love this drama
I started Law and the City expecting a standard courtroom drama, but what I got was something far more thoughtful, layered, and emotionally rewarding. This isn’t just a story about lawyers winning or losing cases — it’s about people trying (and often failing) to navigate the murky space between professionalism and personal ethics, all while bonding over daily lunch breaks. And honestly? I love it.The premise is surprisingly simple: a group of attorneys work in the same building but for different law firms. They meet for lunch, bicker like siblings, support each other through rough days, and slowly reveal bits of themselves case by case. It’s such a grounded, charming setup — almost slice-of-life, but with legal drama baked into the rhythm of their everyday routines.

Epsode 6°
Hi! Could someone please tell me the name of the actor who plays the drunk guy in episode 6 of Law and the City — the one who keeps failing interviews, accidentally takes the watch, and forgets where he put it? Thank you!Olá! Alguém poderia me dizer o nome do ator que interpreta o rapaz bêbado no episódio 6 de A Cidade e a Lei — aquele que não consegue passar nas entrevistas, pega o relógio sem querer e esquece onde colocou? Obrigada!

Not like any other law dramas - even better
This drama is so good so far. It shows the life of lawyers who are like any other workers, it shows their friendship which is very fun to watch and also struggles as lawyers. The slow burn romance on the side is also very good. This is for anyone who likes dramas like Hospital Playlist. Perfect slice of life, legal, youth and romance drama. Was this review helpful to you?
Law and The City - Lunches, Laws, and Lives
🔹 Would I rewatch? Yes, but only when I want a slower vibe✨ What if a legal drama focused not on significant cases, but on the people sharing lunch together?
📖 Overview 🎬
🔹 16 episodes, legal + slice-of-life
🔹 Lee Jong Suk plays An Ju Hyeong, a senior associate who's really smart but tends to keep his distance when it comes to emotions.
🔹 Moon Ga Young plays Kang Hui Ji, a lively junior who believes that small changes matter.
🔹 The story begins as five associates at Johwa Law manage their everyday cases, share meals, and navigate shifting friendships.
🔹 Perfect for those who love the charm of workplace slice-of-life stories and the captivating dynamics of ensemble casts!
✨ How It Felt Watching 💙
🔹 The early episodes set the vibe with long lunch chats, light conversations, and some fun work-related banter.
🔹 It was such a chill vibe, really thoughtful and funny, almost like catching up with coworkers you've known forever.
🔹 Friendship, having a sense of purpose, and finding a bit of warmth in a tough job came up in every case.
🎭 Cast & Performances
🔹 Lee Jong Suk really nailed the cool vibe of Ju Hyeong but also showed a more vulnerable side.
🔹Moon Ga Young brought joy and sparkle to Hui Ji, perfectly balancing optimism with sincerity.
🔹 The supporting cast added both humor and depth to the story.
🎵 OST 🎧
🔹 "Dear My Past Self" by Ha Sung Woon
🔹 "Can I love u?" by DOKO
🔹 "In The End" by Jung In
🔹 "I Want To Know" by Youra

🎨 Visuals & Production
🔹 The city scenes appeared polished and cinematic, giving Seoul a film-like glow.
🔹 The office spaces felt really cozy and inviting, and the food scenes were captured in a way that just made your mouth water!
🏆 Final Thoughts
🔹 I appreciated how the show gave everyday moments, like shared meals and conversations with colleagues, equal importance to the cases.
🔹 Would I rewatch? Yes, though more for the comfort of its atmosphere than for drama or twists

So far, so good.
What I'm enjoying so far is what I *don't* see: no over-acting, no tropey side stories, no tired plot devices we've all seen a dozen times. It's understated and well-paced. The side characters are interesting, each with their own dilemmas. I genuinely don't know how these storylines are going to play out from one episode to the next. That's very refreshing after watching the same stories, side characters and plot lines in drama after drama (although that chocolate caffeine candy does make an appearance lol). I don't know how the rest of the drama is going to go but so far I'm a fan.Was this review helpful to you?

