Deep in earth my love is lying and I must weep alone
Not a review, I can't handle that right now. Just a venting session:WHAT. THE. ACTUAL. FUCK. WHERE IS THE REST. WHERE IS MY DIET DR MOTHER FUCKING KELP. I NEED IT. NOW.
I was NOT prepared. NOBODY prepared me. I feel slighted. I am inconsolable.
Even though I know my boy is okay, I AM NOT. That was painful. Even if I knew the drama logic of him definitely not being gone, I still felt it. I STILL FEEL IT.
Don’t touch me.
Shit was good, though. Not sure how to feel anymore.
Reaching a state of emptiness as I write this.
Do not contact me.
Leave me to my sorrows.

How dare you?!?!?!?
I can’t believe what they did to Joker and Jack!!!!!!! 😭😭😭😭😭He was one of the best characters, and his fate was absolutely heartbreaking. The story was intense and well-written, but this particular event ruined so much for me. I need a second season where this never happened! Otherwise, I don’t think I can ever forgive the writers!

unnecessary
I honestly think this special episode was unnecessary—especially considering its almost 2-hour runtime. It felt excessively sadistic. The story could have ended meaningfully with the 12th episode.Several flashbacks felt out of place and unrelated to the current situation, making the episode feel disjointed and overly stretched.
Even after watching the end credit, I understand that it hints at or warrants a second season—but still, this story just didn’t sit well with me.
Just my honest opinion.

i dont like the end
the story is very good i love it. but the only thing i hate is the end. i must cry so hard it was so sad. i wish a happy end for them. I think that an happy end where better than this end. so the hole time i though joke comes back but he doesn't. the hole episode was so exciting and sometimes funny.i miss the love scene from both of them a little. the end where you can see the wedding is nice but sad too. why it must be this end. the hole series i was excited by every episode but i never though it will happen so bad things.
the acting from the characters are very good it is top. they know what they do. I wish more from them both

If they don't give us a second season I will cry again!
Okay I was prepared somethingt might happen, but I played hide and seek in the social media so I wouldn't get spoiled to much before watching this episode. And daxx I wasn't prepared for what happened. I was even less prepared to see a cliffhanger at the end of this episode with a completely terrified Joke!! How dare they!
I don't know what I should think of the wedding scene, even thought I can understand Jack. He wouldn't believe his loss after all.
I really hope this episode will lead us to a second season. Otherwise, I don't understand the end of the special episode. It all leads to a second season! Well let's hope and see what the future will hold for us!

Out of the Box
I really liked this special episode. I tried my best to avoid spoilers pre release on iQIYI and watching it I liked that it wasn’t like your typical special episode. It was an episode just about the length of a standard movie and the quality of production and the story was up to par with previous episodes. One critique of this though I’d say is that if we were going to wait so long for this we should’ve gotten a special YinWar song for this episode. I am unsure of their budget though so I won’t speak much on that because this is out of their pockets.
I liked that unlike normal special episodes this wasn’t fluff and full of happy moments. We still got great acting and action out of the cast. I was also happy to see a little more romance with MarkProm even though I was expecting more. I am still confused on Bonz and Took though.
I was left on the edge of my seat with Joke getting shot and seeing Yin as Jack act out the stages of grief really showed off his acting. I am also very excited that Joke isn’t dead and that we will get hopefully another season. Even if it takes a while I am willing to wait so we can get the ending we deserve. I applaud YinWar for going against the grain with Thai BL and for not being afraid to not give us a happy ending. Though that is what I want I feel like at least for now there is a bigger picture and they are choosing art over what makes people happy and I’m here for the ride.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more
A continuation of the main series more than a standalone show or even a bonus, this “special episode” offers more of the same good stuff the series did, inviting us to enjoy another crazy roller-coaster ride. Most of the cast returns with a bang as familiar characters to deliver one more chapter of the Jack & Joker saga; the performances are on par with what we’ve seen in the main series. YinWar chemistry again provides the main selling point of the show, with Yin deserving particular praise for his performance in the second half of the special.
All the beats are there and mostly the same: some goofiness, some joy and love, but also sadness and a slowly creeping feeling of dread, trying to overshadow the happiness. There’s also some teasing of the audience – particularly with Aran’s and Tattoo’s situationship. The special includes one more important aspect the show did not explore to such extent: personal loss and how we deal with it – this is the emotional core of the episode.
A love untainted, a loss unimaginable, a pain only a heartless person wouldn’t feel and sorrow that lasts till the post-credits scene – that’s the special in a nutshell. I cried, I enjoyed it, I already rewatched it.

I’m convinced people didn’t actually watch
I’m convinced people are just review bombing or they didn’t actually watch the show. To say the characters were one dimensional proves that. The amount of depth they had was actually impressive. This series was about family, friends, and the real lives some people face in Thailand. There was a comedy aspect but the show was mostly a drama. I’m not one of the people that found the cardboard cut out funny. I found it quite sad, and see what they were trying to portray.Throughout the wedding Jack believes or truely wants to believe Joke is alive. He even yells out “why do people keep thinking you’re dead”. I think he believes until that moment that Joke will return in time for the wedding and when he doesn’t, the stand in was the idea of his friends. I mean he punched them when they told him otherwise! Until Jack is sitting at that table after the wedding and he breaks down and realizes Joke is not coming.
Have the people that found his grief funny never been through it? Jack classically went through the stages of grief and the wedding was him working through that. Grief can do some wild things to your mind. His friends and family adore Jack and they are going to stand by his side and do what they have to do. Like making a fake Joke or Grandma talking to Joke at the dinner table. That’s what this entire series was about! They also mention that Jacks family comes from Chinese descent so it could have also been a ghost wedding which makes sense for the stand in as well.
As a YinWar fan, yeah we kind of expect the sad storylines because this is what Yin and War are sooo good portraying. The acting in the show was so well done, the characters are fun and they left an open ending for the chance at a season 2. Remember they funded this entire show themselves, so if it did well there would be chance at coming back.
I think some people went into this show expecting something that it wasn’t. It was never going to be a cushy romance story. It was something completely new, well thought out, mature, and exciting for YinWar and their fandom.
Overall, is the special heartbreaking? Absolutely and I recommend stopping after they meet back up in the room (you’ll know) if you don’t want the heartache. However, even all the way through the end credits, I think this was really good, taking place a year after the events of the show. It’s fun, funny, has a twist but in classic YinWar style they will get you to cry. I personally really enjoyed it!

Really? Why don't you like it?
Yes, its not an happy ending. So many people would be disappointed about that, and I was one of them. But that doesn't mean it's a bad ending either. I also was wandering what happened to the bad guy, but at the end, he was even worse than expected. But it is what it is. The guys who have done bad choices in life finish rarely with an happy ending. They both did.You hope until the last minute that they will met again, but "Be Happy" showed us that he is really gone. Many things showed us it was gonna be a bad ending, because off all the clues around. First, the dealing with a shrine, then all the Chinese superstitions and the four Horsemans. Death is always around, so we had everything showing us that they were doomed.
But we had hope, like the characters, and its what made the story interesting. We felt the emotions: sadness, hope, love, forgiveness, understanding, lost,...
I had to watch it a second time to truly understand it, and the movie final helped putting everything together.

Yin And War did it....
I appreciate and give kudos to Yin and War for being able to get a BL series like this one produced and released. They had a specific idea in mind for the world that Jack, Joke and the other characters lived in Bangkok for this series. A world that isn't always kind, open, and supportive of their citizens, especially the ones that are very poor. Was this review helpful to you?
