OMG what a gem!!!!
I love this drama!!! it is so well done!!! All episodes!!! what ppl call "too much talking after ep 5" is super interesting, as those two talk phylosphy of conning etc."IT WAS FAKE, BUT iT WAS NOT A LIE.
SARAH REALLY LOVED BUDOAR "
How did I miss it back then when it was airing?? BC THE MDL SYNOPSIS WAS SOOOO BAD. It looked like a really boring drama.
But this is about a female con artist who really figured out rich women and really went after them - created what they wanted and then stole from them. Wow great job
THat Budoar store and bags and the whole experience were really good, actually! Creating an EXPERIENCE for the rich... SHE DID A GREAT JOB!!!!!
This drama is SO FUN!!!!! It is "girls story" as well as class story.... about women trying to be someone... about "low girls" and "rich girls" and everyone trying to be pretty and have pretty things and higher status... about female friendships and women as enemies... FASCINATING about being slaves of the system... about the societal prejudices....
also at the time of epstein files, this drama tries to focus on women as epsteiners and their male prostitutes. What a cheesy cover up and distraction from epstein files... On one hand, it is good to show the equality of genders in doing evil things, on the other hand, it is a total coverup of the real epstein files :)
I started watching it ONLY BC I LEARNED HOW GOOD IT WAS ON THIS BLOG https://byrei.ink/
It is so nice to have a drama about women too.
ML was ML in Love Scout. He is good at this detective role actualy But his eyes look like plastic surgery gone bad. His eyes pop out so much it is creepy

GOOD THRILLER with Good Cast !
There are mysteries that are difficult to solve… and the case of Sarah Kim is a major one. This Korean thriller plunges us into an investigation as elegant as it is dizzying, centered on the mysterious CEO of a luxury empire, linked to an unsolved murder case that everyone seemed to have closed a little too hastily. When a determined detective decides to reopen the case, he immerses himself in a labyrinth of deception where each layer he peels back leads him further into error, to the point of almost losing his mind. I loved the sophisticated direction, the precise writing, the effective format, and above all, the pacing, which didn't bore me for a single second. The mystery is brilliantly constructed: the pieces of the puzzle come together as the investigation progresses, and like the detective, I often found myself swimming in an ocean of clues, faced with multiple leads. Lee Jun-hyuk delivers a solid performance, completely at ease in the role of an investigator obsessed with the truth, while Shin Hye-sun proves once again that she can play any role without flinching, embodying a Sarah Kim who is as fascinating as she is elusive. Between psychological tension, identity play, and a luxurious atmosphere with dark undertones, The Art of Sarah is a gripping thriller that constantly blurs the lines between antagonist and protagonist, keeping us guessing until the very last minute. Frankly, I can only recommend it; it's practically exactly what I needed right now in a crime drama (I should mention that this isn't usually my preferred genre), but it's truly worth watching (a little nod to Celebrity if you enjoyed the world of luxury and deception). Was this review helpful to you?

Citizen Kim by Or Son-Wel
"Is a fake that seems perfectly real really fake ?"Shin Hye-sun, best actress. End of sentence. That's all.
A thrilling series, with a new twist in every episode. I really liked how effective it was. Just the right length, even if it does drag a little in the middle. The themes are well explored and really gripping. It's quite clever !
"I felt deprived of something that had never belonged to me."
All these luxury bags, all these luxury items, it's high time to put an end to it. These people clearly don't pay enough tax and feel far too secure to walk around with them in public. "When did it all go wrong ?" It's amusing to talk about Ponzi schemes, but capitalism is based on them. The whole system is a huge scam based on debt. "My mistake was wanting to become rich. You don't become rich, you're born rich."
Sarah Kim, who no longer knows who she is because she keeps taking on new roles and doing what is expected of her... welcome to the world of autistic people. It's exhausting, isn't it ? I know. And it goes well with the big twist (which we see coming, anyway). A clash with oneself, with one's fellow human beings, alienated by money, obsessed with commodity fetishism...
"I'm not sorry, and I apologise for that." Great line.
_And Jung Da-bin finally starring in a good series ! Well done to her. I never doubted her. Or maybe just a little.
_"Splendid melancholy", why get that tattooed on yourself ? Joyful depression, obscure clarity, excellent Nolan. These oxymorons are so bizarre.
_I loved the moment when she turns around and says her real name : "Rosebud". Now that's cinema, the real thing.

