The deceased is identified as Ashino Takajiro, a master doll artisan who rose to fame more than a decade earlier after presenting his elegant hina dolls, captivating the public at the time. At the scene, a rare stone believed to be the murder weapon is found, and beneath the victim’s head lies a san-dawara straw mat produced in Tottori Prefecture.
