Family Drama with a blend of Sorrow and Laugh
The drama takes a good turn from episode one itself, but then the story starts to get more traumatic as the drama starts to focus on the drama side. The death of Oh Jang Soo is a part of the drama that adds so much to the storyline, but without the character, there is a hollow in the story.Well, it was already clear that Oh Jang Soo would be a short character, but the portrayal has been done in a way that made the character unforgettable. Moreover, Ma Gwang Soo is also a very strong character, and it is what made the drama more interesting and has the hook points.
Uhm Ji Won has portrayed the character of Ma Gwang Soo in a way that I can never imagine someone else playing the same character. She has done the role perfectly and has the features of a strong woman who has a bright character and a lively personality. The story shows how she lost her husband but didn’t give up on solving those problems left behind.
It is a great watch even though there’s so much to show as the drama is still ongoing, but it is honestly going so smoothly. For Eagle Brothers Kdrama is confirmed to have 50 episodes, so we can’t expect the same vibe and energy shown in 16-episode dramas. It is slow going but not boring. There’s a high chance of keeping on getting better in the upcoming episodes.

A Hidden Gem Among Long K-dramas
I've been watching mostly long K-dramas, ranging from 50 to over 120 episodes. Some of them started off really strong, but I have to admit that the plot often gets stretched out, which makes it hard to keep going. However, after watching the first few episodes, I felt a rare sense of wholesomeness, something I don’t often experience, especially in longer series. Many long K-dramas tend to go off track, sinking too deeply into heavy drama. While I don’t necessarily dislike that, if it goes too far, it can take away the fun and entertainment that make watching enjoyable. Although I've only watched up to episode 22, it has consistently delivered the same charm and warmth introduced at the start. Beyond the story itself, the characters bring life and energy to every episode, making you want to keep watching, which is a great sign, especially for a drama with a longer run.Was this review helpful to you?

Warm, positive, functional, educational
A very very nice kdrama. The story is real, the people are real, acting is good, so you get sucked into the story. This is a long drama with many many characters and stories so that is why it is slower and more complex than 16 episodes series.===> You really get to see the characters struggle and grow
Bc it is a family drama with so many different people, ages, stories, and interactions, it is incredibly interesting. There are 5 love stories going on in parallel, plus exes, babies, etc.
You get to see disfunctional relationships versus functional relationships :) Bad communication, no communication, and good communication... different styles...
I like the positive vibe of this kdrama
It helps that the main ML and FL are down-to-earth people with common sense and brave enough to speak their mind, take action when necessary, be gentle and respectful about it and communicate well.
It is helpful that FL is not an abused / helpless clutz / loser but a capable and warm, brave woman trying to make her late husband's dreams come true and at the same time save herself from the grief of his death and successfully run her late husband's business. She has goals and she makes it happen. Running that business was healing for her.
This is NOT an "anio!!!!" drama with idiotic (mis)communication, hiding, cheating, and psychotic losers. There are villains and drama queens and questionable women, but this is not a drama with car chases, kidnapping, shootings, hot steam, etc.
This kdrama is about "normal" people with 'normal" range of issues, like .. getting out from under your parent's tight hand, dating your professor, leaving babies behind, trying to destroy competition with bad business moves, selling kids off to marriage, fighting to save a business in debt, falling in love later in life, surviving in the entertainment industry, etc.
How it is solved and resolved is interesting to watch. How different people come together to make a goal happen. How they saved their tiny brewery together.
Some of the best love scenes are between the two people who lost their spouses (ML and FL), you get to see high school love at the age of 50, and it is so cute. If you can watch ep 23 with ML and FL in the hospital, that is one of the most charming things, how an older reserved male opens his heart and turns into a high school boy but even better :) he is calmer and warmer than a young boy, and a lot more considerate and appreciative.
He is THE BEST good boy charmer out there, really. He courts her so well. He is honest, undercover, steady and very clever to always be there and be nice and ENJOY her company but never come onto her, bc she is not ready yet, she recently lost her husband, so he is catching her into his net without she even realizing. He is very very genuine and vulnerable and naive on one hand but on the other hand, a very shrewd adult male who knows where he is going with this. He is careful to protect himself yet advancing very fast to go get her. A great hunter and scout :) He is a very endearing character and that actor portrays him so well.
I and many others wish that it was subbed faster. We have to wait a whole day for eng sub.
The OST music is not really something I would remember :) After I wrote this I was humming the main song "when will I learn life" or whatever that is, and yeah, that is a catchy song and actually can be a very popular song. OK I give 9 on music. THe rest of the music is not really noticeable too much, It gives nice effects with actions and it is rather discrete, whcih I think is APPROPRIATE for this kdrama. So .. absence of flashy music is ok. I do think a little bit more ... well... I dontknow which word to use... zappy? emotional? stronger? passionate? alive? vibrant? music would be good.
Iron Family had such catchy main song but Iron Family kdrama had more comical and drama and thriller elements so that music fit perfectly for it. This drama is more even keel so this mellow music is ok, it FITS.
This kdrama has nice "background" music that matches the acting, but it is nothing special. But yeah that is the feel of this drama, regular life without too much spiking.
There are younger and older people in the drama. There is only one elder and she is a dame LOL There is one baby. There are business people, "idols" :) etc There are cold hearted corporate styles and the immature dancer and everything in between. So I think many people will find someone of their age and their interest in this kdrama and will find it interesting.
I like the filming close up of their faces. There are many comical moments. There are some tough moments, but never disgusting tough, only tough... THere are some sad moments but there is also that feel of overcoming and moving on and being nice about it.
It is like ... put your slippers on, relax, and watch the story

