading the verdict, 10 years for a murder was flat out BS and really just pissed me off lol. 🤬 Fictional story I know but dam!

Watch cleanly and w/o reservations and THEN comment~
Leads killed it in the 1st half but it was a bit slow in the middle and dragged at the end. Still funny!! Suzy's persona was Wednesday Addams plus SYJ's Ko MunYeong in It's Ok To Not Be Ok and I loved it and it's pathetic that this drama is going to remembered for one thing that wasn't there at all.IDK why Muslims are turning this into a religious thing but so be it. 90% of the world has a problem w/ the child raping incestual pedophiling women beating death to all infidels marry 6 yr olds jihad inbred screaming join us or face genocide views that Islam teaches. Netflix, SK, and Suzy will all take massive hits to reputation for no reason but it wasn't smart to do anything with any ties to Arabs in general with the atrocities currently being committed. We watch dramas to escape the real world, not be reminded of it and some scenes hit HARD.
But this is a FICTIONAL piece for entertainment purposes ONLY. FICTIONAL ppl. Muslims are turning this into a religious thing for no reason. The Islamists crying and review bombing a FICTIONAL drama is HIGHLY ironic considering what they're doing IRL. Parodies of ALL religions have been used in FICTIONAL dramas and movies for ages and they wouldn't have said anything if it was something other than theirs. But that's Islam. Hypocrisy and intolerance at its finest.
I was highly entertained and had no thoughts over religion until I saw the reviews destroying this over it. I also know not all are as bad as the criminal ones engaging in the acts of violence I listed that the media talks about daily as they're caught engaging in their 'religious' practice. So watch the drama for the drama, not the religious slander many are making this out to be. Slander is what I said up top. But is it slander if it's all true?

Middling. Nothing more, nothing less.
This will not win awards. It will not leave a lasting impression. People will not rave about it. It doesn't have any hidden political agendas nor does it require much thought, if any, in regards to the simple story being told. Its just a basic rom com full of the usual misunderstandings blown out of proportions, imaginary saves from harm, and overdramatic confessions. It more it less follows the genre true to form and has the expected ending as its finishing touch. It simply fills the space and offers a few hours of escape~

What does did I just watch?
Literally asked myself this question out loud which was almost echoed by what did 'we' just watch from my wife.........eps 9 and 10 were definitely 2 hrs 15 min of our lives wasted~Umm..........I've almost speechless. This was sad. Pure depression. A give and take relationship NEVER survives when it's one sided and that's how the relationship in this drama was portrayed from start to finish. ML have and gave and gave into the black hole that was the FL until an ultimate decision was made. And STILL.......the pattern never changed~
I wasn't sure what to expect but it sure as hell wasn't this. The FL and SFL did not cut it, or maybe it was the characters. I had the sense of two high school girls that just didn't mature at all. Speech, mannerisms, actions and decisions radiated indecision and uncertainty. There were very few scenes of positivity, the rest made you wanna go drown yourself. The ending was suspect and needs to be deciphered. I find so many similarities to the drama Love Me which ended a few months ago except the ending was much lighter. I'm not saying to ignore the drama but I'm pretty sure you're going to come away scratching your head like we were~

Barely mid~
You've seen it before. 3 women who are best friends helping each other navigate through their mid life crisis. Each with a hint of social injustice.Like I said, you've seen it before and they were all most likely better than this as there is nothing extraordinary or even uncommon with the events portrayed in this piece. In fact, I think all 3 costars were abit extreme, over acting scenes which made it difficult to pay attention at times. This isn't a bad drama, it's just that nothing stands out and that prevents it from calling it anywhere close to a good drama. And that's why I call it just a mid. It's definitely not worthy of a rewatch~

Keep it neutral. Edit 12-22 It's NOT neutral 1-11-'26 Or was it?
Why do they feel the need to to include ongoing political and social propaganda when the world is completely divided and fighting over said issues? Abortion, religion (specifically Islam), and the ever ongoing rainbow community is in the mix. Netflix was/is already under fire for the genie piece dropped earlier this year and here we go again. There are no middle grounds with "WOKE" issues like this for most ppl, not anymore. We watch dramas to escape the ugliness and intolerance in the world. Not to see see it front and center in the middle of our streams. Films, dramas, short stories, it doesn't matter. Doing this pretty much negates the ability to receive fair and unbiased reviews because rads on either side will flock to praise or destroy with their opinions. (Oh, why do reviews say they've completed the drama when there's still 2 weeks+ left?)
I stopped watching dam near anything from the US years ago because of this and SK works have given me that out for a solid 15+ years. To see it creeping into their stories on a regular basis lately is just flat out depressing.
For the record, I don't care about this stuff personally which is why I'll leave straight 5s across the board for neutrality. FOR NOW. But take into consideration what I've said when it comes to the extremity of some of the other reviews and try to view without bias~
EDIT 12/22/26
I watched EP 6. Whew. It deserves to be bashed now. I mentioned bias before. This is NOT my bias. It's the writers demonstrating theirs. The writer has gone full on crazy. They put in abortion views, they put in their views about the alphabet community, fine...........but adding one of the worst and top problems the entire world is fighting with each other about was and is just plain out stupid. Immigration and asylum laws. And yes, I said stupid because that's going to bring religion in to the mix and there is no middle ground with that. And oh ya, rape is also being mixed up into the mess. SK has to be one of the worst countries in the world for allowing alcohol to be a mitigating circumstance for the crimes of rape, murder, everything actually. The entire drama had been extremely controversial but it is a law drama. With the views being expressed here, I'd wager the writer is swinging for the left.
It can be difficult but it's not impossible to stand in the middle when creating these stories, it can be done in ways to avoid upsetting any sides. That's not going on here. It's straight up political and it makes me sad that SK writers have been choosing sides as of late. Ppl can disagree with me and that's perfectly fine but I believe topics such as the ones being discussed have to be broached carefully at all times. My curiosity now wanders to what they will bring up over the last half of the drama. I will not drop.
1/11/'26
NGL, eps 1-6 DID trigger in the end, the topics mentioned are strong, everyday, ugly things that are brought up daily in the US, the division of our ppl has never been stronger than it's current state. The cases in the first half were all of those things, seeing it was a reminder of it all because I go to Kdrama to escape it. The last half felt like an entirely different drama and it gave me the refuge I had been seeking for. I enjoyed the second half with no complaints.

