A Fortune for your Watchlist

If you like the drama Yummy Yummy Yummy then A Farmer's Fortune is for you. This drama is packed with a lot exciting scenes and fresh plots that will make you eager to watch episode after episode. The interactions between characters is so wholesome and family based oriented which brings out colors in their crafts and facing problems a lot of normal villagers in their era faces is the nail in the coffin for me. The only sad thing is each episodes is 10-15 minutes long. For the wondering souls in the review section i hope you give this drama a try.

Cute and easy watch

Quick day-binge drama that’s easy to watch. At less than 14 minutes an episode, nothing is skip-inducing, even, the moments of “bad people doing bad things again”.
Leads that behave like adults to resolve potential misunderstandings.
And a family that stands together without unreasonable conflicts.
We do get a bit of contrived opposition towards the end, but, for a short drama it’s not that bad of a detour.
I wouldn’t revisit this myself but can see it being remade (as these are) into a regular full series once this is forgotten. But, as filler while you wait for your regular airing drama days, it’s not a waste of time.

As far as minis go, it's pretty mid.

The two kids are adorable, so I'll give 'em points for that. -their acting was probably better than most of the adults-
The female empowerment narrative was about as subtle as a neon sign. Overdone and unrealistic ie: eyeroll inducing.
The "plot twist" can be seen coming from miles away, perhaps that was intentional though.
The "village" leader is more like the "village idiot" leader. He'd do real well as a modern day politician.
-the villians are cartoon level evil, as are their "freak of the week" schemes.
FL's mother is doing too much. Tone it down would ya? Lol
Overall, some cute and funny moments, but could have been cut down probably an hour of run time even as a mini. Something to throw on when you're bored, but don't want to invest any time & brain power in a more complex plot.

A pleasant mini-series (24 x 10") thanks to the talented actors.

PLOT: The FL rebels against the family law stipulating that only sons can inherit the business. Her greedy brother and sister-in-law want to take advantage of their mother's dementia to sell the family restaurant. The FL, reeling from the restaurant's collapse, finds herself back in time, as the abusive stepmother of the "founding ancestors."

+++ Excellent actors, ALL of them, including the children. They manage to bring the story to life, despite the plot holes and the obviously limited budget. Kudos!!
+++ Lively direction, with no dull moments. A fairly coherent story.

### The FL's voice is unbearable!! You get used to it, but...
### Very lighthearted atmosphere, with exaggerated comedic characters.
### Abrupt ending, happy, but without any explanation :(

=> A nice watch during an evening.
******************************************************************

Kudos !!

More slice-of-life, please!!

YESSS transmigrating to the past as a stepmother!! While this is a pretty fresh concept in Cdrama-land, I've been reading Cnovels with this premise for years. And you would be surprised how much revenge and action these writers can fit in a "slice-of-life".

A FARMER'S FORTUNE is sweet, cute, and a quick watch at 15-min episodes. That makes the total runtime around 6 hours, which honestly makes it great as a bite-sized piece of enjoyment. We start with our FL in the present, struggling to reclaim her ancestral property from her scheming brother and sister-in-law, and just aggravated with the family rule that properties get handed down to males. So while she's lamenting to her ancestors, of course she knocks someone's altar down and gets transported back in time... as his stepmother?!

This story was so, so, so cute. If you enjoy slice-of-life historical dramas then this will be up your alley. The villains' schemes are countered pretty smoothly but they put up enough of a fight to make the plot engaging. The side characters have heart, and there are unexpected twists surrounding the ML as well. Also I love love love child-raising stories!! It's not too deep in this short drama series but the kids do play a big role in the story and are very likeable as well.

Things to look forward to:
❀ Sweet and hardworking FL who has to turn everyone's opinion of her as an evil stepmother to someone who cares about her kids
❀ Mysterious but supportive ML who ends up respecting (and ofc loving) the FL despite initial wariness
❀ Super cute kids!! And love the character development of the older brother
❀ Silly antagonists who keep the pot stirring
❀ Soft and tender romance with a pretty natural, smooth progression

✕ The only con I would say is a meh ending - it's happy and satisfying but too quick to fully even enjoy before it ends.
BUT honestly since it ends on a good note I can't complain too much.