Captivating
I won't say a negative word about the acting because it was spectacular. I just finished the drama in one setting and it kept me determined to finish it. I don't know why people are saying the story lost it's way. Because the given name is already telling you how the FL crafted her identity. And the story stayed true to itself. Also, the viewers who are trying to find the motive behind all of this I guess you didn't noticed but it was all about how it's the love/hate relationship of her for luxury goods. And she also fulfilled her ambition even though it doesn't belong to her anymore. Because just like the investigator said, "how does it feel to con the whole world?"On the side note, This is one of those dramas that I don't know how to rate. It's great, it's not a masterpiece, but it was really good to watch.

A Mind Game You Don’t See Coming
The Art of Sarah really pulled me in with how smart and layered it is as a mystery-thriller. It’s not the kind of story that just gives you clues and expects you to follow—it actually plays with your mind. Every episode made me question what’s real, who to trust, and what Sarah’s true intentions are. What stood out to me the most is how Sarah is such a skilled manipulator. She doesn’t rely on force or obvious lies—she reads people, understands their weaknesses, and uses that against them so subtly that you almost don’t notice it at first. There were moments where I caught myself believing her, only to realize later that I was being played too. That’s how convincing she is.
The tension builds so well throughout the story. The twists don’t feel random—they’re carefully placed, and when they hit, they actually make you rethink everything that happened before. It’s the kind of thriller that keeps you mentally engaged, not just emotionally.
Overall, The Art of Sarah is gripping, clever, and honestly a bit unsettling in the best way. It shows how dangerous someone can be not because of power, but because of how well they understand people—and Sarah proves that perfectly.

The Art of Sarah - When identity becomes art, and truth a psychological investigation
The Art of Sarah is, at its core, art. And art doesn’t need explaining. It is observed, felt, and interpreted differently by each of us. What initially seems like a simple K-drama inspired by real life quickly evolves into a psychological study of identity, ambition, and the illusion of perfection. At the center of the story is Sarah—a fascinating, hard-to-define character. I can’t say whether her life is a masterpiece or a carefully orchestrated construct. But I do know she may embody the unfulfilled dream of many: the desire to belong to the “elite world” and to build a luxury brand that becomes synonymous with success.
Shin Hye-sun and the Art of Becoming a Character
Shin Hye-sun’s performance is the heart of this series. She crafts a character with a thousand faces, without exaggeration or unnecessary dramatics. She relies on silence, glances, and subtle gestures.
Sarah isn’t just acted—she is lived.
The psychological transformations she undergoes are delicate but perceptible. And the fact that she manages to seem like “that person she’s always been,” regardless of context, demonstrates Shin’s artistic maturity. No matter how complex the role, she makes it unforgettable.
Sarah—Eccentric or Simply a Dream Taken to the Extreme?
Sarah isn’t unstable; she is fiercely ambitious. Eccentric, yes. Image-obsessed, perhaps. But human.
Her dream of creating a luxury brand and becoming part of South Korea’s elite drives all her choices. The series doesn’t judge her—it examines her. And we, the audience, are left to decide: is it art, or is it manipulation?
Detective Park Mu-gyeong—The Voice of Reason in a World of Appearances
In contrast to Sarah stands Detective Park Mu-gyeong, played by Lee Joon Hyuk. Charismatic, stubborn, and highly attentive to detail, he becomes the story’s realist anchor.
His investigation is not just procedural—it’s psychological. Every testimony provides a new perspective on Sarah. Every detail shifts the direction of the inquiry.
Lee Joon Hyuk plays smartly, without dramatic excess. His character isn’t just seeking answers; he’s searching for the truth behind the perfect image.
The Surprise of Kim Jae-won
One of the show’s surprises for me was Kim Jae-won. Usually seen in intense or antagonistic roles, here he brings a different side—more vulnerable, more nuanced.
Though he doesn’t dominate the screen constantly, his contribution to the story’s dynamic is significant, balancing the tension between appearance and reality.
Narrative Structure and Atmosphere
The series uses a frame-story technique, alternating between past and present with careful pacing. It never confuses the plot or disrupts the rhythm. Everything flows naturally.
There are tense moments and sensitive themes, but nothing feels gratuitous or overdone. The focus is more on psychology than on visual shock.
Synopsis
Sarah Kim is found in a situation that raises many questions. Detective Park begins an investigation to uncover the truth. But as the inquiry progresses, the question becomes increasingly complex: who is Sarah, really?
Cast
Shin Hye-sun
Lee Joon Hyuk
Kim Jae-won
Jun Da-bin
The Art of Sarah has 8 episodes, each 36–40 minutes long, and is available on Netflix.
The series is not just a thriller—it’s an exploration of identity, ambition, and the cost of the perfect image. Perhaps Sarah is art. Perhaps she’s just a flawlessly constructed illusion.
And it’s precisely this ambiguity that makes the series unforgettable.
I say it’s worth watching. What would you choose: truth or dream?