PARASITE BROTHERS,,Arroagant FL
1-4 episodes :-50+ people are acting like toddlers
The first four episodes of Eagle Brothers introduce a male lead who, at first, seems like your typical arrogant, self-absorbed character. But what sets this drama apart is how fast he realizes his mistakes and actually apologizes. Instead of dragging out his ego for half the series, the writers waste no time in showing growth and self-awareness, which makes his character far more engaging than expected.
At first, he talks too much nonsense, acting like he’s above everyone else—but rather than making him insufferable, the drama uses this to highlight his eventual change. He’s not just arrogant for the sake of it; he’s someone who genuinely reflects on his behavior and takes responsibility when confronted with reality. His apology doesn’t feel forced—it feels real, setting the stage for what could be a truly satisfying redemption arc.
Beyond the male lead, the drama does a great job of building tension and relationships between characters. The pacing is tight, and the writing avoids the common trap of making conflict feel repetitive. If Eagle Brothers keeps up this momentum, the next 46 episodes could shape into a powerful story about growth, redemption, and self-improvement.
For now, it’s off to a surprisingly good start. Let’s hope the male lead keeps proving himself rather than backsliding into old habits!
5-8 episodes :-
As Eagle Brothers progresses into episodes 5 to 8, the drama thickens with intertwining love lines and brewing cheating plots among the brothers-in-law, creating both intrigue and frustration.
Starting with the oldest brother-in-law, despite being married with his wife and child living in the USA, he is gradually rekindling a romance with his old flame. By episode 8, she finalizes her divorce, hinting at the formation of the first cheating couple. This storyline, while predictable, sets up a complicated emotional mess that seems to be a focal point moving forward.
The second brother-in-law’s arc is more complex. As a single father and professor, he appears to be heading towards an unethical relationship by pursuing the ML’s son’s girlfriend, who is also his student. This plotline introduces uncomfortable power dynamics and moral ambiguity. However, despite how questionable the situation might seem, his character is portrayed as genuinely kind-hearted and sincere. It helps that he is played by Yoon Park, whose warm and nuanced performance adds layers of empathy to the role. I might be a bit biased since Yoon Park is one of my favorites, making me more willing to excuse the character’s future ethical lapses.
Meanwhile, the third brother’s love story seems less complicated, shaping up to be a standard romance or possibly a short-lived love triangle. While not as dramatic, it provides a breather from the heavier storylines.
The youngest brother, my personal favorite, brings some refreshing warmth to the show. His romance with the ML’s daughter is free of cheating drama, making their story both sweet and likable. However, his background as a Navy SEAL with a hidden medical condition strains believability. In real-life high-level special operations, strict medical checks would prevent such oversights. This lack of realism is a noticeable flaw in an otherwise enjoyable subplot.
Beyond the brothers, the ML’s son, a doctor, seems to be in a rapidly deteriorating relationship. His girlfriend, likely to be swept away by the professor, barely interacts with him over these episodes, signaling an inevitable breakup.
Overall, with five developing love lines—some compelling and others questionable—the drama keeps viewers hooked through messy relationships, ethical dilemmas, and moments of genuine connection. The balance between heartwarming and morally gray storylines ensures there’s something for everyone, even if not all arcs are equally appealing.

Love Again
You never fell out of love. It’s just that your significant other had passed. So, you honor your love together by living alone, raising your two children. Until….As someone in this situation without the until, maybe that’s why I am enjoying the unfolding of the leads story. In my mind and heart like the lead guy, absolutely no. Of course it can happen and seeing theirs is a delightful watch.
Not a new plot line, but these are reasons this is gluing. First, leads are middle aged. Refreshing. Second, because of it, there’s not a lot of cliches. I mean the overused, abused tropes are barely there. The stages of male lead falling in love again is so adorable. As for female lead, she’s the heart of the show, and all the male stars. She’s spontaneous, funny, kind, and lovely. She too has her own story so this unlikely pair coming together is the cutest thing.
The additional casts and their own stories makes this long drama wholesome, to me. The creations of build ups of relationships are great. No nonsense misunderstandings, push and pulls. Instead, the directors gives us these characters that are totally relatable to any of us. How they manage is straightforward.
It might not be for everyone but it can be for anyone. Mind you this review is mid point of this ongoing show, but that’s the flow of it. Will follow with afterthoughts upon conclusion hoping upon hoping it remains good and not fall on kdrama curse of mid point fall apart.
