Great Start, ain't regret watching but not that satisfied ending.

Okay, I started watching it because of park eun bin and yang se jeong .Then she's a great actress.That's why. and he dont do so many shows but i loved his past shows which he did thats why. Spooky in love has a greak starting, i liked the plots too, but if you are looking for a great thriller kinda feeling this is not a go to show, this a fun watch, i waited for episodes to come out, watched but honestly it was all good till 8 or 9 episodes in last 3 episodes all I was like wth , its a good show if you wanna have a good watch but it isn't a choice if you wanna watch something that just satisfy you, I am lil disappointed by the makers about how they covered it up in the later episodes, it could have been a better show, but nevertheless, i ain't regret watching it but still it didnt ended well.

Starts strong, ends weak

This story begins well. The two leads meet and the female lead accidentally leaves the male lead seeing ghosts. this is something she has been doing for years since she almost died in a boating accident that killed the man she loved. The Part where the male lead is seeing ghosts and they are working together to solve their deaths is fun. The ML is scared and ill at ease in a fun way. Eventually he comes to see that if it’s this hard for him with support it must have been terribly hard for her with no one to tell or consult.

The biggest problem is that the ghost aspects disappear by halfway through. The story focuses much more on things going on with the second male lead who realizes he has no chance with Yeo-ri and starts doing nefarious company rival stuff.
The second half of the show is fairly boring aside from fun interactions with and about secondary characters. Sometimes I find 16 to 22 episode series a bit long. in this case more ghosts through out and a longer lead in to the resolution might have helped.

same bs as always

it started well. it was fun, until it stopped. theres so much that i wanna talk about. the relationship wasnt that bad but also not that good, it was okay. i get a lot of things that happened to them because it looked natural (for me) like, the way they fell in love. it was fun at the beginning bc of the way gangwook and yeori kept bumping on each other, but the main plot dissapeared while you kept watching, becoming just family drama and i hated her aunt and her cousins💀 and it was just so stupid the reason gangwook's grandma needed them to break up with each other, it was literally just the drama bc it seemed that it didnt actually matter somehow idk

dont even get me started with the truck of doom, im so fucking tired with it and made me angry how it hit yeori, she couldve died lmao it hit her quite hard but yeah, it was impossible for her to die.

also, when seungjae died i didnt understand why yeori had the weapon (the tube ?) when gangwook and the police found her. idk if it was just me, but i think it was pretty obvious that she didnt do it (it didnt matter to the story, and didnt also care apparently) but idk if the script writers wanted it to seem like it was her ? even tho seungjae clearly wanted to blackmail minhwan and yeori didnt even have any reason to kill him "theorically" (bc yeah, she didnt know until she broke into seungjae's house)

(i appreciate yeori's grandma always supported her, and she knew her family was insane and protected yeori always, never meddled into yeori and gangwook's rs)

I feel good romcom/mystery/ghost story/corporate intrigue

A feel good mystery/ ghost story/ romcom/ cheabol corporate intrigue. I think that’s all the genres covered. I think if this had 16 episodes we would have seen more ghosts, But the current industry standard is 12 and you could feel it with the mystery storyline. I think they would’ve added more ghost stories otherwise .As a romcom, it was really well done and fleshed out. the corporate intrigue was not over blown or filler, but stayed on the plot points. while there was a good bit of accidents, they served the overall themes and we’re not plot advancements. I really enjoy these actors, a real standout crowd. I looked forward to every episode each week.

Great leads and a compelling plot

Things I adored

1 The ML. He's not my type of handsome, yet I fell for him from the first episode. So cute, so genuine and I loved that he wasn't the typical icy and fearsome CEO. He was a real, vulnerable person and it was great to see him struggle with what was going on. I loved his character on all accounts. With his colleagues and friends, with his grandmother, with the antagonist, with the FL's family and of course the FL. He was perfect. I'd love to see him in other dramas. I'm curious to see how he does.

Things I loved

1 The office colleagues and friends of the ML. I loved both of them as actors and as characters. I also adored he relationship between them. It sounded genuine and it was fun to watch. I wish we had more scenes with them.

