Actually Not Bad
It was kind of different. One very beautiful kiss scene, especially for a Korean BL. Interesting story line with good acting. Nothing corny or cheesy, really. But it takes a left turn into the twilight zone towards the end which left me a little off balance. Still good, but pretty sure a couple of episodes could have been left out and it still end well enough. Was this review helpful to you?

my team leader should be FIRED
This was such a forgettable show but I actually took some notes so we are going to go based on that. I give this a 7 out of 10. It was pretty okay, like not good but also not that bad. What I liked, what I didn’t like, and some final thoughts. What I liked. I really enjoyed the characters. Well, the main characters. Both of the guys were really hot and I think that they both played their respective characters really well. They also had low-key good chemistry like in this weird short drama kind of way they had a really good chemistry. That’s kind of it. I’m low-key blanking on the show right now. I think this is the one where his ex is in the office with him. I like the stuff with the ex at first and then it just became too much and it got boring. Yeah, I think this had a pretty strong start and then it kind of faded like most of these do but yeah that’s all I liked.
What I didn’t like, there were too many useless characters that served no point to the plot. Like what are you guys even doing here, shut your dumb ass up and go back to work. They tried so hard to make these characters have meaning to, but they just didn’t. I know I just glazed the ex, but after his “good era” came down, he pissed me all off and made me so fucking angry. The girl's character is just miserable fucking writing like I understand her point but the way they wrote her character made me really angry and it just made me not want to finish this show. Also her non-biological brother why did they even introduce him? He genuinely served no point to the plot. It was just so random and they tried to connect so many ideas that just didn’t work well together so it made it also a hard watch. Yeah, that’s kind of all I remember.
If you have IQIYI then watch it. The guys are such eye candy, and make it all worth it (not really). It’s pretty short and very forgettable but if you’re gonna pay for it, don’t fucking watch this bullshit. Okay bye!

they could've just kept it as an office romance / triangle where Tae In feels for Yeong Won, seeing him get assaulted by his bf/ex or being humiliated by his ex's new gf/fiancé. there were so many opportunities where anyone would want to intervene & come to the defense of Yeong Won. even someone as stoic & aloof as Tae In must have a humane side - he didn't have a side quest when he agreed to let the woman (his father set him up with) hold his arm on the way out, as a last goodbye. so he couldn't find compassion in his heart for someone that worked under him for 5 yrs?!?
the whole Yeong Won programed the scenario in the game he was working on & it applied to him - somehow? even though i have to wonder, can one get shocked via the mouse?!?? seems far-fetched.
& who was the dude with the mullet?!? if he was Ha Yeong "brother" (as they both grew up in the same orphanage), then why he f*ck her over?!? for money? the mains weren't offering him any, so why suddenly help them?? also he suddenly pops up & helps Yeong Won solve the programing glitch - who is he? a god? like the Greek gods as they the only ones who wanna seduce humans & he kept trying to lure Yeong Won.
if u ignore all the game quest crap this was good. it was well acted & interesting. would've loved if Yeong Won stood-up for himself more & didn't let Gyeong Un gaslight him, let alone abuse him. yeah love makes u stupid & u let people walk all over u, but there were so many red flags & at what point does one say enough is enough?!? & Tae In came to Yeong Won's help in the stairwell when he got punched, that should've been the end of that relationship, in that moment IMO as no matter what ur going through in ur own world, when an outside intervenes that's a sobering moment.
& given the moronic quest i don't fault Tae In for ghosting Yeong Won after he achieved his goal; 1 he wasn't gay. 2 he might as well have been A-sexual & 3 he forced himself into interacting & coming to Yeong Won rescue... when sh*t is force on u, even if u have a change of heart ur knee jerk reaction is to retreat to what u r used too the sec u r free & to him that was distancing himself for Yeong Won - going back to working around the clock. as he needed time to figure out his own feelings. so if u ignore the quest crap this was good, but cause of it, this was just ok.

I wish there was another path in the game
I probably shouldn't be laying into a mini-séries like I'm about to because I don't think it was ever intended to be a classical masterpiece, but it's kind of hilarious how quickly this fell into so many tropes without really needing to➖ An MC who does not stand up for himself, has the personality of zero but has three men interested in him romantically at one point or another - check.
➖ A tsundere ML who's sole expression is displeased and also has the disposition of a moody piece of cardboard - check.
➖ A slimy ex who does nothing but complain and yell - check.
➖ An evil female character who only works to plot the downfall of the MC - check.
Off of the plot alone - where an electrocution caused by a computer lands one of the leads in an RPG type of situation - this had incredible potential but they messed up at the first instance by having the ML end up as the "player" instead of the MC.
Imagine, Yeong Won, our MC is a game developer in charge of writing the script for a new game his company is producing. He gets electrocuted accidentally and when he wakes up, he finds that he can see all the elements of the game in real life - including the dialogues he wrote. And his mission? Make sure his boss doesn't absolutely hate him like he does at the moment, before the game goes to market.
But instead, we got Tae In, our ML, being the one who was electrocuted, and the "player" - his mission? Make Yeong Won like him, and later fall in love with him.
I cannot explain the amount of HR violations either of these scenarios would entail, but we do love a good office romance.
But I'm going to continue to dwell on the way this could've actually been amazing - because it could! In my imagination, Yeong Won would've been the "player", which would've given him the chance to have a personality besides pretty. A comedy of errors would've worked so well here, even if it may be basic, Yeong Won trying so hard to make Tae In like him, but it's not the tricks that work, it's the genuine moments between them.
This way, Tae In also gets to have a personality while still being as stoic as the writers clearly wanted him to be. It's not new but it's fresh and funny and light hearted, everything I want it to be.
Instead we got a melodrama.
In trying to reverse the roles, the plot fell into so many traps it laid out for itself. The writers seemingly forgot that this started out with Tae In needing Yeong Won to like him, and the only way to do that is by saving him from his ex and himself. Obviously.
The ex and his new girlfriend were the worst additions to this series, I can forgive two leads who don't move their faces an inch in 59 episodes, but introducing trash to get them together - I cannot forgive.
Yeong Won is always sad and getting slapped, Tae In is a secret chaebol, there is an unnecessary amount of slow running shots, what more could you expect from a kdrama, really?
My imaginary plot and it's resolution can end with Yeong Won telling Tae In about the mission, or Tae In telling Yeong Won he also had a mission (it's not really fleshed out), but the actual ending sucked. Not because it's not what I wanted, because it made no sense. Like some last minute resolution for the sake of it.
This would not be the first mini-séries I would recommend, there are other better options but if you are looking for a short background watch, it's not the worst option.
