Looking back, I honestly have to say that I’m leaving this drama with both a smile and a tear in my eye. From the very beginning to the very end, Dream to You was absolutely perfect. I loved every single bit of it, and I already know that this drama will stay with me for a very, very long time.My male lead is played by one of my absolute favorite actors and I simply adored him in this role. 🥹 And the female lead? I loved her just as much. Their chemistry, their story and the way their relationship developed had me completely invested.
And can we talk about the couples? The second couple had something truly special about them and even though the third couple didn’t get nearly as much screen time, I still really enjoyed them. 🥹
This drama made me feel everything. There were beautiful moments, emotional moments, heartbreaking moments… it really had it all. It was such a complete, heartwarming experience and honestly felt like the perfect little package.
There are dramas you enjoy, and then there are dramas that become a memory. Dream to You is definitely the latter for me. ❤️
I’m genuinely sad that it’s over, but I’m also so grateful I got to experience this story.

A dream that came full circle
The story revolved around two high school students whose lives were shaped by their own choices or the choices of other people around them. As young people, they may be subject to their parent's decision in the case of Soo Bin or strive hard as in Yi Jae's struggle to break through in the film industry. This may be what the young generation may be facing right now.Hyeri's character, Yi Jae, may be similar to other people who had a taste of success when she was young. However, her dream to be a successful director didn't come easy. Her struggle was even highlighted when her first love, Soo Bin came into the picture after 10 years as an accomplished director. We may think Soo Bin stole her dream, since he didn't have any when he was young. Yi Jae inspired him. The question then, will Yi Jae strive to be who she wants to be or let the voices around her dictate her future?
The story gave us some complication with Soo Bin's father being abusive and possessive. The fear of exposing the truth may be the reason for his abuses. I am thankful that Soo Bin's mom was able had the courage to leave her father. Also, Ha Na's mom CEO Ahn was possessive and even dictated her every move. No matter what their pasts, Soo Bin and Ha Na learned to break free and be who they want to be.
As for Yi Jae, there is quite a transformation of character as soon as she recognizes her love for Soo Bin. She may have scars in the past, yet the moment she and Soo Bin reciprocated each other's love, she is somehow healed. Her struggles in life may be about her career, while for Soo Bin it may be his father. Yi Jae is learning to stand on her own, to embrace her true calling and support his first love.
The second leads have their own troubles, but nothing too difficult to handle. I am rooting for them to get out of the struggles with CEO Ahn and truly be free to love each other. I hope their love story won't be crushed.
The life in the spotlight is truly a difficult one. Rumors, scandals and even bad behavior affected their lives and even their own works.

Mixed bag. Some good, some bad. Overall forgettable.
First, the positives. The cinematography, framing and camera work almost feel like an MV at some points, which is actually quite refreshing, so I want to applaud the PDnim and DPnim and the entire production team for their hard work and unique style and for actually trying something different for once.As for the plot, this series is a real mixed bag. It has a lot of dramatic elements clumped together. It seems as if every sad backstory trope you can think of, the ML and FL have experienced, yet they honestly just don't seem like people with pretty tragic pasts. Some of the performances don't land, and the drama is starting to drag towards the end. I am also just getting tired of all these reunions and second-chance romance plots. Seems like every other modern drama is following this template.
As many pointed out, SML and SFL have an interesting dynamic, but their screentime is literally like 5 mins per episode (it does increase later on, but at this point I'm checked out), yet it suffers a similar fate of becoming somewhat stagnant.
Overall, just struggling to empathize with any of the characters in this series, so this is just not for me.

It was more like a nightmare to me.
Sadly, I’m dropping this one. Idk, something just feels off. I feel like I’m watching actors play characters rather than actually seeing the characters themselves. The framing often throws me off, and the editing feels a little clumsy at times. The use of AI is also WAY too obvious in some scenes, which pulls me out of the story even more. I just can’t seem to get immersed in it.I don’t really feel much emotionally either. It feels like the drama is just showing us things without actually making us feel anything, if that makes sense. Even the dialogue feels kind of hollow.
The plot is also a mess. It feels like a random pile of events being thrown at you without any real depth or development, rather than an actual story that’s being built. Everything feels disjointed, and the pacing is weird and all over the place, which makes it even harder to get invested.
I also get the feeling that the drama took some inspiration from the C-drama When I Fly Towards You, but honestly, I don’t think I’m missing much by dropping it.The only thing I really like is the color grading sometimes. It has that kinda 2016 vibe that I actually enjoy lol. But yeah, that’s pretty much it.

Nothing original in this series. Can we have a mature female lead in a kdrama for a change? I could not watch this show without constant cringing because of Hyeri's character childish traits. Is constant crying, running away screaming or hiding under the table from her boyfriend a desirable behaviors in Korea?Also did we really got another white truck accident trope in episode 3? Why do they always speed with honking without any effort to stop the car and checking if everything is okay with potential victim of a hit? So many questions...
Overall very boring drama with overused high school sweethearts trope.

Dream for us all at this point.
Starts off strong with the to-the-point approach to emotional turmoil. Does not beat around confessions, past wounds, backstory and childhood traumas - which saves a lot of confusion and back-and-forth for us all.But it falls off by the second episode in terms of quite literally everything. The acting is childish and immature, the female lead is infantalised by the plot itself; the guy has an odd way to deal with his past and emotions by disappearing for a decade and re-appear believing in immediate forgiveness, comeback AND working together on the singular thing that symbolises their vulnerable relationship, all the while stuck on a past version of the female lead, completely undoing the life the latter has made for herself after the tragedy.
The tropes are juvenile and cliched: the white truck-kun, the staring into the headlights as a car approaches blindly, the tripping and falling into arms, the drunk yelling and waking up unclothed in a strange bed, the deliberate weird situations, the forced humour. It's nearly unbearable to watch.
THE SECOND LEADS THOUGH!!!! Amazing chemistry, tropes and progression. Need more screen time for them.
The cinematography and music though remain top-notch. Hope they pick the pace and resolve this childishness.

