watched it and now I can't shut up about it

Love Design isn’t a show designed to shock you with big twists or mind-blowing plots. It’s simple, soft, and familiar on the surface, the kind of story you might think you’ve seen before. But somehow, without trying to be loud or flashy, it slowly wrapped itself around my heart and became my favorite GL. From the very beginning, it felt like slipping into a world that was warm and strangely familiar. Aokbab and Rin’s chemistry never felt performed; it felt lived-in. Their banter has this natural flow, the kind of teasing and back-and-forth you only see between people who genuinely click. There were moments I had to pause because their interactions felt so sincere that it almost felt like I was watching two real people fall in love.

One thing I truly loved was how the show handled Aokbab finding her passion again. She didn’t heal because Rin “saved” her she healed because Rin inspired her. Watching Rin draw with so much love and dedication reminded Aokbab of the part of herself she thought she’d lost. There’s something beautiful about the irony of that: the thing that once hurt her became the thing that brought her back to life, simply because she saw someone care about it in a genuine, joyful way. Rin didn’t force her to heal; she made her remember why she ever loved creating in the first place. Another thing that stood out to me was how well Aokbab and Rin were written. Aokbab’s reactions to her trauma felt so human, quiet, cautious, and never exaggerated and Rin’s character balanced her perfectly. Rin may start off as this teasing little menace, but the way she knows when to be sincere, when to soften, and when to make Aokbab feel safe shows how thoughtfully her character was crafted. Together, the way they’re written feels honest and grounded in a way that makes their relationship feel naturally real.

Of course, even with all my love for this show, there are things worth mentioning. The storyline with her ex leans into a dynamic that feels uncomfortably close to a predatory situation, especially considering the age gap and power imbalance. The show acknowledges it, but it doesn’t dig into how frightening or damaging that experience could’ve been. It’s something that deserved a bit more emotional space, and honestly, it’s a topic the thai gl community should talk about more openly. I also found myself wishing we got to understand Rin a little more!! her past, her reasons, the things she carries. I know Love Design literally means “Love Aokbab,” so the story naturally centers on her, but a bit more depth for Rin would’ve made their relationship even richer.

Despite everything, the soft moments, the heavy moments, the things it got right, and the things it could’ve explored more. Love Design is the kind of show that stays with you. It’s gentle, sincere, and full of heart in a way that feels rare. It doesn’t need to be flashy or perfect to leave an impact; it just needed to be honest. AND IT WAS. Through its characters, its warmth, its quiet storytelling, and the way Kao and Jane embodied Aokbab and Rin, the show becomes something that lingers. It’s the kind of story that reminds you how love can be simple, healing, slow, and safe — and how sometimes those are the stories that cling to you the longest.

So I truly hope you give it a chance — it’s a gentle little story that finds its way to your heart before you even notice. 💗

A Love Letter to this GL

I’m not here to give a critical review of this series. When it comes to GL, even its flaws and imperfections turn into something lovely and magical for me. I have to pour my heart out for this series. Some GLs capture my heart so deeply that I can't just sit around and wonder about them. I need to express my emotions, my love, the fluttering butterflies in my heart through ink. And this GL is one of those that has secured a precious place in my palace.

One thing that always happens to me is when I see Rin and Aokbab's lovey-dovey moments—my heart doesn’t just skip a beat, my body literally jumps from the chair. This is my ROMAN EMPIRE, this GL. Thank you for making my life colorful, even on bad days. And I must say, the cinematography is out of this world.

Love design felt like a k drama

Kao and jane chemistry is truly melting, (11/10 for the romance sequence)every episode has clear character development and story depth, more to mention detailing the architect works and small doodles appearing when they react it's actually funny and worked well..especially the scenes in Kitakyushu, japan. As I am architecture student really enjoyed the whole series.. kudos to the crew who created this adorable series. Happie to see a happy ending and get a spl episode of their marriage portions. (Love design) cinematography and screenplay stands out from all the thai gls... I wish this one gets its recognition like poisonous love and dangerous queen.❤️❤️❤️❤️

Turns out, architecture is cool

I really enjoy this series, especially because of the dynamic between Rin and Aokbab, which is absolutely hilarious. About 70% of their interactions are arguments, but you can clearly feel the attraction they have for each other.

I also like the pacing of the series: you can see that even though Aokbab is angry at Mind, she still cares deeply about her. It’s understandable, because even if it’s not explicitly stated, it’s easy to guess that Mind was her first love. You can also see Aokbab’s attraction to Rin, which she keeps pushing away out of fear and uncertainty and that makes her feel very real.

As for Rin, she’s the funniest and most relatable character. I loved how Jane portrayed her; Rin brings a refreshing and entertaining energy to the show.

I do wish the second couple had been developed more, because their relationship had real potential and both characters were fun to watch.
Rin and Aokbab’s relationship, on the other hand, is written in such a touching way that it actually makes you want to fall in love. Their dialogues are memorable, their connection is gentle, and I love how “down bad” Rin is for Aokbab.

I also wish Mind had been portrayed as a bit meaner, because in reality, she isn’t mean at all she just communicates very poorly.

Overall, I recommend this series for its strong dialogue and lovable characters.

