A for Effort, D for Story
Food analogy: Lukewarm milk tea with the promise of masala!The first half of the story felt very different from the Second half, almost as if two different writers wrote them independently and stitched them together without much discussion. It had good premise of being a nostalgic teenage puppy love cum timeskipped mature heartbroken re-love. I understand that these kinds of storylines are hard to pull off but the writers just gave up. There was nothing and a lot of happening at the same time. There was a very dark plot point of abuse which i felt was not resolved well which leaves a bitter taste in my mouth. Even the romance curve just goes whoosh whoosh, hot and cold, sense and no sense. Only saving grace were the leads individually. The did a great job as a stand alone but because of the plot point of the ML leaving the FL in the beginning (not a spoiler as this is in the trailer) , it just felt like the characters always had a wall inbetween them due to FL's lack of trust, Which led the chemistry to feel flat due to the lack of buildup. Overall, the actors did the best with what they Had. You can watch for the 2nd couple which was cuter for me.
Give it a watch only if you have time to kill.
This series is not exactly very bad. It just under delivered.

Emptynes and dreams
This is an easy binge, with okay characters and okay leads. The pacing is very off....Build ups turn in to air, no build up turns in to explosions. Twists here and there that are either very predictable or make very little ence and contribute 0 to the plot or charter development.Some characters are forgiven way to easily, others are just obsessed and there are so many characters in here that need to be sent to therapy or get locked up far, far away from society sp they can not hurt anyone again. And then we have the blame game gone wrong.
That said, locations are nice, second couple adorable. there are several interesting and sweet side characters that I would wanted to see more of and the main couple is full of forever love, fun and fluff but every now and then they make dessisions that just do not make any sense. At all.
They also seem to touch issues but just berley and never really get to actually deal with them.
An okay watch but not much more.

High potential story that ended up disjointed and disappointing,
OVERALL: This drama had a great overall plot arc, solid character outlines, interesting dynamics, and good chemistry, but the execution in writing/directing wasted too much of it. This left it feeling disjointed and unsatisfying. I wanted so much more from this drama.PLOT: The story sets up a sort of anti-first love trope, where two teens who had bonded over moviemaking re-unite as semi-antagonists in order to make the movie together, working through their old wounds and different dreams in the process. It also introduces two side pairings--one a set of lonely aspiring actors who find solace in one another, and another a more modern romance between two people who share a one night stand. And the 1st and 2nd leads all each have a family drama side story that plays out that shows four different types of parental relationships.
ROMANCES: The two side romances are just as interesting as the main one on paper, but the second leads, despite getting a ton of great set up at the beginning, are essentially ignored in the final third, and the third couple is insanely underdeveloped over the entire show. The second leads were my favorite actors in the drama, and there was so much more that could have been done with them for the final stretch.
The main romance explores some really interesting themes surrounding first love and if you can really recapture a pure love from your youth, but also fell flat by the end since the characters didn't actually truly grow or mature past their teenage selves, making you feel like "what was the point?" While they had decent chemistry, I didn't find myself particularly rooting for them.
EXECUTION: Some plotlines were given a lot of screentime despite having little depth, some plotlines with a lot of depth were rushed or the scenes didn't connect well or create a coherent narrative, while other plotlines were developed meticulously and with full depth. Some sequences were so beautifully shot and edited, while others dragged on or were bland and confusing. The pacing, tone, and quality were all over the place.
Overall I enjoyed it and I didn't. There were some scenes and sections that were beautiful, moving, and stuck with me, but then too much I skipped or that didn't land. I recommend it only if you have patience and don't mind a bit of an uneven execution.

A very beginner level drama with top class actors
Genuinely great cast. Love it! Hwang In youp , Lee Hye Ri , Baek Sung chul, Park Ji Young and Lee Sang Yeob. I want to say that with this cast I should've expected more from the drama. But my expectations weren't at all met.The first episode left me seriously disappointed. There was something missing in the whole drama in my opinion. Most of them had a relation to emotional depth. The second chance, reunion plot needs a lot of emotion, and is hard to get right. The first episode when the leads met, the emotional weight seen at all.
The other missing thing was enough chemistry. The characters seemed like they hadn't changed at all even though half of the scenes were trying to show that they changed after 10 years. It didn't feel like "two lovers in the past reunited again". It felt like two really good besties had a falling out and one of them met each other after a week and reconciled.
Oh, yes, the reconciling part. There was a scene where Woo Su Bin started trauma dumping as to why he didn't see her for 14 days and Ju Yi Jae says "I DON'T CARE" What! What do you mean??!!!!! I was very confused cause the reason was very concerning. Ah, I don't know.
Next, during the 4th episode I think, there was a sudden kiss. I thought that the kiss could turn the emotions around but it didn't work. Had so much hope for that part.
The romance between Chae Sang Ra and Seo In Uk had so much potentianl for a nice ending and it was so beautiful, I seriously expected more from that trope. The reason Chae Sang Ra had for the break up was seriously so dumb. I don't understand why such a nice couple was broken up because of this dumb reason.
Now for the nice parts, this drama was a very beginner level drama. The reason I have so many complaints is because I had so much hope for the chemistry and emotions between the two actors.
But I liked this drama cause of the calm flow. This is a good drama for when you don't want to watch screens too much because of school work and don't want to get absorbed in it. It's best if you just want to pass time or watch something while crocheting or something.
Overall, I'll give it a solid 8. Other than that I just wished it could have been more heart warming in a way.

