I am surprised Huiju’s sister in law is the first to bring this up. Royals are not allowed to work or earn money. How has this not been talked about before? I understand Huiju is going into this marriage assuming she will divorce quickly, even so, she will have to step way from her businesses before marriage. Also, if we assume this drama will end in an HEA, how will they resolve this at the end?

To me a happy ending features the dissolution of royalty in its entirety. Re-write the rules so the families of nobility have to actually do something to deserve their status—aka "Noblesse Oblige". Change the constitution to democracy. Reiterate the founding principle of that school and spread them across the country to provide equal opportunities to all who merit them.

That would be interesting. I think it would be a first for this kind of kdrama alternate reality monarchy. I think I’ve watched every modern royalty kdrama and they have never dissolved the monarchy. Never say never though.

I was thinking the same... Since we'll be getting HE most probably, if this rule applies, it won't be fair for Huiju to stop working considering how much effort she had spent in Castle Group.

I see this as a major script flaw. Hui Ju is supposed to be super smart and is constantly asking her team to help with research for her plans. It doesn't make sense that either she or her Chief Secretary would not be researching the Royal Family and their rules as regards work. so how could she not know this "no working" rule? Which leads me to another question: HJ said that she needed the marriage to get the Princess title to help her gain control to take over Castle Group. So if they divorce, she no longer has the princess title, right? No Title and no royal backing. So how can she take over Castle Group? Isn't she back to square one?

True. It does not make any sense. I feel (and fear) that in the end, we will know that what Hui Jui really wants is to be able to choose what she wants in life. I think Hui Ju does not want to take over Castle Group, but she wants her father to recognize her achievements and say to her: If you want Castle Group, then it is yours.

If you check last episodes, we can see that she is always asking for things that she cannot have. I think it is more like she hates the idea of not being able to have something just because someone (society) told her she can't. I think what she wants is recognition.

I don't think this royal custom is as inviolate as you suggest.

Another thing the royals never do is marry commoners. So if the grand prince can void that unwritten law and wed the FL, why couldn't his bride ignore the no-work proscription?

Have we ever seen the FL fall to peer-pressure or give in without at least making an effort to make things go her way? Is the ML more likely to side with royal traditions than to support his beloved?

in ep. 6, they agreed that huiju keeps her title after divorce as long as she doesn't have a public controversy or breaks the law when laying out conditions for the contract marriage

I do not have the habit of correcting people online, but sorry, this is really bothering me. Constitutional monarchy is still a democracy. You're mixing up terms that are not as related as they seem and with so many people trying to overwrite what democracy is nowadays, I just can't let it be.

OK. Still, royalty is an anachronism in our era. At best it is a quaint throwback to a bygone era. At worst, it provides cover for secret societies to subvert & exert control over the entire planet. They perhaps served a purpose in humanities past, but are no longer needed.

It was especially nice seeing King Charles III and President Trump tell this to the bees!

Actually, based on the last episode, I think she intended to let her brother run the business whilst she was married just so that her dad could see how incompetent the brother was. I would say that this is a flawed judgement. They said in a previous episode that the brother tanked before a business that could have run itself.

She’s taking huge risk and underestimating her enemy, her brother might perform well tbh