2 The FL. I loved her but I didn't adored her because there was something that held her back in some scenes and it felt to me like she didn't embrace her role totally. That said, maybe it's my impression and she was instructed to play this way. I went to watch Attorney Woo after seeing her here and loved the series, so I know she can act. Plus she is gorgeous, one of the most beautiful Korean actresses, and her character was moving. I felt for her each time she struggled with her abilities. I wanted to hug her. That's why I felt the ML deserved a place in the "adore" list, because he was there for her and embraced his role plainly. Still, a great performance and a great character.

3 The FL's outfits. I always check the outfits and when they are good they add to my enjoyment. Here the FL had some stunning outfits and of course she has the perfect figure to wear them. I'm not saying all were great, there were a couple I found tacky, horrible, but most were great.

Things I liked

1 The ghost stories. I could have put them in the love list, but I didn't love all the cases. Some where good some bad. The tree thing didn't interest me more than that. As for the complain that there weren't enough, I get it but it didn't bother me. I would have watched more cases, but I was invested in the FL's professional and personal story as well so it wasn't a big deal for me.

Things I disliked

1 Grandmother number 1. The ML's grandma. What a stupid woman. At first I liked her, I thought she was a little eccentric and I like eccentric, but when she started grumbling about fate and stupid things I started hating her. There's no excuse for a sensible person to behave this way and that for someone who read a million books about zodiacs in every culture. I thought she was stupid and stupid is what I dislike the most in characters.

2 Grandmother number 2. The FL's grandma. She wasn't as stupid, but she also got on my nerves when she didn't trust the FL and tried to get her way using a few tricks. I disliked that she knew the FL was struggling and she insisted for her to get engaged etc. Stupid mentality and she doesn't get a pass from me.

3 The mother of the 2ML. If we're supposed to admire her for the way she treated her son after everything has been revealed, well it didn't work for me. Why the heck would I forgive someone who let my son die? He was also her son, so what? That just makes it even more despicable what he did and all that because he was jealous. So, no I didn't admire her at all. She made me mad actually that someone who killed his brother would find solace once he got released and people to support him. I can understand a passion crime, not a crime where you just watch someone you can save die.

4 The attitude of the FL sometimes toward the ML. She wasn't cold neither disrespectful, but it bothered me that she wasn't expressive enough either and especially in the last episode. I wanted some more warmth, some more love showing. I was a bit disappointed. I thought they had chemistry but something was missing. That's why I didn't rate it higher.

Things I hated

1 Kang Min Hwan. The actor has the style I hate the most. Like he knows he's handsome, I guess he is for some, and that he can get away with everything. Yes, it was the role and he was the worst. A man child who never got over his brother's love for the FL and his jealousy made him one of the ugliest people in a drama. But it was also the actor I disliked. I know he must have played well, but I disliked him so much, I don't want to watch anything with him. He has the face I want to punch. Sorry fort hose who like him, he's one of the most irritating actors to me. If I watch him in other dramas and change my opinion I'll be the first to admit it. It happened a few times in the past.

2 Speaking of stupid, the cousin must have been the stupidest character I've ever seen and I'm not joking. Who in their right mind befriends and even wants to marry a murderer? Even when she knew she continued to have contacts with him. She's a train wreck and I'd love to see her pay for her stupidity. She got off scotch free if you ask me.

3 Her mother. Such an idiot who thought she was smart. She also deserved more retribution and I'd love to see her pay a hefty price as well. The actress is good, I'll give her that, but the character was one to enrage you. Who is more dangerous than a stupid person? A stupid person who thinks they are smart. I won't make a new entry for the brother. He fitted perfectly the whole family.

4 Kim Do Wan. What the heck was this? Such an arrogant person who you wanted in prison for two lives. I can't even believe that stupid cousin wanted any relationship with him. I'm happy they nailed him and early so because I couldn't stand him more than a minute. I guess the actor did a great job since I never want to see him again. I mean it, I hated every minute he appeared.

The best rom com in a long time

I am attached to this drama from the beginning until the end with no complaints

I relate to it too .., I am someone who suffers from OCD sometimes and the treatment mechanism is that you ignore the thoughts and don’t give a reaction to it
this is the same one when Ma gwang was dealing with the ghost appearing in his life

so I hoped they focused much on that but still wouldn’t change anything

the comedy and the acting was something else.., I was laughing every episode

I just hoped for more episodes

Underwhelming

I like dramas with ghosts, particularly ones with 'good' ghosts. This show wasn't that. It barely adheres to its core premise. It's more of a family/corporate drama than a supernatural crime rom com. That's my one issue with it (perhaps the biggest). The first sign that this wasn't going to focus on the 'Spooky' is the fact that the ghosts hardly spoke. At first, I thought it was a cool and unique creative decision, but I guess it was just an indicator of the writer's priorities.

