The Crow Club

I'm dropping this after seven episodes.

Honestly, this feels like one of those small-scale GMMTV productions where they set up the backdrop, gather the actors, roll the cameras, and call it a day. And then what? Nothing. No real thrill, no convincing atmosphere, no depth, and barely any sense of scale. It's almost as if the entire story is happening in one venue.

The concept is ambitious, I'll give it that. Four couples, supernatural cases, random jobs, and interconnected stories. There's clearly a bigger vision here. But the execution simply doesn't live up to the premise. Having a good concept is one thing; having the production quality to bring it to life is another.

What's frustrating is that the cast actually has potential. The actors are cute, some genuinely have acting chops, and there's enough chemistry to make you want to root for them. That's what makes this even more disappointing. I honestly wish the production team had thought this through more thoroughly before taking on a project of this scale.

And the Netflix release? That makes the whole thing even more confusing. Being available on a major streaming platform doesn't automatically make a production feel premium. The ambition is there, but the execution is nowhere near enough.

Did they really plan to give four couples their own story arcs within one series without ensuring that the production could support such a massive undertaking? You can't sell an ambitious ensemble concept, attract fans with multiple pairings, and then seem to cut corners on the very thing that brings the entire world to life.

It also makes me wonder whether the bigger selling point is the four couples, the fanbase, the merchandise, and the potential fan meetings rather than the actual storytelling and production. Because fans deserve more than just attractive pairings and promotional activities. They deserve a series that delivers on its promises.

Big series. Big cast. Big expectations. Small-scale production.

It's like serving a sausage party without ketchup, mayonnaise, or mustard. All the sausages are there, but where's the flavor?!

A big NO for me. Such a waste of promising actors and an ambitious premise.

The Crow Club Has Opened Its Doors and These Four Couples Are in for One Wild Ride

My review is based on the trailer and Episode 1, so with another 15 episodes still to come, this is very much a first impression and I will update my review as the series progresses. The Crow Club has a fun and unusual concept. At the centre of everything is a mysterious club whose members are willing to solve all kinds of strange problems as long as the client is willing to pay. Exactly what kind of work they are prepared to accept is something I am really looking forward to discovering.

We have a massive cast with nine main leads, including Cris as Linda, the only female lead and basically the leader of the pack. Then we have our eight BL leads forming four couples, with several familiar faces from Pit Babe. That is no surprise considering this comes from the same production company, Change2561. Instead of one main couple and a few side couples, this series gives us four different pairings with their own stories, personalities and relationship dynamics.

The four couples are:

Couple 1: Talay (Sailub) and Sun (Pon): Talay is the club manager while Sun is a romance novelist.

Couple 2: Van (Milk) and Rakkhun (Newyear): Van is an engineer while Rakkhun has the ability to see ghosts.

Couple 3: Phathee (Pop) and Ran (Title): Phathee is a singer while Ran is a trainee trying to enter the T Pop industry.

Couple 4: Taengmo (Otto) and Yoyeh (BJ): These two are exes, so unlike the other couples, there is already plenty of history and unresolved feelings between them.

What I really like is that all four couples feel completely different. We have romance, supernatural elements, the entertainment industry, ex lovers, action and dangerous missions all connected through The Crow Club. It almost feels like we are getting four different BL stories inside one larger series, which is refreshing compared with the usual setup of one main couple and one side couple.

I will admit that the first 50 minutes were A LOT to take in. Nine main characters, four couples and a mysterious club are all introduced at once, so I spent part of Episode 1 trying to remember everyone's names and how they were connected. Luckily, I am already familiar with all 8 male leads from watching their previous BL series, so it did not take me long to remember who was who. For viewers seeing these actors for the first time though, it might take an episode or two to get familiar with such a massive cast., I actually enjoyed the chaos. Having such a large cast makes the series feel busy and unpredictable, and thankfully we have a whopping 16 full length episodes to give everyone enough screen time. The series is available on Netflix with one episode per week, so we will be following this group all the way into early 2027!

