"humans can live without faith. humans can live without hope. but, humans cannot live without love."
a masterpiece through and through. i have no bad words to say (except they should've made barthtanrak look a little older in the end hahahahahah, like come on, they were like almost 50 years old but didn't even look a day over 20)usually when you watch a show, you just know how it's gonna end, but that wasn't the case with ticket to heaven. it kept you on your toes the WHOLE WAY THROUGH.
the starting of ep 1 was already chefs kiss. the Bible verses in the start of every episode? so well thought out.
and i just can't stop praising gemini and fourths acting. there was a knot in my stomach and it felt like my throat was closing up in every emotional scene. even if it was just a normal scene, like them playing in the waterfall or listening to music together, there was this sense of impending doom washing over me.
tanraks guilt????? you could FEEL it through the screen. the end of ep 2 is one of the BEST scenes fourth has done. the guilt for thinking that he sinned just because he was catching feelings for barth, oh my god. fourth the actor you are. <3
and barth? i relate to him so much. his feelings towards god were so valid and Gemini portrayed that so well. you could feel his pain. he felt that he had lost almost everything in life just because of the god he preached. because it was considered a sin that he liked guys.
the scene with barth and his parents in ingrained in my brain. and the fact that barth got the scar on his eyebrow because of a Bible felt like it was crushing my heart.
while barths mother wasn't perfect, she did the best for her child.
a special mention to barth and his mother's conversation at the prison. i cried my eyes out in that scene. and also the way barth prayed to God after talking to her was a very important scene, signifying his feelings towards his god.
also, kongdech (played by ashi), i kind of understood why he said things like that to tanrak, he was also just a kid who felt that he was slowly losing his best friend. im glad he stayed on the path he actually wanted to follow and got ordained, his first sermon was beautiful.
father arnon (played by aun) and master phak (played by bright) were also really important characters in barth and tanraks lives. they never tried to force them to do what they weren't ready to do and supported them through everything even if it was considered 'against' their faith.
im so happy barth and tanrak got their happy ending, even though their path was full of difficulties, they got through it because they were beside each other.
overall, a masterpiece, probably one of the best shows gmmtv has put out ever. even though it was short, it changed my perspective on various things and I'm glad that i got to experience this!
"and these three things always remain. those are; faith, hope and love. and love is the greatest of all."

A piece of art
TTH was the most intense serie I’ve watch so far. Gem4th SLAYED their acting so freaking hard, combined with P’Aof directing and attention to details, the lighting, the editing,..... You don’t just watch them struggle and emphatise with them. You FEEL with them. It’s a whole experience and I’m not kidding. I’ve rarely felt so much while watching a serie. I have no words. It is perfection. There’s no need to be religious to watch the show. From the very beginning, I’ve been feeling that God (and Father Anon), could be viewed as a personification of “society” rejecting gays (or any type of alternative relationship/love). If you see it from that perspective, everyone can identify to Barth/Tanrak, even when you are not religious, as long as you struggle to be yourself in fear of being judge by others. And the whole show is just about the fear of being rejected when you are different, and how that fear can be worse than anything else. (On that, I would have loved to see them address more directly the fact that the whole lying and hiding the relationship was the real sin, and once Tan accepted who he was, he was back on God’s path, especially as it is one big point in what the Father says to Tan (‘love is never wrong, it’s our actions that matters’)).
I would have wanted to see them go back to school and be accepted/forgiven directly. But I think the timeskip might have a symbolic: If you see god/Father Anon as a personification of society, it makes sense to make us wait for 2025, when gay marriage is legal, to have them come back and be acknowledged by god, aka society. I still would have preferred them to show us more: More of BarthTanrak growing up, how they would have learn to come at peace with who they are and their believes,.... Instead of having them talk about it. But I’m still satisfied with what P’Aof gave us, cause I think it’s what mattered to him. So I’ll just take it, cause this man is a freaking genious.

Love and Faith
I'm still not over this absolutely amazing and unforgettable love story. Honestly, I don't think any review could ever do this series justice. If someone asked me to recommend just one show to watch, this would be my answer without a second thought.Everything about this series feels perfect—the plot, the characters, the storytelling, the emotions. Every single episode has a purpose, and not once did I feel like I was wasting my time. There isn't a single scene that I'd skip or regret watching.
What makes this series so special is that it isn't just about love between two people. It's about believing in yourself, finding hope when life feels impossible. It reminds you that even when everything seems to be falling apart, you can still find someone who makes life worth holding on to.
Tanrak and Barth's story beautifully captures the emotional conflict that many queer people experience. It explores the struggle between faith, identity, love, and acceptance with so much honesty and compassion. It shows that believing in God and being true to yourself don't have to exist in opposition. That message alone stayed with me long after I finished watching.
This series made me smile, laugh, cry, and sit in silence with emotions I didn't even realize I was carrying. Some moments are so raw and deeply moving that they reach places in your heart you've kept hidden for years.
What I admire most is its authenticity. Nothing feels exaggerated or unnecessary. The characters feel like real people, the emotions feel genuine, and the relationships develop so naturally that you almost forget you're watching a drama. It feels as if you're living alongside them rather than simply watching their story unfold.
This isn't just a BL romance—it's a story about love in its purest form: love for another person, love for yourself, faith, family, forgiveness, and hope.
I truly believe the hours you spend watching this series will stay with you long after it's over. It isn't just entertaining—it changes something within you. And by the end, you'll find yourself learning something from every single character.

