This drama is indeed a piece of art

Well, as the title itself suggests, this story is about a woman, most well known as Sarah Kim and how she has managed to create everything (her persona(s), a very bougie brand and very convincing stories/lies) from nothing in her very own way, which definitely can be described as art.

The more you try to dig into her story and past, the more you realize that you know nothing about Sarah Kim. The detective (ML) found that out the hard way!

The story was captivating. It left the viewer questioning everything and everyone every single episode. But towards the very end everything finally started to connect, we finally got the full story of how FL managed to fool us and all the people in the drama. It was genius.

It's worth noting that we actually never find out who she really is or why she doesn't have an identity, but honestly, while it initially left me confused, it didn't take away the charm of this drama for me. I was instead so taken aback by how smart the FL is, how she managed to manipulate so many people at once and used them at perfect times.

Shin Hye Sun once again absolutely killed her role :)

Luxo que Brilha, Pertencimento que Corta

À primeira vista, A Arte de Sarah se apresenta como vitrine, luxo, tecidos caros, ambientes impecáveis, gente que “chegou lá”. Tudo muito bonito, muito silenciosamente opressor. Porque aqui o luxo não é cenário, é linguagem de poder.

O drama não fala apenas de ascensão social, fala de pertencimento. Ou melhor, da obsessão por ele. Sarah não quer só entrar, ela quer ser reconhecida como parte legítima de um mundo que dita regras invisíveis, cruéis e excludentes. E é aí que a série fica interessante.

Pertencer tem preço. E não é baixo.
O custo é a própria identidade.

A narrativa expõe como ambientes elitizados moldam comportamento, emoções e moral. Não basta ter dinheiro, é preciso performar, silenciar, se ajustar. O afeto é condicionado, o amor é transacional, a ética é flexível conforme o status. Tudo muito elegante. Tudo muito frio.

Sarah não é heroína nem vilã. É produto e agente do sistema. Em muitos momentos, causa empatia. Em outros, incômodo. E isso é mérito do roteiro, que se recusa a simplificar. O drama entende que o desejo de pertencimento nasce da exclusão, mas pode facilmente escorregar para a corrosão ética.

No fundo, A Arte de Sarah pergunta sem pedir licença:
quem você precisa deixar de ser para caber onde quer estar?

Luxo encanta. Pertencer seduz.
Mas nem tudo que reluz acolhe.
E nem todo lugar que te aceita te respeita.

Entre génie et frustration... Voilà voilà !

Dans "The Art of Sarah", on suit une femme qui a construit toute sa vie autour d’une identité soigneusement fabriquée. Mais un événement vient tout faire vaciller... une enquête démarre, et les couches de ce mensonges commencent à se fissurer. Clairement entre les faux-semblants, manipulation et quête de vérité, le drama explore jusqu’où on peut aller pour devenir quelqu’un d’autre… et surtout ce que ça coûte vraiment 😅.

Franchement, sur le papier, j’étais hypée. Déjà parce que Shin Hye Sun 🫶🏻🔥. Je vais pas mentir, je me suis lancée dans le drama pour elle, et encore une fois elle ne m'a pas déçu une seule seconde. Elle est élégante, mystérieuse, et dangereusement complexe, et elle jongle le tout avec une finesse de ninja 👌🏻.

Sur le départ, l’idée de suivre cette femme avec ses identités multiples, et voir Park Mu Gyong, le détective, se demener pour démêler les pièces de son passé… franchement ça fonctionnait 👍🏻. J'ai également aimé ce contrastes entre richesse et marginalité qui perdure tout le long ✨.

Mais… parce que oui, j'ai un mais 😅. Le rythme est un peu inégal par moment... J'ai trouvé que l’enquête mettait du temps à se densifier... du coup parfois je décrochais...

Et alors cette fin… là j'avoue, j’ai levé les yeux au ciel 😐. Je comprends l’idée, genre laisser planer l’ambiguïté, montrer que la vérité n’est jamais totalement accessible quand toute une vie repose sur des mensonges… Sur le papier, c’était audacieux. Sur l’écran, ça m’a laissée perplexe... Par exemple, l’identité réelle de Sarah reste floue, certaines relations et motivations sont à moitié expliquées, et des éléments clés disparaissent presque sans raison...

Au lieu d’un puzzle qui se referme, il m'ont dit : “à toi d’interpréter”... mais perso j’avais besoin d’un minimum de résolution. Et là… ben frustration puissance 1000 😤. Frustrant parce que l’intrigue avait tout pour être puissante...

Bref… Shin Hye Sun est incroyable, l’histoire a du potentiel et certaines scènes fonctionnent à fond, mais la fin et le rythme un peu mou ont rendu mon expérience mitigée... ✌🏻

A personagem principal vive como se fosse rica, vendendo bolsas de luxo e se infiltrando entre os poderosos para se beneficiar deles. Mas quando o corpo de uma mulher aparece, a polícia pensa que ela foi assassinada e a investigação acaba revelando que sua vida toda era uma farsa.
E um dorama inteligente, mas não achei envolvente.
Ele provoca reflexões, mas não cria tensões suficientes.
Gosto de thrillers de mistério criminal e psicológico com críticas sociais, porém, tive a sensação que nao entendi nada, achei um pouco confuso a história e o final foi 👎

A very smart drama!

It’s genius that Sarah’s name is never revealed at any point in the series. It shows just how much she manipulated and deceived everyone. As a viewer, I felt tricked in every episode, my opinion kept changing all the time. And that was exactly the point of the series.
Sarah killing her own impostor and disfiguring her face just so the police would later need her to confess that she was the real Sarah Kim, and not the dead one was absolutely insane. But she knew that if she admitted it, she would lose everything. So she never did.
In the end, her brand remained intact and kept growing more and more, even with her in prison. And she didn’t care about being locked up, because she knew her greatest obsession was still standing.

Shin Hae-sun keeps surprising me more and more.
