Honest opinion

First things first, this is going to be a hard review for me. I will be honest that I have a hard time separating my opinion as someone who read the novel, especially that TSFAS is my favorite BL novel.
Watching it was very special to me. To see Arthit and Daotok not just in my imagination but literally as real people. Them choosing Ngern and Oat to do this is the best part. They were able to portray ThitDao well. And of course, we also got the best person for Direk — Jab. Other cast also did a good job, especially our Mae Min. I think my only negative take with the casting was Dao’s two fathers. I can’t see the chemistry and the actors’ connection with the characters.
As I said, it’s hard for me not to compare it to the novel, but I still believe that they were able to make it a good series. The story is still there. They were still able to make me cry with DoMin and the hidden sadness of Arthit.
But one thing I really noticed were those small things that were not included in the series. For others, it might be small, but those were what ThitDao was made of. Those small details that show Arthit’s gentleness and vulnerability. That show why Dao is Dao. The little moments that show how genuine and magical their love is. I love the Arthit that I saw in the series, but he was not the Arthit I fell in love with while reading the book. It’s missing some small elements, but then again, those small things are the reason why I love Arthit and Daotok so much.
Overall, I still appreciate the series for what it gave and how it brought the story to life. It may not be exactly how I imagined it, but it still holds a special place in my heart. And maybe that’s okay, because some stories are just meant to feel different when they leave the pages and become real.

NgernOat is Gonna be an Official Pair Right? RIGHT!!

Omg where to begin I LOVED this storyline!! I was skeptical at first with the ghosts and that whole storyline lol but it was fine. I am big on chemistry and boy did Arthit an Dao deliver SOULMATES!!

This couple is coming real close to my love of Jo and North in this universe. I wish we had more timeeee, give me a full at least 12 ep season with them please!!! 8 ep was not enough, all I can hope is we get more of them in the next part of this season.

I absolute loved Arthit and Ngern freaking crushed this role!! The slowly falling in love to being absolutely obsessed with Dao, ugh I ate that upppp. Black cat/ golden retriever is my absolute favourite and that is Arthit and Dao. I want to rewatch this over and over again, I need a special episode, I just need MORE. I wanted to give this a 9 so bad cause I truly truly loved it so much but my only qualms were I wasn't super into the solving the ghost murder lol and I love you Oat but the English with his dad was just too cringe...

Still highly recommend and I will be rewatching, this was so good I’m so sad it's over!!

They really did shine like a star

Unexpectedly awesome. At first, I wasn’t sold on the supernatural element since it was such a major shift from what we’ve seen in the franchise before. However, once I started watching, the show blended fun and drama at its core. I’m always a fan of stories where a living person helps solve a ghost’s death, especially when it’s done right, and here, it truly works.

One of the series' biggest emotional highlights is the heartbreaking story of Do and Meen. A man who died in Dao’s condo, with his girlfriend falsely accused of his murder. The pacing and the gradual buildup of tension were handled really well. This storyline also lays the foundation for Arthit’s deep emotional arc, particularly his grief over losing his mother.

Personally, Arthit’s character was the biggest standout of the entire franchise. He completely owns this sequel, alongside Dao. I love their contrasting personalities. It makes their dynamic even more engaging. I also kept falling for Ngern throughout the show. He’s seriously H.O.T. The tattoos, the muscles, the rugged masculinity; it’s all very striking. But beyond that, his acting performance is consistently strong, which makes his character even more appealing.

What really works for the main couple is how honest and straightforward they are about their feelings. It’s refreshing to see a “dog-and-cat” dynamic that avoids unnecessary cliches and instead focuses on emotional clarity. I also loved every scene shared between Arthit and Direk. Their father-son bond brought such feel-good moments to the series.

Overall, it’s a cleverly written show with a strong cast. I genuinely enjoyed watching it. While there are occasional plot holes here and there, they’re not enough to take away from the experience. In the end, I’m just happy I got to feel the warmth of Arthit and Dao’s sun-and-star story.

