A Weekly Obsession Fueled by Powerful Performances

Seeing these two actors reunite in a spin-off sequel to A Breeze of Love was something I never expected—but I’m genuinely glad it happened. With their undeniable chemistry and striking visuals, it would’ve been a waste not to bring them back together on screen.

While the story could certainly benefit from tighter writing and more polish, it’s the actors, their natural performances and electric connection, that kept me fully invested. They bring a level of authenticity that makes every moment feel effortless and engaging.

What I particularly enjoyed is how the series builds tension over time. As someone who followed each episode weekly, I found myself constantly drawn in by the suspense and emotional pull. The narrative may not be entirely straightforward but that unpredictability adds to its charm, creating a compelling and layered storyline.

Despite some room for improvement in the direction, the show succeeds in delivering consistent thrills. Each episode ends on a note that leaves you with goosebumps, making the wait for the next installment both agonizing and exciting.

And ultimately, it all comes back to the actors. Their performances aren’t just good, they’re captivating. They embody their roles with such depth, nuance and sincerity that you can’t help but be pulled into their world. Every glance, every line, every subtle emotion feels intentional and real. Magnetic chemistry. Unforgettable presence. Undeniable talents

Mediocre

gawd ill be real with you, this series bored me out of my mind. Everything was lackluster from the plot to the acting. The time traveling plot made zero sense to me. I already hated it when he managed to go to the past and future easily. Basically there was no medium for this time travel, he managed to go back to the present cuz he ripped a drawing and then to the past when he drew again and then went back again when he interrupted a death? and supposed to accident was so stupid and anti climatic. bro literally wasn't paying attention to the road at all. He is stupid. Also the force villainization of the best friend for some reason?? made absolutely zero sense, why was U Jin treating his own friend like a gum stuck on his shoe? It literally came from no where. Now the acting, lacked alot of emotions. I expect that when you meet the love of your life again after he died it would be more emotional but he had the same face the entire time. Even the kiss was pretty meh by today standards. Didn't even see anything, was either too dark or too bright or was just a peck kiss. So meh from the beginning to the end.

had a lot of potential...

as far as kbls go in terms of plot, this was definitely unique and interesting. it reminded me of love for love's sake in some parts, which is one of my favourite bls. the production was pretty good too, some actors were stronger than others but overall everyone did pretty well.

my main issue with this drama is the inconsistencies in the plot. it had a lot of potential to be an incredible story, and i do understand that 8 30-minute episodes is restricting but i still believe it could have been handled a lot better in many ways.

time travel is a really difficult concept to work with and unfortunately the writers were not careful enough with it. there's a lot of vagueness surrounding what happened in the original vs altered timeline, for example, how did hyeseong know taejun and woojin would fight in 3 days when the fight is mostly caused by the fact that hyeseong is being over protective of woojin to prevent his death? or how was hyeseong's sketchbook already torn in the original timeline?

there's also other plot holes such as why hyeseong sees black and white whenever woojin touches him - given how important it is to the first half of the story, you'd think they'd offer some kind of explanation for it...?

[MAJOR SPOILER]
or – and i really don't understand how they thought they could get away with this one – what ACTUALLY happened to woojin in the altered timeline? why did they show the car crash, and then taejun seemingly tells hyeseong that he's died since he goes to the cemetery, all the while he's still alive? how and why? and why did woojin wait so long to find him, when he's been back in korea for at least a few years?

overall, i still rated this drama relatively high because i appreciate its uniqueness compared to most kbls out there. the problem is if you're determined to write a complex story like this, you need to be actually committed to writing it properly.

Proof that good acting can save a drama

It's been a while since I've enjoyed a KBL that much.

I found the story full of holes, and the beginning was slightly weak, it gets better each episode till the finale which was a let down IMO.

Be that as it may, I was entertained because of the two leads (or 3 leads, let's say)

Story: I didn't understand a few things, like what happens to the original version when he time travel, like when he went back to the past, what happens to him in the present, and when he goes back to his original timeline, what happens to himself in the past after he changes it!? It's a known fact that what you change in the past affects the present so it's understandable that he can save him, but what I didn't like is the way they made him disappear in the timeline he leaves, like when he goes back to 2008, he disappears in the present like dust!! That doesn't make any sense.
Another thing is, the end, they made it very vague, unnecessarily I dare say, it felt like they didn't know what to do so they added a bunch of flashbacks and just let them meet and BOOM! Happy ending!