Cute and Fluffy ( Easy Watch )
This drama is not doing to much storyline wise but that's also why this was a breeze to watch, it's quite simple in plot where the leads are concerned... One is a movie director and the other is aspiring to beThey are separated lovers, who later reunited and eventually started Fliming a movie together
The story tells about how their love connection got lost in the past and how it was found again in the present...
Good Chemistry!! Both First and Second Lead Couples
They are adorable to watch 🩷
Is it something I'd watch over? No!! It's just good for a one time watch and that's about it... But it's definitely worth the watch...

The constant, repetitive break-up and patch-up loop between the leads made zero sense and dragged on for 12 episodes. It honestly feels like a half-hearted project made just for the sake of churning out content.Great cast, solid music, and promising build-up, but the execution completely fell flat. thoughts on the first ep
I’d been looking forward to this drama ever since the cast was announced, so I had high expectations. Here are my thoughts on the first episode: the pacing felt very rushed—so much happened in just the first 20 minutes. It’s strange, but I kept feeling like I was watching a *drama*—obviously it is one, but every second I felt like I was watching actors perform rather than seeing a story unfold. Everything felt so comical that I couldn't get immersed in the plot, and I’m not really feeling the chemistry between the actors yet. I guess it is just the first episode, but I’ve never felt this odd watching a drama before, haha. This drama is significantly underrated. It remains perplexing to me why many viewers reacted unfavorably to the series or the lead couple. For me, this drama served as a breath of fresh air within the romantic comedy genre.I eagerly anticipated its premiere. Hwang In-yeop and Lee Hye-ri form an exceptionally attractive and compelling duo. The visual of the drama was equally enticing and a narrative centered around two directors offered a novel and refreshing concept.
This is a highly commendable drama, and the inclusion of two secondary couples alongside the primary storyline served as a substantial asset to the drama.
I genuinely enjoyed the plot, the cast's performances, the chosen locations and also chosen music. However, the ending felt overly convoluted. I sympathize with Yi-jae’s decision, as going abroad for her studies was indeed necessary, yet severing ties with Soo-bin appeared remarkably inexplicable. While I understand that she felt overwhelmed by his hyper-fixated care and complete focus on her, I generally dislike such abrupt plot twists in a finale.
Hye-ri delivered a delightfully vibrant and playful performance—an archetype in which she truly thrives. Hwang In-yeop’s portrayal was equally impressive and represented a novel direction for him. The lead pair demonstrated outstanding onscreen chemistry, embodying their respective roles to perfection.
A standout highlight of this production was the relationship between Yoo Gyeom and Oh Ha-na, portrayed by Lee Yeol-eum and Son Chae-ryeong. Their magnetic dynamic and the intensity conveyed through their subtle glances made every scene deeply captivating. I’d have greatly welcomed seeing them on screen more frequently.
As for the pairing of Sa-rang and In-wook, they possessed immense potential; regrettably, the production chose to accord them minimal screen time.
I thoroughly enjoyed the depiction of their school years, filming scenes, grow of their relationships, and every nuance in between. From start to finish, the drama maintained my complete engagement, with every narrative arc receiving thorough resolution. There is simply no reason to overlook this drama!

Looking back, I honestly have to say that I’m leaving this drama with both a smile and a tear in my eye. From the very beginning to the very end, Dream to You was absolutely perfect. I loved every single bit of it, and I already know that this drama will stay with me for a very, very long time.My male lead is played by one of my absolute favorite actors and I simply adored him in this role. 🥹 And the female lead? I loved her just as much. Their chemistry, their story and the way their relationship developed had me completely invested.
And can we talk about the couples? The second couple had something truly special about them and even though the third couple didn’t get nearly as much screen time, I still really enjoyed them. 🥹
This drama made me feel everything. There were beautiful moments, emotional moments, heartbreaking moments… it really had it all. It was such a complete, heartwarming experience and honestly felt like the perfect little package.
There are dramas you enjoy, and then there are dramas that become a memory. Dream to You is definitely the latter for me. ❤️
I’m genuinely sad that it’s over, but I’m also so grateful I got to experience this story.

ML is toxic. No matter how hard you try to whitewash him, even the actor himself said so in an interview. Everyone hates him, including the FL’s ex, because of how he treated herThis isn’t the ’90s. A phone call would’ve been nice. Maybe even a letter. But nooooooo, let’s go completely no-contact for 15 years and then bug the hell out of the FL
The FL’s problems just happened to be there so the ML could swoop in and play the hero. A very dumb hero
If I have to blame anyone, I’m blaming the director for cutting the episodes like trash and the nood writer

The Female Character is annoying and irritating, a worst GF i would say. i would find it extremely offensive and lacking boundaries when they call their Ex-boyfriend Oppa infront of their new boyfriend and the FL in this Drama letting ex bf rub her cheeks, not showing clear intentions that she's off the market is pretty annoying.I still don't understand why does she have to break up with him in the last Episode, she's selfish, immature and a Red Flag 🚩
