Bright, sweet, and cozy story with wonderful characters
If you need a break from heavy angst and intense emotional rollercoasters, this slow-paced, breezy drama is the perfect palate cleanser. While it can feel a bit dragged at times, the overall mood is bright, sweet, and incredibly cozy. The story follows two brides who are married off on the same day. The refined and scholarly Du Bing Yan is destined for the "sickly" third son of a wealthy family, Qi Tian Lei. Meanwhile, the feisty and straightforward Li Yu Hu is set to marry General Yuan Bu Qu—a man rumored to be so fierce he caused the deaths of his two previous wives. Due to a accidental switch of their bridal veils, the girls end up with each other's grooms.
As it turns out, the "dying" Qi Tian Lei is very much alive and cunning, while the "terrifying" General is actually a romantic at heart—and surprisingly indecisive.
The girls bring color, adventure, and a fair share of headaches to the men's lives. Interestingly, it often felt like the men were the "delicate violets" who needed rescuing. This was especially prominent in the General’s arc. You’d expect a high-ranking warrior to be a man of action, but Yuan Bu Qu often ended up as the "damsel in distress"—either wounded and needing care or entirely dependent on his wife’s clever plans to navigate war and political traps.
The actors handled the script's whims beautifully. Tian Xi Wei is fantastic—she fights well, has a charming smile, and her "pouting" chemistry with her husband is hilarious. Bai Bing Ke is equally impressive, effortlessly switching between a poised lady and a clever physician’s apprentice.
Ao Rui Peng is back in his element with his signature witty smile, and he’s a joy to watch. Zhao Shun Ran perfectly portrays the poised, slightly melancholic General, and Zhan Yu is absolutely adorable as the naive Commander Sha Ping Wei. A shout-out to Quan Pei Lun, who plays the "slimy" schemer perfectly—he has a real talent for making a character look innocent while being utterly repulsive.
The drama's main drawback is its pacing. With 45-minute episodes where sometimes very little happens, it can feel stretched out. There are also quite a few plot conveniences and lapses in logic. Because the tone remains so light and "sunny," the sense of danger often disappears. Even though the plot involves murderous relatives and life-threatening imperial edicts, it never feels truly tragic or urgent. Depending on what you're looking for, this lack of stakes is either a cozy plus or a boring minus.
On the positive side, the production value is high: beautiful costumes, great fight choreography, and some truly lovely kiss scenes. It’s pure romance through and through. What started with two brides ended up with six harmonious couples! From the impulsive youth to the cunning older generation—and even a "perfectly matched" pair of villains—the romantic dynamics are the heart of the show.
Watch this for the vibes. It’s a light, romantic story that serves as an escape from both heavy plots and the mundane routine of real life. It’s sweet, it’s pretty, and it will definitely leave you with a smile. Total comfort watch.

Lighthearted, refreshing, and fun!
Wrong Carriage Right Groom is such a great, invigorating, and fun romantic comedy. The plot is full of intrigue that gives both leading couples the opportunity to showcase their strengths and their steadfastness toward each other. Although the first leading couple’s (Li Yu Hu and Qi Tian Le) storyline has an insufferable antagonist, their relationship and the ways that they support each other are really nice and refreshing to watch. The second leading couple’s (Du Bing Yan and Yuan Bu Qu) relationship, although a bit more toned down because of their roles and personalities, develops naturally and is very nice to see them work together and remain faithful to their committed love for each other. The plot also includes other interesting characters and couples that are nice and interesting to watch. The couples have great chemistry and, even though their intimate scenes are not torridly passionate, the actors did well showing their love and care for each other. Overall, this drama is a breath of fresh air set in a historical setting with very likable characters and a fun storyline. Enjoy it!Was this review helpful to you?

