A good story, poorly executed.

I had no expectations for this series, but as soon as it started, I was surprised. First, because the series is very well produced, I could see some new elements from Copy a Bangkok, such as the insertion of the characters' names introducing themselves on screen, the insertion of the characters' thoughts, and the insertion of secondary characters with more presence. These elements were not seen in their last productions, so I found it very interesting. The story as a whole is interesting to follow so far, well written and directed, nothing that leaves viewers confused.

In addition, I really liked the casting choice, because I watched Black Valentine and several actors are from that series, including Mint, who is played by the same actress who in Black Valentine had a character in love with Natty's character. In other words, it's as if Black Valentine fans could finally see what it would be like if they got together. I loved it. Also, the actor from My Imperfect Family is also in this series; He acted alongside Enjoy Thidarat last year, and I really liked his character (I hated his villain role, so he was a good actor, right?). And finally, the series director himself appears as a character. In the series, P'Cheewin plays himself and shows how a TV series works... I LOVED IT!!!

I'm loving the meta-language. Seeing a GL being built within another GL is very interesting. We can see each step of how a GL emerges, from the castings and workshops to the demands placed on the actresses, the criticism about who they date, and their sexual orientation. It's really cool to see this portrayed in the series, to open the fans' eyes to how much they interfere in the actresses' love lives.

The script was confusing and poorly developed in some parts, and the non-conformities weren't good, but aside from that, the series is enjoyable to watch. Charm is a sweetheart, it's not a toxic romance, it's beautiful and cute. The actresses improved their acting a lot from the beginning of the series to the end, and the chemistry between them also improved a lot throughout the episodes.

P.S.: They need to give the character with short red hair a GL series. I'm saying this right after the first episode!
PS 2: I think Mint and Charm have more chemistry; I'd prefer the main couple to be Natty and Nycha... but I'll wait to be sure.

Princess Charming's Alive!

Watched both eps 9 & 10 (Finale Episode) of FROZEN VALENTINE - Now there's something else to remember, aside from that iconic "Eat me Gen, eat all of me" line from MATE - FROZEN VALENTINE'S "Pls don't stop P'Charm, please don't" Haha haha haha haha 😂😆 It's a good story with occasionally good acting, but the directing's kinda flaky and the editing is so wonky. Nevertheless, FROZEN VALENTINE is still a good watch, could be even binge-worthy, if you're in the mood for a good laugh-cry before falling asleep.

If Faye Peraya Malisorn had a child with B Mine Jiratchaya Komontut, for sure their daughter would be Natty Natthamon Jantraviphart🥰😍😘😁😉❤️💯🇹🇭

Don't Sleep on it

Frozen Valentine GL is a truly charming series that deserves to be watched. The chemistry between the actresses is on another level—intense, natural, and captivating. Their ability to express emotions so effortlessly makes every scene feel authentic and heartfelt.
The story develops at the right pace, keeping viewers engaged while allowing the relationship to unfold organically. Personally, I love how easily the leads show what they are feeling; it adds warmth and sincerity to the narrative.
What makes this series even more special is that it’s a little spicy in the right way—never excessive, but just enough to heighten the passion and connection between the characters.
Overall, Frozen Valentine GL combines a well-structured storyline with powerful performances, making it a delightful and memorable watch for anyone who enjoys GL romance.

Messy Storytelling, Weak Direction, Wasted Potential

I had genuinely high hopes for Frozen Valentine, especially with new pairings I was excited to see, but this series turned out to be a complete disappointment.

From the very first episode, the storytelling is a mess. The plot is all over the place, scenes are either cut so short that nothing has time to breathe or dragged out so long that they become awkward and uncomfortable to sit through. There’s no sense of balance. On top of that, the show constantly jumps from one moment to another, skipping important developments entirely, so you’re left confused instead of engaged. At several points, episodes don’t even pick up where the last one ended—they just drop you into random situations like you’re supposed to already understand what’s going on.

The actors are not the issue here. Natt has shown in previous roles that she’s capable, and even the newer actors clearly have potential. But the direction completely drags everything down. Performances feel flat and lifeless because of how poorly scenes are handled. Charm, in particular, comes across as incredibly bland, with almost no emotional variation, making it impossible to connect with the character.

As a fan of PairInthira, this was especially frustrating. I was excited to see them, but the show sidelines them along with the other side couples, giving them barely any screen time or meaningful development. It feels like wasted potential across the board.

Honestly, this series is hard to sit through. Between the chaotic pacing, weak direction, and lack of coherent storytelling, it fails to deliver on almost every level. What could have been something great ended up being a confusing and poorly executed mess.

A Promising Series That Falls Short of Its Potential

If you’re considering watching this series, I’d recommend adjusting your expectations beforehand. It’s not a “waste of time” kind of show; on the contrary, its core story idea is quite intriguing and has real potential. However, this potential unfortunately isn’t fully realized in terms of writing structure and narrative progression. One of the most noticeable aspects is the concept and the premise, which initially creates curiosity and gives the feeling that you’re about to watch something solid. However, as the episodes progress, the pacing becomes uneven at times, and some events are rushed without being properly connected, which weakens the overall sense of cohesion. Especially in the middle episodes, it’s not always clear where the story is heading, which can make the viewing experience feel a bit fragmented. The cast, overall, brings good energy and presence, but the performances often feel somewhat amateurish. Because of this, certain scenes especially emotional or critical ones don’t always have the intended impact. It’s not that the actors are bad, but they don’t always fully carry the weight of their roles. Combined with the writing issues, this slightly lowers the overall effect of the series. By the finale, the biggest issue is the rushed feeling. It seems like the story is quickly trying to wrap things up, leaving some important details underdeveloped. In particular, the supporting characters feel underutilized; as a viewer, I would have liked to see their stories developed more and their presence felt more in the ending. Unfortunately, that part feels somewhat neglected. In conclusion, this is a series that starts with a strong idea but fails to maintain the same level of execution throughout. It’s not a bad or unwatchable show, but it’s best enjoyed without overly high expectations and without focusing too much on its shortcomings. It can be described as a production with potential that wasn’t properly handled.

HORRIVEL
