A rookie judge, Koenji Madoka, is entrusted to verify "Hoshin", an AI system that will be experimentally introduced in the courthouse. Fueled with various data from the past trials, Hoshin instantly generates written judgments that show exactly the same rulings as the ones painstakingly produced by the human judges. Although many judges are delighted with the improved efficiency, Madoka cannot shake her vigilance toward Hoshin.