Acting: the reason this is one of the best KBL I've seen recently, because the chemistry and the way each actor represents his character is spectacular, the two leads were amazing, I think in "A Breeze of love" JiHan outshone JeongYou a little but here, I believe JY was amazing specially in the 4th ep, the confrontation part was great, his facial expressions and acting throughout the show was top-notch!! And of course JH was great,I mean, from the very first ep. he succeeded in catching my whole attention and gave me a few giggles too, he is adorable.

Another thing that worth mentioning, and I'm not trying to belittle any actor or series but I've recently watched another KBL (won't mention any names) with a story close to this one, but from the first episode I started yawning and I barely was able to finish the show by skipping most of it, and it was same duration as this, my point is, both dramas had a simple mediocre script but I enjoyed and rated this show much higher than the other one because of the acting, despite having no fan service here while the other show was full of them.

That been said, I admire the efforts done by the whole cast, despite the flawed script and the vague end, I wish they made it a bit clear what actually happened and tied up the end better~~

I would definitely recommend this show, it worths every second ~~

Personally, I think this is a very enjoyable series. Although there are moments that feel frustrating—especially the characters’ words and actions that unnecessarily complicate things, as well as the lack of weight behind their decision to keep distance (particularly regarding color blindness) I don’t see it as something serious enough to justify hurting each other emotionally to that extent. Still, overall, the story is engaging, especially thanks to the strong performances of the two lead actors.
As for the time-travel aspect that many people question, in my opinion, Hye Seong travels back in time through his sketchbook, which he finds in the art room, in order to fix the past and save U Jin’s life. At first, he lets things unfold as they did before and decides not to fall in love with U Jin again, believing he cannot change the future. However, as events begin to repeat with slight variations—such as changes in location and circumstances—he starts to suspect that the future might actually be alterable. Even so, he still chooses to distance himself from U Jin, thinking that U Jin’s accident happens in front of the school.
But when he returns to the present and learns the truth from his sister—that U Jin’s accident actually occurred on the way to the art institute to meet him—Hye Seong makes up his mind to save U Jin at all costs and travels back in time once more.
In the scene where Hye Seong pushes U Jin out of the way of an oncoming car before disappearing in front of him, I personally think the scene showing U Jin being hit by a car and lying in a pool of blood might actually be Hye Seong’s dream before he wakes up. However, the series never clearly confirms this. When Hye Seong asks his friend about U Jin, the answer is not revealed before the scene cuts to the cemetery—where U Jin’s urn is no longer there.
Then, on the day of Hye Seong’s exhibition, there are key details that make me believe it’s not just an illusion:
The basketball-shaped stone that was once placed in front of U Jin’s urn appears again in the painting they created together. I believe U Jin kept it all along, waiting for the day they would meet again.
In a flashback, when U Jin receives the letter and says, “We will meet again,” it strongly suggests that he is still alive, waiting for the right moment to reunite with Hye Seong.
I interpret the time-travel mechanism in this story as one where the protagonist remains alive in the present, and any changes he makes in the past directly affect the future (or present).
For example, at first, Hye Seong is invited to become a teacher at a high school. But after returning from the altered past, he is no longer offered that position—instead, he holds an art exhibition. I see this as a sign of change and a new beginning, ultimately leading him back to U Jin. I also think Hye Seong’s sister is aware of these changes, as she hints that he will meet someone important and that it will mark a new beginning for him.
For me, this series is very compelling. Each episode keeps you wondering whether this journey through time will succeed in saving U Jin. That said, there are still several weaknesses—such as inconsistencies in the plot, lack of clarity, and unresolved questions—that may leave some viewers confused about whether everything was real or just in Hye Seong’s mind.
However, after carefully analyzing multiple scenes, I personally conclude that Hye Seong was able to save U Jin’s life. During the ten years they were apart, U Jin lived his life well, just as Hye Seong had wished. Eventually, they reunite at the right time.
(That said, I’m a little annoyed with the director for not letting them hug when they finally meet! But I understand—it had been ten years, and one of them believed the other had died. When they finally see each other again, they’re overwhelmed with emotions and can only look at each other with longing.)
I really like this series. But if some viewers don’t enjoy it because they find it confusing, that’s completely understandable too.