Very interesting
The acting in this show is really great! The two lead actors make me really invested in the show as I am just drawn in by their unique backstories and their characters. I can’t wait to see how they develop! The cinematography I find to be very entrancing as well. I like how they color graded the different scenes depending on the overall mood of the scene, and I really like the sets they made as well, to accurately portray the backdrop in which the story is set in.

Ticket to Heaven may become one of the most important Thai dramas of the year.
Just finished Episode 1 of *Ticket to Heaven*, and honestly, the 1 year and 6 months of waiting was worth it.Even though this is only the first episode of a six-episode series, I already feel that this story has the power to raise awareness and start important conversations. Set in 1996, it reminds viewers of a time before broader LGBTQ+ acceptance in society. While some people found understanding and support, many others—whether gay, bisexual, pansexual, or simply struggling to express their identity—were treated as if they were sick, broken, or in need of fixing.
One of the most heartbreaking realities portrayed in the series is how some young people were sent to seminaries or religious institutions in the belief that their identities could be changed. Rejection is painful for anyone, but rejection because of who you are is a different kind of wound.
The atmosphere of the series perfectly matches its theme. The sadness, the isolation, and the weight carried by the characters are felt in every scene. It already has me emotional because the story reflects the experiences of countless people—Catholic or otherwise—who have faced similar struggles in real life.
The direction is excellent, which comes as no surprise. This is another remarkable work from Aof Noppharnach Chaiwimol, the director behind Bad Buddy, Last Twilight, A Tale of Thousand Stars, and Moonlight Chicken.
And with Gemini Norawit Titicharoenrak and Fourth Nattawat Jirochtikul leading the cast, I have no doubt I'll be watching this series more than once.
If Episode 1 is any indication of what's to come, *Ticket to Heaven* may become one of the most important Thai dramas of the year.

Not 100% perfect, but close.
It's a happy ending! They proved me wrong, Hallelujah! The making quality and production value is very good, significantly better than typical GMM productions. Cinematography and lighting is also well done. The pace is slow, but picks up in the later episodes. The opening was great, the script and direction is also good. I love the symbolisms they used throughout, especially the one with Tanrak pressing the chamomile flowers given by Barth inside a Bible. It's filled with a lot of other metaphors. One of the problems is that the story doesn't feel like it was fully developed. The crisis needed to be deeper for the happy ending to truly feel profound. I wish they kept the tone of the pilot trailer.
How do I even express my love for Barth and Tanrak. One boy who lost his faith, and another who is wavering. In the end they find it through each other. I could write essays about the whole thing, but I urge you to watch it and understand on your own. The plot is simple, like a coming of age story. In the end it all boils down to Love is Love, and it is the most important of it all.
Another problem is that they do not look to be late 40's at all. Why a 30 year time lapse? There are some discrepancies if you look deep enough. But it doesn't take away from the beauty of this show.
The side characters are some of the nicest characters in fiction. This is how true followers of Christ are supposed to be. As much as love this, it feels a bit unrealistic.
In short, it is very good quality and very feel good with a touch of angst.
More series like this please.

Highly anticipated!!!
First impression: The cinematography is already breathtaking. My favorite thing about the series so far is the color gradient. The balance between warm and cool tones are well done giving the series a sense of nostalgia and familiarity. The story: The story is something truly universal and impactful and can resonate with people across many language barriers. The big question; how is love a sin? Why would God make me this way if it was truly damming. How come when I call out; He never answers? Tan and Bart are both two very relatable characters for people who grew up around Christianity and there will be times when you can see yourself in each character.
The actors and direction: Gemini and Fourth are one of the best choices for this series. I could perhaps also envision the pair such as Chokun and Aston in a similar if not adjacent role. I admire the commitment to address such an important topic with youth as many of us who are queer and grew up in religious families have felt troubled and guilty growing up. Many of have religious trauma and are trying to heal from our experiences with being queer and religious. Growing up feeling ashamed and wrong about these feelings that we are having being “damming” and “sinful” but its just love of the same sex. You hear God loves everyone until it’s the love between two men or two women. Until you feel dissociated with the body you were born in and not the one you’re meant to be in. The immersion that I already feel with the characters are deep and feel close to myself.
Overall expectations: I truly hope that the ending is not just the first scene we get of Bart returning back to the school to watch an ordain (my assumption is that its not Tan however not confirmed.) There are of course going to be many layers to such a heavy topic and no doubt a very roller coaster ride of emotions and feelings involved. As someone who is recently no longer associated with religion and currently healing, putting aside my bias, that ending alone would feel like a cop out. Honestly no matter what the ending will be there will be no truly satisfied party. However, in days where spikes of animosity towards queer people and homophobia being still prevalent and stigmatized, I hope for a more happy ending. It shouldn’t be “unrealistic” for these two men to hold space for each other even though one is religious and the other questioning.
There is so much queer media that just ends with separation and death and yet why do we as queer people keep accepting this as the bare minimum of media we get as representation? We deserve sunshine and happy endings as much as everyone else does. As of right now I’m excited and expecting a lot and hope this story can help many young queer people feel seen and supported. And I hope others who were not supported growing up can heal.