LJS IS BACK!!, MGY is so stunning!!
Only two episodes in, Law and the City (2025) already feels like the cozy, caffeine-fueled legal drama we didn’t know we needed. Think Hospital Playlist but with court filings, burnt-out associates, and one charming idealist rookie (Moon Ga-young) trying to melt the icy exterior of her stone-cold senior (Lee Jong-suk). It's witty, warm, and weirdly comforting—like grabbing lunch with officemates you secretly love. Verdict? So far, it’s guilty of being totally binge-worthy. ⚖️☕️💼Was this review helpful to you?
A relaxing slice-of-life
I went into this title not knowing anything about it, but I'm glad I stumbled upon it. The cast is amazing, guaranteeing the acting quality of the show. I see why some people would not like it - there is no drama; honestly, not much happens throughout the 12 episode runtime. It's just a sweet, relaxing slice-of-life, following the daily life and struggles of a group of friends who just happen to be lawyers. It is reminiscent of Hospital Playlist, although it definitely lacks some of the charm and heart the medical field-based series had. I, for one, am glad to have gotten a law field-based version of it, though. I really enjoyed it, and the easy watch gave me comfort on evenings I was tired from work. Was this review helpful to you?
Long awaited LJS comeback with a bang!
Long awaited LJS comeback with a bang! Interesting slice of life, the lunch scenes among the alleys are so relatable, keep it under KRW8000, wow!Btw, from Seocho-Dong to Law in the City, interesting choice of international title.
Good storyline as well, hope it's consistent til the end. Not sure why MDL rate is this low, it should be 8.2 at least :(

Law, Lunch, and a Little Bit of Friendship Magic!!
Law and the City is a pretty simple drama, and as a slice-of-life lover, I genuinely enjoyed the story. The only part I wasn’t a fan of was the romance between the leads—it wasn’t slow burn, and there was a clear lack of chemistry. In the first 4–6 episodes, there was something charming going on, but it didn’t last. The drama follows the lives of five different lawyers, each with their own story to tell, all working under different partners in the same law firm. The highlight for me was definitely the friendship dynamics and the cozy, beautiful visuals. There’s nothing groundbreaking here, but it’s a feel-good watch.
That said, the plot and romance could have been developed better, it’s definitely not for those seeking a unique storyline or intense romance. I did love that everyone got a happy ending and went on their own paths. I’m actually hoping for a short Season 2 (maybe 4–6 episodes) just to see how their friendships and lives are going. I think I connected with it more because I was watching it over a month, so it grew on me.
You can binge-watch this when you’re bored, but be ready to skip a few unnecessary scenes. On the brighter side, there are two other couples worth watching- the married couple (the husband is total standard material!) and Sangi’s love story, which was short and sweet!!!!

And now, speaking for the defense...
Episodes 1-8 I was very happy. I knew it was an ensemble piece with a "non-dopamine" hit tenor. I loved the actors and the cases, which were about the everyday tragedies and injustices of society. The Hong Kong scenes were romantic and lush. Lee Jong-suk who had been away for 3 years was back, handsome and elegant in his suits and glasses. If you are familiar with his work, he is usually if anything maybe over emotive so here he takes the classic k-drama man, repressed and emotionally stunted, (although not rich haha). Seeing him subtly open up due to the presence and inspiration of his first love was moving. If you missed this, you weren't paying attention.Alas, all I can do after episode 8 is blame the writer, a rookie, a lawyer and a man for dropping the romance arc in what can only be called a bait and switch. The drama still had lots of pleasures but for a drama that is trying to be realistic, the decision that once the leads are "official" no more love scenes happen shows poor skills on his part or on the director's. I've rewatched "I hear your Voice" and "While you are Sleeping" and I tend to fast forward through the cases and rewatch the personal relationships, both romantic and nonromantic. I enjoyed the cases here, but the friendships and personal growth are what carry the drama. Lost potential. I'm very happy LJS is back. Any flaws with Moon's portrayal I would also put down to the writer turning her into a Disney princess instead of a real women who actually might be in a bad mood once in a while!
Points for bringing up moral issues, feminist issues, LGBT issues, end of life issues and more and points for trying something different.

heartwarming and beautiful
The much loved series has reached its pinnacle. As the show turned into more serious Kdrama, the plot shifted gear from romance to hard life. As the show ended, major twists unfold thus making the show perfect in every format.Ahn started taking stand
The senior lawyer who has been sidelining his emotions all the time finally started opening his heart. He started opening his heart up and owning his emotions thus giving a fine arc in the character line.
Hui Ji understanding her responsibility
The young lawyer who has been looking after people more than trying to resolve the case she has been given, started taking a closer look at her job. She got a clear understanding about what her job wants from her.
Finding own definition
As the story progressed, colleagues who had been going in different directions, finally found their lane. Each of them found out what they have been seeking and started working on their destination.
A heartwarming and gentle conclusion that made the audience reach a fulfilling point.
