at first I was like "this is gonna be a classical step-brother to lover, I'm bored i don't know what else I can watch so let's do this..."
In the first episode so much and nothing happened in the same time, I don't really know how to explain it. Wait for the end of the first episode to have some consistency.

The general plot is great but things are missing and the chemistry between the ML is not really there (talking about actors.. just me or the actor of Shen Nan kinda looks like Gyuvin from ZB1 🤔😂)

Overall its not a bad serie but not really a good either, it's just good to watch when you bored like i was 😂

Btw what is happening in the spin off??? Like what happened to the curse?

I'll Turn Back This Time is one of those dramas that slowly grows on you. It isn't flashy, it doesn't rely on big twists every episode, and it takes its time telling a story about regret, second chances, and the things we wish we could change if life gave us another opportunity. By the end, it becomes surprisingly emotional, especially if you also watch the special episode, which gives the story the closure the main series desperately needed.

Without that special episode, I think I would have left the drama feeling frustrated. The ending of the main series is simply too bittersweet, almost unfinished. The special episode doesn't completely change the story, but it changes how you remember it. It transforms sadness into acceptance and makes the entire journey feel worthwhile.

The concept itself is very appealing. Time-travel and second-chance stories are nothing new, but what I liked here is that the drama focuses less on changing history and more on changing people. The characters are forced to confront their regrets, missed opportunities, and the consequences of their own decisions. That emotional aspect is much stronger than the fantasy itself.

The acting is generally good. The cast understands the emotional tone of the story, and many scenes are genuinely touching. You can tell everyone is committed to the roles, and the more dramatic moments are handled with sincerity.

However, there is one thing that kept me from becoming completely invested.

I never fully believed the romance.

It's difficult to explain because it isn't really a chemistry issue. The actors work well together, and individually they both give convincing performances. But I never truly believed in the romantic side of their relationship. Throughout the drama, I often felt like I was watching two people who cared deeply about each other rather than two people who were genuinely in love.

That distinction is important because the entire emotional weight of a BL depends on believing that love story. Here, I saw affection, loyalty, and emotional dependence... but I rarely felt romantic desire. Something was missing. Whether it was the direction, the way the relationship was written, or simply the way the emotions were portrayed, I constantly felt a small distance between what the script wanted me to believe and what I was actually feeling.

Ironically, that makes the friendship aspect stronger than the romance itself. If the series had been presented as a story about soulmates in the broadest sense rather than specifically as a BL, I probably wouldn't have questioned it at all.

The production is solid throughout. The cinematography creates a nostalgic atmosphere that fits the story well, and the music supports the emotional moments without becoming intrusive. Everything is technically well done, which makes the emotional gap I felt between the characters stand out even more.

Final Thought

I'll Turn Back This Time is a beautiful and heartfelt drama about regret, forgiveness, and making peace with the past. The story is touching, especially once the special episode completes the narrative, and the cast delivers sincere performances throughout. The only thing preventing it from becoming truly exceptional for me is the central romance. I believed the friendship. I believed the affection. But I never completely believed the love. And in a BL, that missing spark makes all the difference.

What the hell did i just watched?

That 2.0 rating was only for their great acting and nothing else. Bruh the show doesn't have any plot, poorly written story.

The team behind the series don't even know what are they showing in the series . I had skipped many scenes coz it was getting way too cringey and uninteresting to me.


The shooting places were mesmerizing and their acting was good too.


By watching the show it felt like they have done the series in a very much low budget which shouldn't be a problem tho because i have seen many good and great series with amazing plots in a low budget.

I have only completed it because of Koi wen long :) or else it was really a pain to watch.

first of all, a little sad for the final episode (haven’t realize there was a special episode)
why does there have to be a sad ending...shen nan and shi wen went through so many difficult to be together...obstructed because the family didn't approve(harder part)...
Also they both have gone through various tests including life, death, together, apart, fighting, giving in and loving each other was they have gone through.
why is the struggle to live together and love each other so many obstacles and challenges...
anyway...

also thank you to the actors ... expecially the main actors and everyone involved making this series...