HOT TAKE.
This drama had the potential but failed to deliver it. It was good till the midway. Idk what they did in the last 4 eps, it felt like they completely forgot the plot.This drama started really strong with FL who wanted to be the director couldn't achieve her dream, and the ML who -as he says- borrowed her dream and made it. The school time was really nice and they had the innocent and pure first love vibes. Still, I wanted the drama to show more of the yearning for her rather than the childhood moments. I think that is where the drama failed to deliver what was promised.
Him breaking up and going abroad was totally justified and acceptable. -He was young, abused and just wanted everything to stop. His father forced that choice out of him. And even though, he could've communicated properly or end things and handled everything better - it would've been better. BUT, her breaking up in the last episode was just for filling up screen time and mothing more. And she comes back and they just continue where they left of? How does that make any sense?
And also the reason my rating went soo down because I had anticipated this a lot and this was a huge letdown for me.
- I think Woo Soo Bin was written really bad. Him telling her not to pursue her dream felt so much not like his character. Whatever the 11 episode showed WSB, he would've not said JYJ to dream. That was so much out of the plot. I think it was wriiten because they just wanted him to behave that way because then they could conveniently break them up. And then a second later he is understanding and supports her decision to go. The last episode was a mess.
- then the 3rd couple? idk why there was even a plot for them. I mean, why did they break up in the first place? She felt guilty? for what? conducting a dating show? there relationship was okayish in the beginning and had some potential to be explored. but, they just- idk what happened, didn't continue there story line and ended it.
- and more importantly the ML's father. What was even happening at the end? the mother announces she is getting divorced and he just let her?? And why wasn't he reported? The ML completely forgot about his father and went easy with him. He should've been roting in the jail rather than being a doctor. I hate that the ML father was not punished for uis abuse. And I hate that he was not involved on all of the drama that happened between woo so bin, oh hana, her mother and all. They shwed that some nurses in the hospital noticed the news -but left it at that.
I actually enjoyed watching this the first few weeks and would qait for each episode to air. And then it went downhill in the second half.

wasted potential but not that bad
oh i really really wanted this to work😭 it reminded me of our beloved summer (one of my fav dramas) but it disappointed me really badthe biggest issue was definitely the last episodes. it made me furious.. first the ML and then the FL? she wanted to be “independent” but be honest, she could be “independent” because of the opportunities the ML gave her.. i support her studying about decision but..

the breakup? she broke up just for the drama cause she couldn’t even find a good reason other than that he’s just a mindful boyfriend. studying abroad would’ve avoided the “he’s helping me” situation, he couldn’t do anything work related on a distance. he would be there emotionally, but she cut him off??

i LOVED the second couple sooo much they deserved more screen time, we got nothing the last episodes..
the family drama was interesting to watch, i liked the second chance trope too! i always support the “follow your dreams” motto in dramas, we all need hope for our dreams.
it’s just that some topics were rushed and never addressed.
for the girlies who’re looking for some eye candy’s, you will enjoy your time. all three male lead were looking soo fine😮💨😮💨
it’s just really frustrated me to the point i cannot rank really high. it wasn’t the worst, but romances are really bad this year. this was lowkey one of the best, you will still enjoy the first 10ish episodes. i hope kromances can finally get a grip. i dont mind cliches but dont make me furious please… 😭
i will give it a 6.5 for the sake of the second couple.

Don't read the negative reviews and don't pay attention to the ratings, you might miss out on a great drama, personally, I enjoyed every moment (episode) The casting is perfect, the acting is perfect, the chemistry is great (not just between the main characters ), it has a little bit of everything, (haha), healing and recovery, love and disappointment, joy and sadness, (there were parts that made me cry), relationships between parents and children and vice versa, support, dreams and fulfillment, female empowerment, what goes on behind the scenes of the entertainment industry (dramas/movies) * Trigger – it also has domestic violence – I recommend it with loveWas this review helpful to you?

One of the Most Memorable Shows This Year!!
The ratings for this show plummeted halfway through, and I kept wondering about the reasons. Somehow, I still haven’t figured out why this show has received so much hatred. Initially, I wasn’t sold on Hyeri’s pairing with Hwang In Youp. I wondered if their chemistry would work. Surprisingly, it did and I thoroughly enjoyed watching this show. The show doesn’t have any grand premise, maybe that might be the reason why people were majorly disappointed with the storyline. The script depicts a simple reunion between two long-lost lovers who reunite a decade later. Their shared dream & ambitions play a major role in their reconciliation as they move forward to achieve them together. Another aspect that I loved was how closely this show documents the art of cinema. May not be the best but still a good one-time watch
The show started off good especially the first two episodes. But as the show progressed it started to feel like something is missing. The third couple was an unwanted addition to the show because nothing goes on with them instead the second couple should have been given more scenes. Misleading Rom Com
The story itself feels fundamentally flawed. While marketed as a rom com, it suddenly pivots to depicting flagrantly abusive characters. The writers introduce a wide spectrum of parenting styles—ranging from supportive and neglectful to toxic, controlling, and outright violent—yet the narrative refuses to deal honestly with the consequences of these actions. Treating such extreme characters lightly, rather than focusing on mildly dysfunctional ones like the female lead's mother, makes these subplots feel like a disappointing distraction.Additionally, casting mid-30s actors to play high schoolers in uniforms feels absurd, regardless of how intertwined the dual timelines are. Hiring actual teen actors for the flashback sequences would have made those scenes far more believable and natural.