Now I won't dwell on the cliches. Common tropes are not bad if the story is well written, plausible and consistent. The show suffers from a weak script. Character motivations and actions sometimes felt out of place and unearned, things happening to quickly (like the romance). I think the show tried to do so much and failed. Some of the storylines could have been done away with and instead spent on building a convincing romance (and crime) plot.

Now I did like some aspects of it, the friendship between the ML and his two colleagues for one. I typically find most romcom friendships (moreso on the ML) unconvincing, in that the non-leads seem to put all the effort in while the ML just exists to benefit from it without reciprocation, but I didn't feel much of it with this drama. I guess that's a plus.

I didn't hate watching this, but it's a drama I'll probably not recall much of in a few months. Nothing in it standouts, it's just average, be it the OST, the story, characters, acting.

such a sweet story

honestly, for such a dark premise, it really balanced out well with the main characters love story being so sweet. there wasn’t really that back and forth of feeling. ML did such a great job with golden retriever energy and he was precious. FL did such a great job being a softie at heart but keeping people at a distance behind walls (gloves). and they both did excellent at making us feel their emotions. even the FL didn’t really cry but you could FEEL her distress and sadness. the ML crying absolutely broke my heart. but their love was so sweet and she deserved someone who would cherish her despite the ghosts. and the ghosts even got to thank her which made me absolutely bawl.

The Truth behind the Ghosts

This drama gives me the feel of Master's Sun. Both FLs can see ghosts and somehow the ghosts are asking for help, for closure. The difference lies on the MLs.

I like that they paired Park Eun Bin and Yang Se Jong. They are both cute and seem have a good rapport with one another. Se Jong seems to be in his element. Him being introverted may be good for the role of a prosecutor. As Prosecutor Ma, he showed a range of emotions from fearful of ghost, astute when it comes to law, crying his eyes for Yeori in many situations and being joyful and in love. Whereas Eun Bin had already proven in many of her dramas how versatile she is. She had shown a strong leader of her company, not letting others to put her down and able to surpass the odds with the help of Prosecutor Ma.

Here are what I like about it:
1. The directors chose the right actors for the leads. The BTS I see in YouTube showed so much of their chemistry and how much fun they have even off cam.
2. The pacing of the story is not boring, gives us many plot twists which surprises us in the next episode.
3. The outfits of Cheon Yeo Ri are just lovely. This is just right for her status as an owner of a hotel.
4. The ghosts are not so scary like that in Master's Sun. Each ghost needs justice and/or closure for them to get to the next life.
5. Some of the locations, specially that in Jeju captures a bit of its beauty. It is good that they also get to go to Singapore.
6. Cheon Yeo Ri's grandma not that too strict or controlling.
7. The supporting actors played vital roles to bring flavor in the intrigues, the problem solving and even in romance side.

As the drama is entitled Spooky in Love, it seems the ghosts stopped appearing as soon as Prosecutor Ma and Yeori stopped holding bare hands. I don't mind that the ghosts stopped appearing for a long period of time, in the end we see a closure the closure with Yeori and her freedom from the "curse".

Am glad there are not much other subplots in the story. And the last two episodes gave clarity to the motive of Min-Hwan. Ong Seo Woo showed the transformation of Min-Hwan at the latter part of the series. We can see that he was able to convey different emotions from being caring to Yeori, being jealous, being mad and greedy, to being murderous and then to being remorseful. That is a lot of emotions.

Thank you for giving us a happy ending - revealing the truth, uniting the leads and of justice. I hope we can see Eun Bin and SeJeong as leads in future romcoms. Love this pair.

Hauntingly fun, until episode 5 - a narrative fraud

Let’s call this show, "I See Dead People.” A woman sees recently departed spirits seeking justice. Yes, the premise is essentially The Sixth Sense meets a police procedural. But it's an entertaining concept, and after two episodes, this K-drama already looks like a winner.

The cast is exceptionally charismatic, and the central storyline is easy to embrace: a psychic and a detective join forces to solve murders while a number of intriguing subplots begin to unfold.

