Awesome show
I got into this show with zero expectations. I had never seen the actresses before and was honestly expecting not much, but I could not have been more wrong. The acting is outstanding, with both Aok and Rin conveying emotions in a realistic, natural manner, and the slow burn builds as Aok slowly accepts Rin. The one thing I absolutely did not expect from this show that truly made it exceptional was the soundtrack; it was masterfully crafted to convey and exemplify the scenes, and it is so beautiful, honestly. Gold medal to whoever made the soundtrack for this show. I am enjoying this show and am happily awaiting every Thursday so I can watch the upcoming episodes. Was this review helpful to you?
A MUST WATCH--THE STANDARD
Whether you're new to Thai GL, not like the Genre of rom-coms, or an go GL watcher, this series is a MUST watch. I swear on my life. This Thai GL rewired my expectations of Thai GLS to whole new level. I blabber a lot, but this is something I stand on. And I don't play when it comes to Thai GLS.First off, the plot. I usually do like drama in what I watch, but I loved the storyline a lot. I loved the dynamic between the two characters, and there are rarely any conflict. I highly recommend to those who love rom-coms, office setting typa stuff. But like the pacing felt a bit off honestly, but so many factors enhance the show, so I could care less.
Another thing--the cast. I feel like this could have never been pulled off without the right actors, I am very VERY Thankful for the people who casted THE Kao and THE Janeyeh. I have watched their previous projects prior and they are amazing. They have lots experience in acting, so it is obvious how good the show turns out. The Chemistry is also there, I can feel it through the screen. I also feel like they are really similar to their characters in real life, which makes the acting feel natural. ITS THE EYES GUYSSS, the eyes be doing their job.
The music in this show is absolutely insane. The instrumental music in the background just fits right for every moment. It just heightens the moment and makes it feel nostalgic. The music itself is what made this series deserve a 10. Most of em are in my Spotify playlist 😂
I hate how this is so rewatchable because I can't stop coming back to this show. THANK YOU VELCURVE STUDIO I LOVE YOU

Didn’t work for me
Honestly, Love Design just didn’t work for me at all. I really tried to get into it, but the story felt messy and kind of all over the place. It didn’t feel well thought out, and a lot of the plot points were either predictable or just didn’t make much sense. The pacing was also off some parts felt rushed while others dragged, which made it hard to stay interested. I kept waiting for it to get better or for something to really pull me in, but it never really happened. The acting didn’t help either. It felt flat and not very convincing, and I just couldn’t connect with the characters. The emotional scenes especially didn’t hit they felt forced instead of natural, so it was hard to care about what the characters were going through. Even the chemistry between the leads felt lacking, which is a big deal for this kind of show. Without that connection, the whole story just falls apart a bit.And honestly, I’m someone who always tries to support GL series I almost never rate one below a 7.5 because I want to support the genre and help it grow. But this is one of those rare cases where it just didn’t deliver. For me, it was disappointing enough that I’d worry it might even turn people away from the GL category if this was their first impression.
Overall, everything from the story to the acting to the chemistry felt off for me. It had potential, but it just didn’t deliver, and I ended up feeling disappointed.

sugar overload in a fantasy workplace setting where everyone is unnaturally nice
To think that of all things I'll binge watch Thai GL shows. I guess this is the consequence of having discovered that in the 8epi GL format they barely have time for the usual lakorn crap & not having anything else lined up to watch. The plot does not amaze, I'm especially annoyed how they dealt with second FL in the final episode. I dislike the social media confession trope quite a bit, it's bad even compared to other common redemption ark varieties.
Anyway despite not having amazing storytelling the drama is a lot of fun to watch. The FLs (xD) have great chemistry & their bickering is endless fun. The love triangle is bearable, yes the second (or 3rd xD) FL would be incredible annoying in any other format, but thanks to the short runtime she barely had any screen time or chances to annoy us. So I guess I can forgive the show the 3-way hand grab moment it had that one one time.
~ I wrote this review without watching the special episodes.
---
I found it interesting that the production team used artificial intelligence to generate some video footage for at least one video presentation to showcase their concept.
edit: Watched the 2 special episodes. The first one is about closure for the main couple & its a decent extended fluffy happy ending for them, the second on the other hand is about the Tetris couple, but practically it feels like it's all for showing us embedded marketing, still as far as special episodes go these were okay.