Definitely worth watching.
I really enjoyed The Art of Sarah. The acting was so good, especially Shin Hye-sun. She played her role perfectly.. smart, calm, and always one step ahead. I loved how her character managed to con rich people so smoothly. It was exciting to watch. I also liked how the drama showed rich people going crazy over overpriced branded bags and luxury items. It felt realistic and kind of funny, but also showed how obsessed people can be with status and image. Overall, it was fun, intense, and really well acted. Was this review helpful to you?

10/10 thriller
alot of people might find this drama really confusing but if you see it properly, everything does make sense. i loved the storyline, acting and the plot twists. shin hye sun did a great job as sarah kim in my opinion. and in the last episode, they did reveal it that shin hye sun was the real sarah kim and not kim mi jeong. if you look at her while she changed into her jail uniform, you will be able to see s stitch mark which proves that she donated her kidney as kim eun jae i.e she is the real sarah kim. the director did a great job.Was this review helpful to you?

Quick and intriguing
A quick thriller show.I really like how the story was told. It kept me on the edge of my seat i could not stop myself from clicking 'next episode'.
The unreliable narrator aspect was well done and the quick thinking by the lead at the end was smart.
The show does not answer the question about who Sarah Kim is cause this show is not about that, it's about how one becomes Sarah Kim

A Fun Time with Shin Hae Sun
Really compelling story about the multiple faces of our Sarah Kim. It’s interesting to think about how many different kinds of “us” there are. I honestly found myself rooting for Sarah quite a bit and a little annoyed at the judgement from Mu Gyeong. Part of the reason Sarah existed is due to the unfair practices the pushed her into a 500k debt. The samwol store that makes their employees pay for lost merchandise and yet won’t even allow them an accessible place for the bathroom. The illegal loan sharks that forced a signature for more money. Even so, she saved the man whose business pushed her farther into debt. Sarah isn’t perfect but I felt I could still appreciate her sheer ingenuity and tenacity to survive. Also, I don’t think it’s a scam to create a luxury brand because that’s literally what they all do. Poetic, really, at the end that the while Mu gyeong held contempt of Sarah for her lies, he also gave him to reach his own ambitions. I think once Sarah is released, she’ll rise again though and i’d love to see it.Was this review helpful to you?
Who are we? Are we who we believe ourselves to be, or who others see us as?
If you need one reason to watch this drama, it’s Shin Hae Sun. She is unbelievably good in every role she plays. Even when the script is lacking (which unfortunately happens more and more these days), her characters are always interesting and unique. She takes on challenging roles and delivers them brilliantly. This is no exception. The story is quite intriguing. It’s not perfect, and at times it may feel confusing. But… it’s entertaining and good enough for binge-watching. You can’t really complain about the concept or the acting. However, the execution isn’t without flaws. Is it worth giving this drama a chance? If you have time, the answer is yes. If your schedule is tight - maybe not.
There are many things that simply don’t make sense. That can definitely be off-putting. I was aware of it the entire time I was watching, but I decided to ignore it. It was entertaining enough for me. If you can do the same, you’ll probably enjoy it too.
The biggest issue lies in the high-fashion world portrayed in the drama. Too many elements lack logic. I think the screenwriter either did it intentionally for the sake of the story and chose to overlook realism, or didn’t do enough research. And if it’s the latter, that’s even more disappointing, especially considering how much information is easily accessible online.
However, the strongest point of this story is its portrayal of people. It paints a picture of society that, in my opinion, is far from optimistic - it may even feel quite sad. But it is necessary and important. This society is hungry and full of ambition. Desire can only grow, never diminish. People want more, but often not for themselves, rather for appearances. In such world, does anyone still live for themselves, or only for how others perceive them?
Moreover, some doors can never be crossed, no matter how hard you work or how much you sacrifice. Some things are simply beyond our reach. When the boy says he does something simply because it’s “fun”, it hits you how much you had to sacrifice, how much you had to risk, while for him it was just an adventure - possible only because of his status.
It certainly isn’t an uplifting story, but it does make you think. It’s not worth living for others , it’s worth living for yourself. And happiness has to be found within. Otherwise, the unfulfilled hunger for ambition will only continue to grow. And happiness will never come.
