I don’t get why people are giving low rating
I’ve seen a lot of recent reviews rating this below 5/10, and I understand why. The story does have quite a few plot holes. That said, I wouldn’t call it bad, but it’s definitely not perfect either. The first episode is actually really strong. It has a great hook and grabs your attention quickly. I usually get bored easily, but this kept me interested all the way until the end.
However, the story can be confusing, especially if you’re not used to multiverse-type plots. It requires a bit more focus to fully understand what’s going on.
As for the ending, it feels like it could be expanded more, possibly setting things up better for a second season.

Kepercayaan budaya Korea masih kental mengenai per-dukunan, tapi menurutku yaa nyambung2 aja siih dg dimana kepercayaannya.
Kalo ga kamu yg berhentiin, maka ga berhenti.
Kalo ga berhenti di kamu, terus di siapa lagi?
Aahhh! pokoknya aku seneng bangettt nemuin dan namatin series ini. Kayaknya kutukannya bisa digali lagi, season 2 juseyooo 🙏🏻

Ah! Logic left the wish App
My gosh, where do I even begin the first episodes got me hooked and then I wanted to know the story behind the original two friends and what led to this but the. In a nutshell it’s all because a girl was ashamed of her shaman mother and then . I’m not even sure if I even got the reason right…The timelines I was so confused with the timelines 2005 or they meant 2025??? In 2005 they had touch screen phones? 2008 instagram and all that or maybe the translation was just wrong ???
The story was all over the place why did the shaman daughter keep haunting people ? Was she just rotten to the core?
Main leads!!! Se Ah kept pissing me off told not to look back looks, told not to open the door opens… she’s known her lady friend NA ri is not okay tries to act like the hero and all this incidents are so detrimental that it leads to people actually really getting hurt but anyway without all these the plot would have ended on the 5th episode. But there are so many mini series that are 4 episodes so that’s still no excuse, it’s the year 2026 and we still have such brain rot ?
Nari storyline still didn’t make sense to me one of the wth is her problem her purpose like she didn’t have depth really… I actually loved the shamans in the show not many screen time but they really did awesome in their roles
Well after the first wishes were made it’s like that storyline was thrown out and if it was how the whole story was woven was just … so many plot holes.
The good thing is they are young actors known for mostly supporting roles apart from NA RI she’s had a main role before … they did well solid acting from them ..
the moral story of how human beings take different routes based on their circumstances and emotions . How being led with emotions from a dark place can not only affect you but people around you was well done .
Well first time I didn’t hear nice OSTs or maybe they were not memorable but most horrors don’t have but all in all it wasn’t the best of Korean horror I’ve seen but ….

Adrenaline Rush every Ep
⭐ 8.5/10I honestly didn’t expect “If Wishes Could Kill” to pull me in this much, but once the story starts unfolding, it becomes really hard to stop watching. The whole idea of a wish-granting app sounds exciting at first, but the drama slowly turns it into something disturbing and emotionally intense. Every wish comes with consequences, and that constant tension keeps you hooked.
One thing this drama does really well is the atmosphere. There’s always this uneasy feeling in every episode, like something terrible is about to happen. The countdown app, the psychological pressure, and the way the characters slowly lose themselves make the story feel darker and darker as it progresses. Hyeong Uk was definitely the standout character for me. His emotional scenes felt raw and believable, and watching his downfall was honestly painful in the best way.
I also liked how unpredictable the drama was. Just when you think things can’t get worse, the story somehow becomes even more chaotic. Some scenes were genuinely shocking, while others were emotionally heavy enough to stay in my mind long after finishing the episode. The background music and cinematography matched the mood perfectly and made the suspense feel even stronger.
That said, the drama does have a few flaws. The pacing slows down a bit in the middle episodes, and a few side characters deserved more development. There were also moments where certain character decisions felt frustrating or unrealistic. But personally, those issues didn’t ruin the experience for me because the main story and emotional impact were strong enough to carry the drama.

