So sweet omg
Watched this on IQIYI's international app and I wished it was longer. It's quick but in a format that didn't make me feel like having whiplash. It definitely needs a comedy tag since I cracked up a lot while also going "Lol that's so stupid" since comedy is that: sillyness and stupid mixed in in a good way. It's hard for me to explain.Guan Yue's performance was so much better here than what I've seen him do before in his first Drama that I watched, Night of Love with You . His character is expressive throughout and is absolutely smitten with the FL when he find out who she is, and doesn't just stare at the camera blankly. He gets sad, angry, playful, goofy, and puppy eyed. Did I mention puppy eyes??? PUPPY eyes.
Du Yu Chen did so great and it was my second drama seeing with her. Last one I watched was Ashes of Love which was years ago so I couldn't remember the character name while checking that title's cast&crew area. Her performance definitely outshines Guan Yue due to more experience but he played off her fantastically.
The chemistry? So gooooood, so hot. Wanted more kisses but I'm greedy lol
The storyline was pretty fun but the grandfather felt too "we need something funny and a bit of filler" but I loved LOVED how the two leads were married and the execution of one of them laying low while the other one was trying to hunt them down. I can't remember if it's entirely different to what I've seen (I've seen too much lol) but I really loved it. The other part of the plot I felt needed more room to grow and shine but that's the downside of short length and budget. So I rated it fairly.
The music. Okay I get it, it sets the mood and in some scenes, it fit. Other times too loud to hear their voices (yes even with subs I wanna hear them :( it throws me off if I don't). I really don't like when the music gets subbed and thankfully that wasn't an issue here yay!
Rewatch value? Absolutely, I rewatched some scenes before work today so. You bet.
Overall loved it, it's short and sweet with some drama mixed in. Comedy too lol needs that tag. So if you want something like that with a dash of cat and mouse [literally], then definitely give it a go.

Moderately good for a vertical drama
This was a fine background drama while my mind wandered, full of lies on top of lies on top of misunderstandings that wrapped up with contrivances, but with pretty decent acting from the leads. There were some very sweet moments in between exposition dumps and random attempts at comedy. Grandpa got on my nerves with his excess goofiness. The plot and relationship pacing was random - either too fast or too slow. And the villains were all over the map in terms of villaining and acting quality.
The lead actors were good, though. Du Yu Chen did good work with the dramatic, emotional moments even when they made no sense because the plot was so random. Guan Yue's charm is more evident here where he doesn't have to play expressionless. He's quite good at quietly funny moments.
All my complaints aside, it was less ridiculous than some verticals so I'm not mad I watched it.
