Teg, a struggling musician, receives news that his father has passed away. His mother urges him to return to their hometown to handle the inheritance of some land in order to pay off debts. Upon returning, Teg discovers that the land is home to Krae Ngok, a traditional shadow puppet troupe and that he isn't the sole heir. His childhood friend, Nu Daeng, has been adopted into the family and also has a claim. What begins as a conflict over inheritance gradually turns into a journey of rediscovering family, roots, and identity through the arts of shadow puppetry and music.