Honestly i thought I'm not gonna obsessed with arthitdao story but Arghhhh I need special episode or part 3, I really love their story and I'm gonna miss them, especially the whole gang.. How i am supposed to live without my babies 🥺😥 Please Wabisabi hear us! We need special episode of arthitdao and I'm looking forward for Ngern and Oat to become fixed partner although they are from different companies, but who knows, right? MaxkyBass aren't on the same companies too, but, now they are fixed partner and have a new series already filming.. I hope in another series our doctor gang and our babies gang work together again! I will miss them so much 🥺❤ Especially my arthitdao ☀⭐

a story that is deeper than it seems

This series honestly feels like a quiet ache in the best way possible. The Sun from Another Star takes a supernatural concept -talking to spirits - and turns it into something deeply human. At its core, it’s not about ghosts at all, but about grief, healing, and unexpectedly falling in love while trying to hold on to the past.

The story follows Daotok, an artistic and introverted boy who can communicate with spirits, and Arthit, his neighbor who pulls him into a search for his late mother’s soul. What starts off as something almost forced slowly becomes something much softer - and much deeper. The more they chase after the story of Arthit's mom, the more their connection to each other grows, and that emotional shift is what makes the series stand out.

Daotok is such a refreshing character. He’s quiet, observant, and carries this constant sense of isolation because of his ability. He doesn’t open up easily, but you can feel everything he’s going through in the smallest moments. There’s a gentleness to him that makes his character really compelling, especially as he slowly lets Arthit into his world.

Arthit, on the other hand, is more intense and driven. His grief is what fuels the story, and while that makes him come off as pushy at the beginning - especially in the way he drags Daotok into helping him - it also makes him very real. He’s not perfect, but that’s the point. As the series goes on, you see him soften, and his emotional dependence on Daotok becomes one of the most important parts of the story.

Their chemistry is where the show really shines. It’s a true slow burn - nothing rushed, nothing exaggerated. Their relationship builds through shared experiences, quiet conversations, and moments of vulnerability. The tension at the beginning slowly fades into understanding, and eventually into something that feels safe and genuine. It’s not loud or overly dramatic, but it hits harder because of how natural it feels.

The atmosphere of the series is soft and slightly melancholic, almost dreamlike at times. It doesn’t rely on big dramatic twists or intense action, which can either be a strength or a weakness depending on what you’re looking for. On one hand, it allows the characters and emotions to take center stage. On the other, the pacing can feel a bit too slow in certain parts, and the plot itself isn’t very intense.

The supernatural element is interesting, but it’s not explored as deeply as it could’ve been. It feels more like a tool to reflect the characters’ emotions rather than a fully developed system. Similarly, while the side characters do their job in supporting the story, some of them could’ve been given more depth.

Overall, The Sun from Another Star is a soft, emotional, character-driven series that lingers with you. It’s not about big moments - it’s about small ones. It’s about learning to let go, finding comfort in someone else, and realizing that even in the middle of loss, something new can grow.

It’s not perfect, but if you’re into slow-burn romance with emotional depth and a slightly haunting atmosphere, this one is definitely worth watching.

Perfection On and Off Screen: A Definite

If there is one boys' love series that completely steals your heart and refuses to let go, it is The Sun from Another Star. Serving as a standalone arc within the Fourever You universe, this drama centers on Daotok (an artistic student who can see spirits) and Arthit (a protective medical student). For fans who have been following this franchise, this specific installment elevates the entire project. It delivers a romance so breathtakingly pure, deep, and mesmerizing that it easily becomes the crown jewel of the seriesThe absolute best part of The Sun from Another Star is its main couple, played by the incredibly talented Ngern Anupart Luangsodsai (Arthit) and Oat Tharathon Phumphothingam (Daotok). They are, without a single doubt, the absolute best and most captivating pairing in the entire main franchise. Their chemistry on screen is nothing short of magical. The way their relationship develops is beautifully written, shifting from reluctant neighbors to souls that truly heal each other. Every glance, every smile, and every emotional conversation feels so natural and heavy with affection that it genuinely makes your heart swell. What makes falling in love with this couple so effortless is that their beautiful dynamic is not just limited to the show. The genuine bond, comfort, and undeniable connection that Ngern and Oat share off-screen during promotions, interviews, and behind-the-scenes content makes watching them even more rewarding. You can easily tell that they possess a deep mutual respect and real friendship in real life. This authenticity translates directly into their acting, giving their characters a raw, unpolished vulnerability that sets them apart from typical BL pairings.Without hesitation, The Sun from Another Star gets a perfect 10/10. It is a magnificent, emotionally resonant masterpiece that gives viewers exactly what they want: an unforgettable love story led by an absolute dream of a couple. If you want to witness a romance that is beautiful in every single aspect, both in the script and behind the scenes, this is the ultimate pairing to watch.