A Must Watch GL

With the huge boom in GLs this year, I know it can be hard to pick and choose which series are worth to watch but trust me when I say that Love Design is a must watch for everyone.

I was already excited for this series when the pilot dropped because Jane has been one of my favorite actresses for a while and I've always wanted a GL and I've heard about Kao for a while as someone who watches a lot of Thai series. I didn't know what to expect when it came to their chemistry but they did not disappoint whatsoever. They are so natural together.

Positives: I loved the editing of the series that gave it such a different feeling that I can't even explain. The fact that we didn't have to deal with homophobic parents was also great because it can get tiring seeing that same homophobic parent storyline over and over as queer people watching and dealing with that in real life.

Negatives: I didn't care whatsoever about the side couple tbh and think the series could have done without them, nothing against the actresses who played them though. And I feel like the pacing in the last couple episodes could have been better.

Overall, one of my favorite series released this year.

Amazing

Please watch this series, I can’t stress how amazing and well-thought out it is. This is just…a masterpiece in every way. The story, the execution, the music—it’s all amazing.
This will definitely be one of the series I rewatch to feel happy or inspired because of how beautifully shot it is. This is a case where the background music doesn’t try to overwhelm you, but instead complements the story that’s being told. I found myself adoring and relating with both the FLs. It’s a very touching show that doesn’t try to be too funny, too serious, too mushy, or too artsy. It is simply what it is, and it feels so raw and heartfelt that I can’t stop applauding the production team and actors/actresses involved. Stunning work.

the characters aren't developed enough for the romance

to me this series was very weak and surface level. it felt like something that was thrown in last minute for jane and kao to act together.
both of our main characters are one dimensional and don't have much depth to them, so the cute stuff doesn't hit for me. at one point the they both ask each other why/what they love abt each other and both of them don't give solid answers, that itself shows how much the writers didn't develop the characters. Aokbab has this trauma with mind but it doesn't seem to affect her relationship with rin at all. won't someone who was betrayed in that way be wary of entering into a relationship with someone from the same field? they could have had depth there but instead we played a will she or won't she game for few episodes.
also rin being this highly demand designer without working in any company was ridiculous and to add to that we never see much depth abt her work and passion. like both of our leads are great architects but we never seem to connect them with it. Aokbab also gave into all of rin's demands so early on....like give it some time, make her like rin and then show us her doing everything to please her. i never understood at what point aokbab starts to like rin.
a good amount of this show is rin and aokbab being the cutest couple but that really doesn't mean anything without a solid story.

jane and kao were great and their chemistry was amazing but that's a given. hoping to see them in more solid works in the future.

the music wise lowkey got me hooked in this series, it sounds like im playing the sims and i am making all of my characters live up my yuri dream.
mind had a generational fumble my gosh but i am glad she redempted herself at the end of the story.

KAO AND JANE CHEMISTRY WAS ONE OF THE BEST, PLEASEEEEE GIVE ME MORE KAOJANE SERIES, SPINOFFS, OR ANYTHING I WILL ACCEPT CRUMBS. PERIODDDDDD

This Should Be the Standard

I made an account here because of this show. I've gone through a handful of Thai GL series and so far it's been okay. Most of them were carried by the main actresses' chemistry and acting and I've always been left wanting for a tighter script (character development, logical and intelligent writing, no or at least minimal plot holes, etc.) and a story told well. I was pleasantly surprised that this underrated series was the one to give me what I needed (freakin' finally!). The reviews made here by Aaku, IMTHETA, Sharmadan, samwoke, lordmark87, 13243736, inmyrare, and razeee perfectly describe my feedback and my feelings about this show and the team behind it (lol you all just said what I was thinking beautifully so I'm just gonna credit your reviews). I wish more people see this series so the producers know that aside from the beautiful visuals, great acting and carefully thought of production, audiences appreciate works with great direction and well paced storytelling. Make more of this quality please! Well done everyone who worked on this show!

cozy love designed by women who care & understand one another

The plot was solid and had me interested, even though it reminded me of the common trope where another company steals ideas. The side characters were also lovable and I loved the snippets where we got to see the side characters be happy. I would have never forgave Mind for what she did, but I would be proud of her improvement and taking action on becoming a better person. I liked how it touched on themes about corruption in corporations because it is currently happening. The chemistry was chefs kiss and had me giggling so badly to the point where I wanted to be in my own relationship with another girl. I want to be able to design my own love story with another person someday like they did. <3

I Didn’t Expect Much… But Love Design Stole My Heart!

I didn’t expect much when I started Love Design, but wow… it completely won me over.
The chemistry between Kao and Jane is so natural — their slow-burn from 'enemies' to lovers felt real and full of heart. Every scene looks beautiful (those Japan scenes!!), and the story treats their relationship with genuine care.

It’s emotional, warm, and beautifully made. The kind of series that reminds you why you fell in love with GL dramas in the first place.

The GL Series You Need to Watch ASAP

This GL series honestly surprised me in the best way. I’ve watched a lot of GL shows, but this one really stood out. The chemistry feels so natural, the storyline is warm and emotional, and it actually gave me real butterflies. It’s the kind of series you finish and immediately want to rewatch. I truly hope P’Mind and Aokbab get another project together because their pairing is unforgettable
