Asami Mitsuhiko is assigned to Hyogo Prefecture’s Akashi for research on The Tale of Genji. As usual, his mother, Asami Yukie, accompanies him. Outwardly a reporter, Mitsuhiko also has a hidden side as a detective and often receives requests to solve cases. This time, he has been asked to search for journalist Maeda Junko. Junko disappeared after parting ways with her junior colleague, Sakigami Yukari, at Sumaura Park Station while pursuing a pair of men. Mitsuhiko and Yukari track Junko’s movements and eventually discover her body on Tekkai Mountain.