I just needed one more episode

As part of Fourever You Project Part 2, this was the story that felt the most different to me, mainly because of the supernatural element, which gave it a slightly heavier and more emotional tone. I really liked the contrast between Arthit and Dao, one so chaotic, loud, and full of life, the other quiet, gentle, and carrying something more introspective. Their dynamic worked naturally, and I enjoyed watching how their connection slowly took shape without forcing big moments. At the same time, I can’t help but feel like it ended too quickly. Everything wrapped up in a way that felt a bit rushed, especially considering the emotional potential of the story. I kept thinking that just one more episode would have made a huge difference, to give more space to their relationship and let certain moments breathe. Even with that, I still enjoyed it a lot, and I really hope we get to see more of them in the future, because it feels like there’s still something left to explore.

smooth love story, first 2-3episode is little bit boring(but i continue because i was watching Fourever you from season one), the ghost were annoying and the way dao left Arthi to sleep in bathroom and that to with ghost but it was fun/funny then the case and next dao helping Arthi the cute moments it was getting interesting and the hospital scene at last is also cute and the next is another 😝(no spoilers) iykyk.
It is definitely a rewatch material, the banger between dao and Arthi so cute

It was everything I wanted it to be!

I loved how different each arc of this series has been.
Ter and North felt more playful, and then Phoon’s arc veered into emotional darkness, and now we get the paranormal side from Arthit and Dao, and yet the entire series still feels like a whole because of these great actors portraying those roles.

Just like I felt with the novel, I didn’t enjoy Arthit that much for a good third of the way, but then when the charm started, oh, I loved his character and how he loved Dao out in the open with no reservations. And it was the same for the tv show. They played so close to the novel, that it made me wish there was more episodes because there was so much left out (understandably) but what we got was brilliantly acted by our leading men!

The actor who played Direk was the absolute right person to play that role, he’s always my favorite Thai father in every show he’s been in.

The show excelled in every area, with each character contributing significantly, and I will miss both groups of young men. Ahhhh, what a fantastic show, I already feel lost knowing there’s no new episode from our favorite Four Ever You gang. It’s definitely a rewatch drama for all those heart fluttery feelings!

Good story and acting

Honesty it was very easy to enjoy this drama and root for the characters, it had a unique plot with the ghosts that somewhat played a role in the show, it was generally used to provide a reason for the characters to get close but didn't really impact the story after the conflict was resolved, but was interesting and entertaining nonetheless, the acting was good and the romance was cute as well, overall a good watch and would recommend it. I can't say much about the music as I'm not someone who pays attention to it very often, I usually stick to the story, dialogue, and acting but from from what I could tell, the music worked with the dialogue to guide the emotions of the viewer and didn't feel out of place.

THE SUN FROM ANOTHER STAR..

the series is really great, the storyline is amazing, casting is superb
oat and ngern were made for this series
I can watch this series for 1000 times
but there is only one thing that I didn't like , The song. the song arthit wrote for dao it was noooottttt goooddd at alllll I mean yeah the lyrics were amazing but his english accent was weird
i really loved that series but it doesn't mean I have to like the music too
if the song was written in thai it would have probably sounded well
but whenever that song was playing I just had to skip the scene or i had to watch it in 2x speed
overall a realllyyy amazing series and probably a must watch series with a great storyline
kinda horror plus romantic plus funny series
the nc scenes were pretty natural
the chemistry between the actors was awesome
i would have rated it 10/10 but I'm rating 9.5/10 just because of the song.