Of course, part of the fun of watching K-dramas is spotting the plot holes. And this series appears determined to provide plenty of them.

Spoiler Alert: Stop reading if you haven't watched Episode Two.

The show's first major case involves a professional golfer accused of murdering his girlfriend. He's acquitted because prosecutors never recover the body.

A flashback reveals what actually happened. Around 6:00 p.m., the couple argues in a hotel room. During the struggle, the woman falls, strikes her head on the wooden bed frame, and dies. Panicking, the golfer flees, leaving blood behind.
Later, he hatches an elaborate plan. After photographing a flight attendant leaving the airport, he offers her a ride. She accepts, and accidentally leaves her wallet in his car.

Disguised as the flight attendant—with her ID, clothing, luggage, and a wig—he checks into the hotel room next door to the victim's. The rooms share a terrace. He crosses the balcony, enters the victim's room, stuffs her body into a suitcase, takes it back to his room, takes the elevator to the roof, climbs a water tower, and dumps the body into the hotel's water supply.

It's certainly creative.

It's also where the story completely falls apart.

The Biggest Plot Holes:

Housekeeping
The body supposedly remained in the room overnight, yet housekeeping never discovered it.

The Balcony
The entire scheme depended on two neighboring rooms connected by unlocked balcony doors. Modern hotels wouldn’t feature this design. And when balconies do exist, they're typically locked or otherwise secured.

The Disguise
The golfer successfully impersonated a female flight attendant despite modern high-definition security cameras, hotel employees, and identity verification.

The Body
This creates several problems all by itself. First, a standard flight attendant carry-on simply isn't large enough to conceal an adult. Second, even if it somehow fit, dragging that much weight through a hotel and then lifting it up a rooftop water tower would require extraordinary strength. Third, hotel rooftops are generally locked, alarmed, and monitored—not casually accessible.

The Investigation
Perhaps the biggest mystery isn't the murder—it's the detectives. Security footage revealed the victim never exited the room. Wouldn't investigators immediately examine every possible exit? A connected balcony and neighboring room would be among the first things they would check.

And that's before considering the forensic evidence. There was blood in the room. And a decomposing body in the hotel's water supply would create obvious contamination issues. The list goes on.

None of these problems ruin the show, however.

In fact, they may become part of its charm.

Sometimes a series succeeds not because every detail survives close scrutiny, but because it's simply fun to watch. This show has a terrific cast, an engaging supernatural premise, and enough personality that viewers may happily forgive its increasingly haunted logic.

If the remaining episodes maintain the same energy, this could still become one of the more entertaining K-dramas of the year—even if the detectives never notice the balcony.

Update 1: Just finished Ep. 4: A shocking twist that just might prove this show is breaking with standard kdrama tropes. Excited to see what comes next.

Update 2: Just watched the beginning of Ep. 5 & turned it off. Here's why. The K-drama formula is practically sacred: no matter how toxic, incompatible, or geographically separated the leads may be, they'll inevitably end up together.

Episode 4 looked like it was daring to break that rule.

After saving the heroine, the male lead is absolutely demolished by a speeding car, launched into the air like a ragdoll, then rushed to the hospital in critical condition. His heart flatlines. Friends break down in tears. The woman, devastated, wanders outside to cry beneath the moonlight...

...when he suddenly appears in front of her.

Completely healed. Perfectly healthy. Dressed in his casual street clothes.

Classic ghost behavior, right?

It was a wonderfully unexpected twist. For a moment, it looked like this series had the courage to do something genuinely original.

Then Episode 5 arrived and screamed, "Psych!"

He's not dead. He's not a ghost. Instead, we're told that during his life-threatening medical emergency, he somehow pressed pause on dying, slipped past the doctors trying to save his life, changed into his street clothes, strolled outside to comfort the woman, then casually returned to the hospital for a few more tests.

...Excuse me?

I expect a healthy helping of absurdity from K-dramas. That's part of the fun. But this isn't a contrivance—it's narrative fraud. The first four episodes built an engaging supernatural mystery, only for the writers to yank the rug out from under the audience with a twist that makes absolutely no sense.

Episode 5 didn't surprise me.

It cheated me.

My rating plummeted from a 10 to a spiteful 2, and I dropped the series on the spot. In a world overflowing with great television, I'd rather spend my time with shows written by people who respect both their own story and the audience's intelligence.