ALMOST great
Okay so the beginning was great. I loved it but it soon turned very draggy very fast. Like the build up of the villain for YuHu and TianLei's storyline was good but the big climax was hella weak. Also the storyline of the Princess and Pingwei was so not needed. That was a waste of time. Buqu and Bingyan were missing from way too many episodes to be still be considered as mains.I was really disappointed because it started off so good. Watch at your own risk. The acting wasn't bad tho.

Cliche but worth my time. I love it!
Ao Rui Peng and Tian Xi Wei have really great chemistry. I enjoyed their sweet scenes. The first time I watched Ruipeng is The Blood of Youth. So I am glad I came across this drama. Tian Xi Wei is so cute. They are cute together. The second couple also has good chemistry. I mean all couples in the drama are paired well.
Story wise, it's cliche but I love cliches and these type of stories. I need feel good series to entertain my introvert self. Acting wise, I also like it. The villains in the Qi Residence are on point. I love when all Qi members came together to catch the villain.
Happy ending. Happy viewer here. :)

I love Tian Xi Wei but this is my honest feedback..
*** Spoiler Alert (PERSONAL FEEDBACK)Title : Wrong Carriage, Right Groom - 2023 (Complete 24 Episodes)
Personal Rating : 7.5/10
This drama was adapted from a novel of the same name by Xi Juan, which also spawned a 2001 drama, also named “Wrong Carriage, Right Groom.”
Initially I was very excited about it since it is TIAN XI WEI.. She is adorable.. and this is the first time I watched a drama of AO RUI PENG so I was really looking forward to it.. The first few episodes for me are really great.. ❤️ It is focused on how the two brides took the wrong carriage.. then they have their own cute stories.. how the 2 couples started to know each other but after few more episodes the story was shifted to side couples.. what I mean is there are too many couples thrown in the story and the main FL and ML screen time become less.. The villains gets more screentime than the 2nd couple.. There are a lot of stories within the story itself.. and it became boring and unnecessary for me..
Overall, my personal rating is 7.5/10 since it is Romantic Comedy with Happy Ending drama. The actors and actress are great but it is kind drama that doesn’t stand out for me. It was okay – okay..

PROS:
CONS:
- certaines situations sont résolues trop facilement

A HAPPY ACCIDENT
The story follows two brides in Yangzhou who, on their wedding day, seek shelter from the rain at the same temple. Li Yuhu, a martial artist's daughter, is destined to marry a rough-around-the-edges general, while Du Bingyan, the daughter of a refined and wealthy scholar, is engaged to a cold, sickly mastermind. In the chaos of a sudden bandit attack, they accidentally grab each other’s veils and end up in each other’s carriages. Rather than fighting against their fates, they decide to embrace the situation, leading to a 'fake it till you make it' romance for both couples. What truly makes this drama stand out is the chemistry between the dual couples. Unlike many dramas where the secondary couple feels like an afterthought, both pairings here are equally captivating. For instance, Li Yuhu's loud personality contrasts humorously with Qi Tianlei's quiet, calculating intellect. Meanwhile, Du Bingyan's transformation from a sheltered lady to a resourceful camp doctor alongside General Yuan is both surprising and empowering. The drama also includes villains and family secrets; however, the 'palace intrigue' remains relatively light, ensuring the stakes are never so high that you'll lose sleep over them. It's a 'comfort watch' through and through.
Additionally, the production design is vibrant. The costumes are lush, and the cinematography beautifully captures the traditional Suzhou-style gardens, making it feel like a moving painting of the Qing Dynasty.
At 24 episodes, the series is much tighter than your average C-drama, which is commendable, but the ending can feel a bit rushed as they scramble to tie up various plot points. Moreover, if you grew up with the original from 2000, the 2023 version appears cleaner and more idol-focused, losing some of the gritty, theatrical charm of its predecessor in favor of a polished, modern aesthetic.
In conclusion, "Wrong Carriage, Right Groom" is the television equivalent of a warm cup of tea. It doesn't strive to redefine the genre or break your heart; rather, it illustrates that sometimes a wrong turn can lead you exactly where you need to be.

