Well acted, entertaining, good plot twist.

As typical and predictable as a time loop concept film can be, this film is not simply following the story of Mesa, a rich girl who finds herself trapped in a time loop. This film is more than just a romantic comedy. It dives into themes of second chances and the importance of living in the present moment and even explores spiritual beliefs and the things we often overlook in life. Our life isn't always about us. And it also carries a meaningful message with its plot twist. Without giving away any spoilers, the twist adds more to the story than simply an effort to break the time loop curse.

While the storylines seem quite simple and lack proper backstory, this film has a good plot development. It's easy to follow from one story to another. Plus, the production values are top-notch. Everything from the vibrant cinematography to the overall production is crafted with meticulous attention to detail. The visuals are captivating, drawing viewers into the world of the story.

In my opinion, the highlight of this film is Toey Jarinporn's performance. Toey's portrayal of the protagonist is both funny and endearing. It's hard not to love her. On the other hand, Charlette Wasita shines in her role, impressing me with her nuanced acting. The supporting cast also performed wonderfully.

One thing that I personally like about this film compared to other Thai comedy films is that it doesn't rely on slapstick humor. Instead, it blends funny dialogue and good acting to create a light-hearted and entertaining experience. The humor is well-placed and complements the emotional layers of the story. Simple jokes yet effective.

Overall, 'Same Day With Someone' is considered an entertaining film rather than impressive. It's well-executed and well-acted, but there are still a few minor flaws, a few aspects that can be improved.

The loop to find happiness

We know the drill. You have the worst day ever. Everything goes wrong. You make the silliest mistakes or the worst choices. Feels like the universe is out to get you. Eventually, you end up reliving it all over again. Only you're not lying in bed at 2AM, scrolling through the 'worst moments of my life' highlights reel in your brain. You're literally living it. Over and over again.
We know the drill with time loops.

But what happens if the time loop is your horror movie, which somehow transitions into a rom - com, only for you to end up realising that.. your time loop is not yours to control after all?

Some Day With Someone took that exact trajectory, and has become one of my favourite time loop stories in the process. Without giving too much of the story away (it's a good story), this had everything you look for in a groundhog day feature, while also being heartfelt and grounded.

I loved that the FL, Mesa was so relatable. I loved that I could personally relate to her on so many levels. I loved that the ML, Ben was the dorkiest sweet pie ever.

The humor was understated, the romance slapped and the acting was wonderful.

I walked into this expecting a quintessential - finding true love - kind of story but this was so much more.

I hope you like this when you watch it, because I kind of want this review to have convinced you to give it a try! I kid, but seriously, give it a try :)

Good Filler While Waiting for a Drama Series to End

My rating: 7.5/10

Review

This was a solid “in-between” watch — the kind of movie you put on when you’re not ready to commit to a long, fully developed drama but still want something romantic and engaging.

It starts off pretty silly and a bit over-the-top, which made it hard to take seriously at first. However, as the story progresses, it settles into something more reflective and surprisingly thoughtful. The second half carries more emotional weight and gives the story a bit more substance than you initially expect.

That said, it still remains a very light watch overall. It doesn’t demand much from the viewer and doesn’t leave a lasting impact, but it does its job as easy, enjoyable entertainment.

For serious romance fans who are just looking for something quick while deciding what to watch next, this works well. It’s pleasant, easy to get through, and has enough charm to keep your attention.

👉 Overall:
Good as a filler
Light, easy, and mildly entertaining
Not something I would actively seek out or rewatch

⚠️ Spoilers

The museum incident was honestly a bit ridiculous. A child knocking over something that valuable would realistically have had much bigger consequences, especially for the parents. The fact that it escalated into something involving tensions between countries felt exaggerated, and tying it to something as trivial as food made it even harder to take seriously.

That said, I did appreciate the way the time loop concept was handled.

Instead of constantly trying to “fix” things like most time loop stories, the characters actually take time to enjoy the situation. They spend days just living freely, doing what they want, and making the most of the reset. That felt refreshing and helped the romance feel more natural rather than rushed.

Because they had all that extra time together, their relationship developed in a way that felt earned, even within the constraints of the story.

I also liked the twist — that the solution wasn’t about changing major events, but about paying attention to the people around her. That added a more grounded, emotional layer to the story.

Another standout was how she gradually became completely over her ex. Experiencing the same interactions repeatedly made his apologies feel more and more hollow, which was actually very realistic. That “forgive me” loses all meaning when you hear it enough times.

The one thing I really didn’t like was the separation trope at the end.

Two years apart felt completely unnecessary. It didn’t add anything meaningful and actually weakened the emotional payoff. Realistically, most relationships wouldn’t survive that kind of gap, and it just felt like forced drama for the sake of it.

Life on the surface may not be all what it appears.

"Sameday with Someone" was a good sleeper find, much like the Hindi movie "Dhoom Dhaam" was . "Sameday" works, mostly due to the performance of Toey Jarinporn Joonkiat. Even though her acting career has spanned over a decade, this was my first look at her work. That's not a knock against her. The majority of my watch listed here has been Korean Based.

Getting to the point spoiler free- "Sameday with Someone" was a fun watch. Maybe a litte jagged as to where it was heading at the beggining, but when it became clear, it all made sense. I laughed out loud many times as the main character navigated her way through a time loop. The story wasn't intense but it was enough to entertain for 2 hours. Joonkiat really is the glue that binds it all together.
If your open to a fantasy type element, with 2 hours open for a little comedic change from other genres, I recommend "Sameday with Someone"

Female lead's character is selfish & mean & doesn't improve upon knowing her more

It started out entertaining & then went down hill. The female lead's character is self serving, even as she enters into a romance. She "runs Rough shod" over everyone in her path to her goal. I'm honestly tired or female character's like the one in this drama. It's not even worth more words to describe.