Don't Meet Again

Regrettably, this is yet another BL love story where a somewhat successful but isolated individual in the present is still living in the past. Racked with guilt about something traumatic, he has obviously not dealt with its lasting effect. It seems to hang over him like a continuous voice that whispers into his ear – perhaps if I could go back to stop a tragic situation, maybe everything would be different. Although I had been lied to as to what those circumstances were, I still want to go back and change something else just to make sure the same predicament which I am not sure what that is, never happen. Confused? Well, you should be. The story frankly is bewildering from a logical point of view. Oddly enough, it also made little sense from a mythus frame of reference. Is this series enjoyable? Well, yes, it kind of is, only because of the acting of the main protagonists. Yet, the screenplay itself let the actors and the story down, I am afraid. Unless you find a way to travel back in time to be completely 17 again – fully, wholly, and unequivocally – then do not. You will always bring some part of you back with you that will inevitably change elements you did NOT want to change. That alone will digress the outcome you intended. Perhaps it might be best to leave the past – alone.

The ending felt very hanging ?

I just finished it today, but why was the ending like that?
The finale needed clearer explanations.
For me some parts felt unclear and incomplete.
Is it only eight episodes?
Is there no continuation?
The ending felt very hanging…
Hope there is a special episode or second season that explains the events before and after for the some parts are “missing”😩😩😩

This series is charming, romantic, and backed by a strong plot. I really enjoyed the calm pacing, which allowed the story to breathe and let the chemistry between the leads shine. The cinematography is stunning and really sets the mood. It’s a lovely, well-made drama that relies on atmosphere and connection rather than forced drama.

One of the better BL's in a long while

After the very first episode, you understand that this will not be your normal BL series. The story is very intriguing and really takes hold of you just a few minutes into it.
These two protagonists create a very powerful chemistry between the two of them. A lot of actors in past BL series you can see right through the acting, but these two make this relationship so believable and truly genuine, you can't help but feel how real it is. Having seen Ji Han & Jeong You in past performances, I definitely felt they were both at their best in this drama.
The one negative I walked away with, was at the very end of the final episode. Without giving anything away, It was a bit rushed in the final few minutes. It seemed like it took too long to get to the conclusion, with some wasted reminiscing, using up some valuable minutes. When the peak of the story finally happened, it just seemed a bit empty as the end credits rolled. I think there could have been a little more time given to such a great ending ... I don't want to take away from the series as a whole, because it was high marks all the way, overall making for one of the better BL series to come along in a while.

Needed to be longer

Pretty cute story that I wish we had just a bit more time with. I really liked this and looked forward to the next episode every week, it just felt so short. The last two episodes felt like they needed more time as well. We should've had more once U Jin survived.

I think if we had more time to get to know the characters more, it would've made the story hit harder. I wish we got to see more of the main two together in the past as well as in the end when he survives, more of them with Tae Jun, and just all of them individually as well.

I loved the main two characters a lot and they had great chemistry together. I would love to see them in something else together. Their love story in school is so cute, especially for it taking place in 2008. It was so cute to see them fall in love. I liked seeing the differences of what happened the first-time vs when Hye Seong is reliving it.

Undiniable chemistry

These 2 actors have amazing chemistry and dynamics, the kisses are great too. I was thrilled to see they reunited after acting in A breeze of love and they didn't dissapoint me.
This was a very good story, even tough it had a few holes in it. Some things would have been better is they were explained, therefore the 9 /10.
It had beautiful visuals and the music was beautiful too.

A must watch!

Depth and heart

This show blew me away. I really liked the plot, the characters, the acting. I'm glad to be able to see these two actors together again as their chemistry is really good and natural. The show would've benefitted from a longer runtime as it felt a bit rushed and the ending a bit anticlimactic. The time travel plot was interesting but not explored enough. Still I had an amazing time and totally recommend this show!!
