Izumi Shuri, who became a famous writer overnight when the first novel she wrote in college won the Akutagawa Prize, moved to her husband's family home in the countryside after getting married. She had fallen into a slump where she couldn't write a novel, and was hoping for beautiful scenery, clean air, good water and food, and a life with a different pace to that in Tokyo. But then her husband's sister, Yoshimura Harumi, who hadn't been around for over 10 years, suddenly comes home. Although she calls herself a "genius novelist," Harumi doesn't write or read novels, and begins a so-called NEET lifestyle where she just eats and sleeps at home.