The production itself made a strong first impression. I love the dark atmosphere of the club, the music is good, and the fighting scenes were surprisingly well done. There is a darker and more mature feeling here that separates it from the typical cute BL. I am especially curious about what other crazy, dangerous or supernatural jobs the club will accept. If you are going to give me a mysterious club filled with attractive men who will take on almost any job for money, then please make those missions as wild as possible!

The biggest challenge will obviously be balancing all four couples. Eight BL leads sharing one series is ambitious, and I do not want any couple to disappear for several episodes while another story takes over. However, having 16 full length episodes gives me confidence that there is enough time for each pairing to develop naturally. I also like that I do not have a favourite couple yet. Everyone brings something different, so I am interested to see which pairing eventually steals the show for me.

Overall, I enjoyed Episode 1. It was dark, fun, action packed and a little overwhelming, but in a good way. The huge cast might take another episode or two to fully get used to, but I already like the concept and the different dynamics between the four couples. It is definitely something different from the standard BL format, and I am looking forward to seeing how all these stories eventually connect.

We still have 15 episodes to go, so there is a LONG journey ahead. For now, The Crow Club gets a promising 8/10 from me. Bring on the romance, ghosts, fights, dangerous missions and whatever other madness this club has waiting for us!

it's okay

the actors are doing a great job acting in their characters on this series. and a couple partnerships on here is okay the storyline is okay I could care less about the cut scenes that's the biggest no for me I give it 4 out of 10. I like the first episode so far that's the only episode I had before episodes I watched something's missing. and it's not the characters chemistry because they have great chemistry I need to see more chemistry within the characters. I don't care for the kissing scene I don't find that romantic that's just a tease. they can move on to the next scene it was cut anyway. the supernatural part is the part I like in this series. in my opinion

Gonna review each pair

I had high expectations after ep 1 cz it was just soo good. One thing I liked is that they segregated all 4 couple stories instead of mixing them. Although I thought they'd start with TalaySun cz that's how it usually goes they start with the oldest characters to the youngest like in P10L, love like bike but that's fine

- VanRakhun - I didn't have much expectations from them cz I am literally waiting for TalaySun🤭 but their story was surprising cute and interesting. Kinda reminded of ArthitDao from fourever series. I think the story was going pretty well until they revealed why the ghost was haunting Rak and not letting him date. The whole reason just felt bs and baseless to me so i dropped the rating by 1.

Episode 1-3 Overview

The Crow Club delivers an intriguing blend of mystery, youth drama, and character-driven storytelling. Each of the 4 couples has a 4-episode story arc.

So far, the series maintains a tightly paced narrative while building atmosphere and emotional weight.

The show gives ample breathing room for scenes to land naturally. It balances quiet, reflective moments with story progression, keeping viewers hooked without feeling rushed.

The cinematography and set design stand out immediately, with settings—ranging from cozy room setups to moody, intimate spaces—effectively reflecting the inner lives and vulnerabilities of the characters.

The lead performances rely heavily on subtle expressions and emotional resonance. Key dramatic beats and softer moments land effectively, giving the relationships on screen genuine depth.

Started strong but losing steam

I’m much less enthusiastic after 5 episodes than I was after 3. The first story arc was interesting and engaging, but now that has wrapped and we are getting into the other stories. It feels slow and not as strong anymore.

Three episodes in, The Crow Club is much more fun than I expected.

Four men work at The Crow Club, where clients can hire a “Crow” for unusual jobs, and that gives us four completely different romantic setups: a ghost problem, a romance novelist looking for inspiration, a struggling band, and two exes with very unfinished business.

The supernatural element is much lighter than the way the show is sometimes described. One storyline has a very real and very angry ghost, but the series itself feels much more like an ensemble romance with a strange-job premise than a supernatural drama.

What I like most so far is that the four pairings do not feel interchangeable. Vann and Rak have had the most development, and their fake-boyfriend/ghost storyline has already become much more emotionally interesting than I expected. The other three pairings are moving more slowly, but each has its own hook and its own unanswered questions.

The Crow Club also has one major rule: don’t get so involved with a client that you can no longer separate the job from the relationship.

In a BL built around four Crow/client pairings.

I’m sure that will go beautifully. 😂

For now, I’m very in. The setup feels fresh, the characters are distinct, the humor works for me, and I actually want to know what happens in all four stories.