Special ep

Yes it has a happy ending and a 💋 scene .
Its in the. Special ep where shi wen remembers everything and after some 11 years they end up with each other. I literally cried both at the ep 6 and the special episode 😭. Thx director


The first ep I was traumatized by shi wen accident.
Later on as we moved with there lovely dovely ep , he still had died at the gallery .

Later on when shen turned back time he didn't meet shi wen and the story ended with a loose string and i cried the entire night thinking whyyyyyyyyyyy.


I thought of re-watching it before but the ending had disappointed me , thinking is that really fate , why did god let them meet if fate had something else planned and that was ?( them not be able to be together though they loved each other so much)
I hated this ending and hoped for a special ep at least but didn't know what to expect if it did.

Today finally i gathered up the courage to watch the special ep and thx god i did cuz now i am really similing like crazy and my heart is full .

I literally didn’t expect a kiss scene and it was really special for me 😭😭😭💓 my inner desire was fulfilled without hoping or asking gor it .

I am so glad I watched this .
It is really one of the best dramas (bl) in 2025 .
After watching many Chinese bl This one was a roller-coaster.
I hope they make more dramas like this and the impression of youth, would recommend watching it too .

L'ennesimo drama affossato dalla censura e dalla mentalità ristretta cinese

Le BL mascherate da Bromance con protagonisti due fratellastri non consanguinei sono un po' un tarlo fisso per la Cina, qualche rara volta con buoni risultati (vedi "Stay with me", 2023). Qualche speranza in partenza c'era, ma con aspettative molto contenute, insomma.
Già nel primo episodio succede praticamente di tutto: tanto, troppo, La serie è breve, ma le vicende andavano un po' diluite per dare linearità alla storia, mentre invece si susseguono passaggi così veloci da sembrare un po' slegati.
Il tempo, dicevo, è limitato, per cui sarebbe stato utile concentrarsi su un unico tema - la conoscenza e l'instaurarsi del rapportro tra i due - mentre invece viene inserito l'elemento del salto temporale all'indietro - non un flashback ma proprio un breve viaggio all'indietro nel passato - elemento che già di suo non mi fa impazzire ma che qui porta a dover ricostruire tutto da zero, dal primo incontro all'instaurarsi di un legame tra i due. Lo fai con un drama da 36 episodi, non con uno da 6 dove i minuti sono già più che contati.
Detto questo, pur non condividendo la linea di sviluppo della storia, mi sono sorpresa del fatto che si stesse via via rivelando una BL vera e propria: un passo avanti rispetto alla nota censura cinese?
Ovviamente - e purtroppo - no. Le poche serie cinesi che non trasformano BL in Bromance presentano solitamente due possibili e tristi risvolti: un amore malsano e aggressivo (Addicted Heroin, 2016, tanto per citarne uno) o un amore che viene "punito" con un finale triste, come è questo il caso. Per la Cina, insomma, la storia tra due protagonisti maschili può essere solo affetto fraterno, oppure un'attrazione malata oppure ancora un sentimento proibito da punire. Questo il sunto di come siamo messi nel 2025. Spiace perchè qualitativamente molte produzioni sono di medio-alto livello, ma continuo a non capire perchè fissarsi sul tema, con tutta la pesantezza della censura e del giudizio negativo, piuttosto che limitarsi ad altri generi.
Chiusa l'infelice parentesi, l'unica nota positiva a conti fatti è l'aver scoperto Kou Wei Long, giovane attore con un buon potenziale, qui alle prese con il suo primo ruolo da protagonista (Shen Nan) ma che spero di rivedere in altri drama in futuro.

El Tiempo

Un Bl que me encontré por casualidad, realmente no sabía que esperar pero conforme fueron pasando los caps me gustó.

Una historia corta donde vemos la historia de amor de Nan y Wen, me gusta el concepto del bucle temporal algo que no solemos ver mucho en series como estas, ame a los amigos y al otro pretendiente de Wen, así como también las escena cómicas que pudimos ver.

Aunque sinceramente creo que daba para mas desarrollo y esclarecer ciertos puntos que yo realmente no entendí por ejemplo que hizo Wen para cambiar el destino ya que Nan no puedo evitarlo por mas que lo intentará.