Almost didn’t write this
I almost didn’t write this review because my opinion seems to differ so much from the majority on this platform that I genuinely started questioning my own viewing experience. When everyone is calling something amazing and you’re sitting there thinking “...did we watch the same show?”, it’s a strange place to be.
But here we are.
Let me preface this by saying: I was really looking forward to Love Design. I wanted a smart, well-written, well-acted Thai GL. I loved Jane in The Gifted and Kao in Hormones, so my expectations were naturally high. And all of that wrapped in architecture and design aesthetics? Chef’s kiss. It felt like it had everything going for it.
The Good
First — the production.
The show is beautiful. Truly.
Great sets, gorgeous framing, thoughtful composition. Every scene looks curated. The design world felt immersive and polished. If visuals alone carried a series, this would be near the top.
I also appreciated that (aside from Tee) there were no real villains. No heavy homophobia. The stakes were generally low. It was refreshing to see a GL that didn’t rely on trauma or external hatred to move the plot forward.
The red string arc was also handled fairly well. It unfolded naturally and had emotional logic. That storyline, at least, felt cohesive and intentional.
The Not-So-Great
This is where my experience diverges from most reviews.
I was genuinely surprised by how off the acting felt at times.
Jane tends to overact whenever scenes become intimate — the performance suddenly feels heightened in a way that pulls you out instead of drawing you in. Kao, on the other hand, has this “deer caught in headlights with flared nostrils” expression whenever things turn dramatic or tense. It becomes repetitive. And unfortunately, both of them were easily upstaged by Yam (playing Mind), who brought a level of naturalism and control that the others didn’t consistently match.
Which leads to chemistry.
I was told repeatedly that JaneKao’s chemistry was one of the show’s biggest selling points. I kept waiting for it. Looking for it. Trying to feel it. What I found — at best — was friendship.
Meanwhile, Mind and Aokbab actually had strong chemistry. And honestly, that was mostly due to Yam’s performance anchoring those scenes. There were moments where I genuinely thought they were going to be endgame.
Part of the issue may stem from how underdeveloped Rin is as a character. She starts as an annoying brat with very few redeeming qualities (aside from potential talent) and ends… as an annoying brat who happens to love Aokbab. The growth felt minimal. So when Aokbab tells Rin she loves her for the first time, my honest internal reaction was: “Really? When did this happen?” I never felt that progression emotionally.
The side couple unfortunately left almost no impression. To the point that I’ll probably forget they existed in a month.
And the on-screen animations/graphics? Distracting. They didn’t enhance the humor or deepen the story.
By the final episode, I found myself forcing my way through it. That’s never a good sign. I wasn’t angry. I wasn’t even frustrated. I was just… not invested.
Final Thoughts
It’s a shame, because the potential was enormous. The aesthetic foundation was there. The premise was strong. The casting looked promising on paper.
Maybe this just wasn’t for me. But I genuinely hope we get stronger, sharper, better-written Thai GL romcoms in the future.
I really wanted to love this.
I just didn’t.

Best GL Series EVER!
Love Design! It's really underrated, but it's a great GL series of this year (AND EVER). There are many great actresses and actors in this series, like Kao Supassara (Hormones The Series; former Nadia Bangkok and CH3 actress), Janeyeh (Mad Unicorn; former GMMTV actress) and Yam Matira (former CH3 actress). This series has very beautiful pictures and a very reasonable plot. It's a rom-com that's cute and sweet. It's a good way to relieve stress. All the actresses and actors gave good performances. I would like to give it the title of the best GL series of the year for this year. Was this review helpful to you?

This just gets better and better. The story, directing, pacing, sound, casting, location are all on a whole new level... The creators should be proud.
For the past few weeks I have been eagerly waiting for the next week for this show to air.
This is so good that I will be getting a blu-ray version of this for sure after its available.