Lesson: Nobody is truly known until their mask comes off
I just completed If Wishes Were Killed and honestly… this drama frustrated me, stressed me out, shocked me, and still managed to keep me hooked till the end. Overall, it was actually a really good show, especially because of the acting. Every actor did their role so well that even when I hated certain characters, I knew the actors were doing exactly what they were supposed to do.One thing I realized while watching this drama is that you should never think you truly know someone, even if they are your closest person. The real side of people only comes out during the worst situations. When fear, greed, desperation, anger, or survival kicks in, people completely change. That was one of the strongest lessons this drama gave me. Trust can disappear so quickly, and sometimes the people you least expect become the ones who hurt you the most.
Nari especially irritated me so much. She acted so immature most of the time and honestly sounded like a teenage girl obsessed with arrogance and her own emotions. She kept talking about betrayal, loyalty, and honesty, but then what she did to Hyeon should also be called betrayal, right? People like her always pretend they are the loyal and truthful ones, but behind everything they lie, hurt others, and then somehow end up acting like the victim in the end. That personality annoyed me throughout the drama. But at the same time, I have to praise the actress because she played the role SO well that I genuinely hated the character. That means she did an amazing job.
And Kwon Si Won… dude, what was actually wrong with her? Just because she believed rumors and hated her own mother, she decided her mother deserved to rot in hell? That honestly made me so angry. If she truly loved her mother even a little, she should have at least talked to her and asked for the truth instead of blindly believing what others said. This is literally what happens when anger blinds your common sense. Once people become consumed by hatred, they stop thinking logically and start destroying everything around them, including themselves.
And Kwon Si Won being jealous of Do Hye Reong just because she kept visiting her mom’s house was honestly so weird to me 😭. Dude, wake up — that is not friendship, that is controlling behavior. You cannot claim to care about someone while trying to control who they meet, where they go, and how they live. That jealousy showed how possessive and emotionally unstable she really was.
The drama itself kept making me anxious because the plans to take down Kwon felt so unplanned and rushed 😭. I understand that things were happening quickly in the story, but while watching, I kept thinking, “PLEASE think properly before doing something.” Their decisions felt so hasty sometimes that it stressed me out while watching. That tension honestly made the drama more intense because I never felt relaxed while watching the plot unfold.
Also, the scenes where characters die 24 hours after their wishes come true were HORRIBLE to watch. Especially the throat-cutting scenes with the knife… absolutely not. I genuinely had to look away because those scenes made me uncomfortable. Beside those moments, though, the drama is not overly intense in terms of gore. The psychological tension and emotional frustration were honestly stronger than the violence itself.
I will say this though: if anyone plans to watch this drama, be patient and stay VERY focused on the plot because if you miss small details, you might get confused or frustrated. This is not the kind of drama you can casually watch while scrolling on your phone. You actually need to pay attention to understand everybody’s motives, lies, and actions.
And honestly, I don’t think this drama needs a Season 2. I feel like if they’re not going to bring better strategies and proper planning to defend Kim Na Ri ( I guess), then they should just leave it as it is. I was honestly tired of all the unplanned, rushed actions. I prefer when things are done with tactics and smart thinking rather than emotional, hasty decisions. And I cried so bad when the brother-in-law got injured—I genuinely thought he died for a moment. That scene hit me hard and stressed me out a lot.
What I liked most about If Wishes Were Killed is that it constantly shows how dangerous human desires can become. Once people are given the chance to get what they desperately want, morality slowly disappears. Greed, revenge, jealousy, guilt, fear — all of it starts controlling people’s decisions. Nobody in this drama felt completely innocent because every character was fighting with their own darkness in some way.

Starts out surprisingly brutal, but fizzles out after the first two episodes.
Finally a high budget horror kdrama. Started out great and surprisingly brutal, but kind of lost me a bit as it went on.I didn't really care much for the fl, her character was kind of bland. The mix of high school drama and horror worked well together though.
I feel like the horror elements were interesting, but they should have kept it more simple. It's also not very scary after episode 2. It also borrows heavily from other movies like 'Countdown' for example.
Still worth a watch and certainly entertaining. Give me more!

the acting is superbb!!!
okay so i went in fully expecting wall-to-wall jumpscares and honestly? i was so ready to be scared out of my mind every five minutes. but this drama said no actually, let’s do something different — and that ended up being the right call. the horror doesn’t hit you over the head constantly. it builds, creeps up on you, and when it does go there, it lands so much harder because you’re already emotionally attached. love when horror works like that.the premise is genuinely clever. Girigo is this app that supposedly grants any wish you upload as a video. sounds too good to be true, obviously, and it is — turns out the whole thing is a curse deliberately created by whoever built it. once that reveal starts unfolding, the story gets way darker and way more personal than i initially expected. it stops being about a spooky app and starts being about people.
and that’s where the drama really shines for me. the underlying message hits different — it’s not just the classic “be careful what you wish for” thing. it’s more about how human desire is messy and complicated. people think they’re wishing for something good but underneath it’s tangled up with revenge, with feeling abandoned, with wanting to hurt someone back without admitting it to themselves. that kind of nuance? in a YA horror? didn’t see it coming and i respect it.
acting-wise everyone holds their own but let’s talk about the worst characters because oh my god. Nari, Kwon Siwon, and Gitae — absolutely insufferable and i mean that as a compliment to the writing because they made me genuinely annoyed in the best way possible. and Hyungwook broooo 😭

