"So this is love. So this is love."
Let me start by getting the bad stuff out of the way.As usual with these Thai GL dramas, the abusive/homophobic family members didn't get their comeuppance. Prem's parents were literally the devil incarnate, and I got the sense that they actually ENJOYED tormenting their own daughter. Even in the finale, every apology they made sounded fake and insincere, and their mere presence still made me feel cold. I really wish that Prem would have just disowned them, rather than immediately forgive them when she saw that Pat was still alive. Pat and her progressive parents are a much better family for Prem.
The rest of the show was amazing. I cried A LOT (especially during episode 9), and the show was filled with memorable scenes that I still rewatch, even now that I've finished the series. Just like many of my favourite GL dramas (most notably Pluto), the 2 lead actresses had amazing chemistry. Jayna and Ginny really poured their hearts and souls into their characters, and every one of their scenes just felt so natural, like I was watching a real-life couple fall in love. The supporting cast was also great, with Sita, Nam (the show's best villain), and Pat's father being my personal favourites.
The soundtrack was also solid. "So This Is Love" is one of my favourite songs of 2025.

I really love this series. It’s the first series for the main characters, yet their acting skills are outstanding. The story of Pat and Prem goes from hatred to love, showing how Prem tries hard to deny her feelings. The conflicts are quite intense, and thankfully, in the end, they remain together. One of the best GLs
The chemistery between the leads is very good. Both actresses are stunning and their acting is very natural and no awkwardness at all despite it is thier first project. The story has a bit loop holes but it is not boring like some of the other series. But it is still refreshing to see very straightforward character. Looking forward seeing many more projects from this GinJ 🙌❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️Was this review helpful to you?
A Love Story Worth Watching
I don't know what I was expecting when the series started, but what wonderful way to finish the year. Poisonous Love has great chemistry, storytelling and pacing. It is both heavy on the drama and the romance. The "Poisonous Love" tile gives nothing away about the series. You think you know, but you don't. I cannot rave about the writing enough!I've read that the first episode was off-putting to some, but please give it a chance. It is a love story worth watching. Pat and Prem fought hard for their relationship in a fresh story that often had my jaw on the floor. North Star Entertainment has set the bar extremely high for their next project. I'm excited to see what they will produce next.
The only negative I want to highlight, is that I wished we had a bit more exploration into Prem’s relationship with her parents after everything that happened with them. I think that was wrapped up too quickly, hence my deduction of half a star. Poisonous Love would have definitely benefited from having eleven episodes in the regular season, though I do understand that ten episodes was already a lot for a GL.
I'm impatiently waiting for the special episode. 😭

That was better than what I was expecting
From the very first episode, Poisonous Love distinguished itself with a unique narrative twist that immediately drew me in. This isn’t your typical romance—it’s a carefully crafted story that knows exactly what it wants to be.Ginny and Jay deliver performances that go beyond acting; they embody their characters with such authenticity that every emotion feels lived-in and real. Their on-screen chemistry is nothing short of electric—they don’t just share scenes, they create a genuine partnership that makes you believe in what you’re watching. You can feel the dedication and effort they poured into bringing these complex characters to life.
I have to commend the directors for their tasteful approach to the intimate scenes. They struck that rare, perfect balance—creating moments that make your heart skip a beat while maintaining a sense of respect and artistry. The pacing was impeccable; nothing felt gratuitous or uncomfortable. Instead, these scenes served the story and the emotional journey of the characters, which shows real skill and care for both the narrative and the actresses.
The writing deserves special recognition. The dialogue feels fresh and purposeful—conversations that actually matter, with characters saying things worth listening to. It’s such a relief to watch a series where the script doesn’t rely on repetitive exchanges or tired tropes.
Now, Nam’s character—I’ll be honest, I couldn’t stand her from the beginning. But that’s the point, isn’t it? The actress played that manipulative, narcissistic role with such chilling conviction that I was genuinely unsettled. That takes real talent.
What struck me most was Ginny’s portrayal of Prem’s internal struggle. The suffocating pressure of parental expectations, the painful indecisiveness, the heartbreaking betrayal of herself just to keep the peace—she captured all of it with nuanced, gut-wrenching authenticity. It’s frustrating to watch a character trapped by family dynamics like these, but that’s because families like this exist. Children with no voice, no agency, slowly drowning while maintaining a perfect smile. Ginny gave voice to that silent suffering in a way that felt deeply real.
To the entire cast and crew: thank you for creating something special. Your hard work, dedication, and artistry shine through every frame. Poisonous Love is proof that Thai GL drama can be bold, beautiful, and deeply moving when handled with this level of care and talent.
You should be incredibly proud of what you’ve created.

Underrated Gem
This is a must watch GL series. The production, scenery, story, emotion, cast and all of the elements are present on this series. Future stars are rising. Ginny and Jayna delivered a spectacular performance on this drama you cant even tell that they are newbies on the industry. Hope they can make a lot of series cause their chemistry is sky high. Was this review helpful to you?

Well-Performed but Not Convincing
Poisonous Love delivers strong performances, and the acting is easily one of its highlights. That said, my personal taste leans toward heavier emotional suffering or a more twisted plot, and this series didn’t quite reach that level for me. Some moments came off as cringe, particularly a few intimate scenes that felt more awkward than impactful.I also felt that the leads lacked chemistry, though that’s purely my opinion. On the positive side, I appreciated that the characters actually communicated with each other, which helped avoid unnecessary misunderstandings—a refreshing change from similar series. I even watched the special episodes hoping they would ease my doubts about the relationship, but unfortunately, I still wasn’t fully convinced.

THE BEST GIRL LOVE STORY I HAVE SEEN
i don't know what everyone thinks. but i love this story. Ptik and Northstar pick the right casting for the charaters to portray Dr. Prem and Pat and they did the web novel justice. Ginny and Jayna who did not have any actiing experience and was able to make eveyone cry and the Actors who play the protagonist was awesome especially the Fiance and Pat Best friend Nam i truly wanted to hit them for what they did to Dr Prem and Pat. They sure made the audience hated them so much. As for Dr. Prem Parents no words if i had those parents i disown them but this is a asian famiily thing so its understandable withthe upbringing. i just wish they could of done collaboration with The Secret Of Us and continue the stories with spin off of their daugthers and have the parents as the support roles. audience would love to see girl love stories expand further than just marriage. have family and that they also can live and love like normal couple. Was this review helpful to you?
