The story begins when the protagonist, Shinjo Masamune, attempts to kidnap Nanase Rin, the daughter of a wealthy hospital director, at the suggestion of his wife, in order to secure the money for their daughter's surgery, who has heart disease. He hesitates to the very end, but is urged on by his wife, who remotely controls the car over the phone, and somehow manages to get close to the director's house, when a girl jumps out in front of Shinjo's car. Just when he narrowly avoids an accident by braking suddenly, the girl faints and collapses. That girl is none other than Rin, the target of the kidnapping. Shinjo is taken aback by how easily the kidnapping succeeds, but when Rin wakes up, she has lost her memory. Shinjo quickly lies and says he is the father, and is forced to play the role of father from then on. However, shortly afterwards, Rin's parents, the hospital director and his wife, are murdered by an unknown assailant. Shinjo is now a suspect in the murders and finds himself in a desperate situation, but it turns out that the kidnapped Rin is a child genius who speaks multiple languages, is knowledgeable, and has sharp ideas. The two find themselves in a reversal of roles, with Shinjo criticizing the head of the team and Rin for being strong-willed, but also getting advice on how to get out of this situation. Pursued not only by the police but also by unidentified men who are after Rin for some reason, the story depicts the unusual escape of Shinjo and Rin, who share a common destiny. " If I lose memories again, don't tell me the truth. Continue the lie that you're my papa"

Once I start watch, I can't stop!! With suspense cliffhanger at the end of every episode make on the edge of your seat.. I felt excited, curious and thrilled throughout the drama... Also excellent storyline that pack with plot twist with another plot twist.. Great journey where the connection revealed bit by bit from one episode to another episode while the truth seems unsure.

Other than that, surrounded with A-list cast from senior, villain and kid delivered best performance and make the drama significant.. They nailed the role and I don't see awkward moment between them.. Nice plot, great script, amazing acting and beautiful OST ^_^

Highly recommended!! One of the best 2025 jdrama

If Kidnap Means Unfreedom, Then I've Been Kidnapped Since I Born.

A remake of South Korean drama with the same title. A mystery, escapist, suspense, and slight science fiction. Following a man who's gonna kidnapping a young girl from a wealthy family. Once, the kidnapped agenda turns into uncovering several veils. Layer from layer, lie within a lie. Discovering the odd facts.

The dynamic chemistry that built between kidnapper and the young girl was clearly exciting. I love to see their assemble, their chaos, their love-hate, even their sincere that never be fooled. Especially the way they highlighting the different subject's name within each other, the girl that slowly calling him 'Papa', and the kidnapper who slowly call her 'my daughter', Oh that's light-hearted. I'm sobbing for those two.

The performance of both Saitoh Takumi and Nagao Yuno were perfectly balance and fit each other as papa-daughter. Nagao Yuno, girl, you're just a kid but your acting was chef's kiss. The way she could clearly portraying as 'fake cry' and 'real cry' was hella good. Age is just number, and she prove it. I could clearly knows the different either while she's fooling Masamune, or while she does a real crying.

Although, for me, some twist was kinda predictable, but they're success to giving another surprise moment. By only nine episodes, dare to say this is well constructed. Nothing exaggerate, nor filler scene at all. Instead, just serving the packed plot. Some might say the last episode a bit rushed, which I agree, but not that too-rushed. Still on track and neat.

I love the way they crafted it with more Japanese sense. The banding together, forgiving the villain, unveils the villain's background, also the redemption despite they did an anti-hero things. This is what it makes them good. The Japanese sense that different and heart-warming. For me, this is one of the best 2025 summer dorama that I've watched. Just give it a try!