Very overhyped
So yeah, I watched lots..lots of videos on instagram about this kdrama, fortunately managed to avoid spoiler ones. And almost all of the were like "It's a masterpiece!", 10 out 10 etc. Trailer didn't impress me, but I still decided to give it a chance. Well...can't say that it was terrible decision, but I was surprised in a bad way.Production here is not really bad, but it feels very low budget, like some low-budget trashy japanese series. And btw, this kdrama looks more like jdrama. Especially because of amount of blood. I instantly remembered japanese drama "Crow's Blood". It was also very silly and very bloody.
Story is not very interesting, twists are very predictable, characters not interesting, except maybe Na-Ri. Brother-in-law character is comedic relief here, and this is also one of my problems. Too many silly, stupid moments, like in comedy, and with sudden comedic music...in horror show! And as far as I know, it wasn't promoted like a black horror comedy or something like that. Also, the ending...No, I will say in general - after first couple of episodes story went downhill, except maybe episode 6. There are a lot of confusing story elements, and some of them just lead nowhere, or didn't get a proper resolution.
Can't really say much about acting - it was ok mostly. Kim Siwon and Hyeryung actresses and Kang Mi-Na are propably the best here, their acting was great, but their storylines felt really underdeveloped. Jeon So Nee was good, but nothing special, main heroine was ok, others - mediocre.
So, I don't understand the hype and good ratings. It's not completely terrible show, but not good either. I rated it with 5, mostly because it's short, with fast pacing, good concept overall, but really simirar to the german series "Wishlist", and with some good acting, but that's about it.

Best Horror Series in 2026
the acting is the one kept me watching this series, absolutely amazing series. First 3 eps where bloody and kind of unwatchable for me but then each eps became like climbing a mountain. NO BORING EPS AND NO BORING ACTORS!!!! Everything was incredible and interesting. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TO PEOPLE WHO LOVES HORROR!!Was this review helpful to you?
Lots of questions
First of all why were Nari's scenes super short and her story ignored most of the time? Why did none of the friends care for her if shes supposed to be in the friend group? Why did they kill her and didnt even go to pray for her like they did to the first guy? There was no explanation, no reason as to why one of the side characters was randomly killed. The main girl is not as good as the others think, she changes the curse, then killed Nari and lived normal after that. The two guys were involved but it just felt like they were side characters too, because everything somehow ended up surrounding the girl with the short hair. Was this review helpful to you?

Do you like blood?
Here’s my review of this new drama that just came out:Personally, I had never seen a drama that puts self-harm and suicide so front and center. I think this drama isn’t for everyone.
First, the story:
I found the story good overall, but a bit messy on one point. Yes, the girl commits suicide on the app and curses everyone who uses it. On that aspect, I thought the development was a bit strange. How do you curse an app? Sure, she’s a shaman, but they could have shown how she performed the ritual or something. Just saying “the app is cursed because of the suicide” feels a bit too easy and lacks real depth.
At the very beginning of the series, we see her suicide scene and the app is immediately cursed. Then the main story unfolds, and only at the end do we finally understand why the app was cursed (thanks to the scenes revealed at the end). I think it would have been better for the viewers if the full intrigue had been introduced right from the start. That way, we would immediately understand how and why the app was cursed, by who, and for what reason all while following the high school students who discover the “cursed” app, what happens to them, and how they try to escape it. Then, at the end, we could reach the same final scene where she has to destroy the phones to stop everything.
That’s my feeling about how the series handled the main theme of the story. In short: they should have shown all the scenes about the girl’s suicide and the curse right at the beginning instead of revealing them only at the end.
Now, about the actors and their performances:
Honestly, nothing to criticize here. I thought all the characters were well cast and played their roles convincingly. Especially Na-ri at the end she really surprised me. I didn’t expect her to act that well!
The OSTs are good, but they didn’t particularly impress or surprise me.
The visuals the blood, the appearances, and the “ghosts” are very well done!
In short, it’s a good series and I recommend it, but if you’re sensitive to blood or suicide themes, don’t watch it!