such a great start!
set in the 1990s, this is this story of Tonrak and Barth, “one that has lost all faith, one that is full of unwavering faith”.I absolutely love the cinematography and color grading. so dark and gritty, so different from GMMTV’s usual style, and exactly what this story deserves. everything felt so artistic and poetic. that one scene where Tonrak and Barth stop the crucifix from falling and their hands touch, the sheer symbolism of that scene!!
Fourth’s acting was as amazing as always! while I usually found Gemini’s acting quite stiff in his past dramas, here his acting felt pretty expressive. I could feel his anger at God, and life in general . when he said “then one day I realized, your God never helped me at all”, I FELT THAT!!
one this that me and a lot of other people seem to be confused about (mild spoilers ahead …)
is that in the beginning the Father says “hard to believe it’s been almost 20 years” when present timeline is 2025 and past timeline starts from 1996.
later on they say something about the ordination being over 10 years away, (ep1 19:05). so I’m guessing maybe the past timeline will go up to 2006-07, and that’s when Father and Barth met for the last time until the time skip. hence, their current meeting in 2025 being almost 20 years since the last time they met. I wonder how all that can fit in just 6 episodes, I hope nothing feels rushed!
so far, this is off to a great start, and I feel like we’re about to witness something extraordinary. can’t wait to see how this unfolds!
PS. ep1 gave me major I Told Sunset About You vibes, and that’s one of my most favorite BLs of all time! I’m wishing that TTH turns out be a masterpiece just like ITSAY🥹

Heaven Belongs to Those Who Love, Too
Ticket to Heaven is one of the most impactful series I've ever watched, and its importance is honestly beyond words. It's also one of the most beautiful productions I've ever seen, and to me, it deserves to be recognized as a true masterpiece of the BL genre.Whenever a story brings together sexuality and religion, you naturally expect it to be filled with pain, prejudice, and tragedy. But Tanrak and Barth's journey is so much more than that. It's a story about love, self-discovery, acceptance, and above all, hope, the hope of being able to be yourself, love freely, and find happiness on your own terms instead of staying trapped by the chains that were once placed on you.
What makes Ticket to Heaven so beautiful and poetic is the gentleness with which it tells such a sensitive story. The series reminds us that things can be different. Not every story about religion and sexuality has to end in suffering, rejection, or tragedy. There's room for acceptance, freedom, and a happy future.
Instead of focusing its conflicts on the world around the characters, the writing puts all its attention on Tanrak and Barth's internal struggles. That choice makes perfect sense and reinforces the idea that, more often than not, our biggest enemy is our own mind. The way their relationship develops is simply beautiful, built through glances, small gestures, and subtle touches. They're tiny moments, but they carry so much weight thanks to the incredible harmony between the directing, writing, and performances.
I've been following Gemini and Fourth since My School President back in 2022, and it's been amazing to watch them grow as actors. They're both incredibly talented and brought Tanrak and Barth to life in such a genuine way that I honestly can't picture anyone else playing these roles. Their performances are quiet and restrained, yet overflowing with emotion. Even when they barely say a word, they make you feel everything.
P'Aof once again proves why he's one of Thailand's best directors. His storytelling is exceptional. Every frame, every prop, and every little detail serves a purpose. Nothing is there just to look pretty, everything contributes to the story and the characters' emotional journey.
The cinematography is stunning, the soundtrack is delicate and deeply moving, and you can genuinely feel the amount of care that went into every part of the production. It's obvious that Ticket to Heaven was made with love, sensitivity, and heart, and that shines through from the very first episode to the last.
I know this series is going to stay with me for a very, very long time. Ticket to Heaven finds beauty where so many stories choose to find pain, proving that gentleness can be revolutionary too.
In the end, it reminds us that heaven belongs to those who love, too.