Gaudy..........
Was the 1st thought that came to mind after watching the #1. Taking in EP 2, the production and aura vibes had me liken this to the feel of Strong Girl Nam Soon. That's not good considering that Nam Soon was and is one of the worst dramas of all time.3, 4, and 5 softened my stance. Looking at the limitations and the real world effects of what was needed to renew and sustain powers, the feel switched to that of Atypical Family. That was an enjoyable drama for me. The real world implications were completely understandable in that drama and the same principles were used here to a point. From there to the end, it was an easy watch.
There were so many morales about $$$ stuffed into every single episode, that was abit annoying. The blood bath in the final ep was a big surprise that caught me off guard. The story was definitely creative but whimsical as well. One troupe I'm absolutely sick of seeing 24/7 is the rich kids of rich ppl having the worst stupid idiotic pointless psychological problems due to w/e. Dramas automatically get a downgrade from me for lack of originality in that department.
This wasn't made to win awards or push moral compass and all of that.........or maybe all the money quotes were supposed to do that........but the piece was entertaining enough to float by and catch my attention. I think it's a solid mid, nothing more and nothing less~

Solid Watch
Lol...........what can I say? I don't think there's too much to complain about with this piece. It was highly entertaining with many good scenes of laughs that didn't all feel forced or expected. I loved the constant bickering. The leads meshed well together but also carried their own scenes very well. The supports did their jobs.If anything, the serious bits in the drama actually deter how well the dramas comedy could've been on its own but I don't feel it diminishes the piece all that much. It just made me impatient to see the leads on screen together because whether it was suppose to be awkward or a fight, it just worked. Everyone should give this a view~

JUDGE FAIRLY!!!
I just wanted to say that this actress has a LOT of fans which is great. But she's got a bunch of those diehard "speak no evil" fanatics who are the types to hunt ppl down and chastise across the web. Y'all know what I'm saying lol. All I want to see and hear as we dive into this are fair, non bias breakdowns and remarks that aren't do to what she's done in the past. At least that's what I'm asking for! Let's see what the leads and the story give us!! :)And no, these are not my ratings yet, I just plugged the #'s randomly.
Final Edit
Kind of at a loss for words. This actress has a unique style you will either love or hate. Comments are either favorable or deplorable. Her 'charm' or talent or w/e you want to call it is the ability to spit a 100 words per min like a machine gun. It's her norm. Efforts to slow it down kind of make it look like she's grasping for the correct words to speak, unsure of what to say w/o deliberateness being apparent. Her style has never changed while moving forward on different dramas. I think this is good for comedic roles but poor for roles requiring romance and sincerity. She had a historical role a few years ago I thought was perfect and I liked her in it~
But THIS pair did not work. There was not one shred of chem from start to finish. Watching the leads bicker was very amusing at first. But it quickly became tiresome when it became apparent that there was no spark whatsoever. Every episode seems to degenerate into huh? What? And? And the HEEEEEY!!?!! being said by FL 10x over the course of the episode as Lomons character walked and talked circles around her constantly putting her in her place. The story wasn't compelling. I never had that 'omg I can't wait until the next episode' feeling that you get when you're wanting more~
This wasn't a bad drama and idk exactly why it didn't work. I just know that it didn't. It won't be remembered for anything other than failing to stand up to its predecessors. I wonder if it's because the 9 tails in the two most talked about dramas were males? This doesn't have to be rushed to be taken in. Do it at leisure. It will burn a few hrs at least. But don't expect anything that's on par with the normal solid traditionally sound stories Kdramas are known for~

Mediocre at best~
Everything was meh. I found myself lacking any emotional investment with all characters. The fact that it was a story about the IMF was what held my attention because it gave viewers a glimpse into the hardships (individuals, families, and businesses alike) the country suffered during this time. But nothing else stood out for me

Just wasn't feeling it.
It really couldn't keep my attention. I never had that "I can't wait till the next episode" feeling. I had actually forgotten about it after 3 episodes and but remembered it when I saw my que.Cast is fine but the characters themselves were boring and one dimensional and unable to draw investment from me. Not a fan of this older kind of production so it's visuals looked pretty bad but that's just me. It's presented in the "I want to be the next Godfather" masterpiece but falls short on every aspect. I have no interest in seeing part 2 and will give it a hard pass.

Trash
There's nothing to talk about here. There's nothing good to say. Does injustice to the original series. The worst drama of the year. Anybody who has this in their resume should be ashamed to have been a part of such a horrible show. The writer and the ppl that signed off on this garbage should never work in the industry again. That's how bad this drama is.Was this review helpful to you?
