- Zhou Zhou Ben Fu Ni (2025) is a great romance miniseries with Huai Wen (as Zhou Jin Xu) and Fu Yu Shu (as Jiang Ni) in the leading couple’s role. The story is well written and produced and the cast did a good job bringing their characters to life. The leading couple has a fantastic relationship and romantic chemistry. The romance is slow burn but it is really worth the wait! Huai Wen and Fu Yu Shu portrayed their characters with such finesse and accuracy that gave the audience a natural, suave, steadfast, trustful, and beautiful romance.
For the meantime, this drama can be found on YouTube under the caption: “Married CEO for runaway sister, turns out he'd wanted her all along” or “I married brother-in-law for my sister who ran away from marriage, but he spoiled me like a treasure”

Sweet and Warm with Mature Leads

Worth the watch.

Not a lot of green tea and not a lot of bullying. The ML and FL had just a tiny misunderstandings probably because they did not know each other prior to marriage and they were clear from the start with their expectations. I love it when the ML told the FL that he would be committed to her and stay faithful. And he was a man of his word. He has a clear mind and both of them trust each other. They don't get influenced by other people, especially the ones trying to break their marriage.

It's kind of a slow burn romance and I'm glad they portrayed the FL the way they did. She is angelic and caring especially with her mom, but she is a toughie. They respected each other strongly and I think that could be enough to sustain a marriage. It's a good foundation and they work on getting closer and making their marriage work.

The ending (marriage ceremony) was so heartwarming. The ML cried and it's both of relief and happiness. He was unabashed and didn't care people are seeing him cry. This is what a strong male is. He was unapologetically in love and wasn't afraid to show it.

There's good acting, and good plot/script.
And the ñeads look good together.
Will I re-watch? Definitely!

My expectations were not met because of Fu Yu Shu's underwhelming performance

I added this drama on my Plan to Watch list months ago but only remembered to watch it last night after watching Huai Wei's uncle romance drama co-starring Liu Jia Xi. This is my second drama of his so I had some expectations. Unfortunately this drama did not meet my expectations.

What I liked:
1. ML characterisation - Somehow this drama reminded me of kdrama When the Phone Rings because the substitute bride is younger sister of woman betrothed to ML. ML exuded maturity, patience and gentleness and I liked that. He voluntarily offered to pick FL up from work.
2. Styling - Huai Wen looked dashing in his outfits. I liked FL's outfits too. The wedding dress gave a butterfly look while the pink chiffon evening gown was very pretty.
3. Supporting characters - I liked ML's mother & the dog (so adorable).
4. Huai Wen - I really liked his acting here. His facial expressions were on point. When he proposed, there were expressions of love and sincerity on his face.

What I disliked:
1. FL characterisation - Gosh I was frustrated with her demeanor. She had a bland personality. The fact that she was a medical doctor unsure / clueless when it came to intimacy with her husband, threw me off.
2. Romance - ML was always giving (which was good) but FL hardly took any intiative until the last 30 minutes or so of the drama. It turned me off that ML always had to "remind" her of their marital obligations. She was mechanical that I found the intimate scenes awkward.
3. Antagonists - The rival doctor was pathetic.
4. Acting - Fu Yu Shu's performance was underwhelming & stiff. Despite the good kisses, there was no chemistry between her & Huai Wen.
5. Duration - There were many videos on Dailymotion with various length with the longest videl being more than 3 hours long. I chose to watch the one with 2 hours length (medium length) which I later found out it was 1.25x speed during screen recording. Even with this length, I found the drama too slow-paced for my liking.

Zhou Zhou Ben Fu Ni — Sweet, Stylish, and Maybe Just a Little Too Slow

Zhou Zhou Ben Fu Ni follows two people who keep crossing paths, and the chemistry between Fu Yushu and Huai Wen really sells it. It was light, visually pretty, and has that cozy “city life meets love story” feeling that makes it perfect for watching on the go. The leads, played by Fu Yushu and Huai Wen, bring with them a youthful energy and sincerity that make the short drama format proves more effective than anticipated

That said, i sometimes felt the pacing was surprisingly slow for such short episodes, and also found the female lead a bit bland and frustrating sometimes but then had a great chemistry with the ML. she often comes across as passive, lacking the initiative that could make the romance feel more dynamic. Still, i enjoyed the quick, feel-good romance with a sleek modern vibe, Zhou Zhou Ben Fu Ni remains a cute little escape that’s easy to enjoy, even if it’s not the most emotionally layered drama out there.
That been said. i will rewatch this drama again.