SHORT WITH INTRIGUES AND SWEET
This drama is just everything. I'm sad that it ended but very happy on how it ended. This is a light rom-com and just so sweet. Each of the Female Leads compliment the Male Leads. We can see how Li Yuhu was an expert in martial arts so she's smart but just impatient, but I think this is how general or men in military acted. So she suits the calm, scholarly also smart Qi Tianlei. Whereas the graceful and intelligent Du Bingyan suits the serious and brave General Yuan Buqu or Ziren. Du Bingyan also turned fearless to pursue her husband and ended up falling for him.
The first or second episode, I think they had a bit of a problem with putting the ost repeatedly and it was a bit annoying.
I'm very in love with the hair accessories/headdress of this drama just... Marvelous💖 The costumes 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
I love that they gave us the bonus couples story: the Master Liu and Madam Shu, Sha Pingwei with Princess Changping and also Yangsheng with Jintang.
It's so fun and just leave me with warm feeling when it ends.

Cute, adorable and sweet
The basic storyline reminds me of another series - Truth or Dare - where the brides got switched via the same method also. But that is about the similarity of these 2 series. For this series, Wrong Carriage, Right Groom, apparently is a "remake" of the series of the same name that was aired in 2001. You can actually see it when you browse the Cast and Crew tab and click to view the dramas / movies the Empress of this series made - she also was in the cast of the 2001 series. The 2023 version - this very series - is very cute and adorable. It has a simple, short and sweet storyline that has a very nice happily ever after. So if you are looking for a nice simple short and sweet love story, this would a good one to watch.
The 2 lead couples are great together. One serious and no nonsense while the other pair is playful and cheeky. Both couples' chemistry together is quite good, wouldn't say rocket high good but they are compatible. The entire cast and crew did a great job on this series, especially the villain. I would have to agree with some of the reviews on how the villain of this series is so highly annoying. That just means he did a great job portraying his character. ^^ The music to this series is not really to my liking, but then again, could be because all of the songs are females with abit pitchy high voices. Therefore, for me, the OST of this series is just a mere OK. Wouldn't be something that I would spend time hunting down to keep.

A light but deep drama.
Wrong Carriage, Right Groom is about two brides who got mixed up in their sedan. They face hardships and trials that were supposedly meant to be experienced by one another.Yet fate had other plans for them and gave them a better life and a perfect husband that fits each of them.
This drama shows how true love can come in unexpected ways. It may seem like a mistake at first, but eventually you realize you are already with the right person.
Being kind is always one of the virtues in life. It is shown that doing kindness can bring greater good to oneself. It may not have an instant result, but eventually the kindness you give will eventually come back to you.
I still have questions that linger in my mind about this drama. But overall, it is still a good drama. It shows that there is no such thing as a mistake in life, everything happens for a reason. Just like how the brides rode in the wrong carriage but found the right groom, life is never a mere roll of chance but a beautifully written fate.

Matches Made in Heaven
I watched this for 4 days. I enjoyed the main couple Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu here since I’m a huge fan of the actors. The title says it all, it’s a switcheroo trope where two brides get on the wrong wedding sedan but found the right grooms. The story is pretty simple and has a happy ending. This story also has multiple couples, so it’s just not focused on the main couple. The conversations between the main couple is really cute and funny. I love how the main female lead didn’t fall for Ke Shizao’s evil plans especially by breaking them up using a third party. Glad Qi Tianlei and Li Yuhu communicate well, they really are a match made in heaven. Anyway, what I don’t understand is… it’s their wedding day, so where are the parents?? How come the only one’s present are Tianlei’s Master and his side of the family? I didn’t expect much when I started this show, but it’s a pretty light romcom that’s easy to watch. It has only 24 episodes so you’ll probably finish it in a day or two.Was this review helpful to you?
